Teaching Experience:

I am a professional Physics tutor with nine years teaching and tutoring experience. In 2005 I graduated from Leeds University with a BSc Physics, having achieved the second highest mark in the year. I received a PGCE (post graduate certificate in education) from Nottingham University in 2007. After which I completed an NQT followed by two years at the Brunts School in Mansfield, with particular success teaching GCSE and A-level Physics.

In 2011 I started tutoring part time while studying for a Masters in Nanoscience at Nottingham University. I graduated in 2012 having achieved the highest mark in the history of the course (79.3%), while my tutees have made massive improvements.

I have obtained a PhD in Physics. This involved using X-ray based techniques to analyse molecules and nanostructures on surfaces. The primary goal was to investigate charge transfer between these nanostructures and various surfaces. Charge transfer is very important for solar cells and organic LEDs and his research leads to fundamental understanding of the physics behind these technologies. Part of this work involved attending MAX-Lab IV in Lund, Sweden and Soleil in Paris to which involved using a synchrotron, which is an X-ray producing particle accelerator. I hope that this research will lead to developing new technologies for light flexible displays and low cost solar power generation.

Tutoring Approach:

I will work with the student to quickly find the problems they are having with physics, then rebuild their knowledge or correct their misconceptions, making the relevant physicsclear and easy to understand. Challenging questions and assignments will be set to drive, encourage and push a student outside of tutorials. This also helps to carefully assess knowledge and give them a much clearer understanding. Working through problem solving, examination techniques and confidence building exercises, I can improve a students' performance in any exam. Ultimately driving students towards their best while making the learning process fun, enjoyable and inspirational.

How online tutorials work:
Tutorials online are conducted over Skype or FaceTime using Scribbler. This means students can see me and talk to me via a video call. Scribbler is an interactive white board used by both myself and my student, it is web based so only a flash enabled web browser is required (it doesn't work on an iPad). This allows students to work with me on problems, and keep their tutorial notes in one place for revision. I also used a wide range a range of animations and online resources, which are carefully selected to improve understanding.

My third year at University was spent abroad. I chose to teach in France for 7 months in two primary schools which I very much enjoyed. I believe languages are crucial in education. My approach to tutoring is a combination of fun and work. We speak in Spanish for the majority of the lesson, and I encourage students to 'immerse' themselves into Spain i.e. we have access these days to Spanish radio, Spanish TV. I find that the level at which each student begins with is not important as long as there is a visible progress between the start and the finish of the tuition.

The basis of my lessons consists of the notions which everyone needs in order to know a foreign language, aspects related to the cultural and the real life and the attention on the typical rules of the foreign language.

With delight and interest I concentrate on the efficient use of a variety of media (songs, short films, films, books, newspaper articles, literature) which could animate the lessons.

My eagerness and determination to learn and teach foreign languages (French, English and Italian) developed my interest in analyzing, comparing and synthesizing information as well as enabling me to discover various methods of teaching a considerable amount of knowledge. Through assiduity and responsibility I managed to find the path towards mastering these foreign languages and teaching them with enthusiasm.

Foreign languages are a source of mystery, a mix of rules and originality, a mine of meanings and linguistic surprises, a challenge. I've always found them a very absorbing and fulfilling but sometimes frustratingly vast field which attracts and challenges to a thorough study and wider analysis.

I learned that paying close attention to quality of all my work and grasping opportunities to learn new skills must be prioritized by professional workers.

I have been a loyal student to BCU, where I obtained, both my Fine Art degree and my MA in Art and Education Practice. Planning for my PhD research study too. This post will help me through my research and will give me a good access to both teaching and research. I have been looking for this opportunity to teach alongside my PhD study.
I became a practicing artist and researcher in the subject of Britishness and modern values since 2003. Working from my studio as well as researching . I am interested in culture diversity and community. I am quite focused on research and combining my work with strong evidence. I also have been teaching Arabic and have strong knowledge of the Middle East culture and I can give support to students coming from the Middle East, including helping them to gain confidence and engage with other fellow students. I hope to pass on my enthusiasm for these subjects to my students as a tutor.

Teaching Experience:

Currently, I am teaching core modules in Critical Theory and Greek and English drama to undergraduate students at Cardiff University. I have passed with a high first class in my MA and a high second class in my BA in English Literature. During these years I have tutored a number of students both in school and degree levels teaching wide ranging subjects like English, Phonetics, History, Economics, Political Science among others. I have experience in teaching English, History and Sociology to KS3, GCSE and A level students for the past 2 years.

Tutoring Approach:

Through close analysis of texts and critical discussions I hope to build on my English and Humanities students a genuine love and regard for the subjects by virtue of a relaxed yet engaging teaching style.
I am available to teach on both weekends and weekdays.

Are you looking to get into a top art college but need help in preparing the best portfolio of work you can to showcase your ability? Perhaps you need a push or inspiration to challenge yourself and produce a higher standard of artwork?

That's where I come in. Having trained at two top London art schools- Central St Martins and City and Guilds of London Art School I am now a professional artist. I am offering a select number of one to one sessions for people who wish to improve their skill set by learning directly from a practising artist on a more in depth basis where each session is carefully tailored specifically to the individual.

This is not your average art class and is designed for anyone with real passion and talent for creating outstanding fine art. Due to this, an initial consultation and discussion of artwork will be carried out prior to any session in order to assess individual needs and structure. Sessions can be carried out on a flexible basis- either as a one off or on a structured ongoing basis depending.
