Personal Description:
I am an Aeronautical Engineering student at the University of Southampton. I previously studied Further Maths, Physics and Spanish at A-Level, with grades A*AAB. I achieved high grades (A*-B) in my GCSEs which were in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, French, Spanish, Latin, ICT, English (Lit. and Lang.) and Religious Studies.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored students ranging from 3 to 15 years old in subjects such as Maths, Physics and Spanish. My tutees have usually come to me with a grade requirement they can't meet and after our sessions, I am pleased to say all of them have been met.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring will be based on your learning style. I will prepare my own ideas and plans but they will be more along the lines of "points to cover" rather than a lesson plan. If you need my help, just send me a text or an email anytime. We will aim to set a goal together to work towards, whether it be getting a higher grade or just feeling more confident in a subject.

Personal Description:
I have completed PhD in Aerospace Engineering from The University of Manchester. I offer assistance to degree students in assignments and dissertations. I also offer home tuitions for GCSE and A level students. Currently I am teaching at the University of Manchester to engineering students.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught as Lecturer at under-grad level in the department of mechanical engineering, UET Lahore for almost three years. In January 2007, I joined the department, as Lab Engineer and then promoted to the position of Lecturer after completing Master's degree in 2009. The university and the department claim top position in national ranking and also enjoy the honour of being the biggest and oldest ones in the country. My career of about two years here was full of struggle and effort for excellence in teaching and research.
In addition to that I have have given tuitions as Home Tutor to GCSE and O/A level individuals and small groups.

Tutoring Approach:

I always have the highest expectations of pupils and always have had, even when it was fashionable for learning to be more "child centred"; this is an approach I have found to pay rich dividends in terms of a pupil's academic and personal development. I have always managed to maintain friendly and relaxed environment tailored exactly to what the students requires. Above all I can offer general education and career advice when it matters the most and have observed that my students usually make fast progress towards their goals and good outputs.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored maths students up to A-level for the last 3 years.

Tutoring Approach:

I explain the complicated maths concepts and formulae in a very simple manner and build the confidence of the student by demonstrating many examples on each topic. I try to make mathematics fun and enjoyable. I identify the weak areas/topics of the student and help him/her master the concepts and problem-solving in those areas/topics.

Personal Description:
I am a graduate of Balliol College Oxford and have been teaching in London ever since leaving many years ago now. I live in West London with my family (although I am originally from Yorkshire) and like it here. We are all keen musicians too.

Teaching Experience:

As Head of Physics Department and then Director of Studies for two major Independent Sixth Form Colleges I have 35 years experience teaching A level Physics for many exam boards as well as examining. I wrote an A level revision guide for Penguin books called 'Masterstudies - Physics'.
I have taught mostly in small group situations but each year also teach a few individual students.

Tutoring Approach:

I enjoy communicating the underlying concepts in Physics and interactively building up a full picture of how the subject works for a student. I don't rely on a mathematical approach to the subject but encourage students to develop an all-round ability based on reasoned thinking as well as maths. Several students I have taught over the years have achieved 100% in A level Physics

Personal Description:
As part of my maths degree I followed a 'second string' in languages, enabling me to spend a year studying in France, which broadened my horizons and encouraged me to spend further periods living and working abroad. I have travelled extensively around Europe; I believe the best way to learn about another country and its culture is by experiencing it. My philosophy in life is to try anything once!

Teaching Experience:

I have taught English as a foreign language in Turkey, Germany and China, including both group teaching and one-to-one tuition.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that tutoring must be tailored to the specific needs of the learner, with regard both to the material which is to be covered and the style of the teaching. The key, above all, is to ensure that the tuition moves at the learner's own pace, enabling him/her to fully grasp each section of the material before moving on to the next.

Personal Description:
I am a Master candidate in Finance and Investment in Bristol University. I come from China and graduated from one of top 10 universities in China with a Bsc in Physics. I am good at math, physics and finance. I obtained a national wide math competition reward and a reward for physics when I was in Senior high school in China. I also have good communication and patience, which I think will be helpful as well.

Teaching Experience:

No professional teaching experience. I had opportunity to help and share with freshmen in my university about my studying and learning ability every year.

Tutoring Approach:

Help student to learn with right order and help them to build their own learning strcuture. A intergrate system of knowledge in students mind can be extremley helpful, which can lead to efficient learning in their future study. Just like put things into correct drawer, I think it is what I am good at.

Personal Description:
I'm a final-year First Class LSE Economist with over four years' experience teaching 200+ students. I attained 11 A*s at GCSE; a 98.2% average at AS-Level, the highest in my year; 4 A*s in my self-studied A-Levels, achieving 100% in ten exams; and the top mark in my 2nd year at LSE, winning the "Economics Examiner Prize", and the "Rishi Madlani Award" for Macroeconomics. I own Enspire Academy, an 11+ creative learning tuition centre, and Advantage Maths and Advantage Economics, which offer Edexcel and AQA A-Level revision courses.

It may therefore surprise you to learn that I dropped out of school when I was seventeen to begin work as a private tutor, while studying for my A-Levels in my spare time. To put it simply: I hated school. It was either too fast or too slow for me. I became frustrated, outpaced and bored. My attendance dwindled through my GCSE years and by sixth form I realised my time at Sutton Grammar was better spent helping other students and independently studying for my own exams. My headmaster, to whom I am very grateful, was gracious enough to permit me to take my remaining exams at Sutton and to my former teachers'’ joint surprise, I achieved the highest AS-Level grades in the year and went on to receive offers to read Economics at LSE and Cambridge.

I am now fully committed to helping other students achieve their academic pursuits. After graduating, I plan to complete an MPhil in Economics at Cambridge, train at Oxford as a teacher, and then live the rest of my life doing what I love: tutoring!

Awards:
- Rishi Madlani Award: for the highest mark (91) in Macroeconomics (EC210) out of 600+ LSE students
- Economics Examiner Prize: outstanding merit in my 2nd year at LSE
- ifs Young Business Writer of the Year 2013: My article came 1st in the country
- Royal Economic Society Young Economist of the Year Competition: 3rd internationally out of 750 entries
- Harvard Prize: Highest grades in the year
- Young Enterprise Achiever of the Year 2012
- Jack Petchey Award for mentoring younger pupils and my general contributions to school life
- GCSE Prize & Business Prize

Teaching Experience:

At A-Level, I specialise in AQA and Edexcel Economics. I've been particularly successful at AS-Level where two of my students achieved full UMS (100%) in both modules (feel free to check my reviews). Over the past few years I've developed a wealth of adoptable and effective techniques, strategies and frameworks to help students achieve the very highest marks. I am currently working on a revision guide and Youtube tutorial series which will pull together an expansive collection of model answers, real world applications and evaluation points that I've created with students, teachers and examiners into a concise, comprehensive and understandable set of resources.

I also run Enspire Academy, an 11+ tuition centre which exploits creative teaching and new technology to deliver a highly effective and rewarding educational experience. Our focus on creative learning manifests itself in our content design: Pokemon Percentages, Disney Movie Script Writing and Verbal Reasoning Hangman have all proven to be huge hits with our students, while in no way detracting from their educational development. 11+ preparation can be crushingly dull; my aim is to turn it into a more stimulating, interesting experience for students, and work more to build academic skills that will endure beyond entrance examination.

Tutoring Approach:

I'm a big fan of technology so all notes are made on my iPad and lesson audio is recorded; both notes and audio are then synced to a Dropbox account for parents to access, allowing students to review past lessons (particularly useful around revision time) and parents to understand how best to help their child improve. I also use a screen capture software to create video tutorials, with my students as narrators, which leaves them with a wonderfully personalised set of revision resources and reduces lesson time wasted on repeating past content.

Strategy and mastery are key to exam success. Assessments take place before the first lesson so I can get an initial (admittedly sketchy) understanding of a student's profile. The first lesson is designed in reflection of assessment performance and aims to evaluate: potential achievement, current weaknesses and pace of learning. From here we can agree on targets and a route to achievement. I keep a spreadsheet of my students' past mistakes, which we habitually review in the lead up to final examination, while building a comprehensive series of revision materials (videos, recordings, flashcards and more). Repeat mistakes are tackled with an infinite question generator (for unlimited practice), past paper exercises, or, in more niche cases, I will design individualised worksheets to specifically address the problem topic.

I'm always happy to go into more complete detail about my approach - please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Personal Description:
I am a 33 year old maths teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience. I am currently working as vice chairman of a volunteer group. Our aim is to try and save Whiston library from permanent closure and turn it into something that is not just a library but also a community hub where the people of the local area can engage in various community activities. I have wanted to teach from a young age (weirdly!) and see it as a way of giving something back to the local community, as well as having a keen knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject I teach.
I undertook a 3 year teaching degree at Liverpool John Moores University at their IM Marsh Campus in Aigburth between 2000 and 2003 and graduated with a 2:1 with honours in Key Stage 2/3 Mathematics education. My teaching qualification means that I am fully qualified to teach maths between the ages of 11 to 18, in addition to being able to teach upper primary pupils, although it had been nearly 10 years since I last taught in a primary classroom! I also have A Levels in IT, English Language & Literature, Pure Maths & Statistics, General Studies and French in addition to my teaching qualification.

Teaching Experience:

After graduating in 2003, I began my teaching career by doing supply teaching with Select Education (Liverpool), working in a number of short term posts in different schools in Knowsley and Liverpool. I also worked voluntarily for 2 days a week in Prescot Primary school in Knowsley teaching mathematics to a whole class of Year 5 children as well as working with small groups. I also ran booster classes in maths for Year 6 pupils who were Gifted and Talented in the subject (Working towards level 6) in preparation for their National Curriculum tests (SATs).
In September 2004, I began my first full time teaching role at Holly Lodge Girls' College, passing my NQT induction year in the summer of 2005. Between 2005 and 2006, I was given responsibility for creating a transition unit based on government documentation to help Year 7 pupils to settle in to life in secondary school before they were setted in the subject. During my time there, I gained experience of teaching a wide variety of schemes of work (Key Stage 3, Modular GCSE, Coursework, Linear GCSE) and also taught sixth form GCSE resit classes for 2 years. I was also a form tutor for 5 years carrying my form through from Year 7 to Year 11 and participated in the school PSHE programme where I was involved in designing a unit of work for year 7 pupils with regards to financial management and calculations.
I left Holly Lodge in July 2009 due to my father becoming seriously ill and his subsequent death and took a year out of teaching to begin a family history research project before returning to the profession in September 2010 by working for Celsian Education (Liverpool) as a supply. However work was few and far between so by September 2011, I moved to another agency The Education Specialists. But once again work was far from plentiful. In October last year, I joined Our Whiston Library Group (OWL) as a campaigner/volunteer with the initial aim of opening in April 2014 in partnership with Hugh Baird College of Bootle, but they withdrew at the last minute leaving our group to make a bid on our own to take over the building. I became vice chair of the group in October 2014. A copy of my CV is available on request.

Tutoring Approach:

Despite having tutored family members for GCSE and A Level studies in the past, as well as proof reading university assignments for friends and family, I have never registered as a private tutor before. But my aim is to provide the same approach to tutoring as I did in the classroom. A firm but fair approach with an easy going manner and reasonable expectations of what pupils can do. Recent OfSted and media reports have heavily criticised the standards of numeracy and maths teaching in the Knowsley and Liverpool areas. My aim is to give something back to these communities. I am also able to provide tutoring in newly introduced Free Standing Maths Qualifications (FSMQs) such as financial calculations and money management. I also have a vast electronic collection of resources as well as books, at my disposal that I have collected over my teaching career.
My tuition rates are lower than the average due to my main target area of Knowsley (Mainly Prescot and Whiston) being a deprived area. I am prepared to travel to homes, but please be aware that I use public transport and that it is difficult to get to certain areas, in particular after 6/7pm. I can offer tutoring from my house in Whiston and may be prepared to offer online tuition (Via Skpe) in the future.
One of my aims for the Whiston Library project is to use the library as a base for tuition so students would be able to be tutored there as there are study areas and resources such as computers and potentially an interactive whiteboard. All being well, we aim to try to take over the building from Knowsley council in early 2015, so watch this space!

Personal Description:
I undertook a 4 year Law Degree from the University of Hertfordshire and now work for the UK's Financial Regulator utilising my legal skills gained on the degree course within the world of Financial Regulation in Canary Wharf.

I know how tough it is to study law so I want to give back to the next generation and stop them tearing their hair out fretting over Criminal, Contract, Tort and EU Law which believe me aren't the greatest of subjects to do when you are a law newbie!

I am offering both online based tuition via Facetime/Skype and by email to proof read essays at early drafting stage. In addition I can travel if you prefer face to face tuition at either your home or public place.

I have been fully CRB checked as part of my job at a government Quango (Treasury department) but due to data protection regulations I cannot forward the certificate due to it being held by my employers.

Teaching Experience:

While I was on the Law Degree I utlised my spare time to tutor my fellow academic students who were struggling on areas of law I demonstrated academic excellence. I believe my experience of being both a struggling and high achieving law student gives me a unique opportunity to target my teaching with methods that are proven to bring results.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to break down each subject into bitesize components that allows for the information to be digestable and remains memorable within exam conditions. I try to keep a relaxed atmosphere to keep the student comfortable within the learning environment.

Personal Description:
I am currently a PhD researcher working in electrochemistry at the University of Strathclyde, where I also completed my Masters degree in chemistry and chemical engineering. My aim is to become a lecturer as I have a strong passion to teach the subjects I love.

In 2012 I was awarded the prestigious Undergraduate of the Year in recognition for my commitment to my subjects with relation to low carbon technologies. The core concepts behind these are mathematics and chemistry which I am able to deliver to the student in an easy to understand manner with supporting materials to aid in their learning of this subject.

With biology I have completed this to an Advanced Higher level and have an equally strong understanding on the subject.

Teaching Experience:

I am a demonstrator for undergraduate students physical laboratories in the University of Strathclyde which involves teaching large number of students various concepts and experimental techniques. This requires the ability to convey information in a simple manner and assist them on a one to one basis as they need it. All the students I have helped through this have achieved high with some approaching me to ask if I would help them through private tuition. The students I have tutored privately have said that I have helped them understand the core principles behind their subjects much better and that it has significantly improved the grade they expected to receive.

Additionally, as a PhD researcher I also look after students from different universities during their summer projects and final year Masters' projects. This involves in depth one to one assistance to teach them the theory, experimental techniques and analysis of their data. On top of this I help with their presentation of themselves through oral presentations and viva defenses of their projects.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to turn my students' weaknesses into their strengths. I would like to have an initial meeting (no charge) with both the student and their family to discuss the areas they either struggle with or would like to improve upon. From this meeting I will create a customized plan targeted to the students requirements and ambitions. With both short term and long term goals set we are able to track the progress of the student and alter the tutoring plan to achieve the best results.

Despite not being a teacher my career objective is to become a lecturer and as such I have a number of different teaching methods that I like to use a combination of to best aid in the development of not only the students knowledge of the subject but the method in which they will tackle all challenges throughout their life.
