Personal Description:
I am a friendly and approachable musician, songwriter and singer. I have been involved in music for many years in solo, group and large ensemble capacties. Among many music courses I have attended, my training includes a Diploma in Popular Music Performance at the highly commended Tech Music School in London, and a Fist Class Honours degree in Music Technology with Popular Music Performance.
I have been fully CRB checked to work with children.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching since 2001, mainly primary and secondary aged students. This was primarily performance based tutoring at weekend classes including some one to one sessions. I have done this in both Norfolk and London. I have also taught many one to one singing lessons with all ages between 6 and 65.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to tailor my tutoring to each individual students needs rather than using set lesson plans. My teaching style is based around enjoying the learning experience. I like to engage with my students on a personal level to the extent where the learning is a bi-product of the session without it feeling like hard work. I have found this to be a very popular technique that keeps students interested in the subject and looking forward to the next class.

Personal Description:
I am Yifen. I have gained excellent teaching experience in Chinese at all levels and in Maths(From KS1 upto GCSE). I received positive feedback from my previous students and gained credits to my patience, explicit express and responsibility. I have got a degree of PhD at the School of Education in the University of Manchester. I have been appointed as a governor in a primary school in York.
Regarding my personality, I am a very easygoing person, kindly and also with a high sense of responsibility. I have been living in UK more than six years. I have stayed in places covered students of all creeds and ethnic backgrounds, and I am being socialised with course mates, tutors and other friends, so I gained significant experience of working in the international culture and quite appreciate living in a place with multi-culture background people and have been benefited from such diversities.

I like travelling and experiencing different things, and have visited a few places, such as European countries(England, Scotland, Welsh, Netherlands, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain), Africa(Cameroon), South Korea, Honking and Marcao. I love sports, especially, swimming, yoga, horse riding, cycling and hiking.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught Mandarin to non-native English speakers (aged from 9-60 year-old) at different levels both in China and in the UK for about 10 years. This deeply developed my valuable knowledge of teaching students by meeting their individual needs. I gained valuable teaching experience from helping in the primary school including the Nursery in York. I have been supporting the adult with a learning difficulty (e.g. dyslexia) in York Learning since January 2015.

I am a free lance mandarin teacher and have been working with some language organisations, ie., Cactus Language Training since 2012.

Achievement:
e.g.I have been currently helping one of my students with her preparation of GCSE Mandarin since October , 2014 and she achieve GCSE Mandarin A* in summer 2015! I am currently helping her with Chinese Mandarin AS level.

My students and me myself have enjoyed the lessons.

Tutoring Approach:

I take all efforts to prepare lessons to meet students' needs.I endeavor to create a free conversation, which I think a good atmosphere is very important to learn a language and to encourage learners' speaking. Lessons will be prepared. There will be some prepared funny stories or other material to make fun. So you can learn mandarin and have fun here!
My understanding is a good teacher is to be responsible for the students and to meet students' needs. My working experiences and my academic study have ascertained my belief that it is essential to teach the students in front of you rather than the test.
So I endeavor to be a best listener and observer to identify problems occurring during the lessons and to work out the solution and to develop your potential at maximum.

If you feel a bit struggling with or tired of learning Mandarin on your own, I would encourage you to come to me and work together to achieve your goal more efficiently.

There are some textbooks I have been using for the learners, such as:
Confidence Chinese Vol. Getting Started
Confidence Chinese Vol2. Living in China
Chinese Made Easy Book1, and Book2
Standard Course HSK and
Chinese Made Easy for Kids 1.

Personal Description:
Bonjour! My name is Samantha and I am from Bordeaux, a region famous for its wine. I am a qualified and experienced teacher. I have been living in the UK for many years and, after working in different roles in the educational system, I decided to undertake a French teaching qualification. The course was really stimulating and learning about pedagogy was particularly interesting. I have enjoyed teaching ever since.

Teaching Experience:

I have a wide experience of teaching on a one to one basis as well as small group from the very young to adults. I am familiar with the curriculum for French GCSE and A Level.
I also teach University students, supporting them with grammar and conversation.
I have experience teaching French to adults from basic knowledge for holidays up to advanced level.

Tutoring Approach:

I tailor lessons to what the student requires. I respect each student`s pace of work and way of learning and try to help them to fulfill their potential.
I make lessons interesting, stimulating and adapted to my clients' needs.
I am aware that tutees have different learning style and therefore I offer a variety of exercises.
I use different materials such as videos, images, magazines, music and the latest Course books from L'alliance Française as well as my own creation.
I empathize with my students because I had to learn English myself. Therefore, I know it can be difficult to learn a foreign language and even frustrating at times but also very rewarding. That is why, I make students aware of their progress on a regular basis.
I love teaching and I have had some very good feedback from my students. I am a friendly, patient and approachable person.

Personal Description:
I am a multilingual qualified teacher of Modern Greek language. I earned my Undergraduate degree from the Department of Greek at the University of Thrace with a specialization in Byzantine and Modern Greek Philology. My native languages are Greek and Russian and I speak English fluently. Feeling the need to take the next step in my life, I decided to continue my studies at the University of Glasgow so now I tutor on a part-time basis. Regarding my attributes, I would consider myself as a responsible, patient and driven person. I strongly believe that it is important to give your best and pay attention to detail. This is the reason why, I think, I have developed such a respectful relationship with my previous students - the deep and sincere commitment to my duties.

Teaching Experience:

For the past nine years, I have been tutoring students in their preparation for high school and entrance exams in modern and ancient Greek, Latin, writing and composition skills, literature and history. This experience has been extremely rewarding to me. I particularly enjoy the process of gradually building knowledge and skills in the mind of my students, but most of all the interaction and emotional contact with them. The most interesting and challenging experience I have had professionally was teaching Greek as a foreign language to Russian immigrants, course I taught in Russian. In this way, not only was I working as a teacher but also as a ''translator'' trying to convey all the meanings, the grammatical system and the syntactic structure from Russian to Greek, which was our ''target language''.

Tutoring Approach:

In order to go further with my tutoring approach, I successfully attended the Annual Training Program on Psychology of the Greek Public Academy, studying among other things Developmental and Child Psychology, Special Treatment, Psychology of Language, Thematic Blocs for Parents and Social Psychology. I have faith in the fact that every person is unique and special. This is the reason why I always try to adapt my teaching methods and communication to meet different needs and interests. Therefore, I emphasize student-centred and active teaching approaches to engage students in their learning, which should be a continuous and personalized process. Besides, building trusting and effective professional relationships with children, young people and adults is an essential part of my role.

Personal Description:
I find Maths exciting and want to impart my knowledge on the subject to the learners in a way so as to make it interesting. I have worked in a customer facing environment for nearly 20 years and use my problem-solving and interpersonal skills to make Maths fun for the students. In my current role as an Employability Adviser in a Further Education college, I work with the 14-19 year-old students to improve upon their employability skills, including numeracy and literacy.

Teaching Experience:

I am into teaching over the past three years and over this period I am working directly with the 14-19 year-old students to make them employable by improving their skills, including in numeracy and literacy. I try to make the subject of study relevant and contextualise it with the real life situation.

Tutoring Approach:

An important feature of my teaching is the ability to change the style of teaching according to the needs and ability of the students.
I provide practical examples to explain concepts in Maths.

I am patient and a strong believer of the fact that building a sense of trust and respect help students overcome the fear of knowing the unknown.

Personal Description:
I am passionate about teaching English and love helping those who struggle just as much as stretching those who find it easier. I have 17 year teaching experience and in that time, have taught children up to the age of 13; helping older children prepare for 13+ Public School Entrance exams as well as teaching younger children to master phonics, basic reading skills and spelling. I am an experienced SATs marker enabling me to help children to prepare for these exams. I have worked closely with learning support departments in order to support and extend those children with difficulties such as dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyspraxia. I have achieved part one of a Diploma in Teaching Children with Specific Learning Difficulties. I also have a Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language which means I have an in depth knowledge of English grammar as well as an understanding of how teenagers and adults learn.

I am an avid reader and writer but a mum to a reluctant reader so I understand how difficult it can be to get children to read. I do, however, believe that there is something for everyone.

Additionally, I can teach French and German. I have taught them both to GCSE level and studied both languages to degree level.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching for 17 years and was most recently a teacher of years 5 to 8 English and French at a well-respected private school for children aged 5 - 18. Prior to that I taught at an independent prep school where I was a class teacher as well as a member of the Senior Management Team and Head of Girls' Games. I have an excellent understanding of all aspects of child development and the need to make learning meaningful and fun. I am passionate about reading as well as all types of writing and am a member of the National Handwriting Association. I am also able to include IT in the classroom when necessary.

Tutoring Approach:

This depends entirely on the needs of the child. After an initial consultation, I would be able to offer support with reading and comprehension and/or writing (whether it be handwriting or speed of writing - or both). It might be a case of helping your child to understand English grammar as well as teaching them techniques to enable them to include it effectively in their own writing. If it is a case of preparing for forthcoming exams, then this can be done by using past papers as well as my own materials devised after extensive experience of helping children prepare for all types of exams. You may just want some extra support for your child over the summer and prior to the start of a busy new term. Whatever it is, it will be done with empathy and enthusiasm.

Personal Description:
Hello, i'm a third year Biology student at Swansea University currently doing dissertation work on parasitology. I feel that learning should ALWAYS be fun and interactive as well as informative. I am currently at 2:1 level at university and know about all the stress and anxiety that schooling can put on you. I am very outgoing and friendly, and believe my skillset would help out persons who just need that extra bit of help. I am doing biology at University, but undertook my A-Levels in History, Geography, and Biology, getting A*A and a B respectively. I hope that i can be of service and help you or your child to reach the level they can achieve!

Teaching Experience:

I have done causal tutoring in the past, for family friends and my younger brother. I believe that being a student myself has given me a good insight in what approach to take to tutoring, and that this approach can be more beneficial and cheaper than some professional tutoring agencies.

Tutoring Approach:

Tutoring to me is a special role you can play in someones education, giving them a non-formal setting to learn new ideas information, while outside the stress of exams and teachers. I believe learning should ALWAYS be fun and interactive, as well as informative, but a balance needs to be struck. I use computer resources as well as books to provide an all round learning experience.
