Personal Description:
I am a highly experienced tutor with a Bachelors in Aerospace Engineering and Ph.D in Engineering (Expertise: High-fidelity numerical simulations).
As an undergraduate student at University, I was ranked number 1 with a top average of 83.4%; I was honoured to be the Top Engineering Graduate of the Year.
At A-levels I have passed the exams (Examining board - Edexcel) with straight A grades, and my mathematics mark in particular was ranked among the top in the world.
To date, I've also authored multiple high-quality scientific journal publications.
I am extremely efficient, reliable and able to adapt to people of all backgrounds and cultures. I have excellent time keeping skills and look forward to planning ahead. I am currently tutoring a large number of A-level and University students on group and individual bases.

HELP WITH COURSEWORK / ASSIGNMENTS & PROJECTS ARE ALSO OFFERED AT UNDERGRADUATE AND POSTGRADUATE LEVELS AND FOR INDUSTRY-RELATED WORKS.

Teaching Experience:

At present, I work as a Senior Teaching Associate in Mechatronics Engineering at a leading UK University. However, I have been working as a private/personal tutor for the past ten years, helping students at three main levels: A-levels, Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. I also offer part-time lectures on Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, Aerodynamics, Solid Body Mechanics (Statics + Dynamics) and Mathematics at Universities.

I have also published some academic journal papers, for example:
(1) Upscaling and its application in numerical simulation of long-term CO2 storage (2012). Akber Hassan, W. A. & Jiang, X. Greenhouse Gases: Science and Technology. 2, 6, p. 408-418 11 p.
(2) Modelling and monitoring of geological carbon storage : a perspective on cross-validation (2013). Jiang, X, Akber Hassan, W. A. & Gluyas, J. Applied Energy, Vol. 112, p. 784-792.

The current charge of 70/hour is only applicable for students who approach me within a limited period of time. My tutoring charge generally varies from 100/hour to 200/hour. Yes, I am a relatively expensive tutor, but I have a proven track record of excellent outcomes, unmatched by any other tutor/teacher/lecturer. In fact, I have made students who were failing their degree studies become university toppers (references can be provided upon request).

Tutoring Approach:

I approach students in many ways, however, this depends on the student's character, his learning abilities and how well he knows the subject. I would always be very friendly with the tutee and get to know where he/she stands in the subject(s). There will a faster rate of teaching with regular homework given to students to ensure that they understand what they will be taught. As the exams approach it will be a matter of fast track revision, and working through past-papers in like marking schemes. I strongly believe that this would increase the student's ability and confidence, and thus leading to better performance in their examinations. In short, good results would be assured for students with genuine interest in their studies.

Personal Description:
I have a thorough knowledge of UK NC requirements and continue to work closely with CIE and Edexcel. I am very well organized and try and structure learning so that every student is clear and comfortable as to what is needed to swiftly progress between levels and am quick to intervene where this is not the case. I am a strong believer in making teaching and learning fun, meaningful and thought provoking - encouraging collaboration, presentation, debate and discussion as much as possible. I am an advocate of inquiry based and active learning where appropriate and in making the learning process as memorable and enjoyable as possible. At the same time I remain conscious of the need to constantly maintain the high expectations, pitch, pace and rigour which are needed for exam success in years 10-13. I pride myself on the fact that pupils of all levels and abilities enjoy coming to my classes even though they know they will have to work hard and apply themselves to the best of their ability. I am student centred, approachable and patient.

Teaching Experience:

I have been part of a number of very strong and well organised Humanities departments in the UK, Spain, Asia and the Middle East each of which has enjoyed high take up rates and excellent exam results and from which I have learnt a great deal when it comes to effective teaching and learning. I value collaborative working and the sharing of best practice and am proud of the network of solid contacts I have built up over time as well as the relationships I have built and maintained among staff and students, in the UK and abroad. I take care to keep up to date with the latest pedagogical practice and regularly attend events at the Institute of Ideas and the Historical Association. I am also currently working towards my Masters and am genuinely interested in reflecting on how young people best learn and how to best achieve a balance between exam success and love of subject

Tutoring Approach:

I am always looking to take on board ways in which I can improve what others and I are doing in order to raise pupil engagement and thus attainment and firmly believe that if something is worth doing it is worth doing well - and then improved upon second time round. A portfolio of pupil work, results and student/parent feedback is available. I am aware of the need for stimulating tutoring coming as it does at the end of a long day of study and have a proven track record of engaging students and getting them the top grades at every level.

Personal Description:
Currently studying full-time Pure and Applied Mathematics at the University of Aberdeen.

I am a friendly, conscientious individual who cares deeply about young people's personal and academic development.

When not working or studying, I enjoy taking care of my health through the gym and a variety of sports.

Teaching Experience:

I have over 5 years of tutoring experience. I have personally tutored 40+ pupils of varying mathematical ability, which has allowed me to refine and become very confident in my approach.

A large number of my tutees were found through word-of-mouth from former tutees pleased with their results.

I now have quite a few reviews, I have been registered on other websites for years and would be more than happy to supply references from other past tutees for your peace of mind.

Tutoring Approach:

I passionately believe that everyone deserves the best chance at school. However, more and more of my tutees are complaining that their schools are failing to provide that. It seems that due to funding cutbacks/lack of qualified teachers, only the most naturally gifted pupils are given the right attention and everyone else is left at the bottom of the pack.

I have no such prejudice. It does not matter to me if you are a straight A student looking for some insurance, or if you are a bottom set student who has always struggled with maths. All I expect from my tutees is their attention and a willingness to learn. If you care about your education and future prospects, then so do I.

I am available for tutoring throughout the year, even during the summer holidays for 1st/2nd year university resits.

I am available weekday evenings and at the weekend, just let me know which times would suit you. I reply very quickly.

I have a car so travelling to your home is not an issue, however I may require additional fuel money depending on your location.

Personal Description:
I'm a graduate of University College London in Politics and Spanish, originally hailing from south-west London. Outside of university I'm broadly interested in the subject of education, having volunteered for two consecutive summers on an education project in south-west Uganda. I've got a strong academic record, winning the prize for the top graduating student across all courses in the Arts & Humanities faculty at University College London in 2015. My specific credentials for the subjects taught are below:

Maths: A* grade in A-level Maths, with an average of 99% across the 6 modules

Politics: First class grade in every module taken at UCL.

History: A* at GCSE and A-level. Full marks in History A2 exams.

Spanish: A* at GCSE and A-level. First class grade in all Spanish modules taken, language and literature, at UCL. Lived in Madrid for 9 months, and have spent 6 months travelling and volunteering in South America.

Teaching Experience:

- Tutored LSE Politics undergraduate in quantitative methods and essay planning from September 2015 to January 2016
- Tutored a year five student Mathematics from January to June 2015, references available
- Tutored Mathematics at Common Entrance level in my final year of school in 2011
- Ran one-on-one conversation English conversation classes in Madrid in 2014
- Mentored a group of ten first-year undergraduates in my second year of university in 2012
- Mentored a GCSE-level student as part of an IntoUniversity scheme in Lambeth in my first year of university in 2011

Tutoring Approach:

For school level: I have a friendly and informal style, based on building up a good relationship with the pupil, as this is the real advantage of the one-on-one set-up. Classes are structured, but I adapt things based on the situation and diverge from the lesson plan if necessary. I also work extensively with past and mock papers because I think practice is the best way to learn. Finally when I take on a pupil I am committed - if the pupil has problems or needs help between lessons I'm happy to be contacted via email.

For university level: I take an ad hoc approach depending on the student - I also like to keep things fun and informal. Particularly in essay subjects, I emphasise the need for a clear argument and structure, attributes highly valued at UK universities.

Personal Description:
A dependable, passionate and well mannered Biomedical Science student with experience in tutoring. I am currently in my third year of studies, being trained in a pathological laboratory at the respectable Royal Marsden Hospital. In the future, I intend to undertake a PhD in my field and pursue a profession in lecturing.

Teaching Experience:

- Worked at Numberwork'n Words tuition centre as a maths and science tutor (taught pupils of all ages, from kindergarden to GCSE)
- Worked at Kumon tuition centre
- Previously tutored a student privately in GCSE mathematics

Tutoring Approach:

Personally, I believe that no child is born a genius. There was a time when Albert Einstein had to learn how to count, when Shakespeare had to learn the alphabet, or when Darwin had to learn what a cell is. With the right attitude and guidance, there is absolutely no reason your child could not follow the footsteps of the most influential scholars.

The first meeting will be a discussion with the student/parents the subject areas that need the most attention. Aside from adding to the pupil's knowledge, I will try my best to apply that information, and say why it needs to be learnt. My teaching method includes numerous questions and past papers, as this will be the most appropriate way to become comfortable with exams and get the most marks.

Personal Description:
***11+ Subject: Having successfully tutored my son 11 Plus exams for Tiffin School, I decided to teach other students in preparation for Grammar School/Independent Schools entrance exams and have great success since. I coach specific techniques, short cuts and tips which enable students to gain competitive advantages, to be "ahead of the games".

I cover 11+ VR, 11+ NVR, 11+ English and 11+ Maths subjects.

***11+ Verbal Reasoning (VR) is problem solving using vocabulary, language and mathematical skills. I coach students how to complete sequence, work out numerical codes, logical reasoning, mathematical reasoning, alphabet reasoning, word codes, patterns, anagram and coded sequences etc. My tuition helps developing students' word power, vocabulary range and reasoning skills.

***11+ Non Verbal Reasoning (NVR) is solving problems by patterns and shapes. I emphasize tackling questions on analogies, codes, similarities, series, components, patters, layering, movements, manipulations, odd one out, matrices, elements and logic etc. There are about 21 types of question set by GL Assessment, e.g. identifying or rotating the missing coded shapes etc. Strategies of ensuring students to master techniques thoroughly to a high level are implemented. My students will be able to "think on feet" and to solve problems in logic ways.

***11+ English: I prepare students for their Comprehension and Creative Writing skills, including story ideas, structure, dialogues, endings, character development, literary knowledge, vocabulary, sentence structure, spelling, grammar and punctuation.

***11+ Maths: Apart from training mental arithmetic and core maths skills, I ensure students not to get bored with numbers and formulas by introducing an element of fun into lessons, e.g. playing maths games, puzzles at the end of the session.

****Maths subjects(KS2, KS3, GCSE, A Level): Familiar with the National Curriculum, I stretch students' abilities and potentials. GCSE and A level Maths students have improved their grades and confidence following my tuition. I have proven records of raising Grade E to C, Grade D to B and Grade C to A Star.

****QTS Numeracy Skills Test: Focusing on practices of Mental Arithmetic and interpreting statistical information, I am experienced in helping candidates to pass their QTS Numeracy Skills Tests. My "Speed Methods" of calculation enable candidates to solve Mental Maths questions against limited time; "accuracy and speed" coming hand in hand. In addition, I teach Interpretation of Graphs and Data, helping candidates to identify trends and patterns; interpret statistical information; make comparison and draw conclusions when answering multi-stage questions.

I help students to make notes; look out for key phrases; draw on the graphs; identify students' common mistakes.

A basic "spoon feeding" style makes my tutees understand the techniques easily and quickly. They soon become competent and pass their QTS Numeracy Skills Tests easily after my effective coaching.

****Mandarin Chinese: HSK Exams. I am a native Mandarin Chinese speaker, very experienced in tutoring for children and adults at all levels whether it is for business, exams, travel or leisure. Familiar with the required syllabus and criteria, I'm efficient to prepare GCSE, IGCSE, IB, A Level and University Degree Chinese exams. HSK.YCT.

For the Pre-Modern Chinese Literature exam, translation, interpretation, comparison and comment on Chinese Classical Poems are taught, focusing on essay writing skills for Chinese History and Thought Exams.

I helped university student's Mandarin Grade from "Fail" to "2:1", tackling four areas of Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening skills improvement.

****A Level Sociology and Psychology: Lots of practices of exam style questions and exam techniques are the keys to gain that top mark. I aim to improve student's exam performances by going through examples and activities to develop their abilities of self-assessment or peer-assessment, thus focus on teaching essay writing skills in the format, styles used by major exam boards' Mark Schemes following the syllabus and specifications.

Students will be asked to practise past papers questions under timed condition. After weak areas are highlighted, a checklist of comments and marking will be provided.

I teach how to have most focused way to approach exam questions in order to gain maximum marks in a variety of ways:

-write balanced essays as close as to the "Model Answers".

- "read questions" (to understand what is exactly being asked), to select relevant materials, to plan and construct essays with a sharp opening, main content and closing paragraphs, using link sentences, attention on grammar and punctuation.

- using "key phrases/words" throughout an answer, link data item to the questions, giving more focused responses rather than a "knowledge list".

-develop students' abilities of evaluation, analysis, interpretation and application integrate knowledge and understanding with context and testing claims, leaving a "critical edged flavour" to the essays.

-provide alternative claims and refer them in the answer.

My teaching methods for A level Sociology and Psychology enable students to be active learners, not just sit and absorb knowledge passively. Students gained Grade A in their re-sits after my tuition defeating their original Grade D taught by their own school teachers.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching methods have enabled many pupils to successfully get into a variety of Grammar Schools (including Tiffin Girls, Langley. Slough Grammar etc). I am able to assist students in building their confidence, reaching their full potentials and stretching their abilities whilst maintaining high academic performances.

In addition, my teaching style is geared towards building problem solving skills, improving accuracy and speed, providing remedial work for those struggling as well as making study interesting and engaging.

Tutoring Approach:

Flexible approach to suit the students' needs, my methods include using past paper practice, taking direct questions from the student, explaining new topics, reviewing old concepts as well as teaching tricks and shortcuts.
