Personal Description:
I am a returning ex-pat having lived and worked in Spain for 13 years. I learned Spanish naturally and have a similar approach to teaching. I use the similarities between the languages to lower barriers and make learning fun and easy. I teach natural Spanish not endless grammar or lists of nouns or verbs. I have been in a face to face environment all my working life and put people at their ease quickly. I have used the language in both a casual and business environment.

Teaching Experience:

As a private tutor I have been helping students for over 3 years now. I have developed a method of making the language accessible and easy to speak. There are no verb lists. Here's the challenge: I can teach present tense verb endings in 10 minutes, past tense in 5 minutes and future in one minute. How long have you been trying? Make learning fun!

Tutoring Approach:

I learned Spanish naturally and have a similar approach to teaching. I use the similarities between the languages to lower barriers and make learning fun and easy. I teach natural Spanish not endless grammar or lists of nouns or verbs. Students find my methods fun and relevant. I can offer support to academic learning within a curriculum or help people to get by on holiday. If required I can take a student through to fluency in a manner more suited to everyday use.

Personal Description:
I have recently semi-retired back to Oxford after two careers: the first in journalism and the second as a teacher and minor academic, having spent the past four years lecturing in English literature at university level. I am, however, a traditionally trained teacher, having qualified at the University of Oxford 20 years ago with the full secondary PGCE in English, with history as my second subject. I can teach all aspects of English and all periods of literature from GCSE level upwards, but undergraduate students may want to know that my academic specialism is in 19th century literature, and my doctoral research was on Dickens. Alongside my tutoring work, I continue to do examining, coursework moderation and consultancy work for the leading exam board in the subject.

Teaching Experience:

I have 20 years' experience, mainly teaching all three varieties of A level English to the specifications of three different awarding bodies, at various colleges of further education. I also have considerable experience of GCSE English (mainly post-16 retakes, also in the FE context) and have taught within a local authority adult education service, as well as at university. I also have several years' prior experience of seeing one-to-one students privately. I have been an examiner for A level English literature since 2000, a coursework moderator for the same since 2009, and am currently a senior examiner for A level English language and literature.

Tutoring Approach:

As a tutor I think I am friendly and approachable, adopting an informal style of session, though I do insist on academic rigour where it is called for, and I have the expertise to back it up. I believe in a collaborative approach, with the full and ongoing involvement of parents, particularly of younger students, and would also expect to liaise by e-mail with the student's English teacher at school. I see the tutor's role as supporting mainstream education, not as something separate from it. I am aways well prepared, and wil go the extra mile by researching material which students have to cover, as well as reading and where appropriate marking students' work, in my own time.

Personal Description:
My name is Umayr. I teach Chemistry, Biology and Maths up to A-Level standard. I also teach GCSE Physics and English Language. In addition to this, I can also teach both numeracy and literacy at primary school level. I am married and I am possibly looking to do PGCE to go into teaching in a school/college later on. I have moved recently to Bradford from London and am new to the area. I have my own transport to travel to any potential tutees.

Teaching Experience:

I have around 10 months of self-employed tutoring experience. I did tutor a fellow class student in A-level maths for a short period of time to improve his understanding of maths, especially pure maths. I also taught chemistry to university students in a university in Poland and was able to help about 70% to 80% of the whole year of first year medical students pass this subject. I provided them out of hours classes to help with certain difficult provided and even provided my own version of written revision notes to help prepare for the exam.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to help the student understand the topic by giving examples and showing solutions with in-depth explanations in simple terms so that the student can understand. I even give the student example questions to try out to make sure they understand the methods or factual knowledge. I believe that a student can only be fully prepared for an exam by attempting past exam papers.

Personal Description:
I obtained my degree in physics and doctorate in theoretical physics from the University of Nottingham. I then spent ten years working as a physicist in various universities in Italy, New Zealand and the UK. My specialty was low temperature physics. I am fascinated by science and try to pass on my enthusiasm.

In my spare time I enjoy white-water kayaking.

Teaching Experience:

One of my responsibilities as a postdoctoral researcher was to mentor physics students. I am used to explaining difficult concepts and techniques in a clear, simple and concise way. I have been working as a maths and physics tutor since January 2016. I currently teach students from 13 to adult, up to advanced higher.

I have recently become involved in school outreach, doing talks on the Big bang.

Tutoring Approach:

I encourage the student to think for himself/herself rather than spoon-feeding the material. I ensure that the student understands the fundamental concepts behind each topic, and does not simple regurgitate methods by rote. I aim to instill a fundamental understanding of the subject, but as exams approach I go through past papers and hone exam technique.
