Personal Description:
I choose to study mathematics for my degree as an interests. (so is my interest for physics) After the studies, it is come to me I should share my enthusiasm to younger students as well. Private tutoring as a part time job is a good point to start, with the help from me, I hope students to find the subjects more interesting rather than a dull subject to part in the school.

Teaching Experience:

Qualification-wise, I've got A for Mathematics & Physics at A-Level, obtained MA Mathematics (Hons) from Edinburgh University and MSc Mathematics from King's College London.
Experience-wise, I've become a private tutor for three years now and I had taught over 200 students. The subject include mathematics, physics and mandarin. Range from KS3 to degree level.
Dec 2012 - Feb 2013: Teaching Assistant at Lister Community School
Oct 2014 - Jun 2015: Maths & Mandarin Tutor at Greig City Academy

Tutoring Approach:

For the mathematics and physics teaching, I believe the conceptional understanding is much more important than memorize the method. Once the concept has been absorbed, the method of solving problem become rather trivial. Of course to maximize the efficiency of learning, an interests in the subject is essential. Hence I'd like to increase the students engagement by given information on more practical use of the knowledge or more news on advanced study.

Note: for people asking for university level maths. I will ask lecture notes or at least syllabus. Though undergraduate maths is taught at similar level, there are variation for each modules due to each lecturers' style. Just list a module name hardly tells what topics are required to study. Lecture notes are used to see the way that particular lecture taught, otherwise give me a syllabus I shall use my own lecture notes.

Personal Description:
I have just returned from a year as a Graduate music tutor at Wanganui Collegiate School, New Zealand. Before this, I graduated from the University of Oxford in June 2010, having studied Music at Oriel College under the tutorship of Dr. David Maw. I was educated as a music scholar at Eton College, Windsor before moving to the Perse School, Cambridge for sixth form study. Aside of a huge passion and enthusiasm for music study and tuition, I am an avid sportsman having represented both my university and county youth level in cricket. I also played a number of sports for my college during my time at Oriel. Currently, I am studying for a Masters in Musicology at Durham University with a specialism in the orchestral music of Gerald Finzi. In addition, I am also the Senior Organ Scholar at St. John's College. I have recently accepted a teaching post at Brighton College to begin in September 2012.

Teaching Experience:

Having just returned from a year as a graduate music tutor at Wanganui Collegiate School in New Zealand, I feel that I am in touch with both school teaching and more specifically, more private music tuition. During my year experience in New Zealand, I engaged very actively in the life of the music department. I have experience of basic music tuition with teaching of introductory concepts in the subject such as basic notation, theory, instrumentation and historical issues.
Further up the age spectrum, I have taught specific a level modules in a seminar type situation. With a completed Undergraduate Music degree from the University of Oxford, I have an extensive knowledge of theory, analysis, music history and specific tutoring skills in the study of the clarinet, piano and bassoon. I have taught music theory, clarinet and piano privately for 4 years.
This said, I am very happy to tutor at all levels, aiming to pass on my keen enthusiasm in the subject onto other keen and ambitious musicians whether they be starting out in the subject, or looking for extra assistance at A level and/or degree level. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at any time.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring style is designed to generate as much active involvement by the student as possible. Tutoring time is balanced according to the needs of the client between examination coaching (handwriting, mnemonic techniques, time/mark allocation discipline, revision styles) and subject content (probing and consolidating background knowledge, instilling enthusiasm, analysing key aspects of each topic).

In addition, I believe in addressing the needs of each child individually and working with them to help them understand how to work through a problem for themselves. Confidence is often the key and I am keen to work with them to improve the confidence in their own abilities in a varied and fun atmosphere.

Personal Description:
I am a French national who has been living in the UK for 4 years and tutoring for much of that time. I graduated in Business Communications from the University of Nancy in 2012.

I have given private tutoring for four years and also have worked for a langage company which allowed me to be sent into different schools to do some covering.

Currently working as a French tutor at King's School, Canterbury, I also enjoy tutoring privately because the atmosphere and the relation is totally different. Indeed, there is less pressure, more fun.

Teaching Experience:

I have a wide teaching experience as I have worked privately, for a language company and finally for a school.
I can teach from 3 years old to any age, or follow the school program and teach the elements needed to get a high grade. But I can also offer a lesson about what you need. For example I had a retired couple who wanted to spend their retirement in France so our lessons were about how to survive and express the everyday life needs in French.

Tutoring Approach:

Tutoring means ''learning with pleasure'' for me. That means that my aims are to make the student enjoy the lesson without having to just ''learn by heart''. I had to tutor some students just after their school day so I wanted it to be positively different.

For casual learners I take a flexible approach with the first focus on confidence in speaking, but if the student has specific exam needs I can tailor the lesson towards his/her goal, with more structured grammar lessons if necessary (after years of grammar lessons during my French schooling!). I never forget that I am a the ''French speaking guide'' and the student is the pilot.

I am a young professional who has been teaching for several years. Currently I teach a mixture of ICT, Computer Science & Business Studies. I believe in having a good rapport with the students I teach and use innovative and creative methods in my lessons to spark the engagement and development of my students. I have taught a whole collection of students at different levels and achieved a 100% pass rate with my students at KS4 & 5.

I have marked for the exam board OCR since 2014 and marked a mixture of OCR GCSE Computer Science and OCR Cambridge Nationals in ICT exam papers allowing me to provide useful insight into the exam marking systems used by exam boards.

Teaching Experience:

I currently teach at a secondary school in Leeds and teach from Key Stages 3 to 5. I currently have classes studying ICT, Computer Science and Business Studies. As part of my role I lead the Computer Science courses which include OCR Computing and the new OCR 9-1 Computer Science course. I have been private tutoring for the past 2 years which has included a wide variety of clients of different ages and abilities.

Before working in Leeds I have taught at two secondary schools in Sunderland and taught in Further Education at Gateshead College.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in using a variety of teaching methods to suit the needs of the student to ensure each individual person can succeed. Personal Description:
I am a French & British dual national. I grew up in France attending French schools throughout my lower education, but moved to the UK in 2010 to study Architecture at the University of Bath. I've always had a passion for languages, which led me to undertake further studies in German and Spanish, as well as to live in Germany for some time whilst still at school. !

Teaching Experience:

I started tutoring struggling students whilst still in Lycée, towards Maths, Physics, English or German Brevet (GCSE equivalent) or Baccalauréat. I've always found tutoring extremely rewarding and enjoyable, from both an academic and relational point of view, and have therefore committed more time to it particularly over the last year. I teach French and German primarily, and have taught a wide variety of students, from primary school-aged children to beginner adults, and helped students taking their GCSEs and A-levels.

Tutoring Approach:

This really depends on what you want to get out of the lessons! There is no single approach which will work with everybody so I am committed to finding out what works best for you! However we choose to go forward, I will always aim to make it fun and enjoyable, and make sure there is progress every session.

Unfortunately I am currently unable to arrange new lessons before 7.15pm on a weekday evening, except on Wednesdays.

Personal Description:
I am British but have spent most of my life in Latin America. I resettled in the UK in 2015 and currently live in Birmingham. I hold a PhD in Ethnic and African Studies from a prestigious Brazilian university. In order to be accepted by the PhD programme, I had to demonstrate exceptional fluency in Portuguese, both written and oral. My BA in English from the University of California, Los Angeles (First/Hons) amply qualifies me to tutor in English literature.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently tutoring in Portuguese, English Language and Literature (GCSE, A-Level and Graduate) and English as a Second Language (ESOL) in Birmingham and nearby cities. I taught English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in Brazil for many years. I have also lectured in English and Translation at a Brazilian university.

Tutoring Approach:

I always attempt to establish a rapport with my students to keep them at ease, focussing on the positive before going on to point out areas where they could improve. I am aware that, especially when learning a foreign language, students can be extremely sensitive about making mistakes, so I use methods that are designed to be non-threatening and non-critical, but always constructive.

"You were my inspiration as a PGCE student!! All the very best in your retirement!"
"He managed to get me a B grade at A level which I doubted was anywhere near possible....
He is highly knowledgeable, patient and most of all able to make science both fun and accessible. Making the concepts come alive made learning more fun but they also stuck around long enough in my grey matter for me to make the grade; far exceeding my expectations! I still remember the physical representation of entropy as he leapt from bench to floor! Immense! HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND I AM NOT EASILY IMPRESSED!!!"

Teaching Experience:

Ex-Head of Science and Head of Chemistry from a top, vibrant Bedfordshire Upper School. A highly experienced school chemistry teacher with over 30 years of experience in schools in UK, Australia and in one-to one private tuition.

Tutoring Approach:

Teaching and learning are complex processes whose success relies on a trusting relationship between student and teacher. Initially, I will question, listen, challenge and probe to discover a student depth of knowledge, ability to think scientifically and their aspirations. This will enable me to identify areas of weakness and work at developing confidence in expressing ideas orally and in writing. Finally, practising exam questions will help develop in-depth understanding and skills of problem solving and analysis.

Personal Description:
I'm a cheerful and 22 year old girl, willing to teach Spanish during this summer.
I am currently studying Medicine in Spain, where I live, but in my free time I like to teach and learn other languages.
I lived in different regions of the country, so you can say that my accent is neutral, and easy to understand.

Teaching Experience:

I started helping some friends to prepare some exams, and they later recommended me to other students, so I've been tutoring since 2010 on interrupted periods .

I've been a language tutor since 2015 focusing my attention on adults. I started with Spanish, adding English ( beginners) to my services.

Despite being insecure at first due to my young age, I feel completly confident now, and I realise that all my students made a remarcable improvement, and that I was helpful for their careers.

Tutoring Approach:

I'm quite flexible and creative, what makes me suitable for children and adults with different backgrounds, interest and ambitions.
I have broad experience working with children, so I know the best way to get their attention.

I am ready to adapt myself to each student, and their preferences . I had some students who only wanted to practice grammar, while others preferred a more complete approach ( vocabulary, writing or listening skills or , grammar).
