Personal Description:
am an experienced A Level teacher and examiner for Economics. I currently teach both Economics and Business Studies to A Level and have helped in excess of 150 students achieve an A or an A*. The majority of the students that I work with will increase their grades by at least 1 whole grade.

I am one of London`s leading exam technique experts and regularly deliver exam focused workshops focusing on improving the analytical and evaluative skills that students so often lack and don`t focus on.

I can support you with carefully structured private lessons and guide you with the knowledge that I have gained as examiner for several of the main exam boards for both Business Studies and Economics.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently tutoring GCSE and A Level Economics and Business Studies (AQA and Edexcel for both Economics and Business). I mark exam papers for Economics and Business studies so can easily tailor your specific tutoring requirements to the exam requirements.

Tutoring Approach:

I will carrry out an inital assessment with you to ascertain where you struggle most of all, following this inital assessment we will set a plan to follow, setting target grades and regular assessment for you to complete. I will ensure that your lessons are fun and interactive but with the main aim of improving your target grade. I will ensure that the lessons are fun, interactive but most important of all ensure that you improve your understanding and therefore your final grade.

I am happy to take questions on homework that you are stuck on during the week and encourage you to do so. Please see the previous feedback.

Personal Description:
I have been a journalist for 25 years and have a love of the English language. I have also written several books. I decided to start teaching English as a Foreign Language last year because I love English grammar and wanted a new challenge. Now I have the advantage of being a writer of English as well as a teacher which enables me to help people with both speaking and writing.

Teaching Experience:

I have qualified on the Trinity College, London, TESOL course at Universal Language Training in Woking. During the course we gave over six hours of teaching and subsequently I have been teaching on a one to one basis.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is to get the student to do most of the work, speaking and writing English, and thinking for themselves rather than all the prompting coming from me. I tailor the work to their needs, so if it is a business client we look a the situations they encounter in their work and using role play we practise English in the workplace.

Personal Description:
I made a first class in physics, also had a Distinction in my Masters degree in Physics Electronics. I am currently pursuing a PhD degree in Optical Engineering in University of Aberdeen, Scotland. I love Physics and Maths, it's always a privilege that I get to teach it and interact with new people on these subjects.

I am very friendly and approachable. And also love to inspire my students when teaching.

Teaching Experience:

I was a volunteered teacher of GCSE after graduation for a year before becoming a lecturer at the University of Benin, Nigeria in 2009 and taught for four(4) years. In University of Aberdeen, I have been actively involved in demonstration and tutoring of these courses.

Tutoring Approach:

Firstly, I try to understand the strength and ability of my student and know which teaching technique is appropriate. It's also important I establish a solid understanding of the basic concepts and review previous lectures and assignment with the student, thereby increasing his/her confidence. Students need to be actively engaged in their learning so I will always give them more examples, exercises, space and guidance to work out the answer for themselves.

Personal Description:
I'm a young aspiring graduate petroleum engineer with a passion to be the best at what i do. I also have a passion for helping people get through challenges especially in areas I think I have the ability to.

Teaching Experience:

I have various informal experiences of teaching. My formal experience of teaching dates back to 2012 where I was the Grade 5 Mathematics and science teacher at an elementary school in Lagos Surburb, Nigeria, West Africa. I also used this period to do some private tutoring for various client teaching children that were preparing for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in giving people what they need to understand the concept. I believe that a keen understanding of any problem matter is the key to solving not just that problem but tougher and more challenging ones that may be encountered in the future. I believe in a simple to gradually increasing complexity of problem tackling, ensuring that key concepts areas are well understood from simplified ones.

I have over six years of teaching experience across a broad range of subjects in literature, film and media studies, art and history. I am friendly, professional and passionate about my subjects and I believe in encouraging my students to access their enthusiasm about these subjects in order to unlock their potential. I have experience writing and coordinating my own courses in the areas of film studies and art history. I have published my own research into literature and film. I am a practicing artist.

Teaching Experience:

I have over six years experience teaching at university across a wide range of subjects in English literature, critical theory/philosophy and film and media studies. I have written and taught an Art History course on the relationship between Art and Revolution at the Cornerhouse (Home). I also have substantial experience tutoring at GCSE and A level. I have experience helping students with their reading practices, assignment preparation and preparing for exams. I have substantial experience offering proof-reading and assignment and dissertation support to undergraduate and postgraduate degree students.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in an active and student-centred approach to learning whereby I provide the support and expertise that enables my students to play a central role in their own learning and development. My approach is to draw out my students' interest in their subject in order to develop their confidence and ability to engage academically in the most effective way.

It is important when teaching to develop this enthusiasm within the structure of the particular syllabus or course outline - I encourage my students to understand and respond to what is being asked of them, whether it be for an assignment, presentation or exam. I also aim to develop my students' ability to respond to and structure ideas and arguments in a logical and clear way. I endeavour to make my teaching engaging and interactive, incorporating diverse and innovative approaches to ensure active and enthusiastic student participation.

Personal Description:
I have a strong academic record:
-I have a BA Hons in English from Oxford University
-I received a scholarship at the end of my degree to study for a year in Japan (where I also taught English as a foreign language)
-I obtained 5 As at A-level and 8 A*s and 1 A at GCSE.

I`m passionate about learning and helping students achieve their potential. I also believe that learning should feel safe, fun and adventurous and that it`s a skill for life, not just for school.

As well as time in the classroom I've spent time in the corporate world and enjoyed training and coaching adults here too: be it sales teams, new marketing recruits or direct reports. Teaching is in my blood!

Teaching Experience:

-I am a qualified teacher (with QTS). I have 2 years experience teaching English at KS3, KS4 and KS5 level in school. I have also taught Media Studies at KS4 and KS5 level.
-I spent a year in Japan teaching English as a Foreign Language to young people and adults, in both classroom and 1-on-1 settings.

Tutoring Approach:

FOR KS3, KS4 AND KS5 TUTEES:
I will first spend some time with the tutee doing some assessment work to find out where their strengths (very important!) are, as well as areas of opportunity for them. I'll also spend some time working out how they learn and making them feel safe and a valued participant in the learning process.

I'll then design a program of study for the agreed timeframe that I believe will raise the students attainment level (as well as addressing any other issues: e.g. confidence, exam technique) as efficiently as possible. I'll try to make it an enjoyable, rewarding process as well!

FOR DEGREE LEVEL / ADULT LEARNERS / OXBRIDGE ENTRY:
We'll spend some time discussing your objectives and timeframe and agree a program of study together to get you where you want to go: whether this is working on a particular piece of literature/literary period together, enhancing your soft skills for interview, or working on your literacy I can work with you to achieve your goals.

Personal Description:
I am an enthusiastic and professional student who has a desire to learn, and to help others learn. :-)
I think that this makes me an excellent candidate not only to help other students, but to help them enjoy learning!
I am currently studying for a MChem at Cardiff University.
I also received all A's for my A-Levels, and 8 A*'s at GCSE.

I can easily form good relationships with other academics and colleagues as shown through my previous job experience. I also possess strong interpersonal skills, which have been developed through my many years of experience in both professional jobs and also some tutoring experience within schools.
Having a job throughout my studies has meant I have acquired a capacity to manage workloads to a good standard, including undertaking the whole of my third year of study at university while employed full time as an intern at the aircraft engineering company Airbus.

Teaching Experience:

I have recently completed voluntary tutoring experience within a 'Number Buddy' Scheme, where I entered schools to teach school children who were struggling with various problems in their curriculum for the whole year. This was incredibly rewarding, as the regular sessions meant that I could see the improvement made.

My grades throughout my education have been high, and so I have commonly helped other students with their work. This is mutually beneficial, as I think that you can learn something new from almost everyone you meet, including students who you are also teaching!

Tutoring Approach:

I like to get to know the tutees, and how they would like the sessions to run. This allows me to research the curriculum so that I can provide the highest level of tutoring possible, but also so the tutees can get as much out of the sessions as possible.

Once we become familiar with each other, a mixture of Q&A based 'flip-learning', where the tutees tell or ask me areas where help is needed and we can work through together, is used alongside test and exercise based learning. The exact nature is definitely dependant on the individual.
