Personal Description:
My name's Louisa, I'm 36 years old, and I'm an experienced tutor of both adults and children. I play the flute, accordion and piano. I have had a classical music education, and in recent years I have also studied blues, jazz, rock, pop, folk and gypsy music.

Teaching Experience:

I have been giving private lessons in music theory, flute, accordion and piano since 2002.

Music Theory: Many of my students are gigging musicians who have decided they want to learn how to read music and how to understand harmony. I also teach a lot of students who are studying at music colleges, universities, or in schools, who need extra help with understanding music theory in able to pass their exams. Alongside music theory I also teach sight-reading, aural skills, and composition.

Instruments: My first job when I was 14 years old was as a flute teacher! I now teach flute, piano and accordion to both adults and children.

Tutoring Approach:

I provide a friendly and affordable service in a professional environment, with lessons tailored to the individual's needs.

Music Theory: I teach all ages and abilities, so whether you're a student needing extra help at college or school, or you're a gigging musician who wants to improve and learn more about what you're doing, or even if you've no previous experience of music at all but simply want to start to learn, get in touch and I'm certain I'll be able to help.

I offer a 10 taster lesson for music classes with no obligation to continue.

Personal Description:
I am a professional educator with a wealth of experience in a wide variety of teaching environments. I've taught in schools (Primary and Secondary) around Hampshire covering almost all the curriculum, been a private tutor for a wealthy family in the Middle East, and helped local students improve their GCSE and A-Level grades.

I trained in Physics and have a Masters degree in Physics with Space Science and Technology from the university of Leicester. I now teach Physics and Mathematics at a variety of levels in Gosport and offer local tuition.

Presently, my circumstances make it difficult to offer tuition, and can only accommodate students coming to my home in Gosport.

Teaching Experience:

I qualified as a teacher in 2009 and took up a post in a 11-18 state comprehensive. Here I taught Science at Key Stage 3 and specialised in Physics at Key Stages 4 and 5. After I moved to the south coast I spent 6 months supplying at various schools in Hampshire. This opened my eyes to the full range of skills a good educator should have. I honestly feel my teaching skills were vastly enriched by teaching in a variety of environments in many different subjects.
From March 2011 I was hired by a prestigious tutoring agency based in Oxford to work for a wealthy client and their two sons in the Middle East. This consisted of after-school tutoring 5 evenings a week in a variety of subjects.
Now back in the UK I teach in an Engineering Academy run to train Network Rail Apprentices. I tutor in the evenings from 11+ entrance exam students to those sitting their A2 exams.

Tutoring Approach:

I truly believe that every child is born a genius, with the ability to grasp everything that is put in front of them. From that point on, society, parents, and peers all put barriers in our minds. It is my goal to see that these barriers are destroyed. Learning is done by the student rather than teaching done by the teacher. A teacher can teach a dog to whistle, it doesn't meant the dog will learn.

A tutor is merely a resource. Just like a book, or an expensive laptop. Achieving the optimal results requires a holistic approach to education. I tend to work heavily with educational psychology theory and pinpoint the exact pieces of the puzzle far beneath the surface that allow the bigger picture to be seen. I teach my tutees to look at examinations in a way they may have never seen them before, allowing them to reduce the anxiety and be truly confident in themselves.

The content of subject matter often comes second to learning technique. How people learn differs between individuals. There can never be one set way to solve a problem so I offer various routes and pin point techniques that can be beneficial.

Personal Description:
I am an experienced and qualified EFL teacher, living in Sheffield.

I was born and raised in Sheffield, and studied Psychology at Newcastle University. I spent last year teaching English to school children in Vietnam. Before my time in Vietnam, I taught academic English to overseas Masters and Degree students at Newcastle University.

Teaching Experience:

2010-2011 Hanoi, Vietnam: Teaching English to school children (8-16 years old)

2010 Newcastle University, UK: Teaching academic English to overseas Degree and Masters students

2009 Newcastle, UK: Teaching school children (4-15 years old)

Tutoring Approach:

Our first meeting is free. Here we can get to know each other, and you can tell me what you want from the lessons. (Do you want help with your university work / everyday English / pronunciation / reading / listening /.? Do you want any homework? How often do you want to meet? ). After the first meeting, you can decide if you would like to start lessons with me.

I will then prepare some lessons, tailored to your requirements. After the first few lessons, I will identify your strong and weak areas, and you can tell me what you like or don't like about the lessons.

My lessons are relaxed and friendly - it's your time and money, so you should enjoy it!

Personal Description:
I am a young spanish guy living in London, i came to this city to improve my English because im studying to be a teacher (English specialty). Its a 4 years degree in the International University of La Rioja (Spain) and i complement my studies working part-time in a famous clothing store.
Five years ago i finished my Economics degree (4 years) in University of La Corua (Spain) and also i did a course about Stock Market Analysis in University of La Corua. I received a State scholarship to work in an Italian international company, where i had the chance to learn Italian as well. I did an Italian course in the Tourism School of Rimini (Italy).
I decided to star my teacher degree and change my personal career because i feel that its my vocation, i love to learn about everything and have the chance to pass on my knowledge to others. Its something really pleasant.
As additional information i can say that im a quite person, very patient and i love the sports, im a sportsmen and i did the course to be a monitor leisure activities which has given me the opportunity to deal with many children and teach them so many different activities such as: Archery, kayak, canoeing and rowing...
Other information of interest is that i was football coach during 6 years in a Spanish football team, dealing with children between 5 and 12 years old. It was a good experience to learn how i can motivate the children to achieve their objectives.

Teaching Experience:

Ive been working as a Spanish teacher in a language academy during 6 months, teaching people from Germany, France, and UK... (Adult people)
Also I've worked in a Primary School during 1 year as an English teaching assistant, teaching children aged between 3 and 9.
Apart from that i worked as a private tutor teaching different subject such as maths, English, economy, geography, history and Spanish. Teaching to students between 6 and 15 years old.

Tutoring Approach:

About my teaching philosophy, i believe that the student has to understand the problems and no just memorize. I always try to explain the subjects adapting the concepts to the real life, like that, the student will remember better the explanation.
For language classes i try to combine grammar, vocabulary and conversation. The conversation is one of the most important part to gain confidence and to speak fluently another language.
I always try to motivate the students to face the subject like something interesting and funny for them.
