Please note I don't teach Computer Studies or Programming Languages. I specialise in Microsoft Office with some general knowledge on building/setting up home PC's and networks.

An ICT teacher with 15 years experience in an FE college specialising in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) Internet Explorer and Windows, delivering primarily to adults but all ages welcome.

I delivered ECDL, DiDA and many other courses/units over the years and always to a high standard. Students have included the unemployed, corporate clients, mums returning to the workplace, 16-18s and all manner of the employed.

Personal Description:
I am a graduate student (Phd in Control and Systems Engineering) at The University of Sheffield. I obtained my undergraduate degree in electrical and electronic engineering.

Teaching Experience:

I have handled quite a few laboratory demonstrations and tutorial classes
for Masters and undergraduate students. I have also participated in various teaching skills seminars with the aim of improving my approach to tutoring and my delivery style.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring approach is based on the premise that there are no stupid questions. I believe that students show marked improvement when provided the right guidance in the subject areas they have difficulty with. Using real world examples as often as possible, I aim to provide my students access to the fundamental principles of a given subject.

Furthermore, I teach them how this knowledge can be applied in tackling exam-style questions and also to retain what they have learned for a long time.

Personal Description:
I would describe myself as a very determined and highly motivated person. I do take my job seriously but I'm able to see things in perspective and believe I'm quite easy-going to work with. I'm an optimist rather than a pessimist - but I'm also a realist and I cope well when the going gets tough; I'm very good at finding solutions to problems. Above all, I would say I'm a positive and enthusiastic person - and I relish a challenge.
Careful planning is critical to my ability to get things done: planning, organisation and action. I rely heavily on 'To Do' lists. These enable me to capture and record everything which I need to action. I maintain a master To Do list but also have separate To Do lists for each particular project I'm handling. I review these at least once a day so as to identify my priorities. I always aim to focus on tasks which have deadlines attached to them and also tasks which will achieve the most in the shortest space of time. Less important items I will either postpone, delegate or, if I am unable to clearly identify the benefits, remove from the list completely. While I have a very heavy workload to juggle I find that these systems enable me to always keep one step ahead and to ensure that nothing slips through the net.

Teaching Experience:

Sep 2008 - May 2015,Private Lesson Tutor in Sciences (Mathematics-Chemistry-Physics-Biology)
Private Lesson Tutor in Greek and English
Worked with students in small groups of 3 - 4 to help develop their basic knowledge and understanding of Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology
Conducted face to face and Skype lessons
Produced bespoke lesson plan based on the child's needs
Helped with completion of courseworks and assignments
Provided support for exams and test preparation
Provided regular feedback to parents and informed them about their child's progress
Worked with kids and adults of various ages

Tutoring Approach:

I aim to make children feel quickly at ease with my warm, 'can-do' approach, and boost their self-esteem with lots of praise. I focus the lessons on whatever the child most needs to learn and where possible like to link in with what the child is currently learning at school. Using this approach, the child gains confidence through learning, and away from a packed classroom is able to discuss areas they feel they need to improve in an open and honest way.

I have lived in Peterhead my whole life, attending both Clerkhill Primary School and Peterhead Academy. I have then spent the following 5 years at the University of Aberdeen Studying a range of biology and chemistry courses. I also have a current PVG disclosure Scotland certificate available upon request.

Teaching Experience:

During the final year of my undergraduate degree (2013-2014) I enrolled on the BP tutoring scheme which firstly entailed a short teacher training course before I was assigned a placement at Turriff Academy, Aberdeenshire. With the support of the classroom teacher, I was involved in the designing, delivery and evaluation of teaching materials for classes ranging from S1 to S6 in subjects such as general science, biology and chemistry. This experience greatly improved my communication skills as well as enhanced my ability to think on my feet as many of the classes I instructed were allocated to me at short notice with little time to prepare.

Personal Description:
Hello to everyone,
I'm a 26 years old Hungarian saxophone player recently moved to London, and looking forward to teach music.

After successfully completing my bachelor in Jazz Saxophone at the Conservatoire of Trento (Italy), I moved to Milan where I have balanced studies and work for almost 2 years. Although I specialise in saxophone and jazz, I am able to teach the recorder, flute, and (classical) music theory.

I started learning music with the Kodaly method at the age of 5 and have been studying, playing and teaching music ever since. As a freelance and private saxophone and flute teacher, I always try to apply that same method when teaching my students.

I have a great experience of performing with various big bands and smaller groups, such as quartet and trio formation in Hungary and Italy as well.

Teaching Experience:

I was teaching in the past three years in Italy, private students and in a music school as well. Most of my students were complete beginners when we met, so I have experience of teaching the basics of music and make the students like what they do.

Tutoring Approach:

My lessons cover topics like: tone production, breathing, articulation, music reading, improvisation, music theory (classical and jazz), ear training, repertoir.
I'm teaching saxophone, flute and recorder in a personalized way. I teach what the students are interested in.
In my lessons I use american books such as Jim Grantham JazzMaster Cookbook, Joe Viola books, Jerry Bergonzi, Bob Mintzer and Jim Snidero methods.

Personal Description:
I am passionate about teaching English and love helping those who struggle just as much as stretching those who find it easier. I have 17 year teaching experience and in that time, have taught children up to the age of 13; helping older children prepare for 13+ Public School Entrance exams as well as teaching younger children to master phonics, basic reading skills and spelling. I am an experienced SATs marker enabling me to help children to prepare for these exams. I have worked closely with learning support departments in order to support and extend those children with difficulties such as dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyspraxia. I have achieved part one of a Diploma in Teaching Children with Specific Learning Difficulties. I also have a Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language which means I have an in depth knowledge of English grammar as well as an understanding of how teenagers and adults learn.

I am an avid reader and writer but a mum to a reluctant reader so I understand how difficult it can be to get children to read. I do, however, believe that there is something for everyone.

Additionally, I can teach French and German. I have taught them both to GCSE level and studied both languages to degree level.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching for 17 years and was most recently a teacher of years 5 to 8 English and French at a well-respected private school for children aged 5 - 18. Prior to that I taught at an independent prep school where I was a class teacher as well as a member of the Senior Management Team and Head of Girls' Games. I have an excellent understanding of all aspects of child development and the need to make learning meaningful and fun. I am passionate about reading as well as all types of writing and am a member of the National Handwriting Association. I am also able to include IT in the classroom when necessary.

Tutoring Approach:

This depends entirely on the needs of the child. After an initial consultation, I would be able to offer support with reading and comprehension and/or writing (whether it be handwriting or speed of writing - or both). It might be a case of helping your child to understand English grammar as well as teaching them techniques to enable them to include it effectively in their own writing. If it is a case of preparing for forthcoming exams, then this can be done by using past papers as well as my own materials devised after extensive experience of helping children prepare for all types of exams. You may just want some extra support for your child over the summer and prior to the start of a busy new term. Whatever it is, it will be done with empathy and enthusiasm.

Personal Description:
I am a first year medical student at Glasgow university with experience in tutoring children and young adults. Due to the fact I have just finished my high school exams, achieving very good grades, the course content and exam structures are still fresh in my mind which is what makes me a good choice of tutor for anyone studying the new Curriculum for Excellence Scottish courses. I am a very friendly and approachable person and genuinely enjoy tutoring.

Teaching Experience:

I have au paired for the last two summers in Spain, giving daily language, maths and science tutoring lessons to children from the ages of four to sixteen. In addition to this last year I self taught my self two SQA advanced highers - Spanish and chemistry - and achieved the necessary grades to study medicine.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is the same method I use everyday when studying for my degree. I find that fully grasping concepts and ideas by discussing them and looking at relevant examples, instead of just monotonously writing down notes is the most successful way to learn which also prepares you well for exams and sets you up nicely for a higher level of study in the future. This is followed up by then applying this knowledge by practicing exam questions which helps build confidence in one's ability.
