Personal Description:
Friendly and informal, I tailor tutoring to individual needs. I am married with a young family and enjoy the flexibility that tutoring gives me with my business hours. I see tutoring as a valuable resource for the student who can gain great insight in a one to one session

Teaching Experience:

I have been a personal tutor for over 12 years, helping many students with maths and sciences, mostly at GCSE level. In addition I have experience as a Lecturer at The University of Huddersfield and at Wakefield District College. Where I taught computer science and I.T.

Since 2000 I have been looking to focus more on music and to develop this as my specialism. I can assist with Music theory up to around Grade 5 and Piano and Keyboards from beginner to intermediate level.

Tutoring Approach:

Individually tailored to the student. I prefer a sytematic approach, followed up by individual study by the student. I regularly assess student progress to ensure full understanding and encourage background reading for breadth of knowledge.

Personal Description:
I choose to study mathematics for my degree as an interests. (so is my interest for physics) After the studies, it is come to me I should share my enthusiasm to younger students as well. Private tutoring as a part time job is a good point to start, with the help from me, I hope students to find the subjects more interesting rather than a dull subject to part in the school.

Teaching Experience:

Qualification-wise, I've got A for Mathematics & Physics at A-Level, obtained MA Mathematics (Hons) from Edinburgh University and MSc Mathematics from King's College London.
Experience-wise, I've become a private tutor for three years now and I had taught over 200 students. The subject include mathematics, physics and mandarin. Range from KS3 to degree level.
Dec 2012 - Feb 2013: Teaching Assistant at Lister Community School
Oct 2014 - Jun 2015: Maths & Mandarin Tutor at Greig City Academy

Tutoring Approach:

For the mathematics and physics teaching, I believe the conceptional understanding is much more important than memorize the method. Once the concept has been absorbed, the method of solving problem become rather trivial. Of course to maximize the efficiency of learning, an interests in the subject is essential. Hence I'd like to increase the students engagement by given information on more practical use of the knowledge or more news on advanced study.

Note: for people asking for university level maths. I will ask lecture notes or at least syllabus. Though undergraduate maths is taught at similar level, there are variation for each modules due to each lecturers' style. Just list a module name hardly tells what topics are required to study. Lecture notes are used to see the way that particular lecture taught, otherwise give me a syllabus I shall use my own lecture notes.

Personal Description:
I was born in Madrid where I trained as a primary teacher and musician (cellist).
In 2003 I moved to South London where I currently live with my husband and our daughter.

I have a strong academic background and in my tutoring work I am reliable, flexible and experienced. I have been working in the UK for more than 10 years as a Music and Language tutor. I moved to London in 2003 and spent 5 years teaching Music in a popular independent prep school in Wimbledon. It was then when I realised my passion for teaching my culture and mother tongue and studied a masters while tutoring A-levels and GCSE. Later worked for Tower Hamlets council at the Children's language service for over a year and then went into Home tuition at Secondary level for children learning at mainstream school, Otherwise education and at alternative schools.
For more details please check out my eduBlog on blogger: Teaching Spanish with Technology.

Teaching Experience:

Professionally qualified (DfES number RP 04/31188) and registered with the General Teaching Council of England since 2004, with 16 years experience of working with students from different nationalities and backgrounds.

My interests in education are: authentic learning, autonomous learning, home education, blended learning and helping learners building international links.
As part of a distance-learning Masters degree in association with the Universidad de León, I carried out a research project
using a democratic approach called Community Language Learning. In this approach there is no syllabus or textbook to follow.
It is the learners themselves who determine the content by means of meaningful conversations.
It incorporates translation, transcription and recording techniques. See lessSee less of undefined summary

Tutoring Approach:

Bespoke tuition.

Personal Description:
A maths graduate from the University of Liverpool. Since graduating I have gained significant experience in the commercial, education and charity sectors. a former Commercial director of a regional airport and later having set up the School of Artisan Food I have a wide range of work and life experience which all provide very useful material for my teaching.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience of private tuition dating back to my time at University.

In recent years, I have taught Finance at the University of Derby and my module enjoyed one of the highest pass rates for the year.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to help the student understand the subject, and not only understand the subject but also how the subject is applied in real life, and indeed to their own lives. I have found this really helps the student to be able to grasp the subject.

We all want exam results, but I like the students to understand what we are doing as this way they get skills that will stay with them long after the exams are over.

I am quite an engaged tutor who is responsible and adaptable to the student. I do not have a one size fits all mentality, in fact it is because I don't have this I enjoy private tutoring. I like to work with the students and build their strengths and help them with any difficulties they may be having.

Personal Description:
I am an experienced teacher of both classics and modern languages, and have taught in a variety of secondary schools. I have stopped classroom teaching now because of the demands of a young family but I am keen to carry on teaching in a different capacity. I am passionate about languages, words and communication and love to share this with others. I have lived abroad for prolonged periods in France and Italy, and travel to see friends there whenever possible.

Teaching Experience:

Since completing my PGCE in 1992 I have taught Latin, Greek, French and Italian, from beginners to A level and Oxbridge, in secondary schools, both private and state. More recently I have been giving private lessons to both adults and teenagers.
***PLEASE NOTE THAT I TEACH ANCIENT GREEK, NOT MODERN! The UK tutors website does not give Ancient Greek as an option in the drop down list. I am not able to teach modern Greek.

Tutoring Approach:

Successful language teaching should combine a fun approach using oral practice including song lyrics and games with a more structured approach to grammar; this gives the student confidence that they really understand the language used. The advantage of private lessons is that I can focus on what the individual learner wants, which might be lots of oral practice to become more proficient at speaking, or to pass a specific exam. I do like to set homework from week to week as this is an important part of progress; but it is not compulsory!

Personal Description:
I am different and kind teaching tutor as well as my responsibilities as a tutor will be to find not only what motivates each student to learn but also what motivates them to misbehave. If we can meet them at that point and take away that motivation, we can go a long way towards a more effective classroom and learning experience.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently studying BSC Business Management with Finance in University at London. I am new tutor so hence I feel that student will able to learn from me if I explain it to them in a respectable manner. Students will need to learn in order to achieve good grades so to do that they must have a positive attitude towards their own learning, attend the sessions on time, improve by practising as much times as possible to get it right.

Tutoring Approach:

I have qualification such GCSE's, A levels and will soon join University in London for degree in BSC Business Management with Finance. I feel that I can achieve and help a student to gain improvements within their grades. My teaching is different as I teach slowly so the student could gain the knowledge and understands it, so hence I teach into steps so the student could learn. No point rushing as this will put stress on the student mind which could be a very concerning issue of health.
(Please Note: you must not force anyone to learn quickly or they will struggle with their studies).

Personal Description:
Having successfully completed a PhD in History in 2011 following a BA in History (2005) and MA in Medieval History (2006), I have recently authored a book on Cultural Trends in Medieval Poetry, set to be published by E.J. Brill in 2016. I have tutored English for many years, specialising in language analysis and literary interpretation. My work has involved assisting with Controlled Assessments, prose and poetry analysis and exam preparation.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored students preparing for SATs, GCSEs and A-Levels, and have taught all major texts at GCSE and A-Level including poetry anthologies. I have also taught at Royal Holloway, University of London, where I recently completed a post-doctorate tenure in Politics and International Relations (2012-2015). I am currently an Honorary Research Associate at the University. I have further tutored, most recently, child genius Jasamrit Rahala, Slough.

Tutoring Approach:

I have learnt that what many students often find difficult is language analysis in their prose and poetry texts. It is also what usually deprives them of the higher marks. My tutoring is tailored to ensure that students gain a thorough understanding of texts, and are able to effectively interpret and comment on them. I prepare students for outstanding pieces of controlled assessment work and also help with general English work and exam practice.

Personal Description:
I have recently retired from full-time teaching but remain very active in the field of education. Apart from private tuition, I work as a consultant for schools both locally and nationally; I am a highly rated examiner for AQA and I deliver courses on their behalf to schools and teachers.

Teaching Experience:

I taught both Economics and Business Studies at GCSE and A level with great success in terms of examination success; for most of that time I was head of a large department.

Tutoring Approach:

Students find that I am easy to relate to. I am very calm and friendly by nature, the vast experience I have of working with students aged 14-19 means that I feel very comfortable working with young people. This is something which appears not to diminish with age! The depth of knowledge I have means that I can recognize whether or not a student has full understanding of ideas and if they have not I am able to find alternative ways of explaining until the concept has been grasped. A particular strength lies in my careful and detailed analysis of past examination papers to ensure that I cover the things which are needed and avoid the things which are not.
For students who do not live in the Lincolnshire area I am able to provide on-line tuition.

Personal Description:
I have a Diploma in Fine Art and a Degree in Art. I am also a qualified teacher and manage a very successful full time art education business, which takes me across Hertfordshire and into London to teach children, teens and adults. My own work explores the fine arts and has been shown in galleries across Australia. When I am not teaching or coordinating arts education programmes for public spaces I spend time working on my own artworks. I love to teach art, its highly rewarding and meaningful to give students the skills to be creative.

Teaching Experience:

I have 8 years teaching experience with children aged 4-19 years old and 2 years experience teaching adults. I have taught for schools, galleries, courses and privately. I am currently teaching art classes for 5 schools and have several regular private students. I can teach pencil, pen, charcoal, chalk pastel, watercolour, oil and acrylic paint. I have coached many students through their GCSEs, A Levels and university portfolios. Students can either come to my studio or I can visit you!

Feedback from customers:

"Thank you so much for helping my daughter get her portfolio ready, she couldn't have done it without your guidance and its been a pleasure having you in our home. Thank you!" - Terry, mum of Tara (16 years)

"I never knew there was so much to learn about art! My 2 children loving having their very own art tutor, its developed their ability and they can now do artwork with confidence" - Maya, mum of Nicola & Jake (10 & 12 years)

"Amber was recommended to me to help my son put a portfolio together in order to apply for graphic design BA courses. The catch was, there were only two weeks to do so. Amber introduced him to new techniques and media with which he was able to create great pieces of work, she advised him on the structure and the visual layout of his portfolio and how to make it look fit for university interviews. She was amazingly accommodating and flexible at all times. With her work, she not only inspired my son but the rest of us as well - She is an amazing artist indeed! most importantly, my son got offered and accepted a place in Falmouth Universtity (his first choice). He continues to explore the techniques Amber taught him and has got confidence to venture further afield with his art. I hope to have some tutoring from Amber for myself and my daughter in the future too. A truly inspirational, calm and relaxing art adventure. Thank you Amber! We were very lucky to find you." - Renata, mum of Lucas (18 years)

Tutoring Approach:

As a qualified teacher I have a very calm approach to teaching because the journey and the end result are as important as each other. I have creative problem solving skills and I am able to encourage and support students to push past their personal creative barriers. I always bring a smile and a sense of humour to classes because its important for students to feel comfortable around me.

To every private class I teach I bring an easel or board and a range of materials to save you time and money. I spend a lot of time planning and preparing so that the student gets the best from the time spent with me.

Personal Description:
I am Cambridge graduate and A level and GCSE biology teacher who is looking to take on a few tutees. I have over 15 years teaching experience and was head of biology at my previous school.

Teaching Experience:

I am an experienced A level biology tutor who has taught all of the examining board specifications. I have tutored students at all levels of ability and many of these have scored A s and gone on to Oxbridge or Russel group universities . Before becoming a teacher, I worked full time as a private tutor for 7 years which I enjoyed immensely. I have missed both the challenges and the emotional rewards of private tutoring and am now looking for students with whom I can work to help achieve their aspired grades in biology. Over the course of my teaching and tutoring I have build up a large resource of past papers, challenging and informative questions and many approaches to teaching difficult subjects. I also regularly work as an examiner on A level papers and so can offer extensive advice on exam technique and the best approaches to answering questions.

Tutoring Approach:

I am enthusiastic and patient and have been told that I offer a friendly and safe learning environment where students feel supported but also motivated and challenged to improve both their understanding and grades
