Personal Description:
I am a professional, dedicated and enthusiastic tutor with over 20 years experience, extremely quick at identifying student problem areas and devising the most efficient solutions, sometimes with budget or time constraints. Where necessary I focus on exam technique as I find many capable and knowledgeable students gain confidence (and marks!) once these skills are taught.

I am well-liked by my tutees who understand I want the very best outcome for them, and also that I appreciate they are under pressure to succeed, and my services are frequently recommended to siblings and friends.

Teaching Experience:

As well as many years continuous home-tutoring experience, I have taught in both state and private sectors since 1986; examples being Surrey College (Guildford), Horsell High School (Woking) and Farnborough College of Technology, and as recently as April 2013, the prestigious Seaford College in Petworth, W.Sussex.

I have a vast library of past examination papers in all my subjects at GCSE and GCE A level for Edexcel, AQA and OCR examining boards.

In addition I have some experience tutoring both common entrance and Baccalaureate Maths, Physics and Chemistry.

Tutoring Approach:

I appreciate that for most tutees private tuition represents a workload additional to both schoolwork and homework.

Therefore I aim to make tuition as interesting, interactive and productive as possible- whilst focusing on their objectives- usually a target examination grade. Experience has shown that students can expect learning progress with an experienced tutor such as myself to be without exaggeration, 2-4 times faster than could be made in a typical school classroom, whilst simultaneously gaining a fuller understanding of the topics covered.

Personal Description:
HI!

I am a multilingual, legal executive and researcher with a long-standing passion in teaching, lecturing and management. I have taught at all levels from primary to the university level.

My teaching experience extends over 20 years and is backed by professional qualifications in each field that I teach. I.e. Law, Martial Arts and fitness / personal training / self defence and of course English and Arabic.

I would recommend that you book a ONE hour meeting / tutorial initially. Further tuition can then be discussed - rather than book 15 hours or 1000 hours etc.! Just see how things go and take it from there - this approach will save you registration fees :-)

Teaching Experience:

I have taught both Arabic and English (native speaker) at various levels - up to university undergraduate level, at several London and UK-based schools as well as managing and directing an international language school in the Middle East.

I also tutor law, up to and including undergraduate level, this includes the foundation subjects: Equity and Trusts, Tort, European, Criminal, Public, Land and Contract as well as self defence/fitness.

The martial arts / fitness tuition stems over three community based clubs and competing in regional and international (primarily Tae Kwon Do and submission grappling) competition.

So if you would like some calisthenics based personal training do get in touch.

Thank you.

Tutoring Approach:

I use a relaxed interactive, seminarial approach whenever practical. I am not, however, averse to IT based or traditional methods and welcome a diverse and results-oriented approach. My aim is to help you achieve your goals.

If you are outside my locality and would like me to travel to you then we can discuss the fee and travel arrangements.

Personal Description:
I got a bachelor's degree in political sciences and a master's degree in international relations at the University of Cagliari (Italy) with 110/110 as a final grade. My studies, together with the international experience of "Erasmus" in Romania, made me discover many sides of the political mechanisms, the cultures and the economies of different countries and areas of the world.
I reckon myself as a very easygoing and motivated person, always ready to cooperate with the workmates. Enthusiastic about the life and the new experiences, always keen to improve myself specially in the relations with the others.

Teaching Experience:

From 2007, in Italy, I started to provide private lessons of different subjects to young students, then in London I have privately helped foreign people in the study of the Italian language. The teaching training course which I followed at International House has given to me, in three months, the chance to learn, improve and practice important techniques in real classes, five lessons for beginners and six for intermediate students: Both execution and planning of a lesson have been tested with good results and personal satisfaction. I can prepare different levels of lessons for groups, business classes or one-to-one, following at the same time the logic and the variety.

Tutoring Approach:

The first goal of a tutor is to help the student as much as he can. Who is learning does not have to feel under pressure or under examination, so it is important to be relaxed and to prepare a logic lesson with exercises that can help the student step by step to build a knowledge of the language. It is essential also to provide adapt material, following the variety of the activities in order to avoid the repetitions which could be boring for the student. The enthusiasm and the motivation of the tutor are absolutely the first steps to provide a good result.

Personal Description:
I'm an experienced professional maths tutor with a Cambridge maths degree, an abiding love for maths and a passion to help students discover and master maths for themselves!

I teach secondary school students at A-level (including IB and Cambridge Pre-U), GCSE (including IGCSE), Common Entrance and KS3. I also teach mature students, and university students requiring maths to support other degree subjects. I have prepared students for exams from all the major exam boards, including Edexcel, AQA, OCR and OCR-MEI. I also prepare students for STEP and for numeracy or numerical reasoning tests, including the numeracy skills test for prospective teachers.

Two of my three children have been through school and university and one is still at secondary school, so I have been engaged closely with the education system at all levels and understand what both students and parents are looking for to achieve academic success.

My family and I have lived in Cranleigh for over 20 years and I have connections with a number of local schools.

Teaching Experience:

I have thousands of hours of experience of providing 1-1 maths tuition. At peak times in the year I have more than 40 active students on my books, spread across all secondary school levels up to A-level Further Maths.

Tutoring Approach:

More than almost any other subject, maths needs confidence to be built, and a patient, individually tailored approach. Able students may need practice to strengthen problem-solving and eliminate errors, a more joined-up view of maths to deepen their understanding, and challenge to stretch their capabilities. Others struggle to understand at a more basic level, and an imaginative and pictorial approach with plenty of real world examples is needed to achieve that "penny drops" moment!

Depending on the student, tuition may include any or all of: coaching to consolidate (or anticipate) teaching at school; revision for examinations; working through past examination papers; teaching and testing of specific sections of the curriculum; or more free-wheeling exploration of mathematical topics. By agreement with students and parents, homework may be set and marked.

I'm available to teach at any time in the week, either on weekdays (daytime or evenings) or at weekends. I'm happy to teach in my own home, or in students' homes in Cranleigh or up to 10 miles away in the surrounding area in Surrey and West Sussex, including Guildford, Horsham and Godalming. If teaching in students' homes I may agree an additional charge for travel if this exceeds 10 minutes each way.

I offer engaging and effective mathematics tuition at all secondary levels including A-level and GCSE. If you want to succeed in your exams and also to deepen your appreciation of mathematics and have fun, then get in touch!

Personal Description:
My name is Chris , and I am a highly experienced tutor of Maths, English and 11+ entrance tuitions for selective schools. I teach Maths at all levels up to GSCE level, and English at all levels up to Key Stage 3 level.

I live in Devizes, Wiltshire.

I have been tutoring for 16 years, and have 34 written references from parents and I also have a Maths degree.

I have for much of those 16 years worked as a full-time tutor, and I use National Curriculum Resources for all my tuitions.

Teaching Experience:

During my 16 years as a tutor, I have taught students of all ages and abilities, and have literally taught 1000's of lessons- at times teaching as many as 30 hours of tuition in a week.

I have taught every type of student from those with Learning Disabilities to the Gifted & Talented.

I am constantly recommended by parents to other parents, and I have a proven track record of improving students' grades.
I also have resources and past papers , for 11+, SATS (English & Maths) and GSCE Maths.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a friendly person by nature , and I take this into my tuitions. I like to make my students feel at ease in the lessons , and that they have a tutor that they feel they can ask as many questions as they like.

I also believe in offering plenty of praise and encouragement to my students.

I follow the National Curriculum programme in my tutoring, to cover all aspects of the syllabus.

However, even if I have prepared a certain topic for a lesson, if the student then asks me to look over in a different topic, or wants me to help them with some school homework, then I am always flexible to do just that.

I also never move on to a new topic with a student, until I am happy that they have fully understood what I have been teaching.

My method of teaching is to teach a topic, and then set the student plenty of practice examples , to make sure they fully understand the topic.

Personal Description:
I am a published academic author with thirteen years' experience of teaching university students at different levels, including those undertaking foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. I also have extensive experience of teaching via distance learning (by both telephone and online). I have a BA hons in Social Policy and Administration, an MA in Social Research and a PhD in Social Policy. I have significant experience of conducting academic research, writing and editing publications and proof-reading a wide variety of different sources.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked as a lecturer, online tutor and researcher, teaching, supporting, and marking the work of undergraduates and postgraduates. I have taught in - and developed teaching materials for - a variety of subjects within the fields of sociology and social policy. These have included general sociology and social policy modules, current debates in welfare, crime, housing, disability and study skills modules. I have also taught MA Disability Studies for eight years and I have supervised both undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations in various subjects. I have been a private tutor for four years, and have successfully supported students in developing their assignments and dissertations for Sociology, Business Studies, Education and Social Policy degrees, as well as students working towards MAs and PhDs in various fields.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring approach is supportive, friendly, practical and student-centred. I have taught in a variety of styles and formats to suit the varying needs of students from different backgrounds, cultures and with different access requirements. I therefore understand the need to be flexible, to tailor teaching styles and methods to each student and to allow students to identify the most appropriate approaches to learning for them. I have found that this approach to learning has not only helped my previous students to build confidence in their skills and knowledge, but it has also led to greater success in their academic achievements.

Personal Description:
Hello, my name is Lucinda and I have worked as a primary school teacher for the last eight years. I am enthusiastic and passionate about teaching and enjoy the satisfaction it brings.
I enjoy all things creative and try to inject creativity into my teaching wherever possible.
I have a passion for sport and when I am not teaching I can be found rowing on the Thames, at the gym or watching a game of rugby. My other interests include going to the theatre, live music and reading.

Teaching Experience:

I work in an outer London primary school as a class teacher and have done so for the last eight years. In that time I have taught in Reception (age 3-4)), Year 2 (age 6-7) and I currently teach in Year 1 (age 5-6). I have also tutored children working in Key Stage Two, helping to build confidence and close the gap in their learning on a one to one basis.
Throughout my teaching career I have worked with children with varying needs and abilities. My teaching is adapted to suit these learning needs and help children to reach their full potential. I have high expectations of all children I teach and enjoy helping them to make learning fun and enjoyable.

Tutoring Approach:

When teaching is fun, learning is easy.
Children learn when lessons have been planned with their particular needs in mind. Learning occurs when teaching is fun, well thought out and relevant to them. I see the most progress in children's learning when they are fully engaged and the learning has a purpose. I tailor lessons around these elements and enjoy seeing what children can actually achieve when the right learning environment has been created for them.
When teaching and tutoring, I encourage children to explore ideas, make connections, reflect on their learning while all the time I question them, helping to develop their higher order thinking skills.

Personal Description:
I am 24 years old, based in South Oxfordshire and currently working for the Civil Nuclear Police full time Monday to Friday. I am looking to tutor in my spare time, not only to earn some extra money for my husband and I, but also as I have a passion for teaching and it is a career I always considered myself following. I have a degree in English Literature and Creative writing from Kingston University London, graduating in 2013 with a 2:1 BAHons. I have always had a passion for English, particularly poetry, writing regularly in my free time. I have wanted to become a teacher from a very young age however, due to financial needs, was unable to undertake a PGCE course immediately after finishing my undergraduate degree.
As I work for the Police I have been fully background checked and passed the DBS checks which were conducted between January and April 2016.

Teaching Experience:

I have completed two weeks work experience in a primary school in North Wales where I helped with the reception and year one classes. I was tasked with helping the children with all their work, from spelling and maths, to reading and writing. I would be willing, as a tutor, to help primary school age children with all subjects; from 11+ I would be more suited to English Literature or English Language however I am willing to discuss the child's needs and am happy to help with pre-GCSE maths, science or history also. I regularly check Undergraduate level essays for grammatical, punctuation and spelling errors for my two sisters in law, one of whom is studying War Studies and the other Primary Teaching. When in my late teens I would read with a young boy every week to help him improve.

Tutoring Approach:

Though I have never been employed as a tutor previously, I do have experience working with children and young adults, as well as a keen eye for detail. I am extremely patient and willing to persevere to find the learning method which works best for the child or young adult; I have experience in this with my youngest sister in law, who is just 16, whom I have been helping with her GCSE chemistry; chemistry is certainly not my subject, however I took time to read through her text books and her work, to ensure I knew exactly what she needed to do, before helping her to find a way to understand herself. I appreciate that not all subjects come easily to every individual and that, though I may have a passionate love of English, not everyone will share that and so, when tutoring anyone I should not be telling them that English is great - that is just my opinion; instead, I should be helping them to access it, to understand it better, and making it a little easier for them in the process. If, on top of that, they come to love the subject also, that is great; if not, that is fine too.
I would always propose that I meet once with the parents, and child or young adult, free of charge, to discuss the exact requirements: That way I can come to the first tutoring session knowing what needs improving, where my help is most needed and, also, how I think the tutee needs to taught - do they find the subject boring? In which case I need to show them ways in which it can become more interesting, even fun. Do they find the subject really difficult? In which case we need to find ways to make it more accessible and less daunting. I also can leave the fist session knowing exactly how the parents or guardians want me to tutor their child - do you want me to set my own tasks and homework for the tutee to help improve the weaker aspects of their work? Do you want me to help them with work they are being set in school, perhaps a specific text? All of this will help ensure that both the tutee and I get the most out of the time we spend together.

I am good at all Science related subjects and can guarantee that I will do my best to help you to prepare for an exam or generally improve your knowledge on a subject.
I am well-organized, responsible, calm and get on with children very well.
I am also a natural Russian speaker so I can help you with it in case you need it

Teaching Experience:

Prospero teaching March 2017 - present
Worked as a personal tutor to help students prepare for their Science GSCEs

September 2013 - October 2013
Worked as a chemistry teacher in my high school (graduated in May 2013)

Tutoring Approach:

The main purpose of my teaching is to help rather than criticise. I never yell or get nervous and I am ready to explain the material as many times as needed in different ways as every person is unique and needs a different approach. I also try to make my lessons as interactive as possible because I understand that some things are not that interesting but believe me Science is amazing and I will do my best to share my passion with you and keep you engaged
