Personal Description:
I have a degree in Pharmacology and a qualified teacher of Science from KS1 to KS5. I am also an examiner; I mark GCSE papers. I am a very hard working individual who is easily motivated and always ready to adapt and learn new skills. Having had various opportunities to carry out a variety of laboratory assessments as key components of my course, I am able to work as an individual or as part of a team. As a part of my degree I developed essential and transferable scientific skills. My project title was 'Synthesis and Biochemical Evaluation of Heat Shock Protein Hsp90 inhibitors on MCF-7 breast cancer cells'. Studies on how drugs are discovered, developed and used to treat disease gave me an understanding of how the human body functions and how drugs can be used to affect these functions. I have experience teaching from KS1 to KS5 and open university students. I enjoy travelling; visited New York, New Jersey, Netherlands, Scotland, Switzerland, Austria, Spain and Nigeria. I get pleasure from working out at the gym regularly and I love swimming. I also enjoy studying christian books and other inspirational books.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently at an inner city school in Portsmouth. It has 900 students on roll. I have over 6 years of experience working with people with challenging behaviour, dyslexia and autism. Currently I am teaching Key stage 3 and 4. Teaching pure Biology lessons to separate Science; Physics, Chemistry and Biology to core and Additional Science students. For key stage 3 I have followed the QCA guidelines and for key stage 4 the WJEC examination board. I have written schemes of work for year 11 students to cover additional Sciences and rewrote schemes of work to meet the recent curriculum changes key stage 3 and 4. I was also involved in producing resources to be shared in the department about hydrocarbons, polymers, smart materials, ammonia fertilizers and many other kS3 topics.

Prior to this experience my first teaching placement during my PGCE year was at a mixed comprehensive with approximately 900 students on role. I taught Biology, Chemistry and Physics at key stage 3 and team taught for key stage 4. This prepared me well for my second placement where I taught all three Sciences across both key stages. My second placement was also at a mixed comprehensive school with approximately 600 students on roll. I also was involved in Individual Student Assessments (ISA). Additionally as a trainee teacher I regularly was involved in school base activities to encourage students. I was a Student Ambassador for Portsmouth University. It gave me a lot of personal satisfaction and developed my communication skills. I also attended the University of East London gifted and talented day in 2008; which was attended by a number of schools from the borough of Redbridge. It was an inspiring day of learning and fun and I have taken elements from that day into my classroom practice today.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching is to first of all find out my students weaknesses and turn it into their strengths; I feel that the study of Neuropharmacology as part of my undergraduate degree in Pharmacology was very relevant to teaching. I have a secured subject knowledge with all three Sciences. I also like to bring the best of people, by being patient and understanding. I have the ability to cope and work under pressure, understanding of the challenges that need overcoming to learn, ability to take ownership of material and adapt it to suit the learning styles and approach of individual.

Personal Description:
Thank you for reading my profile. I currently lecture at the University of Salford. I am a visiting lecturer at the University of Cambridge and an external examiner at the University of Liverpool .I am also an assessor for OCR Biology GCSE/A Level. In 2015 I was nominated by my students for best teacher and best postgraduate supervisor and in 2016 I was nominated again for best teacher. I offer tuition at my home and some on line support. I have twenty years of experience of teaching. I began working as a private tutor seven years ago. This role gives me the freedom to get to know students on an individual basis and adapt to suit their needs and offers an incredible amount of job satisfaction. Please note however that if you are a student at the University of Salford I will be unable to offer private tuition due to a conflict of interest.
In 2015 I was invited to guest lecture and take on the role of medical director of studies Cambridge University, lecturing to medical students at Corpus Christi College. A post to which I shall return in 2016 I completed my PhD in rheumatology in 2009 at the University of Central Lancashire. Privately I mainly teach Biology, science, PE and study skills.I am also able to assist with other health related topics.
Prior to working within education I was a Chartered Physiotherapist within the NHS for 13 years at hospitals in my local area, achieving Senior I grade. During this time I assumed the role of Clinical Educator for students of Physiotherapy thus beginning my teaching career. While working within the NHS I was also the Physiotherapist to the England Women's football team for three years. This was a unique and memorable experience and I was immensely proud to represent my country, working with such talented individuals both at home and during tours of countries including France, Denmark, Italy, Iceland, Bulgaria, and the Soviet Union. I am an internationally published author, having written and edited eight textbooks which have been translated into eleven languages, covering subjects as diverse as anatomy, assignment writing, study skills and health studies. I have been an external examiner at the Universities of East London, and Bradford for postgraduate study and currently the University of Liverpool on their undergraduate physiotherapy programme . This role includes monitoring marking quality, exam board actions ,modifications to syllabus and teaching and learning consultancy.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring privately for several years now. I began teaching in a professional capacity whilst working in a hospital environment where I became a Clinical Educator for undergraduate Physiotherapy students from Universities in the region. This role involved teaching and training undergraduate students within hospitals. Eventually my enthusiasm for teaching overtook that of my day job and I began teaching at Salford University on a part time basis, becoming a full time member of staff within the School of Health Sciences in 1996. I am the longest serving member of staff in the department and enjoy my job, and the interaction with students, as much now as when I first began teaching. Please note that if you are a student at the University of Salford I will be unable to offer private tuition due to a conflict of interest.

Teaching at a university entails a range of teaching methods including lecturing to hundreds of students, small and large group seminar-based sessions and a mix of theory and practical skills. Since 1998 I have been the Year One tutor which involves a pastoral element as many students are having their first experience of independence away from friends and family.

As a private tutor both in my own home and in the tutees home I mainly focus on one to one tuition which I find hugely rewarding as I am able to dedicate unwavering attention to the tutee and their chosen subjects. I have experience of teaching students from diverse backgrounds and ranging in age from 14 years to 50 years.

In 2009 I won the first ever Teaching Excellence Award at Salford University, and the following year was nominated for the Times Educational Innovative Teacher Award - both nominated by my students, a fact of which I am extremely proud.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a friendly and informal approach to teaching as I believe a relaxed environment is most conducive to learning regardless of subject or age, however i am aware that privvate tuition is a serious commitment and it is very important that there is a clear structure to the sessions. I am familiar with the syllabus for OCR, AQA and EDEXCEL for G.C.S.E., A' level and degree. The first session will include an informal discussion with parents/tutee to gain an understanding of the tutees requirements and to explain my role and how I can aid learning.
The structure of the sessions are largely dictated by the tutee, the subjects they wish to focus on and their preferred learning style and this can be discussed at the first session. As the student develops, the structure can be adapted in line with this.

Additional Information

While I prefer to teach in my own home under certain circumstances I may be able to travel to the student. This will be subject to the inclusion of travelling costs in addition to the tuition fee. This will be undertaken by prior arrangement; please indicate your requirements on initial contact.

I am also able to offer the additional educational services:

literature searching
proof reading
essay planning
essay structuring

As I work full time I will require notice to complete any of these tasks and I am unable to write complete assignments as this would be unethical.

Thanks very much for viewing my profile.

Personal Description:
Dear Parents and students,

I am qualified and talented individual, concomitant with professional and tutoring attributes. I specialize in all science subjects. However I have exceptional expertise in Maths, Physics, and English. I am currently on a professional job , but as I enjoy quality teaching, I am looking forward to provide my tutoring services. It helps me to be in touch with the subjects, as I am preparing for some competitive exams. I enjoy teaching. I take up challenging jobs and few only. I take pride when my students improve their grades and their knowledge. It should be noted that money made through this goes towards charity for poor students.

My students have been able to get atleast 1 grade higher than their original grades and those with high grades are filed and polished with my teaching.

I am experienced and well versed with teaching. I have tutoring experience of 5 years. My qualifications are as follows:
Masters Engineering- University of Strathclyde- Distinction
Bachelors Engineering- Distinction= 9.04 CGPA/10

My grades
GCSE level Maths 95%, Science 133/150,
A levels, Maths 93%, Physics 89%, English 78%, Chemistry 80%, Biology 78%

Tutoring Approach:

Tutor must respect the potential of student and must try to increase potential further to bring laurels in studies.
The aim and purpose of a tutor is to widen the scope and horizons of student, to develop the need to think and to encourage the student to do better in life.

I do motivate my students to study for their own good. Sometimes by expecting them to study a lot more than they usually do.Students appreciate me more after they have improved their grades. I have a different approach for every student as every student is unique and must be looked at differently.

This is my perception about tutor. I mail video links for students to watch them and revise the studies after most tuition lessons.

Please note if the contract of lessons is for a very short period or if many lessons are not booked, I will also charge the fee I have to pay to the site.

If you feel you want to try first kindly contact me for only 2 sessions and explain the possibility of total sessions.

I teach for money as well as for passion and satisfaction and to students and parents who cannot afford my lessons I offer reduced price or free tuition only if I am convinced that the child is intelligent and the circumstances are difficult.

Personal Description:
I am a family man, married 10 years to my wife Mel, with 3 beautiful daughters. I have been tutoring in the South Wales area since 1992 after graduating in Chemical Engineering with 2nd (Hons) Degree from University of Glamorgan. My hobbies include wordwide travel, Triathlon, Motorcycles/Cars and anything to do with science and maths.

Teaching Experience:

After graduating in Summer 1992 with an Honours Degree in Chemical & Process Engineering from the University of Glamorgan, I set up my tutoring business to assist parents & pupils with examination preparation, who felt they were being let down by the educational system.

I worked as an examiner for the WJEC from 1997 to 2002 marking Maths papers.

I currently teach on a 1-2-1 basis or in small groups, usually {but not exclusively} in the privacy of the pupils home, in the following subjects:-

* Key stages 1 to 4 {GCSE} in Mathematics, English, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Engineering, Design and Technology, Electronics.

* 'A' Levels {GCE} in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics

* BTEC Engineering, Nursing & Health Care courses, Paramedics, Sports Science.

* Degrees in Engineering - Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Aerospace, and Nursing.

* UKCAT Entrance exams to Medicine and Dental school.

Tutoring Approach:

I thoroughly prepare students for examinations using past paper practise to build up their self confidence and develop the ability to read and digest each exam question.

During the interim term time, I conduct 'student led' lessons, where each of my pupils is able to tell me what they want to learn; whether it be new material, homework assistance or revision of old topics.

I structure my lessons this way because I teach many different students of varying abilities, who are studying at different levels and using different exam boards e.g. WJEC, OCR, AQA, EDEXCEL.

Personal Description:
I am easy to get on with, enthusiastic and dedicated. I enjoy a wide range of activities from playing the piano to playing rugby. In 2012 I graduated with a 1st class BSc in Medical Biochemistry and am now currently studying for my finals in post-graduate medicine at the University of Warwick.

Teaching Experience:

My first experience of teaching came when I was asked to mentor pupils further down my school and help them to read and write. In later years I also helped S.E.N children with ways to overcome some of the challenges that they face, for example techniques to learn spellings or equations. Whilst at university I also helped a number of people with not only theoretical aspects of the course but also with practical elements as well. One of my proudest successes was when I tutored a student on a different course who had never encountered quadratic equations before. By the end of the term she achieved one of the highest marks in the year (>80%). I have also been asked by several peers to help them with communication and presentation skills.
I have worked as a Carer specialising in Children with special educational needs (S.E.N). During my time with them I try to teach them interesting things about the wider world, whilst also helping them with basic safety skills such as how to cross the road.

I have also helped teach university students on a peer support basis and acted as a mentor for resitting students

Tutoring Approach:

I like to work with my tutees and help them to identify any problems they have. One of ways I like to do this, is by getting the tutee to explain the topic to me. This allows me to try and identify if there is a misunderstanding in their prior knowledge that might be impeding their current learning. Once the trouble areas have been uncovered I will work methodically through the topic using a variety of techniques to help them gain the knowledge they require. After a tutee has come to grips with the topic, I ask them to explain again the whole topic to me in any way that they see fit (be it a presentation or written prose it is up to them!). Not only will this help to instill a confidence in their own knowledge but also aid in teaching valuable communication skills that will be beneficial throughout their life.

Personal Description:
I'm 28 and a recent graduate Agriculture and International Development at the University of Lund, Sweden. I have a 2:1 (hons.) in Biology from Newcastle University. I enjoy travel and have lived, worked and studied in Japan, Sweden and Chile, which has given me thorough understanding of different styles of learning and teaching.

Teaching Experience:

I worked for three years in Japan as a village primary and middle-school English teacher. Often this invoved planning and teaching large classes. It also involved a lot of one-to-one and small group tutoring. In addition I also undertook private English classes for adults and children of all ages (as young as 2 and as old as 70), including home visits. In addition I proofread essays for graduate students and offer advice on how to improve language and grammar. I have been living and tutoring in London for 6 months.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in a relaxed and informal approach to learning. Stress is an inhibitor to clear thinking and understanding. My method of teaching has always been to encourage students to be enthusiastic and confident about what they do know first, before building upon that knowledge. I think it is important to bring all subjects out of books and into the real world, where it is possible to get involved and enthusiastic about the subject. Every student is different and it is my job, as the tutor, to help people learn in a manner which suits them. I like to mix real-world examples with exam question practice and also with open discussions at higher levels.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is based on the individual's needs.I assess the pupil first and then cater the lesson accordingly based upon individual needs. The lesson progresses according to the pace of the learner.I differentiate and meet the needs of the pupil.I break the information up into easy steps for some or go straight to the next step for others depending on the student.I praise and motivate the pupil and enhance their confidence.
After teaching a certain topic I also provide a piece of homework to reinforce knowledge. There is continuous on going assessment so that I am aware which topics need more practice.

Personal Description:
I am a Maths/Physics Graduate with over six years experience tutoring Maths and Physics to A level, and all three Sciences to GCSE level. I am enthusiastic and committed to my student's learning, and I believe that with the right support they can gain confidence and achieve the results they would like. I enjoy working with my students and being a part of their progress and seeing them achieve good exam results. I am also a classical violinist in my spare time (If I get any!) and play with various local orchestras, e.g. the Enfield Chamber Orchestra.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience teaching most modules in A level Maths and Further Maths: Core 1 - 4, M1, M2, M3, M4, S1, S2, FP1, FP2 and D1, and tutoring students studying for all the major exam boards - Edexcel, OCR, OCR MEI and AQA. I also have experience teaching Physics A level for the following exam board syllabi: AQA, OCR A, OCR B and Edexcel. In addition I have experience in Teaching BEng Undergraduates at Middlesex University.
For GCSE level I have experience tutoring Higher and Foundation Tier in Maths and Sciences to students with differing abilities and learning styles, and to students with Special Educational Needs e.g. Dyslexia, Asperger's, Dyspraxia, ADHD and Dyscalcula. I have tutored Core, Additional and Further Modules (triple Science) for all Chemistry, Biology and Physics.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is to consider each student individually and assess their needs through talking to them about their work so far, and to monitor their progress as they work with me. I will always work at a pace that suits each individual student, making the subjects interesting, fun and accessible for students so they will learn more easily and remember more. They will gain confidence as they progress far more this way. I am a good communicator and understand the many problems students face. Towards exam time we will go through all the past papers for that exam to give students extra confidence in exam technique

Personal Description:
I am Pharmacist. I have masters in Pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Sunderland. I have taught primary school students to University students as a private tutor. I am able to make learning real to the individual by explaining the concept of different topics in a way that is practical and understandable. This method of teaching makes it easier for the student to remember more.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught various age groups. Primary, GCSE and A-Levels. (Edexcel/OCR/AQA)

Tutoring Approach:

I have learnt over the years that students learn in different ways. I try to identify how best the student likes and learn best and apply it accordingly. However I have achieved success the most by making the student understand the rational behind the solution for any challenge.

Personal Description:
I am currently a 21 year old student studying Biomedical Science in Brighton. I'm passionate about science and am keen to pass on my knowledge of sciences to younger students in order for them to excel. I earned A's in all my sciences and maths at GCSE, and further qualifications at A Level.

Teaching Experience:

I've been able to help my younger siblings (1, 2 and 14 years younger) with their education, mainly with the sciences but other subjects too. My youngest brother is only 6 so it is important to adapt the way of teaching to fit his understanding.

Last year, I spent half the year tutoring at primary school and GCSE level, where all students went up a grade.

Tutoring Approach:

It is important to vary the language you use depending on the level and age of the student you are working with. It is also very important not to discourage the student, as I feel this does not motivate them. It's important to make them feel good about what they're doing and this will encourage them to do well.

Personal Description:
I studied Medicine with an intercalated BA (Hons) at Oxford University. I achieved a distinction in my undergraduate exams and was awarded a scholarship. Since graduating in 2013, I have been working as a doctor in London and have completed my surgical and gynaecological part 1 exams. At A-level I studied Biology, Chemistry, French and Physics, achieving a national Top 5 candidate result for Biology A-level. As a tutor, I would describe myself as very friendly and relaxed. There aren't any silly questions! - I aim to ensure tutees get as much as possible from every session.

Teaching Experience:

I received formal training in teaching whilst at medical school and have extensive experience teaching both colleagues and medical students. I have advised various students and friends on applications for medical school and speciality training in medicine. Whilst at boarding school, I helped the younger students with prep and have experience of helping with both GSCE and A-level biology.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe the best way to learn is through practice. It would be best if the tutee let me know a topic in advance of each session, so that we could revise the concept, then practice working through the questions together. I could provide revision notes if necessary.

I feel my experience of teaching students and the wide variety of science outreach projects I have worked on, make me an excellent private tutor for any undergraduate or A-level, or casual adult student wishing additional support with their studies.

I am also happy to discuss tutoring GCSE students, although I am not aware of the specifics of the content of the current syllabus. My CRB check (as carried out s part of STEM ambassador training) has expired. However if I receive multiple requests requiring one I am happy to reapply to update it.

Tutoring Approach:

I enjoy working directly with others, preferably one on one, to help them develop their knowledge about a subject. This applies especially to biological sciences, which I'm passionate about. Combined with my range and depth of knowledge of the subject area, as well as understanding how university work is assessed and what constitutes good exam technique, I am confident to work with someone to help them achieve their full potential in the subject. I am also experienced at working with a range of learning styles and like to work with the student to see what best works for them with regards to getting the most from and improving their study. Personal Description:
Hi! My name is Nathalie and I'm an 18 year old student studying for my final year of A-Levels.

I'm a very approchable, enthusiastic individual who has been educated both in the UK and in the USA, and so I can appreciate a diverse range of backgrounds as well as teaching styles.

My aim is to provide an enthusiastic yet progressive learning environment, in which I can help the tutee achieve the best they can while they also develop a strong interest in the subject taught.

With interest comes confidence, and with confidence comes success!

Teaching Experience:

I have taught Maths, Science, and French to younger family friends and family members (age range of 6-15) in a dedicated and professional manner.

The variation in age of the people I have taught has helped me become more empathetic and has allowed me to adjust teaching style to meet the needs of the tutee.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe having a passion for the subject you teach can really amplify the teaching experience for the tutor, but more importantly the learning experience for the tutee.

I will teach in an encouraging and patient way, yet offer light constructive criticism when necessary, and in order to assess progress, I will be providing past questions and mini tests frequently to make sure the tutee is learning.

I am optimistic that all tutees, no matter their background or circumstances, can achieve and become the best they can be with self-confidence as well as education from determined and motivated tutors.
