Personal Description:
I am a native English speaker and have been studying languages for 20 years. I have travelled to many countries and experienced many cultures. I know speaking a language fluently is so important to enjoy new experiences. I have a Degree in Linguistics and have been trained in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL/TESOL). I have a variety of experiences in teaching, training and tutoring. Although I am originally from Australia I am now based in London. I have spent time learning Russian, Spanish and German, so I know how useful it is to have someone helping continuing to build vocabulary and correct language use. I also know how hard it can be to get started learning a new language. I will be sure to find out what you want to learn and how you enjoy learning the most.

Teaching Experience:

I have a Degree in Applied Linguistics and have been trained in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL/TESOL). I have a variety of experiences in teaching, training and tutoring in the workplace, in group and one-to-one sessions with both adults and children. Although I am originally from Australia I am now based in Crewe. I have spent time learning Russian, Spanish and German, so I know how useful it is to have someone helping continuing to build vocabulary and correct language use. I also know how hard it can be to get started learning a new language.

Tutoring Approach:

My initial focus will be to spend time finding out what you want to learn and how you enjoy learning the most. My focus will be what you identify as needing help with, as well as giving feedback on how your language skills are progressing. I am most happy providing conversational English practice so that you can improve your skills in interacting with others, either at work, or study or even just travelling with greater ease. I am happy to provide exercises and tasks for you to work on as well as English conversation.
I am happy to meet you wherever is convenient - perhaps a local cafe or library. I can also tutor in my home or yours if that is easier. I am happy to tutor via Skype following a first meeting if travel is an issue.

Personal Description:
I am an English and Portuguese Teacher and Translator. I translate and interpret from English to Portuguese and vice versa. I teach Portuguese and English as a foreign language.

Are you considering learning Portuguese? Here are some reasons why Portuguese might be an excellent choice for you:

• Portuguese is the sixth most widely spoken language in the world with over 230 million speakers in four continents.

• The official language of eight countries: Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, East Timor, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, and São Tome and Príncipe, Madeira and the Azores.

• Widely spoken, though not official, in parts of India, Macau, Andorra, Luxemburg, Paraguay, South Africa, and Namibia.

• The working and/or official language in important international organizations such as the African Union, the Community of Portuguese Language Countries, the European Union, and Mercosul, the Organization of American States, the Organization of Ibero-American States, and the Union of South American Nations.

• Brazil is a 21st-century economic and industrial powerhouse. It is the 5th largest economy in the world, recently overtaking the UK's economy.

• Numerous scientists consider Brazil to be the country with the most important biological diversity in the world.

• You want to learn Portuguese as it's your partner's native language and you want to improve communication between you.

• I teach European Portuguese (Portugal), Brazilian Portuguese (Brazil) and African Portuguese (Angola and Mozambique).

So what are you waiting for? Come learn Portuguese.

Are you considering learning English? Here are some reasons why English might be an excellent choice for you:

• English is the first language of approximately 375 million people, is the official language in 54 countries and is the third largest language by number of native speakers, after Mandarin Chinese and Spanish.

• When combining native and non-native speakers, it is the most commonly spoken language in the world.

• The importance of learning English cannot be overstated in an increasingly connected and globalized world.

• For the many people that come to the United Kingdom from non-English-speaking countries every year, learning to communicate in English is important to enter and ultimately succeed.

• Working knowledge of the English language can create many opportunities in international markets and regions.

So what are you waiting for? Come learn English with me.

Teaching Experience:

I have over 12 years of experience as a teacher. From 2004 to 2006, I worked as a History, Portuguese, English and other subjects tutor to primary and secondary students. From 2006 to 2012, I worked as a tutor guiding students in preparation of essays and dissertations in many different fields. Since 2012 I work as a full time Portuguese and English teacher in UK. I have experience with one-to-one and group lessons; beginners, intermediate, advanced and proficiency levels, present tuition and online tuition via Skype; teaching children from the age of 2; preparation for GCSE and A-level exams (OCR board); general training and language training for business purposes.

I have a degree in History with a teaching certificate which included one internship at a secondary school as a teaching assistant. I have a CRB and a DBS check. I did a 3-month training course for teachers at SLAS (Society for Latin American Studies) in 2012. I am flexible about working hours and commuting to work.

Tutoring Approach:

• General training: I teach how to use Portuguese in everyday situations, like introducing yourself to someone; giving personal information; going to a restaurant; asking directions; making a reservation in a hotel; using public transport, etc.

• Business: My teaching method is based on a communicative approach, focusing on achieving fluency, improving reading and listening comprehension, and expanding vocabulary. I teach the use of Portuguese in a variety of business environments, based on key skills like presenting information, taking part in meetings and videoconferences, handling telephone calls, negotiating and writing concise business letters, e-mails or reports.

• E-learning: My e-learning method is specifically designed for adults who may have limited hours available, prefer the convenience of learning online and need to improve their Portuguese language skills quickly.

• GCSE and A-level exams: I coach the student using past papers, besides writing, reading and listening exercises.

• Children and Teenagers: My lessons for children and teenagers are varied and enjoyable, with music, culture, and multimedia features to make the learning process very enjoyable and practical.

Personal Description:
I am a native speaker of Spanish with many years of experience in teaching the language to children, young people in their GCSE and A Level courses, and adults who want to learn Spanish for business or holidays. I have a very interactive and friendly approach to teaching. The structure of the courses is very clear from the beginning but, ultimately, the content and the pace of the lessons is always determined by the students. The emphasis is on having good fun while learning, and a lot of the material used in the lessons is original. As a native speaker, I always make sure that the learning experience also includes cultural aspects of the country. I am absolutely sure that you will enjoy the courses.

Teaching Experience:

I am a qualified teacher of Spanish and a native speaker of the language. For the last 23 years, I have taught Spanish at different Secondary schools in Kent. I have also taught the language privately to adults wanting to learn or improve their command of the language for business or holiday purposes, and also to young people wanting to improve their chances of a good GCSE or A Level grade in Spanish. I am an examiner for AQA and I have taught Spanish GCSE and A Level courses for Edexel and AQA for many years. So, I am very familiar with the course contents.

Tutoring Approach:

The lessons that I teach are always interactive and practical. Students dictate both the content and the pace of the lessons and the aim is always to make the learning experience enjoyable. For example, if you are an adult wanting to improve your Spanish for holidays, we would reproduce in the lessons the situations that you would normally find yourself in while on holiday in Spain or any other Spanish-speaking country: greeting people, ordering food and drink, finding your way around, buying things, travelling around, asking for help, socialising, etc... As a native speaker, I always make sure that the learning experience also includes cultural aspects of the country.

Personal Description:
Specialist in intensive Psychology, Sociology and Anthropology tuition, revision and exam preparation/technique.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught A-level full-time for 18 years and am an examiner for both subjects for a number of boards.

Many of my tutees have gone on to score 100% in units and after a comparatively short period of time improved their A-level score by several grades.

I also tutor undergraduates in Psychology and Anthropology, can advise on university choices and UCAS applications, provide university interview practice, and tutor prospective medic students for reasoning and written tasks for BMAT and UKCAT tests.

Testimonials from past and present students can be provided.

I hold a BSc in Anthropology from UCL and a PGCE from the Institute of Education, London.

Tutoring Approach:

As a specialist in exam-focused, intensive tuition, I provide tutees with clear, concise class notes and revision materials specifically aimed at ensuring they understand exactly what is required in answers, how to address exam board assessment criteria, how to structure essays, how to manage time in exams, and strategies and tactics to maximise success. Homework will be provided to tutees between sessions and marked as it would be by official examiners in live exams - thus, strengths and weaknesses can be addressed.

I am an engaging, approachable tutor who enjoys teaching and makes learning interesting, rewarding and enjoyable. However, I will make demands on tutees in line with their aspirations and be entirely honest with parents and tutees about progress.

Personal Description:
I am a Politics and International Relations graduate from the University of Sheffield.

I believe passionately in the huge value of tutoring students and take great satisfaction in seeing my students achieve their full potential. I like to act as a mentor for tutees and encourage them to think about their future. I have vast knowledge of the university admissions process through my previous work experience and am willing to offer guidance with UCAS applications and university admissions in general.

I believe all students are able to achieve the best grades, it all comes down to their own motivation, hard work and of course teaching.

Teaching Experience:

I have both informal and formal tutoring experience. I have tutored pupils up to GCSE level.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach varies depending on the student's needs and learning style. My philosophy of teaching is based on allowing the students to develop their own thinking and use real life examples where possible. I do place emphasis on past papers and perfecting exam techniques as these are essential for the students to achieve the best grades possible.

Tutoring Approach:

I place emphasis on engaging in intellectual interaction with the pupil as it enables me assess his/her depth of knowledge in the subject I'm tutoring for. It also allows me to define the pattern of analysis to employ to drive home my ideas more effectively as every individual is different in the way their thought process works.
For complex analysis, I draw from my practice experience to substitute complex terminologies and formulas with everyday items/words/events to simplify ideas and make them easily understandable in the preferred terms of the pupil. Finally, I continuously switch my position and become the student while the student gives back what he's learnt to ensure the knowledge sinks in as intended.

Learning should be fun, life is tough and the pressures of our modern world are too much. A child needs to laugh and play.
My method of teaching and learning is pupil lead, using sketches and funny drawings, we can find common ground to allow a good relationship to develop. Then just sit back and observe the pupil focused and eager to learn more.
I have Experience working with children in mainstream primary schools and also children with an autistic spectrum disorder.
I am currently employed as a Teaching Assistant at a primary school in the Lincolnshire area.
Working with year 5 children, I have a kind and understanding approach to all children of all abilities.
Working in small groups or on a 1:1 basis, I can offer support and learning at a pace that suits the person.
Running the Active Learn Bug Club after school is great fun and extra guided reading sessions.
I can help with math, English/reading and music including other curriculum subjects at primary level.
Living by the sea, at Sutton on Sea I can travel around my local area.
