Personal Description:
I am a caring and patient teacher . I develop good relationships with my pupils and care about their general well being. I adapt teaching aproaches to suit individual pupils to enable them to engage with the learning in a postive and supportive way. Children say they like my lessons and enjoy being tutored by me.
If you home school your child I can provide tutoring of a specific subject area fit around your timetable and the way your child prefers to learn.
I am also a parent of boys with SEN,(dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism and adhd) and have a good knowledge of special education needs and the impact of these on teaching, learning and home life.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching for 5 years in the primary age range and really enjoy it. I have been privately tutoring for 6 years covering both all literacy areas and maths. I have up-to-date training in the new grammar, spelling and punctuation KS2 SAT's paper. In the area of spelling, I have current experience in the synthetic phonics approach. I have used this from the beginning stages in year 1, and also adapted teaching with the support of practical materials to pupils in KS2.
I can provide references from parents of current pupils.

I am able to support your child through the transition into secondary school, providing practical ideas to get ready and support during the first term to enable them to remain positive about their potential as a learner. I can also help advise on issues arising from difficulties in personal organisation from moving around the school to coping with having the right things in their bag on a daily basis.

I can tutor pupils through secondary education in English and English literature. I can support those who are experiencing dyslexic issues and need some support with homework.

Tutoring Approach:

I treat each child as an individual taking into account both parents and the pupils views and needs. I provide suport to catch up on missed areas of basic skills, which is delaying learning, as well as being able to support targets set by school for the pupils individual progress. Through an initial consultation I seek to find out what the needs are and, with parents and pupil, plan suitable help to reach their goals. I share objectives with parents and pupils and give regular feed back to both to reach those goals. I belive it is important for all to see progress is being made. With parents and pupils permission, I like to make contact with their teacher to work with class teacher in identifing areas of difficulty and planning appropriate support. I find that this approach give the maximum benefit for all concerned.
The greatest difference I make to my pupils is to increase their confidence which in turn enables them to be more willing to take part in whole class sessions at school. Teachers of at least 2 of my pupils have remarked on the difference in attitude of the pupils who I have tutored.

Personal Description:
I am a professional geography researcher specialised in regional geography and urban sciences. I have gained my knowledge and expertise from universities across Europe (Pécs, Wolverhampton, Maribor, Zagreb, and Ljubljana). I am currently a PhD Aspirant at the University of Pécs, Hungary.

I have been mainly researching in the field 'geography of energy', but my interests link my specification to other scientific disciplines such as sustainability, environmental sciences, and landscape geography, and I am able to perform and combine various geographical fields.

During my years as a PhD Student, I was given the chance to gain experience as a lecturer; teaching subjects which included: renewable energy resources and world regional geography. In 2015, I officially became a teacher after successfully completing my PGCE at the Birmingham City University in England.

As a teacher I have also gained experience in a prison setting teaching mathematics to a wide age range and ability of students and different learning levels, whilst I have been able to use the knowledge that I obtained from the course in practice.

Besides having published a number of articles and books, I am the founder and series editor of Frugeo's journal called Geographical Locality Studies.

I am a registered member of the Hungarian Geographical Society (MFT), and the Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ATL).

Teaching Experience:

Being a 'good' teacher is a subjective opinion that I cannot state about myself. I am experienced in a wide-range of teaching environments from primary/secondary school-aged pupils to adult/prison learning and higher education.

People who have observed me teaching in the past have had positive criticism of my work and mentioned how efficient and encouraging my lessons and teaching methods are. In my opinion, to be a good teacher it is essential to be flexible with the environment you work in and have to have comprehensive knowledge both in outdoors and in classroom settings. You have to experience and observe the outside world for you to engage and maintain properly an enthusiastic class when teaching geography.

The qualifications and the reputation I have obtained in Geography are the results of an enthusiasm I have had since my childhood for this subject area and it is still part of my daily life that comes to life through my own business and its journal.

Geography is not only my profession, but is also my hobby that is present in my life with all of its aspects, whether it be examining a piece of rock or talking about coffee beans, I can discuss both in an academic sense as well as out of personal interest. The diverse use of language therefore is important when encouraging others on geography and the key is to find a common interest between subject and receiver for them to understand and to be inspired by what they are learning. For example, when teaching in the prison, Mathematics combined with Geography suddenly becomes more interesting and therefore engaging.

Tutoring Approach:

For a researcher with a deep understanding about the Earth's mechanisms, Geography will always reserve a high number of mysteries. Research is the foundation for everything that is taught and this will always be exciting for me to do. But the implementation of this new knowledge may be challenging, that is why you have to keep thinking of new teaching methods to improve the quality of the subject that you are teaching. For this reason, it is essential to assist the younger generation for them to become capable to deal with geography related topics and issues.

As originally a researcher with a non-British educational background and with a very colourful and diverse interest in Earth Sciences, I am able to shake things up. My aim is to develop people's knowledge, foster their understandings on geography and help them achieve the required goals set by the school/exam board which I hope will motivate them into using geographical knowledge in their daily lives.

Personal Description:
Teaching has been my vocation for longer than I care to remember. My own children have been my first interest but with them all off to university (one after a delay to compete in London 2012) I find I have time to give and would like to help more children find success.
For myself I love to play badminton, read and I spend a lot of time walking my dogs.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught in three schools but latterly thirty years in a comprehensive in Wolverhampton. I have been a Head of Maths for more than twenty years as well as an Assistant Headteacher and Examination Secretary. Presently I teach `A` level Maths and Further Maths full-time and would be only too happy to share my results with a prospective client.
I have been involved in the writing of very successful `A` level text books.
I have marked SATs, GCSE and GCE `A` level papers.
I have tutored occasionally over many years, often for friends or family friends. All three of my children took Maths at A level and two of them Further Maths.

Tutoring Approach:

People and in particular children enjoy what they are good at; by offering them success at a carefully chosen and appropriate level I have been able to push them on to grades beyond what had been expected and to a level of confidence that will carry them forward for years after.
There cannot be many practising Maths teachers with more in classroom experience than I have, I know where pupils will go wrong, I know the reasons they don't want to work, I know the tricks that will improve their grade. I am also able to give them a genuine respect for this most useful and necessary subject.

Personal Description:
I have recently graduated with a First Class in BSc Mathematics and am currently training to be a Maths teacher, focusing on KS4 and KS5.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently training to be a Secondary Mathematics Teacher. I have experience giving KS3, KS4 and first year undergraduate Maths tuition. I have worked as a Mathematics Outreach Ambassador, working with primary and secondary school students, and running Mathematics workshops and masterclasses.
I also give instrumental and vocal tuition to students of a variety of ages and abilities. I hold an enhanced DBS (new version of enhanced CRB).

Tutoring Approach:

I am a very friendly and patient. I have a flexible approach to tutoring, adapting to suit the students way of learning and best address their weaker areas. In my first few lessons I aim to give students tasks that they can understand and complete within the lesson, building their confidence in their abilities. This lays the foundations to progress on to more difficult topics, and develop the students own ability and skills set, so they can begin to tackle new, unfamiliar areas of the topic themselves.

Personal Description:
Let me introduce myself. I'm Anna, I'm Italian, and I'm the teacher you are looking for!

I am passionate about teaching Classical Studies (Latin and Ancient Greek), as well as Italian; I have extensive teaching experience with beginning to advanced students of all ages. I hold a Bachelor and a Master's degree in Classical Studies from the University of Palermo (Italy).

Teaching Experience:

I have 8 years of experience in teaching grammar and literature (Italian, Ancient Greek and Latin), to individual students, and to small groups of students in private and public schools.

I've also worked as a City Lit Latin Tutor: teaching Latin Grammar rules, ligatures, word divisions and accents. Reading correctly any kind of Roman inscription, discerning the subject of the inscription (public, commemorative, religious, etc.). Assessment, marking, report writing and translation from Latin to English.

More specifically, I have experience in teaching students at a wide range of levels including GCSE, A-Level, and University, as well as preparing students for university entrance examinations. Furthermore, I enjoy working with children (6-13 years olds).

Tutoring Approach:

The study of the ancient world, especially the languages and cultures of Greece and Rome is a tremendous opportunity for students to expand their minds.

I'm approachable and very patient. I strive to make my lessons as enjoyable as possible and to create a comfortable atmosphere. I think that every student is unique, so I always try to find the best approach for everyone, using intuitive and yet humorous examples as much as possible.
I believe that the best way to teach is to make the subject interesting to the student and to pass on my passion.

Personal Description:
I am a QTS qualified, native-Greek speaking teacher with BA in Primary Education and MA in Drama and Theatre Education. I have strong theoretical knowledge and confidence in my practice. During my Master's studies I examined the use of drama as a pedagogic approach in language acquisition for second language learners.
I always devote time researching extensively into specialist bibliography and seek every opportunity to undertake further training in order to achieve my teaching duties. I am currently studying for a PhD in Education at the University of Nottingham.

Teaching Experience:

I have seven years teaching experience in Primary schools in Greece, in private tuitions, as well as in Primary, Secondary and Greek Community Schools in the UK. I have been teaching Greek as a Second Language and as a Foreign Language at all levels, from primary students to adult learners with various literacy backgrounds. I am confronted with the challenge to help bilingual and English speaking students build confidence in expressing themselves in Greek and motivate them to become active learners.

Tutoring Approach:

I plan my teaching taking into account special educational needs, cultural background and emotional considerations. I always implement effective intervention plans tailored to my students' individual needs. I prepare educational material and interactive exercises based on modern communicative approaches in order to develop my students' language skills.
I organise my lesson plans in creative and inspiring ways using drama as educational tool. I believe in drama as a way of learners' language acquisition, as it helps them get engaged in communication situations with cultural and social dimensions.

Personal Description:
I am a conscientious and ambitious student currently studying English Literature at Durham University. I previously achieved a place at a competitive local grammar school where I led English, Psychology, Amnesty International and Philosophy Societies, inviting speakers and giving presentations. I am a keen debater, competing in global and national competitions at prestigious Universities such as Oxford and SOAS. In my free time, I enjoy music and drama, most recently performing with Whitgift Academy for Visual and Performing Arts and singing in Beethoven's 9th Symphony at the Royal Festival Hall with the Rodolfus Choir.

Teaching Experience:

I have volunteered at schools in various capacities for the past 4 years. I began reading with Year 6 pupils at Rathfern Primary school in 2011, helping them to read and write more confidently. In 2013, I spent a year doing weekly PE sessions with disabled children at the Bridge Leisure Centre, Sydenham as part of 'Fun Fizzical', whilst continuing to read with children at Rathfern. In the last year I volunteered as a teaching assistant with Year 5 classes at Stanley Park High School, helping them with English and Maths as well as Geography projects. I have been a tutor on uktutors for over a year, primarily focusing on GCSE Maths preparation for Years 9-11.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a friendly and personable tutor, and believe that tutors should be catalysts to their students' success. I understand each student is different and requires different approaches, so I think progress should be measured individually rather than comparatively, enabling the student to confidently approach their studies independently. I think developing a relationship of trust between tutor and tutee is key for success and this is where I start when helping students to achieve their goals.

Personal Description:
I am currently offering tuition services in Mathematics at high school level - (National 4, 5, Higher and Advanced Higher).
I am born and bred in Glasgow.
I am based in Bishopbriggs, however, I am willing to travel further to other parts of Glasgow to tutor others.
I am a 24 year old Scottish individual who has a strong passion in Mathematics which led me into studying the subject at university as well as leading me into private tuition.
I am a patient and thorough tutor with over 2 years tutoring experience, eager to help students succeed in their academic careers and make the best of their experience. Studied Mathematics for 3 years at Heriot-Watt University.
I have been tutoring students for over 2 years; tutoring many students in both high school and university.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring students for over 2 years; tutoring many students in both high school and university.
The majority of my students achieved at a B or higher in their exams.
I studied Mathematics for 3 years at Heriot-Watt University, allowing me to have a diverse knowledge and skills in dealing problem solving and equations.
In the past, I have tutored students all over glasgow. In addition, I have also volunteered to help students in Strathclyde University with their resits over the summer. I volunteered to help students with standard grade mathematics in an after school tutoring facility in Lenize/ Kirkintilloch.

Tutoring Approach:

Generally, my tutoring techniques are quite structured and detailed.I ensure that whatever topic I am teaching is explained in the simplest way possible to understand.
My main goal is to identify pupils' weaknesses, focus on those areas and look and see how to improve. I also make sure my students understand the subject fully before moving. Understanding Mathematics is important to passing exams and achieving good grades and I am able to do this by providing detailed examples and solutions. I make sure to go over each topic in detail and provide examples for my students to do. Each person learns differently so I either give them notes I have written beforehand or I let them write up notes in bullets points and formulas which can be good for muscle memory. My main focus is past paper revision. As I believe if you can complete the past papers easily, you can past the exam easily.

Personal Description:
Hi, I'm Faiz! I am an ex Medical Student, based in Coventry, having previously studied at the University of Leicester. I recently gained admission to Oxford University to read Computer Science, demonstrating mathematical prowess and, more importantly, a clarity of thought that greatly lends itself to the teaching of maths and sciences.

I can also help with interview skills, particularly for those applying to Medicine or Oxbridge.

Alongside my extensive tutoring experience, I also have recent experience of GCSEs and A-Levels, and can therefore relate to pupils and teach at an appropriate level using methods that are easy to understand.

I have a record of academic excellence, including 9 A*s & 1 A at GCSE, and A*A*A*A* at A-Level. I have also achieved an A at AS Computing and AS Further Maths, but AS's can't be displayed on this site.

***I can deliver tuition in your home for an additional fee of up to £7.50 (regardless of number of hours)***

Teaching Experience:

Currently, I tutor groups of students in A Level Maths and GCSE Maths & Sciences.

I am also experienced in delivering one to one tuition, and currently have pupils that I am tutoring on a one to one basis.

Tutoring Approach:

Working with the student, I can help to overcome any obstacles they may encounter within their curriculum, and allow them to reach their potential.

In particular, I can break down difficult concepts to make them easy to understand for the student.

I can also help the student with developing excellent study skills, which will greatly benefit them far beyond their school years.

Personal Description:
- I have successfully completed two years of a BSc Biomedical science degree at King's college London and have a love of biology and wider science I would love to share with younger generations.
- I am currently taking a year out to help care for my terminally ill father.
- Prior to this, I attended Hampton school from which I graduated with the A-levels maths, chemistry and biology (AAA) and the AS levels physics, geography and computing (AAA).
- Outside of education, I am a 21 year old with keen interests in fitness/nutrition, travelling and extensive reading.
- My primary academic interest lies within the realms of biology but my university degree has left me well versed in chemistry, biochemistry and maths as well.

While I do have my own car and am able to travel as necessary I also have a spacious, 2 desk home office that is an excellent learning environment.

Teaching Experience:

- Throughout my time at school and university I have always enjoyed mentoring, supporting and teaching both those in younger years and my peers who are struggling to grasp a concept.
- I also provided my sister with support in sciences and maths throughout her studies as she was more artistically minded and focused.
- I also spent 6 months volunteering with children who had severe downs syndrome aimed at engaging them in activities to develop their social, cognitive and verbal skills. This was an invaluable experience that saw my patience and empathy grow immeasurably.

Tutoring Approach:

1 - Flexible: Not everyone has the same ability, needs or approach to learning and so I feel it is imperative that tutoring is tailored specifically to what each child wants and needs.
2 - Thorough: I feel that often problems within subjects can run deep to the fundamentals principals on which it is based. It is important that each child has a good understanding of these as they provide them with the ability to apply them and learn independently.
3 - Patient: Feeling like you are struggling and not doing as well as you might want is an extremely demoralizing and difficult thing for a child to cope with. As someone who has experienced it myself I feel I am able to help guide them back on track through my ability to empathize, develop a relationship and slowly help rebuild confidence and motivation.
