Personal Description:
I have extensive experience of different photographic genres over many years with a particular specialism in wildlife, landscape and creative environmental photography projects. I have a first degree in BA(Hons) Wildlife & Environmental Photography from Blackpool and the Fylde College and an MA in Wildlife Documentary Production.

Previous to taking these courses as a mature student I practiced location and journalistic photography in my capacity as Film Unit Manager for the London Borough of Greenwich, photographing on film sets such as About a Boy with Hugh Grant and the remake of the Four Feather with Kate Hudson and Heath Ledger.

I have won a number of prestigious photography competitions including the Royal Horticultural Society silver award for macro images of flowers and was a finalist in the Natural History Museum's Wildlife Photographer of the Year Awards. I have exhibited in the Look 13 International Photography Exhibition, other locations in the northwest of England, London and New York. I have also made two short wildlife films which mix documentary with fictional elements in story telling.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught at a number of leading institutions including Ravensbourne College of Media and Communication, Blackpool and Fylde College, Liverpool University and Cumbria Wildlife Trust as well as personal tuition and mentoring on creative photography. I have also volunteered on nature photography projects with Embrace Cooperation Ltd for secondary school children and adults. I can teach you how to use your DSLR camera plus the basics and more advanced tools for creative photography and documentary style projects. Complete beginners to the more advanced photographer welcome.

Tutoring Approach:

I offer a 1.5 hour introductory photography lesson to individual adult learners at the special rate of 75. This may be enough to help you get to grips with your camera and/or establish whether the teaching methods and aims fit. Also good as a present!

Please note that all individual adult lessons will take place in or near the Waterloo/Southbank area of central London.

I like to teach photography in a creative way, allowing the pupil to develop their own style through a process of fieldwork, set projects and the study of other artists and photographers. They will start to see the world in a different way. It is a great confidence builder as well as a skills provider.

Comment from a previous student:

"Just a quick note to say thank you for such an inspiring and brilliant course. ............. I have learnt so much, it's been a real inspiration to me." Sarah-Jane

I am also able to teach groups at special rates and team-building days with corporates and organisations. Mentoring of individuals in the process of career change and personal development. Please enquire about any of the above.

N.B. Lessons can be taken within one year of purchase. Additional rates quoted for travel beyond central London. Most teaching takes place at a location on the Southbank.

Personal Description:
After having completed a qualification in advanced Spanish in Salamanca in Spain, I returned to the UK to complete a degree in Psychology. Following university I went to drama school, and college to learn to teach English as a foreign language. I have taught Spanish and English privately since graduating, and love to see my students improving in their language. I am trained in phonetics, so can help improve in Spanish pronunciation, and with British English or American pronunciation. I am flexible and willing to travel to central and around London, or or have students at home in the Crystal Palace area.

Teaching Experience:

Before completing the CELTA course I taught Spanish privately and in groups at the university of Sheffield. While at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School I taught private Spanish, and also drama/speech preparation to those wishing to get into drama school, then of course during my CELTA course I was constantly teaching English to classes and privately. I have taught private lessons in Spanish and English since then, and am doing so currently. As you can imagine, from living in Spain, a degree in Psychology, a professional acting qualification and teacher training, I've been around the study of people and how they work for a while now. These experiences have made me an empathic, patient and responsive teacher. Learning styles are really important for a teacher and a learner - if we can figure those out, you can become amazing and proficient in whatever you want. Let's have fun, get some work done, and finish proud of what you've achieved.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a modern approach to language teaching and want to make it as fun and interesting as possible. The mixture between a Psychology degree, an acting degree, and a CELTA course mean my approach to teaching is empathic and eclectic. I may use traditional board methods, or role-playing techniques to make sure my students' learning styles are explored and made use of. I would be perfect for any native Spanish speaker as I can relate language points to make comprehension of English clear, and for any English speaker who wants to learn Spanish. As stated above, my knowledge of the International Phonetic Alphabet and its application makes me a good choice for anyone additionally wanting to improve their English, or Spanish pronunciation. I have lived in Spain, so I understand what it's like to live in a foreign country where you don't know the language. I have training in phonetics from both drama school and the CELTA course, so am a good choice for pronunciation practice in an addiction to language improvement.

Personal Description:
Hi, I'm 25 years old and full of enthusiasm and passion to ensure pupils do the best they can in Maths. I have been fortunate to tutor many tutees with success, particular at GCSE level.

Teaching Experience:

I'm a fully qualified maths teacher with vast experience in tuition. I have tutored over 40 pupils, the large majority in GCSE years.
I have given personal tuition for the past 4 years.
I have marked many past exam papers and worked with a lot of GCSE groups. I have a very high understanding of the level that is needed to achieve each grade.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a friendly and enthusiastic approach, where I focus on relating to the pupil and inspiring them to do the best they can. I look to establish their strengths and weaknesses, build their confidence in the subject and push them to their maximum.
I have a very large collection of resources across all topics including many exam questions for all topics. These are used in lessons however I am also happy to offer extra work that will benefit the tutee if they wish to do it in their own time.

DO YOU NEED A TUTOR FOR EXAMS/RE-SIT EXAMS THIS YEAR? LOOK NO FURTHER!

GRADE 1 OUTSTANDING - OFSTED
I have been the Head of Accounting since 2006, at a large Catholic Sixth Form College in Hulme, Manchester. I am 39 years old, married with 2 children, living in Didsbury, South Manchester. I gained my degree in Economics and Finance in 1998 from Leicester University. I began teaching in 2002 so have many years of experience teaching Accounting.

I offer tutition at my home, either at the weekend, or weekday evenings. However, I am usually able to offer tuition during the school/college holidays.

Teaching Experience:

I completed my PGCE at Manchester University in 2002. I only teach Accounting AS and A2 Level, and this is therefore my main specialism. I can also help students in need of tutoring on the Finance elements of the Business Studies A Level, or on Accouning/Finance elements of Business/Accounting/Finance degree courses.

I teach the AQA specification. However, I can also tutor students who are following the OCR specification.

Many tutors are not willing to advertise the results they have achieved with students. I recommend you read the section below on the results i have achieved with my A Level Accounting students.

Also, many tutors seem to offer tuition in a wide variety of subjects. Are they really specialists in so many different subjects? I am an Accounting specialist, and only offer tuition in Accounting or the Finance elements of a Business course. If you need a Maths tutor, then hire a Maths specialist. If you need an Accounting tutor, then hire me!

Tutoring Approach:

Many other tutors seem to describe their strategies/relationships etc, without mentioning anything concrete like exam results! Surely the one thing a prospective student wants to know about is exam results!?!? Read on.

I have an incredibly strong track record of results at A Level Accounting. Compare the results of my students against the national benchmarks below. Please compare the difference between my students, and the benchmarks. We are WAY ahead!

My A2 Accounting students in 2016:

Grade A*-B = 51%

Benchmark A2 Accounting 2016:

Grade A*-B = 35%

Each department within the college is graded according to the college's own internal validation procedure. I have been graded as 1 'OUTSTANDING' for 10 years on the row, since I became head of the department!!!

The Accounting department was also graded as 1 'OUTSTANDING' in the last OFSTED report in Jan 2010. Key Findings from Ofsted:

"A high proportion of students achieve grades A and B. In A-Level Accounting more than two thirds of students gained a high grade (A-B). In AS Accounting, almost four times the national average achieved a high grade (A-B)."

I have been awarded grade 1 on the ALPS measure for value added on 3 seperate occasions in recent years. This means i add more value to my students than any other college in the country. Value added measures the difference between what the Government predicts a student should achieve at A Level based on their GCSE performance and what they actually achieve.

Here are the previous years results, so you can see that the performance is ALWAYS impressive, and WAY ABOVE benchmark.

My A2 Accounting students in 2015:

Grade A*-B = 48%

Benchmark A2 Accounting 2015:

Grade A*-B = 34%

My A2 Accounting students in 2014:

Grade A*-B = 56%

Benchmark A2 Accounting 2014:

Grade A*-B = 36%

My A2 Accounting students in 2013:

Grade A*-B = 68%

Benchmark A2 Accounting 2013:

Grade A*-B = 38%

My A2 Accounting students in 2012:

Grade A*-B = 68%

Benchmark A2 Accounting 2012:

Grade A*-B = 36%

My A2 Accounting students in 2011:

Grade A*-B = 54.54%
Grade A*-E = 100%

Benchmark A2 Accounting 2011:

Grade A*-B = 35.12%
Grade A*-E = 94.89%

My A2 Accounting students in 2010:

Grade A*-B = 67.35%
Grade A*-E = 100%

Benchmark A2 Accounting 2010:

Grade A*-B = 37.36%
Grade A*-E = 93.94%

My A2 Accounting students in 2009:

Grade A*-B = 66.67%
Grade A*-E = 100%

Benchmark A2 Accounting 2009:

Grade A*-B = 35.83%
Grade A*-E = 93.44%

My A2 Accounting students in 2008:

Personal Description:
I am a returning ex-pat having lived and worked in Spain for 13 years. I learned Spanish naturally and have a similar approach to teaching. I use the similarities between the languages to lower barriers and make learning fun and easy. I teach natural Spanish not endless grammar or lists of nouns or verbs. I have been in a face to face environment all my working life and put people at their ease quickly. I have used the language in both a casual and business environment.

Teaching Experience:

As a private tutor I have been helping students for over 3 years now. I have developed a method of making the language accessible and easy to speak. There are no verb lists. Here's the challenge: I can teach present tense verb endings in 10 minutes, past tense in 5 minutes and future in one minute. How long have you been trying? Make learning fun!

Tutoring Approach:

I learned Spanish naturally and have a similar approach to teaching. I use the similarities between the languages to lower barriers and make learning fun and easy. I teach natural Spanish not endless grammar or lists of nouns or verbs. Students find my methods fun and relevant. I can offer support to academic learning within a curriculum or help people to get by on holiday. If required I can take a student through to fluency in a manner more suited to everyday use.

Personal Description:
I am Philosophy Graduate with a passion for ideas and critical thinking. I have written articles for a variety of blogs and delivered lectures to an academic audience.

In the past I have also worked in as a freelance musician and an IT technician.

Everything I do is influenced by my passion for ideas and my desire to convey them to others, a conscientious work ethic and lively sense of humour.

Teaching Experience:

Although this is my first foray into academic tutoring, I have previously taught Judo at senior and junior levels. In addition, I have been responsible for helping people improve their IT skills when I worked for The Department For Work and Pensions.

Tutoring Approach:

I try to meet every individual where they are in their journey of learning, rather than impose preconceived ideas on them. I try and find out how each student learns and in light of this tailor my teaching to fit them.

I always try to keep things fun and interesting as people achieve more when they are engaged an excited. I avoid pointless jargon and needless technicality.

Personal Description:
I am an enthusiastic and experienced teacher with a real passion for languages. This has led me to travel widely within Europe and amass a great deal of experience of other cultures. That and my belief in 'having a go' at communicating has led me to learn the basics of quite a few languages and given me plenty of material for (short) 'instructional anecdotes', based on various scrapes and international misunderstandings! Languages should be fun and we should never be afraid to try them out! My other passion is music - a truly international language - and I enjoy my weekly instrumental lessons and playing with my local (amateur) orchestra.

Teaching Experience:

I hold degree level qualifications in English, French, Spanish and German and have over 30 years' experience of teaching languages, in both private and state schools and Sixth Form and Further Education colleges, where I have prepared students for a range of examinations and other qualifications. I have particular expertise in helping students bridge the gap between GCSE and AS level - and I love grammar! I have also worked as a private tutor and as a provider of courses and interpreting services for local businesses. My students have ranged in age from 8 to 80-plus. I teach Spanish and French to A level and can also offer German and Italian to intermediate level and basic introductory courses in Russian and Latin. I also offer conversational English for speakers of other languages.

Tutoring Approach:

Lessons can be in my home or at a venue of your choice, within a 5-mile radius. I can travel further afield, but would need reasonable time and travel expenses. I can offer day-time or evening lessons, any day of the week. My hourly rate is 25, though I also offer lessons of 30 or 50 minutes (pro rata). The same rate applies irrespective of the group size. Tutoring can be 1-to-1, small-group or, if you can provide a suitable venue, in a group of up to 15. I can offer intensive tuition or courses of various lengths (though exam candidates must make their own arrangements to sit papers). Alternatively, I can offer coaching and support for those already studying elsewhere. Each course is tailor-made to suit your exact requirements - and I aim to make each lesson fun!

Personal Description:
School year 15/16 reflection: This was a fantastic year, as I saw all five of my students succeed, either achieving their grade or even better, exceeding it. Also well done to one student that was really struggling with her entrance exams but has passed and is now one step closer to becoming a teacher! I have had some great feedback and learnt many new learning techniques which will enable me to have an even better 16/17 year! Apply now for the coming year!

Hello!! Are you looking for an intensive revision session before a daunting exam? Or are you looking for long term assistance through an academic year? If so then look no further! I am currently studying Medicine at the University of Liverpool, having already achieved a first class honours degree in Biomedical Science. This interest in Science stems from three A levels (grades A's and B's) in Biology, Chemistry and Maths with all my exams passed at GCSE level. This passion for life sciences has enabled me to gain knowledge in various areas of science and I am offering to tutor you/your child to help achieve similar goals. Studying medicine allows me to keep up with ever changing research whilst maintaining the basics learnt throughout school. Aside from my academic life, I am a keen rugby player, play the piano and socialise with friends.

Teaching Experience:

Throughout my university life it has always been encouraged to teach our peers through case based learning and PowerPoint presentations. Therefore I have taught to individuals, but also to small groups and even whole classrooms. On the other end of the scale, I have tutored Maths to a year 6 pupil that was struggling to make the grades in this one subject, and by the end of the year she was competing with top of the class. I have also taught English in Asia to students aged 4-18. I am sure you will agree that this is a diverse range of experience but makes me confident that I could be a suitable candidate for you or someone you wish to be tutored. I have also been part of a University society which aids in teaching medicine to younger people hoping to take such a career path later on in life.

Tutoring Approach:

Having tutored people as young as key stage 2, I am able to adapt to the needs of the Tutee and instead of enforcing my learning techniques upon a person; I gauge the needs and learning styles of the individual which allows them to develop their own skills whilst trying new ones. Personally, I like the use of short, concise notes (flash card style) and colourful posters which enable me to visualise my notes in an exam. However, I understand this is not suitable for all people and would be more than happy for tutee's to make extensive notes. Having performed research and undertaking multiple entrance exams (GAMSAT, UKCAT) I have learnt to quick read which I can also teach. I can also help with University style interviews (especially medicine) if necessary. My teaching style is very informal (within reason) as I believe that strict lessons can often be counterproductive.

Personal Description:
I am qualified tutor/teacher of English as a Foreign Language (TESOL//EFL) and will help you improve your level of English at your own pace. I can prepare you for exams like IELTS, FCE, CAE and PET. Or if you simply want speaking experience or help with your CV and forms, I will support that too!

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching English for many years and enjoy students of all ages and backgrounds. I hold group lessons, private lessons and online (Skype) lesson. I include EXAM preparation for FCE, PET, CAE and IELTS. I also teach Business English, interview preparation and do CV support.

Tutoring Approach:

I am known as a relaxed, confident teacher and I feel passionate about teaching English. I have travelled and learned other languages, and understand that experiencing a new culture is difficult in many ways. So my lessons are about cultural experience as much as words and language. More than anything, I am considered flexible and empathic.

Personal Description:
Hi!

My name is Victoria. I live and work in London and previously spent time aboard teaching and traveling. I love meeting new people and learning about new cultures. I am passionate about teaching and getting the best out of my students.

Teaching Experience:

I am a highly qualified and experienced teacher who has been tutoring for six years. I currently work as a social science teacher in London, teaching both GCSE and A-level and have in-depth knowledge of the subjects Sociology and Government and Politics. I have a BSc and MA in Sociology as well as a PGCE. I am able to provide support and guidance on social science subjects and how to pass the GCSE and A-level exams. My previous teaching experience also includes teaching English as a foreign language, I am CELTA and DETLA trained, and I have the required skills and knowledge to teach English at any level. I enjoy tutoring, working with others and getting the best out of my students. I hold a DBS certificate.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to hold an introduction lesson, at a discounted price, to get to know my students and analyse their needs. I like to set out a clear plan for progress and try to push my students to do the best that they can. I am very organised and have high standards of teaching.
