Personal Description:
I am an Open University graduate having completed an BA(Hons) degree. I chose my own programme of study which consisted of French,English Language Studies with GCSE/Standard grade Mandarin Chinese and Spanish. After my degree, I undertook an A-level/Higher Grade Maths course and GCSE/Standard Grade level Latin course to keep my study skills fresh and updated whilst complimenting my degree.

Prior to this, I under went a City and Guilds in Delivering Learning which taught me the vital skills required to be able to plan and construct lessons. In conjunction to this, I have also achieved my Level 1 certificate in British Sign Language.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently hired by Borders College based in Galashiels where I teach adult evening classes in Mandarin Chinese and French, which I love. Seeing my students grow and learn is one of the main reasons why I entered the tutoring and teaching profession. In conjunction with my college role, I also privately teach British Sign Language and Latin.

In addition, I have taught French to various ages ranging from Primary right through to Adult in various capacities. Furthermore, I have taught English as a Foreign Language which was a brilliant experience as it gave me a valuable insight into how people learn not only English but languages in general.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring comprises of friendliness and patience. Having studied at home for my degree, I understand the importance of a structured and warm learning environment. My motto has always been "There is no such thing as a stupid question". If you do not know the answer then the only way to find the answer out is to ask the question, whether it is for the first or tenth time. As I am so passionate about French and English along with reading and writing skills, I feel that lessons with me will be a positive, exciting and worthwhile experience.

I have always strongly believed that education is available to everyone, regardless of past experiences. The only thing that I feel matters when it comes to learning is a want to learn, if you have that then anything is possible.

Personal Description:
*** First lesson Half Price ***

Hello, my name is Elena, I am a Maths teacher and love tutoring students on a one-t-one basis (or small groups) as I believe this to be highly effective for the learners success.

I have a BSc in Chemistry with 2 years of Maths and Physics studies.
Also I have an MSc in Chemistry and A Levels in Maths, English and Italian.

My mother tongue is Italian as I was born in Italy and lived there until 17 years ago when I relocated to England. I would be a perfect support for Italian language learners.

I offer discounts for 2 consecutive hours of tutoring or small groups (so if you have a friend that needs help as well you could both work together).

I travel to the tutees.

Teaching Experience:

I currently teach Maths and for several years I have successfully tutored students privately to help them throughout their year's program.

Tutoring Approach:

In class, I use a variety of teaching methods to engage all the students and make sure they get al the support they need.

On a one-to-one basis, I assess the level on the first meeting to identify main strengths and areas for development. I then fully adapt to the student's preferred learning methods and work throughout the school's program.

With my outgoing personality I always captivate students' attention, but at the same time my determination guarantees a serious approach.

Personal Description:
I am a Spanish native speaker and I am fluent in English. I have a Bachelor's degree in Literary Studies from the National University of Colombia. I am currently completing my Master's thesis in Latin American literature in London having finished the taught components of my course at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) in Argentina, where I was living for 2 years.

Teaching Experience:

I have been living in London for around 5 months now, since moving here in late July 2013. I have about 5 months experience working as a private tutor teaching Spanish as a second language to adults in London, as well as several months of experience teaching Spanish to some English speakers in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I have also worked as a teacher in Colombia for about 2 years, mainly in pedagogical projects for Secondary School students and teaching as a lecturer for some months on a degree course in Basic Education and Spanish language and literature in Bogota.
I have a wide range of professional and academic skills acquired in the areas of research, teaching literature and language, promoting literacy and proofreading.

Tutoring Approach:

As a Spanish teacher and Spanish language and literature postgraduate student, I can offer you not only a good training in the four skills of language learning (speaking, listening, reading and writing) but also an enjoyable way to learn through didactic materials based on literature, film and music as well as an approach to Latin American culture.

Personal Description:
I am a 28 year old mum and I have a Master's Degree in English Studies/ English Linguistics, History and Economic Sciences. I graduated in 2010 in Germany. Born in Poland and growing up in Germany I am bilingual in Polish and German and also fluent in English since I have lived in Northern Ireland since 2007. I am very interested in languages and linguistics and would like to use this knowledge to help others, especially children.

Teaching Experience:

I used to give private English lessons to a student aged 11-12 in Germany when I was a student myself. Within weeks his grades started to improve and thus after a few months he did not need any more tutoring.
Apart from this one I do not have any teaching experience, however, I was an assistant manager in a restaurant in my previous job through which I gained a lot of confidence being in a leading/ teaching position.

Tutoring Approach:

Because of my own interest in languages and linguistics I would like to work as a language teacher and fascinate and inspire others to learn different languages or simply help them to improve their language skills. My personal background as well as my degree provide an excellent basis for this.

Personal Description:
My name is Ed. I recently graduated from Durham University with 1st class honours in Maths and Physics. I achieved straight A result with six A-levels including Maths, Further Maths, German, Physics, Chemistry and Chinese. I am an experienced tutor and have previously tutored students from a variety of schools and institutions. I am very patient and my primary focus is to help you achieve your goals and objectives.

I currently work in the finance industry. I also work as a private tutor for two top private tutoring agencies in London.

I am flexible and can travel to you. I am available in the evenings on weekdays and anytime on the weekends.

Please contact me for further enquiries. I can provide you references upon request.

Teaching Experience:

Private Tutor at Bonas Macfarlane, London, July 2010 - Present
I tutor a variety of subjects at different levels from primary schools to A-levels. I teach Maths, Physics, Chemistry, German and Chinese. I also offer service on giving academic advice as well as interview techniques for entering into top schools and universities in the UK.

Private Tutor at Bright Young Things, London, September 2012 - Present
Bright Young Things is the second largest tutoring agency after Bonas Macfarlane whom I also work for. With Bright Young Things my focus had been Maths at A-level and GCSE.

University Marker, Department of Mathematics, Durham University, October 2009 - May 2010
I mentored second year Maths undergraduates at Durham University. I have learned to work through the arguments and thought processes of others and give constructive feedback.

Sixth Form Tutor, Framwellgate Sixth Form College, Durham, October 2006 - June 2009
I tutored Maths (GCSE, A-Level), Chemistry (GCSE, A-level), German (GCSE, A-Level) and Chinese (GCSE, A-Level) at Durham Framwellgate Sixth Form College for three years. I helped all of my tutees achieve more than what they were initially targeting to achieve. I also learned to prepare teaching materials and adopt various teaching methods.

Teaching Assistant, Student Associate Scheme, Middlesbrough, June to July 2008
Co-operated between the Training and Developing Agency (TDA) and the target schools in the Northeast, I worked alongside experienced teachers to gain classroom teaching experience.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is simple and effective. The general framework is to go through general concepts that are fundamental to student's understanding on the subject through the use of simple examples. I will then reinforce the message and encourage students to work on more specific and challenging problems. Confidence is key and it is vital that my tutees are constantly motivated and encouraged in order to self-develop both at an academic and personal level.

I also strive to make lessons as interactive as I can. I understand the different learning needs of different students. I will always be flexible and will do my best to help you succeed.
