Personal Description:
I am an enthusiastic, outgoing and committed person with a positive outlook on life. I am very passionate about Physical Education and Sport and am very adaptable to suit the needs of the individual and understand that everyone learns in a different way. I give everything my all and believe that it is vital to build a positive relationship with those you are teaching to help each individual reach their full potential.

Teaching Experience:

I have been private tutoring since Sept 2011 and find it very enjoyable and an extremely rewarding experience. I have been tutoring alongside working in Education and have tutored four pupils over the past year. In July 2010 I completed a PGCE in Secondary Physical Education. In 2009 I graduated with a 2:1 honours degree in Coach and Physical Education at The University College Plymouth St Mark and St John. Completing my PGCE and Undergraduate degree has enabled me to work with a wide variety of people and personalities. Both University courses and working in Education have given me the opportunity to develop and gain experience and knowledge in both theoretical and practical aspects of Physical Education. I relate very well to young people and feel that I can help pupils develop a better understanding of the subject through private tutoring. I have taught many areas of PE as well as the practical side I have also taught BTEC sport, GCSE theory, AS and A-level (all areas and both OCR and AQA)

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that understanding the individual in which you are teaching and the way in which they learn is vital. It is important to develop different acitivities to ensure that they are learning the best they can, this may be visually, auditory or kinaesthetically. A complete spectrum of teaching styles, strategies and approaches is needed to create a positive, effective learning environment and I believe that my experience so far has allowed me to develop this approach.

Personal Description:
I am a native English speaker and have been studying languages for 20 years. I have travelled to many countries and experienced many cultures. I know speaking a language fluently is so important to enjoy new experiences. I have a Degree in Linguistics and have been trained in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL/TESOL). I have a variety of experiences in teaching, training and tutoring. Although I am originally from Australia I am now based in London. I have spent time learning Russian, Spanish and German, so I know how useful it is to have someone helping continuing to build vocabulary and correct language use. I also know how hard it can be to get started learning a new language. I will be sure to find out what you want to learn and how you enjoy learning the most.

Teaching Experience:

I have a Degree in Applied Linguistics and have been trained in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL/TESOL). I have a variety of experiences in teaching, training and tutoring in the workplace, in group and one-to-one sessions with both adults and children. Although I am originally from Australia I am now based in Crewe. I have spent time learning Russian, Spanish and German, so I know how useful it is to have someone helping continuing to build vocabulary and correct language use. I also know how hard it can be to get started learning a new language.

Tutoring Approach:

My initial focus will be to spend time finding out what you want to learn and how you enjoy learning the most. My focus will be what you identify as needing help with, as well as giving feedback on how your language skills are progressing. I am most happy providing conversational English practice so that you can improve your skills in interacting with others, either at work, or study or even just travelling with greater ease. I am happy to provide exercises and tasks for you to work on as well as English conversation.
I am happy to meet you wherever is convenient - perhaps a local cafe or library. I can also tutor in my home or yours if that is easier. I am happy to tutor via Skype following a first meeting if travel is an issue.

Personal Description:
Hi, I have always had a love for languages and would love to instil you with the same enthusiasm. After having lived abroad as part of my degree, I then graduated with a BA Hons Degree Class 2.1 in Modern Languages (German, French and Italian), after which I obtained my Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). After teaching, I also worked for International companies, using my languages extensively by liaising with customers and colleagues overseas and also translating and interpreting. I have always kept my languages fresh by reading foreign literature and keeping in touch with German / French friends. I am mother to 4 children, but even after my children were born, I continued to do some freelance translation. As a mother and as a teacher, I know the importance of patience and how important it is to make learning worthwhile, enjoyable and fun!

Teaching Experience:

After qualifying as a Languages teacher, I have taught German and French in a Comprehensive School to the 11-18 age group. I have tutored teenagers and adults privately in both German and French. I have also provided French classes in one of the International companies I worked for.

Tutoring Approach:

I can offer a learning program which is specifically tailored to suit the individuals needs, whatever the level of knowledge or ability. If required, lessons can be adapted to focus on specific areas such as grammar or conversation practice. My experience in using languages in a business setting also means that I am also well placed to teach lanuages to adults for business purposes. I am a perfectionist and will strive to offer the best tuition possible, by thorough preparation and the use of a variety of learning materials and approaches. If required homework can be set to consolidate knowledge learnt. I want your learning to be productive and engaging. It can open a window into foreign culture and soon you will realise how much fun it is to be able to communicate in another language.

Personal Description:
Hi there,

Whether you just need just some extra help for exams or need that A in GCSE's or A-Level I'd love to help you.

Teaching Experience:

Teaching for 5 years in West London. 6 months in Midde East teaching. Experience teaching across KS3, KS4 and KS5.

Tutoring Approach:

From teaching experience I know what the main misconceptions are and use this to base my teaching on. So before we begin a topic I try to tease out any difficulties a student may have and go forward. For me building confidence in maths is one of the main building blocks to helping a student improve substantially.

Personal Description:
Hello I am a native French tutor. I not only teach French because it is my mother tongue but because I think it is a very beautiful and interesting language but also a difficult one to learn. I myself have had to learn two foreign languages, English and Spanish, and I know how difficult and frustrating it can get but I also know how rewarding it is when you make progress.

Teaching Experience:

I am now working as a French Assistant in WGSB in Watford with A-level students, my part being to help them prepare their oral exam. It is my second year in WGSB and I really enjoy the task. I have also worked for a French Language school giving daily 3 hours lessons to teenagers and younger children from around world who come to France to improve their knowledge of French. In Spain where I lived for 7 years I gave private French tutoring lessons mostly to Adults.

Tutoring Approach:

Languages are made of vocabulary, grammar rules and barbaric sounds you just cannot get to pronounce sometimes:). They also reflect and convey a culture and a way of life which should be a part of the learning, especially as it seems to me that those cultural elements are the ones which can actually make the learning easier and more varied. And finally but not least I think learning a language has to be playful and agreeable, otherwise you will unconsciously reject the language and progress will be made much more difficult. Learning about others and learning to communicate in a different language is a great experience. Try it:)

Personal Description:
I completed my Master in Fine Art Painting degree from the Slade School of Fine Art in June 2014 with the classification: Distinction. I currently continue my professional practice in an artist studio in London.
Originally from Glasgow, Scotland, I studied an Undergraduate BA Honours Degree in Painting at Gray's School of Art, The Robert Gordon University, (Aberdeen) 2006-2010. Since graduating in 2010 I continued my independent art practice in both Edinburgh and Glasgow-based artist studios, exhibiting my art work in various galleries throughout Britain including Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh and London.
Whilst in my third year as an undergraduate, I was awarded a commendation award for a series of paintings which were exhibited in Aberdeen Art Gallery as part of the 2009 Aberdeen Artist exhibition. In August 2012 and August 2013 I was awarded a grant from the Dewar Arts Awards to assist towards the cost of tuition fees at Slade School of Fine Art. In 2013 I also received an award from the Scottish International Education Trust and North Lanarkshire Education Trust towards the cost of tuition fees during my second and final year on the MFA course. Upon completion of my Masters degree I was nominated by the Slade Professor as the recipient of the William Coldstream Prize 2014.

Teaching Experience:

I currently work in various secondary schools in London as a Supply Teacher, specialising in Art & Design. In August 2013 I was employed by the Slade School of Fine Art to assist with the Summer School which ran until September 2013. During this time I set up classes and materials for tutors and was encouraged to give practical and theoretical advice to students. For 6 consecutive years I have worked with South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture in out of term play clubs for children age 5-12. During the out of term clubs I lead art activities for children and host face-painting sessions. In addition to this I have held term-time art classes for children, supporting creative development and promoting art from a young age. I have experience in working with both mainstream and ASN (Additional Support Needs) groups therefore I am able to adjust tasks/activities as per individual children needs. I have gained various experience with regards to feedback on more advanced artworks. Studying at university level, I take part in group critiques on a regular basis I am able to form constructive comments to peers with regards to their artwork.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is varied depending on the age of the student. I am optimistic and believe that to make art one does not only draw on their strengths but also their weaknesses. Good tips on how to let ones mind be more creative and able to assist from all angles whether it is an accurate likeness through drawing/painting, to more creative and abstract works. Although I am a painter my practice is driven by drawing and I have also made small maquettes and sculpture pieces. I also have experience in printmaking and can use my knowledge to support the student as per their personal interests in the Art field. I own a good supply of books of which I will make available to the student during the sessions.

Personal Description:
I am a graduate in BSc Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics external degree programme where I studied under a full scholarship for four years. I am committed to becoming an expert in the field of Economics and Mathematics and currently tutoring full-time before going to study MSc Economics at LSE starting September 2015.

Outside of university and in addition to tutoring I work as a swimming instructor teaching pupils aged 2 to 40+ in groups and on a 1:1 basis. I teach at private residence and specific leisure centres and have been in this role since 2009 and have thoroughly enjoyed it I also find it a nice complement to tutoring.

Recreationally I swim up to three times per week and play five- a - side fortnightly a remnant of my more sporting days as a school and college student. During that time I competed on many sports teams including Rugby, Hockey, Water Polo and Cricket.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a Mathematics and Economics tutor for 4 years in this time my reliability and skill has enabled me to develop a good reputation which has allowed me to have a consistent base of 15 - 20 students on a weekly basis.

I have tutored university students attending Russell group universities such as Queen Mary and Warwick and have taught GCSEs and A-levels across all major exam boards including AQA, Edexcel, OCR and iGCSE. Additionally I have had students admitted to prestigious private schools such as Eltham College and Bromley High after excelling in their 11+ exams.

Career Highlights!

- Academic Year 2011 - 2012 I helped a student who was predicted a C grade at GCSE to achieve a coveted place at Eltham College after passing a difficult 16+ exam, we then continued to work together to secure an A grade at GCSE

- Academic year 2012 - 2013 I helped a student who scored a D grade at AS Economics achieve an A grade at A2 level after 8 months of tuition. He was the only student to score an A grade in his school since 2007.

- Academic Year 2013 - 2014 I helped a student who scored a C grade at AS Economics achieve an A grade at A2 Economics with an impressive 97% in Unit 1, 99% in Unit 2 and 100% in Unit 3. He had also had three previous tutors who he was dissatisfied with before coming to me.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching approach embodies a long term approach to learning I teach students in a way which will allow them to be successful in higher education as well as their more short term exams. I also try to make students more confident in their abilities overall not just the material I teach.

I strongly believe that a solid understanding of basic principles is the foundation to success in academic study. I concentrate a lot of time and energy on instilling these basic principles in students.

I am also a strong believer in understanding over 'rope learning' I ensure that pupils understand what they are doing and why they are doing it, never encouraging them to simply regurgitate what they have seen previously.

I also encourage practical understanding of concepts frequently referencing real world examples and using objects to illustrate theory as I recognise that theory on its own given no relevance is harder to remember. Supplementary to this I also relate teaching material to potential job roles and tasks which I have knowledge of (mostly Banking or Business related) in order communicate usefulness to students and keep things interesting.

Finally I believe teaching successfully is ultimately about listening to your students I constantly encourage students to question things and express anything they don't understand or are not too sure of. If a student looks unsure or hesitant about something I will ask open questions or get them to explain concepts to me in order to fully grasp their understanding. This also helps build their confidence and ability to express themselves accurately.

Personal Description:
I am a graduate of the University of Cambridge with an excellent academic understanding of the law. My published work includes an article in the Journal of Criminal Law.

I also have broad experience of the law in practice, both in the UK and in other jurisdictions. I have recently returned from volunteering at a death penalty defence office in Louisiana where I worked on an appeal to the US Supreme Court. I am currently employed as a paralegal at a highly respected criminal law/human rights firm, and in September will be undertaking the Bar Professional Training Course.

I thoroughly enjoy tutoring, as it allows me to pass on my passion for my subject to others.

Teaching Experience:

I have a large amount of tutoring experience, both in teaching areas of substantive law and in guiding students through the university admissions process. With regards to Oxbridge applications every student I have tutored has received an offer on their chosen course.

I am able to provide tuition to those studying the law at both A-Level and degree level, as well as to those applying to university, writing personal statements and preparing for the LNAT/Cambridge Law Test.

Tutoring Approach:

Understanding that each individual responds best to different styles of teaching and learning I adapt my tutoring approach to every student.

I encourage my students to reach their full potential, whilst also providing the necessary support in order for them to do so.
