Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching drama students from the of age 6 - 60 since 1999. With some of them moving on to be successful actors themselves. However, I do understand that not all students want to be actors and approach each individuals needs accordingly.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that drama isn't just about 'acting' but also provides an outlet for self expression, it develops imagination and artistic awareness; it increases social and mental freedom, fluency of speech, self respect, self confidence and above all... it's FUN!

Drama gives students the opportunity to learn how to co-operate with others, aids orderly thinking and the ability to organise. The benefits do not only accrue through students participating actively in dramatic activity, they also learn through observing others.

I will provide what we hope you will see as the perfect balance of education, play, and stimulation. I run to a carefully planned curriculum paying equal attention to ALL my student's needs in our group sessions. I am also committed to a two way communication process with parents to ensure that we have total understanding and support.

I use practical explorations on how to make, perform and respond to drama. Our workshops encourage students with:

Confidence
Self Expression
Team Working Skills
Speaking and Listening
Emotional Intelligence
Community Involvement
Development of Practical, Creative and Intellectual Skills
Use The Student's Own Work As A Stimulus
Understand The Importance Of The Process
Cross Curricular Links With Literacy

Personal Description:
I am a friendly and approachable tutor with a huge amount of enthusiasm in the subjects I teach. I was awarded a Scholarship to a competitive independent before working towards a Masters in Biochemistry at Oxford University.

I have since worked as a Pharmaceuticals Business Analyst, as a High Yield Chemicals Industry Analyst in Investment Banking and as an Air Traffic Controller. In each case the knowledge and skills from my education have been critical. I would now like to gain the satisfaction of helping others do well in these subjects and attain their potential.

Teaching Experience:

In my industries it is critical to continue learning and passing exams, and in every role, I have always had to pass on my knowledge and understanding to others, which has been incredibly gratifying. More recently, I have enjoyed tutoring maths and other subjects to pupils locally, often to help them gain entrance to competitive schools. I also enjoy spending time teaching my son and my nieces.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that learning should always be interesting to the pupil - inspirational even - and that the onus is on the teacher to make this the case. Learning is about being curious and asking questions; in fact I believe pupils should not be scared to ask any question, which means that learning should feel relaxed rather than formal.

Subjects should not be seen as complex but rather layers of straight forward principals that build on what the pupil already knows in an intuitive fashion. In this way, a good teacher allows understanding to grow naturally and not feel like a challenge.

Personal Description:
I have been a teacher all my professional life, although for ten years I worked in the theatre as an actor, fight director and singer. I love teaching and I love music. Most importantly, perhaps, I have never stopped learning!

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching English, French and German for 25 years. I studied English at Oxford; worked in Germany, studied in Spain and have my main home in France. I recently trained in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, so I feel up to date with current teaching methodology. Nevertheless, I adapt my teaching style and methods to benefit my tutees. I teach adult evening classes and give private tuition in French, German and English Literacy.

Tutoring Approach:

I will come to your home and talk to you about what your learning requirements are and will tutor in order for you to maximise your potential in line with your requirements. All tutees have different learning styles and preferences, too, so I will pick up on yours and shape our lessons accordingly. We will work proactively, and there will be specific goals and targets for each lesson so that you will be able to chart your progress. My colleagues think I have a great sense of humour, and I have sometimes found it to be helpful in a teaching situation. I am, however, totally professional in the conduct of my lessons and tutorials.

Personal Description:
I am a Graduate in Engineering with excellent academic background. Recently I have completed masters in Structural Engineering with distinction. I have sound communication skills and have ability to deliver my concepts at any level.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Rate analysis and Structural Engineering to B-tech students. Currently I am teaching Maths, Physics and Chemistry to the G.C.S.E Students.

Tutoring Approach:

Teaching is the mother of all professions and it is one of the most respectable profession. To have a complete conceptual knowledge about something and to have an ability to deliver that knowledge both are totally different things. Most people have outstanding knowledge but they are unable to deliver that knowledge effectively. So my approach to tutoring is to deliver my concepts effectively and to teach at all levels.

Personal Description:
My name is Karina, and I am a qualified teacher having completed the graduate scheme Teach First, and passed with Outstanding. My experience within the classroom has helped me adapt my teaching style to each individual. I understand that each student has their own needs and struggles, and may benefit especially from private one-to-one tutoring.

I now work in management consultancy specialising in Education and Health & Public Service. Even though I no longer work in the classroom, I am keen to continue to support students in their studies for their GCSEs and A Levels.

My own education has shown me excellent tutoring and teaching methods, and has compelled me to provide a similar, excellent tutoring experience. I was first educated at The Lady Eleanor Holles School in Hampton (a top 10 Independent School), which allowed me to experience a variety of different teaching methods from all disciplines. From this, I have been able to study at a top 10 university, specialising in the subject that most appealed to me at school.

Academic Qualifications:
Teach First PGCE with Distinction (Outstanding level)
BA (Hons) Economics and Business with East European Studies (Upper Second) from University College London
4 A Levels: Economics (A), Geography (A), Mathematics (A), Russian (A)
11 GCSEs: 5A*s, 3As, 3Bs

Teaching Experience:

Qualified Teacher with Teach First for two full academic years
-- Taught Mathematics to Key Stage 3 and 4
-- Taught over 200 pupils from Year 7 to Year 11, successfully increasing grades by as much as three GCSE Grades.
-- Implemented and managed the Year 7 numeracy programme (Times Tables Rock Stars), trained the maths department in using the online and written versions, and analysed the resulting data in Excel. Introduced the programme to neighbouring primary schools.
-- Developed a new Scheme of Work, using an innovative 'Mastery' curriculum for Year Eight Maths.

GCSE tutor at an Inner London school.
-- Specialised mainly in Mathematics.

Chess tutor at national chess tournaments
-- Having trained with International master

Tutoring Approach:

Before the first session, I will attempt to understand the certain topics the student requires help with, and prepare materials ready for this session. For every session, I will bring along materials, past papers, exam questions, presentations and videos to go through with the student. Where relevant, I would like the student to complete a full exam paper where I can understand the topics that the student is struggling with. Feedback on these exam questions is essential, and I will work to understand why the student is struggling with the problems, and build on the methods they are already using to answer the problems.

Personal Description:
I have a PhD in Chemistry and have a passion for both chemistry (all sciences) and maths. I am a very understanding, empathetic person who can relate easily to the problems that some pupils have with these subjects.

I am married with three teenage children.

Teaching Experience:

I am a professional tutor (over 20 years experience) of Maths and Chemistry/ Science from Primary School(Key Stages 1 and 2) to Secondary School (Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level) and also the Eleven Plus examinations, offering a personal and focused approach to helping pupils achieve their exam potential.

I have consistently improved pupils' grades and have improved pupil's grades up to 2 levels (and in an exceptional case 3 levels).

I have also obtained good grades for students who were considering dropping a subject, or indeed were advised by their teachers to drop a subject.

I have worked with a wide variety and culture of students, helping them to develop excellent revision skills. As mentioned above, I have taught all age groups with varying skill levels.

My aim is to make pupils more enthusiastic about their subjects and use real life examples, so they can understand why they study certain topics.

Hard work together with fun gets the best out of pupils and I tailor the work to an individual. I have worked extensively with all syllabuses including AQA, OCR and Edexcel (GCSE and iGCSE)

Tutoring Approach:

As mentioned earlier I am very enthusiastic and passionate, and get a real buzz from pupils excelling in their education. I hope to get pupils enthused likewise, and encourage hard work with fun.

Every pupil is different and I am very adaptable, and very able to use different methods to get the message across to the individual.

Homework is strongly encouraged !!

I can also provide assistance with research methods, SPSS, or any other research related activities such as dissertations.

My main skill is my ability to communicate complex phenomenon in easy to understand ways. This has enabled me to receive high levels of student satisfaction in the courses I teach, and also nominations for university awards such as 'Inspiring and Engaging Teacher of the Year Award 2017'.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching undergraduate psychology for a total of 5 years. This includes a wide range of subjects, including the core British Psychological Society (BPS) areas. Personal Description:
I received a First Class Honours B. Sc. degree in computer science from Cardiff University, UK, in 2016 and I am currently working towards the Ph.D. degree in the field of Cyber Security at the same University. My research revolves around the security and privacy of Internet of Things devices (IoT). I have experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, and Matlab, as well as with a variety of other technologies. As a current PhD student I also have experience in various research and study methodologies. Finally I am fluent in Greek, English, and Italian.

Teaching Experience:

For the past year, apart from being a private tutor teaching mainly GCSE Computing/ICT and Greek Language, I have also been a Teaching Assistant at Cardiff University. There I have been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students programming; Python and Java as well as Web Applications Technologies. Additionally, I have been supervising group projects for year 2.

Tutoring Approach:

I aim to provide a solid grounding in the subject while paying close attention to the needs of the individual. Therefore, I will vary my tutoring style depending on the ability and needs of the student. I aim to run my tuition in support of the progression of my students through their subject syllabus, but I am also willing to progress more slowly and focus on particularly weak areas if the student so desires. I will also offer pre-exam revision sessions for all exams including modular resits and conduct end of topic tests and mock exams should the student desire.

As I aim to tailor my tuition to the individual I expect students to maintain regular contact in regards to their subject progressions and their individual needs.
