Personal Description:
I am a computer science graduate and have over 10 experience working within the IT sector as a programmer, Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, Database Developer and then as an IT consultant. Having worked in at least 6 different companies including the NHS, I currently work with a major Bank as a Business/Systems Analyst and Data Architect. As an Analyst and Architect, I am very methodical and logical in my thinking, which always helps when breaking down a problem to people (students) new to the concept.

I'm a very friendly and caring person and have lots of experience of working and interacting with young people in an educational context. I am forward thinking and very creative in finding better ways to explain new concepts to students.

I have experience of working with 1st year to MSc IT students. This usually involves tutoring around concepts not well understood, tutoring to help you start/progress/complete complex assignment and dissertation/thesis.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience teaching in an educational establishment abroad where I tutored in a Secondary school. Subjects included Science(chemistry, Physics, Biology), Maths and IT. This experience gave me good sets of teaching and studying skills that will help the student increase their knowledge and pass the exams with very good grades. My focus at the moment is computer science and you will see from my reviews that I have tutored students with very good outcomes.

Tutoring Approach:

I am very flexible and ready to adapt to make sure that each student gets the most of any teaching session. I understand the fact that each student is different with different pace of learning and understanding. It is with this that I take my time to understand the student in order to optimize the learning experience. I do encourage feedback from my students to make sure that they are happy with the learning.
I am flexible with the teaching session location and I do own my own transport. Also I am flexible as I can do online teaching. Using school text books or lecture notes/slides is my preferred approach as this does not conflict with anything that has already been taught to the student in school or university.

Personal Description:
I have a first-class honours degree in History and a master's degree in American Studies (History). During my master's, I specialised in vernacular history, particularly the social, ideological and political significance of post-9/11 Islamic hip-hop.

I am a freelance marketing consultant, with a focus on content and copywriting, working in the tech, property, psychological wellbeing, HR and social development sectors. I am currently away travelling so I can only provide online tuition. I love to read, write, paint and travel.

Teaching Experience:

I have over 8 years' tuition experience, having initially worked as a peer History tutor at Bridgewater State University (USA) in 2008 followed by working as a GCSE English tutor for the Tutor Trust in 2011-12. I have been tutoring privately since 2009.

At the Tutor Trust I delivered small group tuition sessions and taught large group revision classes in Manchester's disadvantaged schools and colleges.

Tutoring Approach:

TUITION
I take a structured approach to tutoring and develop a clear plan with objectives for the student and I to reach together. I work at the student's own pace and provide bespoke tuition which is tailored to the student's needs and learning style. My sessions are clear, engaging and stimulating.

My tutoring style is to facilitate rather than teach. I guide the student in the right direction and provide additional support to help with study skills, time management and organisation skills. Ultimately, I encourage the student to build more confidence in his/her own ability.

PROOFREADING & THESIS SUPPORT
I provide proofreading services for undergraduate and postgraduate coursework. I check grammar and spelling to an excellent standard and offer in-depth feedback on analysis/argument, structure, knowledge/understanding, sources and referencing, and style and presentation to help students to achieve the grade they are aiming for.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified secondary school teacher and mother of 4 children living in Caldicot. I am able to teach both Physics and Mathematics up to GCSE and A Level Physics.

Teaching Experience:

I began teaching in 2001, qualified as a Science teacher who specialises in Physics. I have been successful in raising standards of attainment in both the key stage 3 and GCSE classes I have taught. As a tutor, I have successfully supported many pupils, with all previous tutees having achieved their expected grade or better, for both Science and Mathematics disciplines. I have also tutored primary school pupils and an adult returning to GCSE studies.
I have experience of teaching most specifications including AQA, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC Maths and Science.

I have several years experience being contracted to mark exam papers for a major examination board and was later promoted to team leader, overseeing the exam marking for a number of examiners. This has provided me with a high level of expertise of the examination system and the demands of candidates, something that I am able to use effectively as a tutor. I have gained a great deal of experience of teaching pupils with SEN.

Tutoring Approach:

I set realistic targets for the students I tutor and am wholly committed to their success. I provide all resources including worksheets, text books, exercise books. I have an excellent relationship with students and have been asked to continue tutoring on to A Level for some students. I look to identify students weaknesses and focus on developing those areas, along with coaching on how to perform well in examinations.

Lessons can take place at my home Monday to Friday from 5:30pm. Weekend lessons available (please contact for availability and prices).
I am able to travel to the students home (Caldicot and surrounding areas). Additional charges may apply for travel expenses depending on distance.

Being 18 year old and just finished my A level, I want to pass on the passion as well as the tricks to ace calculating (which you will definitely find useful, having to use your thumb to press the calculator thus slowing down with things will not really help you after all)

Teaching Experience:

I have only taught 3~9 graders, but I think I may as well try approaching GCSE and A level students as well, as a teacher as well as a friend :'>

Definition and Problem are two factors that cover a lot of what we will be doing. However, I will tear the proposed problems down and we can have a deeper look into what those two were (unexpectedly) obscuring.

I'm Patrick. I am currently doing an apprenticeship in electrical and electronic engineering through South West Trains. I have A levels in Maths, Physics and English language. I also have a BTEC in engineering, a higher national certificate in electrical and electronic engineering and am a qualified IOSH manager.

Teaching Experience:

I have 3 years experience teaching drums to children aged 10-16. Although I have never tutored maths and physics before I feel that I'll be more familiar with current syllabi and therefore more able to understand the tutee's needs.

Tutoring Approach:

I always found that I learnt more when the subject was made fun so a lot of my tutoring plans are based on using interesting activities to explain complicated theories better. I'm pretty relaxed and will always allow a student to learn at their own pace without rushing them, leaving them to figure out as much as they can on their own.

Personal Description:
I was born in Regensburg, Germany and grew up in Penang, Malaysia. After completing high school (IGCSEs) and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, I worked at North London Collegiate School Jeju, South Korea for six months as a teaching assistant. After this I attended the University of Melbourne in Australia for my three year undergraduate degree in Environments, majoring in Environmental Geographies, Politics and Cultures. During this time period, I also completed an intensive Mandarin language summer programme at the University of Hong Kong and taught English in rural Thailand during university holidays. I am bilingual, speaking English and German fluently and also speak a bit of Malay, French and Mandarin. I enjoy exploring new places and cultures and am fascinated by languages. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring and teach with a passion.

Teaching Experience:

- A2 and AS Geography (AQA, Edexcel, WJEC)
- GCSE Geography (AQA, Edexcel, OCR)
- University level Geography
- German - all levels including complete beginners and adult learners.

I am currently working (part time) as a Geography teacher in two private sixth form colleges in Ealing, London and St Albans. I teach both A-levels and GCSEs. I have experience of teaching the following exam boards: AQA, Edexcel, WJEC and OCR. Importantly, I am familiar with both the old and new specifications.

I tutored AS and A2 Geography (WJEC Board) at Uxbridge High School in preparation for their exams in June 2016.

I have been working as a private tutor for five years now, alongside my degree in Australia, as well as after, both in Australia and now London. I have had a very large and diverse range of clients. I have tutored university students in Geography and have guided them through essay submissions and exams.

I have also taught on an international level at North London Collegiate School, Jeju, South Korea (as a teaching assistant) and in rural Thailand (as part of a university project).

Tutoring Approach:

Building a strong working relationship and trust between the tutor and student is very important, and being easily approachable is a vital characteristic a tutor should have. Some students may have just lost their inspiration to learn and so it is the tutor`s job to motivate and inspire them. It is important the student is guided on an individual-based level and encouraged to actively engage and think, making links with information explained to them, and not spoon fed. I believe i can bring international experience and diversity to the students i tutor. Especially applicable to Geography, my lessons have a strong focus on exam technique and effective exam preparation.

Personal Description:
I am a friendly and patient mathematician looking to help students achieve their potential. I enjoy helping people to understand a difficult concept with which they have been struggling, and also, as appropriate, taking them a little outside the syllabus to show them what their subject can do.

I recently graduated with a master's degree from Oxford (I was placed top of my year for my fourth year). Currently, I am taking a year out of formal education before going on to study for a PhD next year.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently working part-time as a teaching assistant for the Mathematics Department at the University of Oxford for a fourth year course.

While studying for my A Levels I collected my notes and built a website for them, so that others could benefit from what I'd written. This website has become quite popular, and now receives almost a million unique visitors per year.

Tutoring Approach:

One-on-one tutoring is an excellent complement to traditional schooling, because it allows the tutor to respond directly to the student's needs and to their learning style. Everyone learns in a different way, and I strive to discover the teaching method which works best for my students.

My tutorials are structured around the needs and aims of the student. We will decide on short-term and long-term goals, and work together to achieve them.
