Personal Description:
I'm currently pursuing my PhD in Mobile Computing in the University of Glamorgan. I am a friendly person and get along well with people of all ages. I have a passion for teaching, guiding and in sharing what I know. I have a very good academic background with high grades in all the degrees I have earned. This has given me an all round knowledge and understanding of various subjects.
I have a keen interest for basic math and physics right from my school days and I have continued to nurture it, although my degrees are in computing.

Teaching Experience:

Currently I do part-time teaching for BSc and Master level students on project Management, Programming and Computer Networks.
I have been a private tutor for over two years and have taught A-Level, GCSE Math extensively GCSE/ A-level computing and Physics too.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is simple and straight forward. I identify the level of knowledge of the student during our first meet and also clearly understand what are the student's requirements and how much time we have. Based on the above facts , I sketch out a lesson plan with the student and upon both of us agreeing, I go ahead as per the plan.
I'm extremely patient and can quickly change my ways to suit the students skill and learning ability.

Personal Description:
I am 26 years old and I am have completed my PGDE (PostGraduate Diploma of Education) at Strathclyde University (Jordanhill).

I have a degree in English Literature and Film & TV studies at M.A (hons) level from Glasgow University - I graduated in 2005. I then moved to China where I taught English as a foreign language for 18 months. After my return I worked in finance for 1 year, and then decided to return to secondary teaching on a full-time basis. My CV is very varied and I consider myself to be an enthusiastic, experienced and professional tutor.

I take up a post at a school in August.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching in some capacity since 2003. In 2003 I was a voluntary student tutor at a local Glasgow primary school, a placement arranged by my University. In 2004 I was employed by Glasgow University as a peer mentor as part of the Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) programme, assisting younger students with coursework and building a sense of community to the department I was part of. In 2005, after my graduation, I lived in China for 18 months as a teacher of English as a foreign language to students aged 16 - 25. I was responsible for the creation of the curriculum I taught, as well as the appropriate assessment.

Tutoring Approach:

I enjoy teaching and have been teaching in some capacity since 2003. My manner is considered to be welcoming, friendly, patient and professional. I am interested in the theories of education as well as the practice of it and have experience of working with a variety of age ranges and group sizes. In addition to this, I am experienced in teaching both English language and English literature and consider myself able to approach both. I was popular with my students and I enjoyed using innovative methods in both teaching and assessment; in my EFL teaching, I witnessed a visible improvement in my students.

Although I prefer one-on-one learning, I am also very computer literate and am happy to enter into a degree of online tutoring. I am also happy to check and proofread coursework and help with specific exam preparation.

I was also successful when employed by Glasgow University as a mentor; the students I assisted were able to achieve higher coursework marks than previously.

Overall, I would say my approach to teaching and learning places an emphasis on the learner, rather than the results. I always tried to achieve a greater understanding of the subject and the material rather than better exam results (which should, I believe, be a happy side-effect of a deep understanding of the material), and this worked well with the students, who enjoyed this approach and the freedom to explore the topic it gave them.

Personal Description:
I currently work as a learning support assistant in a school for children with special educational needs. I have a masters degree in Visual Anthropology with a passion for learning. Although I studied a social science, I still have a great interest in Maths and Science, which my A-Levels focused on. I am hard working and very reliable. I understand that every individual learns differently, hence why one on one tutoring is so important. I will tailor the class to individual needs.

Teaching Experience:

I currently work in a primary school with children with special educational needs.

I also have experience in private tutoring of children aged 5 to 16, some of whom have special educational needs.

I also have spent a year in Thailand volunteering as an EFL teacher in two primary schools.

I also hold a TEFL qualification.

Tutoring Approach:

As said earlier, I believe the importance of tutoring is to tailor the lesson to the individual being taught. I am to be firm bit kind and encouraging. I want the individuals I teach to want to learn and to enjoy it. I have over the years of experience learned tricks and activities to use on one on one teaching.

My other teacher experience has been both college and school based. My first school placement on my PGCE was Holly Lodge Girls' College, Liverpool. This was a all girl's school with approximately 1450 pupils on role. I was on placement in a department of five staff and did teaching across all ability range in Key Stage 3, 4 and 5. At Key Stage 3 I delivered the ICT National Strategy. At Key Stage 4 I was following the GNVQ ICT Intermediate syllabus of work and at Key Stage 5 the VCE ICT Award. This school was a inner city school.

My second teaching placement on my PGCE was in St Gregory's RC High School in Warrington. I was working in a department of four teaching staff and again was teaching across all ability ranges in Key Stage 3 and 4 delivering the ICT National Strategy and GCSE level work. This school was a mixed gender school with 1000 pupils on role.

Personal Description:
I am a recent 1st class graduate from Exeter University where a studied Biological Sciences. I am currently a research scientist at Exeter University with teaching responsibilities. Always passionate about science and teaching I enjoy helping students to understand trickier areas of science and my enthusiasm normally rubs off.

Teaching Experience:

As I am looking into becoming a teacher after my PhD I have always been involved with schools and young people. I have taught small groups of biosciences undergraduates helping them through laboratory practicals and whilst preparing for exams. I have also taught several lessons in secondary schools at GCSE level and given practical lessons to A level students on my subject area of research. Most recently I gave private tuition to two students who had missed 3 modules of GCSE science and helped them to catch up with their classmates.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a relaxed and friendly approach to tutoring, I believe students learn better when they are enjoying themselves so I'll always try to make things memorable by involving a practical aspect to my lessons or by doing lots of trial exam questions so students learn how to conquer their exams without stress and with confidence. As I am still younger than most students current teachers I am able to command respect from students but make things fun and this makes for a good working relationship between tutor and student. I try from the onset to identify key areas that the most attention and work with the student to refine these areas.

Allied with my own personal work as an artist/photographer/digital image maker I can offer unique insight into the creative and technical requirements of image making processes to help you achieve your academic and/or creative goals.
This is about what you, as a student, would like to know and how you, as a person, shape the knowledge into your own unique art. This is the principle from which to begin - not just learning technique for the sake of it, but because you would like to express something for which the technique is the tool. My work as a tutor is about helping you develop your creative vision and developing techniques to help you express that vision - ensuring an enjoyable process of discovery.
