Personal Description:
I'm a University of Glasgow Biochemistry and MSc International Project Management graduate. I'm a French national and have been living in the UK for 21 years. I'm a lovely person, very dynamic and love the one to one of tutoring. It makes me really happy to help someone achieve something they have worked so hard for.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring privately now for 13 years and have seen my students come to grow in confidence, in understanding and in knowledge of their chosen topics. I saw a girl who I tutored for 7 months go from getting an 'Unclassified grade' in her Biology AS Level to a B in her A2. I have never seen a student of mine's grades stay the same post-tutoring and I am very proud of that.

Tutoring Approach:

I approach tutoring different ways depending on who the student is. I ask them questions about themselves, hobbies, favourite subjects etc; and then using that to better understand how they learn, I talk to them about their private learning and revision and the method of approach to that and to exams. And then I teach them using the method appropriate to their style of learning. I also set plenty of work and get them to do past papers which I send to them in the first week. I then take these away and mark them in my own time and return with a deeper view of where they are going wrong after they have been taught. I do 2hr concentrated sessions either weekly or fornightly and have seen great results not only in grades but also in enthusiasm for learning. I am also on hand to discuss career and university options too, which helps ease the daunting choices the students have to make.

I am a retired lecturer from Sri Lanka, and I have been teaching Economics, Business Studies and marketing in Schools (Edexcel Specifications), Academic levels and professional levels in Sri Lanka.

Teaching Experience:

I have more than 15 years of teaching experience (Lecturing). The theories what I have studied and have been teaching is universal. When I teach any subjects mentioned above, I always quote UK examples and also world examples and refers to UK case studies where its appropriate. Over the past few years I have prepared many students successfully in Economics and business studies In AQA, Ed excel and OCR specifications. In any syllabus specification the theories are same,
Home visits are possible with in 15 miles from SM6 area and can consider other areas with prior negotiations.

Tutoring Approach:

I follow the syllabus provided by the exam board, to teach each topic. Then I go through past papers, explain how to answer the questions. I expect students to do the papers at home and give to me for marking. I go through their answers and explain how to answer the questions. My teaching approach is, first I assess the student's current knowledge regarding the subject and thereafter I pitch accordingly. I use simple language and current examples in explaining the theories and concepts. Also I give and discuss past papers with the student and guide them in the correct method in answering a question. I give home work from selected past papers. I prepare a simplified handout for every lesson and this handout is the final reading material for the examination. Sometimes I dictate short notes during the lesson and my teaching sessions are interactive, where the students are encouraged to ask questions and express their current knowledge about the subject. At present there are number of satisfied students. I am unable to disclose their identities with out prior permission from them. My first lesson is free of charge. So that the student will have a chance to judge my approaches to teaching, subject knowledge, my mannerism etc.

Personal Description:
Hi! I am Ana, a 23 years old Spanish girl currently looking for job in London.

I have a degree in human nutrition and dietetics, the Proficiency English Cambridge certificates and an 120 hours advance TEFL certificate. This summer I attended a course in the renown University of Nebrija to form people to teach Spanish as a second language and it was fascinating.

I love music, art, health science, English language, meeting people, reading, cycling and travelling.

My mother is a teacher and I have always liked helping my classmates with any doubts they had, so it would be my absolute pleasure to share my knowledge with who ever needs it.

Teaching Experience:

I taught English to children when I was in the university in Spain, and as an au pair I always try to teach my children anything I can, from art or music to reading, writing or helping with homework.

Tutoring Approach:

It depends a lot on the age as well as the subject. So basically we will talk it trough and try to work which ever way suits both of us the best.

Personal Description:
I am a voracious reader, and was therefore tempted to choose English as my main subject in university, but eventually decided on French. I studied at Stanford University for four years, including one year through its study abroad programme in Paris. I have also worked many years as a professional musician, touring in the UK, Europe, USA and Mexico.

Teaching Experience:

I taught English to high school students for one year in France.
In a night school in Utah (USA) I taught English as a second language to adults.
I have taught music (guitar, ukulele and piano) for nearly 10 years.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in student-centred teaching, so rather than impose strict rules I approach each student as an individual in order to find the best approach for gaining skills and confidence in the subject. Structure is also important, however, and it's important to use exercises and repetition to really come to terms with a subject. Games and songs have their place, too; let's have fun while we're learning!

Personal Description:
I'AM AAT QUALIFIED AND ACCA FINALIST. I do lecture on-line via Skype and also could meet you up for one to one basis

Teaching Experience:

I have taught on many aspects of accountancy subjects, these include F6 Taxation, F2 Management accounting, F3 Financial Accounting, F7 Financial Reporting and F8 Audit & Assurance, which are subjects on ACCA syllabus. I have also taught on AAT (to include all units) and ABE syllabus on similar subjects and I posses a profound understanding of my chosen subjects and capable of teaching them effectively.
My excellent understanding of double entry accounting procedures provide me with the basis of dealing with various aspects of reconciliations i.e.; control account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, VAT reconciliation and dealing all aspect of ledger accounts. I also have an excellent understanding of Sage line 50 and 100 and had also used many accounting packages. Recently I worked with East Surrey College on a contract basis teaching Financial Statements, Personal Tax, and Financial Performance (AAT Level 4).

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is to groom my students in a flexible manner towards passing their exams and ensuring that my lectures are carried out in a friendly and conductive environment that involves every student. I believed that teaching is a social institution as much as it is a profession, hence partnering with my students by becoming one of them provides me that yardstick to which a good relationship between us is established.

The emotional and social (pastoral) platform I created enable free communication between us and giving me that opportunity to gain their trust and their cooperation. The ramification of this is their countenance when they work in the morning and their readiness to discuss issues or their concerns with me.

My approach to teaching is methodical, resulting from the principle of hard working and professional discipline; my scheme of work and lesson plans are well prepared ahead of the start the course and handed over to my students at the very first day of every semester. Also the weekly lesson plans are given to my students one week in advance of the lectures. I always seek to start every topic within a syllabus with a tutorial question that provides student with that rudiment or fundamental principles in which that topic is enshrined.

I like the idea of interactive class, as a result I used questions as a means of communicating my lectures with my students and ensuring every student within the class is involved. I moved from one table to the other and where necessary I dealt with student on a one to one basis if I felt a particular student seemed to be lacking behind. Passing any paper within any accountancy professions require a lot of reading and treating many past questions by students.

Note that my rate is £40 flat rate if you are only requesting for one hour tuition . I DO NOT DO HOME VISIT. Please do not contact me for home visit please. Thanks!

Personal Description:
Currently, I am a Lecturer at London Metropolitan University in Chemistry (Bachelor level) and Visitor research scientist follow at The Open University. I am a PhD degree (Full-time study) holder in Chemistry from The Open University and Master's and Bachelor degrees in Chemistry from Bordeaux 1 University, France. I have been a tutor in Chemistry, Maths, Physics, French and Arabic with different agencies in London.
I am able to teach Chemistry for all level and Maths, Physics, French and Arabic for GCSE or National 3-5 and Secondary (11 to 14 years) students.

Teaching Experience:

I have taken every opportunity to develop my teaching skills while working at London Metropolitan University and The Open University. These include chemistry laboratory teaching, mentoring and training of both undergraduate and postgraduate students. I have also participated in various educational projects in other universities. For example, at the University of Bordeaux I, Science and Technology in France,

I strive to vary my teaching style to meet the learning needs of individual students. I have received high performance reviews for my ability to creatively make complex topics manageable. I am patient creative organized and
energetic.
Schools and universities focus on conveying a large amount of information to their students. But for most people that is not enough to create genuine understanding and an ability to answer exam questions. That is why many students, regardless of their ability, seek to get extra help from a private tutor.

My aim as a tutor is to create in my students a deep understanding and confidence in answering exam questions and being able to tackle new and unfamiliar problems. My philosophy is based on the idea that learning happens in an environment of mutual respect in which the student is encouraged to think and make new connections for themselves. My experience has been that one-to-one personal tuition has a unique value to students because of the ability to resolve the students' personal barriers to learning in a way that lays the foundations for a deep and lasting understanding of the subject.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach varies depending on the student's needs and learning style. However my teaching philosophy is based on encouraging students to think for themselves, using real-world examples wherever possible. I start from topics the students are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I use questions and examples to check understanding continually. I don't lecture to students or ask them to memorise things. Nor do I do the students' homework for them!

I usually focus on exam-style or past paper questions in order to check, practice and perfect the student's understanding and technique. I also give a lot of emphasis to some of the less obvious but vital skills such as essay structure and technique, logical thought, and the effective use of numbers and graphs.

I believe passionately in the huge value of tutoring to students and take great satisfaction in seeing my students achieve their full potential.

Personal Description:
I am a high achieving MSc Civil and Structural Engineering graduate with excellent work and study pedigree. I graduated with Distinction from Coventry University, United Kingdom. I am currently carrying out a PhD research in Engineering in Coventry University. My experiences so far has enabled me to build a broad range of leadership and interpersonal skills. Therefore, I am able to manage challenging behavior and communicate effectively with people from diverse background.

Teaching Experience:

I have a strong passion for teaching mathematics, logical and quantitative reasoning concepts. My ability to grasps the basic ideas in maths have allowed me to excel in technical concepts in Engineering. I have an experience of teaching undergraduates through the support assistant role in the university. I have had a one-on-one experience teaching and supporting an undergraduate student with great success in his studies and research work. I am really desirous of further developing my skills as a tutor in mathematics. This will enable me to further build a strong career as a teacher and lecturer. I served as a maths and computer education teacher in a secondary school during my compulsory national youth service just after my graduation from the university. I have had the experience of learning and applying real life mathematics concepts of trigonometry and algebra as an engineer working in the construction industry. A typical example of this was in the development of survey data for the design of roads and in the preparation of bill of quantities.

Tutoring Approach:

As a maths tutor, I have the aim of creating in students the ability to understand the basic ideas in mathematics. I also do aspire to instill in students the confidence that aids excellence in problem - solving especially in examinations as well as in answering questions to unfamiliar problems. My philosophy is based on the idea that the capacity to grasps and retain the needed skills is to relate mathematics with real life experiences. This then easily creates the atmosphere for the development of real passion for learning and appreciating the subject. Hence, I do not strive to make the student quote the ideas and the notions involved in the subject, instead I encourage the student draw analogies. Even though my approach does vary depending on the needs and learning style of the student involved, I do aim to foster independence in the student by encouraging deep critical thinking. After teaching a particular topic in mathematics, my method of assessment is to test the student's understanding through additional problems and humorous games that relate to the topic. Also, in order to assess the level of my teaching strategy, I do request feedback from the student on a regular basis.

Teaching Experience:

Currently, I am preparing Year 10 and 11 students for their GCSE (AQA specification) in German at Pimlico Academy. This involves the tutoring for the four assessments; Speaking, Writing, Listening and Reading; as well as conducting the Speaking and Writing examinations. For every class I also create my own exercises and material.
For over five years, as a 'Pädagogische Fachkraft', an after school supervisor and teaching assistant, in Germany, I was responsible for the supervision of one classroom for the homework and daily revision to aid the students in their learning and to provide additional assistance. In this capacity I supported students across all subjects with a particular focus on English, German, History and Math. The students attended Year 5 to 10.
My work as an extra-curricular Drama teacher for Years 5 and 6 involved the teaching of the basics of acting and to provide a fundamental understanding of the theatre. I supported the students to develop their own understanding of stagecraft and created a room for the discovery of their personal creativity and confidence which also involved the creation of my own exercises to improve body language and speech.

In addition to my practical experience I have theoretical background from my university degrees and professional training. As an undergraduate degree I studied a Bachelor of Arts in Education and History and continued with a Master of Arts in Theatre Pedagogy. Furthermore, I am a German native speaker and hold a Montessori Certificate having received training in the teaching methods of Montessori education specifically for secondary schools.

Tutoring Approach:

My personal approach to tutoring is to support students in their academic learning and personal development.
I apply Montessori methods in my teaching material and base all exercises on the level and skill of the tutee.
With my work I want to help students to reach their full potential.
