Personal Description:
I am a postgraduate from the University of Leeds with a degree in Translation Studies with French. I have a passion for speaking French and I enjoy helping others with theirs. Simple as that really.

Teaching Experience:

Despite my relatively young age I have lots of teaching experience. I have been an English language assistant in France on two occasions, most recent of which was last year. I have worked with people with both adults and children ranging from ages 7 to 40

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is fairly straight-forward, to keep it relaxed and as informal as possible. I believe the best results can be obtained when the student is relaxed and confident, especially with regards to trying to speak a foreign language, as sometimes in a school environment the student lacks the confidence to ask questions. Rest assured, under my tuition your competence in written and spoken French will improve greatly, and hopefully it will be fun!

I teach keyboard grades (Jazz 1-5) and Theory (1-5) and general keyboard lessons (Pop songs) to ages 7 and over. The student would need to be based in East London (perferably Newham) and Essex (perferably Barking, Ilford or Dagenham)

I am very familiar with the type of questions that students will face in these exams and what is needed to do well in them. I am always passionate for tutoring and I know how to make students' learning process enjoyable. Imperial College London
MSc. in Pure Mathematics (Distinction)

King's College London
Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Mathematics) (PGCE)

LSE (London School of Economics and Political Science)
BSc in Mathematics (First Class Honours)

Tutoring Approach:

Quality is everything for me. International Student Assessment (ISA) shows that Chinese students ranked best in the world at maths ( UK is ranked 28th for maths, Source: google "Shanghai students ranked best in the world at maths and science", The Telegraph).

As a British Chinese, I can tell you the secret of Chinese learning maths. I have a unique method of tutoring which can be adapted whatever the skill level and also unique exam techniques. But my first objective is to target my students' enthusiasm for the subject so they will be passionate to learn mathematics. Practice is also essential for learning maths, but a good tutor knows how to design different questions for effective practice. Finally,I usually believe that learning is a continuing process and if I am honored to be your tutor, I can not only help you learn the knowledge, but also master the art of learning until one day, you will be able to help others like I do.

Personal Description:
I am very passionate about the teaching and learning of maths and endeavour to ignite the same enthusiasm in those I teach.

Teaching Experience:

I am a fully qualified maths teacher currently in my fifth year teaching at an outstanding school in Grays, Essex.

Tutoring Approach:

Working in an outstanding secondary school provides me with the experience of working with large classes and small groups. The benefits of one-to-one tuition are clear as each student receives more dedicated time and attention with the lesson tailored to their specific weaknesses.

I believe a strong grasp of methodology is the key to gaining a deeper understanding of maths and far outweighs just getting specific questions 'right'.

I have been a personal tutor for 15 years now and have helped many young people to achieve better grades in their GCSE and AS/A level qualifications.
I have also been an Adult Education Tutor for 16 years, teaching literacy up to pre GCSE levels.
I live in Great Malvern most of the time, where I am available for home tuition.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experience has been with post 16 learners of literacy.

Tutoring Approach:

I specialise in working with under confident pupils who need to 'home in' on their skills to get a better grade and with those who need to understand a particular area of their studies to improve their grade.
My style is to find out, with the learner, what needs to be worked on and focus on that, in a relaxed but achievement enhancing style. This has produced very positive results.

Personal Description:
I work as a Maths Academic Mentor in a local secondary school. I work with students on the borderline of success. My job is to raise their understanding of Maths and to help them raise their attainment along the way to getting a grade 'C' in Maths.
I am very reliable, flexible to your childs learning style with an open mind and a non judgemental attitude.

Teaching Experience:

I spend my time at school in identifying students who are not working at their potential levels in Maths. I work across all the years, but specifically Years 10/11.
Once identified, I work with students in class, one to one, or with small groups and also afterschool. The majority of students in my group will be around the grade D/C borderline and my job is to take them that one step forwards to a secure grade C and then onwards to higher grades. However, I can help your child Improve at any level including A and A*.
This is what I do everyday and over the years I have built a very firm understanding of the aspects of Maths and the specific topics which cause students to lose marks.

Tutoring Approach:

It's important to build relations with students, to promote confidence and encourage independent learning.

This takes time, but once I identify the areas of difficulty for the student. I can target those areas (Fractions, Factorising, Percentages for example) and along with the major 12 topics of Maths which contain the 'must get' marks, I can help your child to make weekly progress by teaching, practising and then testing, to check their learning is progressing. .

Personal Description:
A resident of Edinburgh for the past twelve years I enjoy meeting new people and learning new things myself. I am fairly well travelled, enjoy the arts and have a passion for working alongside others to help them achieve their goals.

I am a professional actor with degree level qualifications in both Philosophy (Dundee University) and Acting (Queen Margaret University College).

Teaching Experience:

I have worked with adults in improving spoken and written English for UK degree entry level. I have also worked with college and university students in the Middle East (UAE) to train science and drama education in both Arabic and English.

For several years I have visited schools in both the public and private sectors delivering reading, drama and science communication classes.

I have regularly taught 5-15 years drama in private classes and enjoy working with pre-drama school entrants of all ages in working on giving the best entrance audition possible.

Tutoring Approach:

I am confident at creating a structured approach that works with a pupil's own strengths and needs to provide a tailor-made package for learning.

Ideally I meet with each student to discuss their learning needs, current level and expected outcomes.

Although it is important to push the boundaries of learning, it should always be a workload that is both manageable and individually tailored.

People learn best when they are enjoying themselves, so I try my best to make learning fun and interactive.

Personal Description:
As a recent university graduate, I offer a closer bond with students than most tutors due to the lesser age gap. Many exams that students struggle with are ones that I myself have taken, so I can empathise and relate to issues students face on a better level than older tutors. I graduated in English Literature from UEA with a 2:1, achieved A*AA at A Level in English, Philosophy and History, and obtained 10 GCSEs at A* to A and 2 more at B. I was educated at Wilson's School in Surrey which during my time there was consistently ranked as one of the best boys' state schools in the country, and indeed was at number 1 in the rankings for a few years while I was there.

I am currently working towards an MA qualification with a view to going on to a PhD to pursue a career in academic lecturing and tutoring.

Teaching Experience:

Most of my experience comes from being on the receiving end of teachers and tutors from entrance exam up until university, and understanding their shortcomings and failings and what could have been done better. Crucially, I understand student mentalities and what students want and need at all levels. I have tutored Year 5-6s in Maths and Year 10-11s in English so far. Since joining UK Tutors I have taught a 9 year old in writing skills and a 15 year old in GCSE English.

Tutoring Approach:

I offer a fun and friendly way of helping the student to realise their full potential through going over schoolwork, practice papers and other forms of assessment - but critically, I focus on talking with and building a relationship with the student. I don't want them to see tutoring as just another school classroom with another teacher - it should be a fun and intellectually stimulating environment that they enjoy participating in. My experience has shown that if the student is enjoying themselves, they will perform to a far better standard.

I can offer high level teaching in English and History, as well as Philosophy, Critical Thinking and German to an A Level standard, Maths and Sciences up to GCSE standard, other subjects can be discussed.

Crucially, I was a master at dealing with exam pressure and good coursework - I will provide expert tutoring for students suffering from exam stress and help them to format and write essays for coursework. As I did much of the same things just a few years ago, I understand better than anyone what it feels like!

Personal Description:
I am a PhD Candidate at the Glasgow Caledonian University, with Wireless Optical Communication as my area of research. I have earned my Bachelors' and Masters' degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering, and have been a top-performer, academically, all throughout my education. My stronghold is basic as well as advanced Mathematics. I am also well-versed with the core concepts of Electronics and wired/wireless Communication.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored students for more than 5 years working part-time whilst I was pursuing my bachelors and masters degree. I have taught young students Maths, Science and English. I have also been catering to the needs of students pursuing higher education, specifically in Electrical and Communications engineering, where I helped them out with core concepts of related subjects.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in active learning, a quality which I try to bestow to my students as well. All students have their own way of understanding concepts, and each takes his/her own time to grasp those concepts. I am very patient with all my students and try to explain things in a manner in which they would easily comprehend. I also encourage my students to take down notes, which I believe is an easier and faster way of learning things.

Personal Description:
Hi there! My name is Alex I am 23 years old and a Biological Sciences graduate from Leicester University.

I know how tough getting into medical school is. Getting the grades are the first step to getting in, however, it is vitally important to know how to go about preparing for interview, tackle the UKCAT and write a personal statement.

Last year I was fortunate enough to gain all my offers post-interview from my universities including: Newcastle, Keele, Southampton. My UKCAT score both years running was 2930. At my Keele interview I scored 46/50 points (cut-off was 35), and subsequently chose this university, but everyone is different! The interviews at these universities included; MMI, team-based, and panel interviews which I worked hard at to learn how to go about practicing for these.

I really want to help others who really have a passion to study medicine at university, and I believe I can be a great help. I have this summer to help you out with how to go about interview preparation, how to succeed in UKCAT and help you with personal statements.

First hour of tutoring I will do at half price (12.50). From then onward its 25 per hour, 40 for two hours.

It is also important to note that if you require Biology teaching, from GCSE, to A level, to degree level I can also provide this. I achieved a 1st Class in my degree, and 80% in my dissertation.

If you have any questions at all about what I can offer you please don't hesitate to call me and leave a message, or text me.

Many thanks, Alex.

Teaching Experience:

In the past 6 months I have been tutoring on and off with prospective medical students. As I only got into university to study medicine last September.

However I have been an assistant tennis coach since 16 years old, therefore teaching is something I enjoy doing and am no stranger to. Helping somebody get into this fantastic career would be great.

Tutoring Approach:

I am incredibly patient and always willing to listen to any questions you may have. I don't have a set style I am flexible to the person and what they want out of the tutoring. Overall my aims to get out of this are to make you as prepared as possible to get into medical school.

If you are after Biology tutoring again it is all about you. If you are a visual learner, auditory learner or a reading/writing learner I can accommodate to all these ways of teaching. As well as teaching on how to improve long-term memory and retain knowledge.
