I think I have a good sense of humour and this helps me to keep the lesson dynamic and lively and make the lessons memorable.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught over the last 27 years and my teaching has included several subjects: English as a foreign language and English (including English as a foreign language) and I have also taught primary Maths and the piano up to grade 4 . I have taught History and French at all levels and Geography and Biology up to National 5 level ( lower level) I have also taught art and design up to university level and currently provide art classes for children in my home every week.

Tutoring Approach:

I think learning takes place when students feel free to give it a go and make mistakes without any fear of negative remarks from the teacher. Good teaching is about establishing a relationship of trust with the student and customising the lessons to the needs of the pupil. A sense of humour is essential to help overcome obstacles and keep a positive atmosphere. Students should be encouraged to give regular feedback about the lessons.They should be encouraged to teach back to the teacher to demonstrate understanding and proper grading of the work should increasingly develop the students' confidence. Lessons are well organised in advance but also allow for flexibility in approach to individual students

I am a qualified, approachable and professional tutor with nine years teaching experience. I am friendly, reliable, patient and I believe in building a student's confidence to help them achieve their potential.

I graduated at the University of Liverpool and achieved a Masters Degree in Chemistry with Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I then completed my teacher training at the University of Nottingham, before going on to work full time as a secondary school teacher.

Teaching Experience:

For the last nine years I have taught:

- Combined Science to Key Stage 3 (in a secondary school environment)
- Biology and Chemistry to GCSE and A Level (in a secondary school environment)
- A range of examination boards, including AQA, OCR, Edexcel and also the IGCSE qualification
- In both a comprehensive and an independent school
- One-to-one private tutoring sessions to students finding Biology, Chemistry and Science difficult
- One-to-one private tutoring sessions to students needing to achieve the highest grades in A Level Biology and Chemistry for entry into Medicine and Oxbridge

As well as teaching and private tutoring I also work as an Examiner so I have an additional insight into exam preparation.

My role as a teacher in an independent school also involves marking entry examinations, so I am able to prepare students for these exams.

During my industrial placement year at university I worked as a Research Scientist for GlaxoSmithKline, applying Biology and Chemistry to researching new pharmaceuticals. I frequently draw on this experience to stretch and challenge students needing to achieve the highest grades for University entry.

Tutoring Approach:

I thoroughly enjoy motivating my students and I have built a variety of teaching resources to help students of all abilities. My students tell me that I help them break down complex information into more manageable sections. As well as preparing students for examinations I try to inspire them to enjoy and apply their subjects beyond the focus of exams. I strongly believe that learning should be enjoyable and accessible to everyone.

I understand how daunting it can be for parents and students to begin tuition so I am more than happy for parents to stay during my lessons. I can provide references and testimonials from my previous students and the schools I have worked for, as well as an enhanced CRB check. I am happy to set homework, mark examination papers and give detailed feedback, as well as organise additional lessons during examination periods.

Hello, I am a well qualified, BA, MPhil, PGCE teacher who is looking to branch out into more private tutoring work. I have privately tutored for many years and have experience since 1996. I have taught at all key stages and enjoy my work thoroughly. Last year (2016) my A level tutees all raised their grades by at least one and have gone off to uni. Proud to add that one in particular achieved an A* in Geography A level.
Please note that my rates are based on one to one tuition. Should you wish me to tutor groups of two or more either at home or in school I am happy to do so but rates will need to be discussed prior to my commencing work.
I now have experience of working on the E Bacc and depth studies.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught to A level in History for adult ed from 1998-2006
I have taught Geography to GCSE-level and A level
History in school at KS 3 and 4 AS and A level
I can also teach basic geology and archaeology and classical studies.

Tutoring Approach:

I am always keen to engage students in whatever subject they are studying. I believe in being supportive and constructive in all that I teach. I am currently working on a one-to-one project with a student with special needs.
An excellent set of results (2015) all my 10 students passed, all raised their grade levels by at least one letter. All those off to uni are about to go so I wish them all well. Three others have a year or two left at school and have asked me to tutor them over the required time span.

Tutoring Approach:

For school level: I have a friendly and informal style, based on building up a good relationship with the pupil, as this is the real advantage of the one-on-one set-up. Classes are structured, but I adapt things based on the situation and diverge from the lesson plan if necessary. I also work extensively with past and mock papers because I think practice is the best way to learn. Finally when I take on a pupil I am committed - if the pupil has problems or needs help between lessons I'm happy to be contacted via email.

For university level: I take an ad hoc approach depending on the student - I also like to keep things fun and informal. Particularly in essay subjects, I emphasise the need for a clear argument and structure, attributes highly valued at UK universities.

Tutoring Approach:

I use a number of essential books and they all depends on the students' levels and preferences. I sometimes mix chapters and books to deliver effective results and tailor classes to students needs.

My workplace has boards, a printer and I use videos if needed.

I teach from my teaching centre. It's a friendly, non-judgemental workplace that has all the necessary tools for teaching, including white boards, sheets, two computers, Arabic books, fast broadband and free tea and coffee. Also, The building has free, secure parking, a waiting area for parents accompanying their children and CCTVs everywhere :-) So, hopefully students will find that arrangement convenient and relaxing.

I aim to provide a solid grounding in Arabic, English and Koran while paying close attention to the needs of the individual. Learning should be fun and engaging, not a sort of punishment.

When teaching Koran, I don't impose my views on the student. I only educate him/her on what the text says and leave its spiritual interpretation to his/her judgement.

I am a British academic and tutor, with degrees from the universities of London, Jerusalem and Cambridge. Author of 'Israel and the Cold War: Diplomacy, Strategy, and the Policy of the Periphery at the United Nations' (I.B. Tauris, 2013), I write for several academic journals, and review for the Royal Institute of International Affairs, Chatham House. I was the first recipient of the Mikardo scholarship, awarded by the British Foreign Office, and, whilst at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, was awarded a Golda Meir Fellowship. Whilst at Cambridge, I won a Donner prize in Atlantic Studies.

Teaching Experience:

A former Teaching Fellow at King's College London, I have taught MA courses on the Arab-Israeli conflict, US and British Foreign Policy, War and Peace in the Middle East, and Inter-Faith Relations in the Mediterranean. A fluent Hebrew speaker, I was Peer Tutor in Hebrew at University College London, where I was awarded the departmental prize for excellence in the Hebrew language.
