Personal Description:
I might be expensive but I am worth it as your child will see a marked improvement in their results and confidence levels. To assess whether I am the right tutor for you I offer the first lesson for free.

I am also offer short intensive GCSE and A-Level courses over the holidays. Each course is 1-2 days long and works through at least six complete past papers. The classes are kept small (maximum 8 students) and focus on real exam questions, exam technique and ultimately grade improvement. If you use UKTutors to contact me about the courses I will deduct their fee from the course price.

I was awarded a First Class Honours degree from University College London in 1997 and went on to study a PhD in Quantum Mechanics. On successful completion of my PhD in 2001 I started work at Thales Research and Technology (TRT) where I led projects on Adaptive Learning Systems and Information Management. I initiated the first programme to span the three TRT laboratories in France, Netherlands and UK in the area of Cognitive Systems research. I then went on to set up and lead a large collaborative team between TRT and University of Surrey to study remote collaboration technologies. I joined General Dynamics United Kingdom Limited in 2005, primarily to ensure exploitation of DIF DTC technologies into the UK Ministry of Defence Equipment Programme. I received my Chartered Physicist status in 2004 and am now a director of an innovation company.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experience ranges from teaching GCSE students all the way up to teaching PhD students to improve their thesis writing skills. One of my students improved from a D to an A at GCSE level after just six months of tuition with me, and commonly students improve by at least one grade.

Tutoring Approach:

My tuition method involves making Maths and Physics fun so that children and young adults will remember their lessons and overcome the "I can't do science" syndrome. So that you can assess whether or not I am the right tutor for your child I offer the first lesson for free.

I am a Chinese native speaker who is fascinated by my own culture and language and have a passion to teach this great subject and keen to share the beauty of my language with others.
I hold a Certificate in Language Teaching to Adults, which is issused by Goldsmiths College, University of London. I am so delighted I have achieved "A" grade in my teaching practice assessment in above university. Also, I have finished the other part time teacher training courses on the lifelong learning sector. I believe that that private tutor's post will be a great opportunity to put my theory study into practice, improve my teaching skills and fulfils my ambition.

Teaching Experience:

My experience included:
Teaching my own children Chinese.
As a Chinese community teacher.
As a Chinese teacher at a local goverment funding adult learning center.
Employed by different language agent as a freelance Chinese tutor.
Self employed as private Chinese tutor.

Tutoring Approach:

I would stick to one or two straightforward objectives for one lesson and kept my materials as simple as possible. I would use contrasting pictures, colour word cards and self-made flashcards in order to make the lesson interesting and easy to follow. When presenting new grammar, I always try to kept it basic and simple. Moreover, I would use self-made puzzles to guided the learners to using logic, intuition and elimination to make up a character. It is also important to make learning fun and entertaining so I would try to maintain some humour when teaching. I would like to make the lessons interesting, enjoyable and memorable and students obtain the knowledge of the Chinese language through entertaining and the subconscious way. Last but not least, I would use up-to-date course books and learning material.

Personal Description:
I am a mature man, a UK resident (10 years) from California.
I love what I do: helping people getting started with computers or mobile phones or showing them how to use the "online world" (safely) or teaching software applications such as SKYPE and Microsoft Office.
My first hour with you is free and after three hours I pay any UKtutors' fees for you. There is a discount for OAP and learners on benefits.

Teaching Experience:

I have been working in the computer field for 20 years and I have taught computer learning in many situations from creating my own public computer classrooms with drop-in and organised learning to formal business-based teaching in offices.
I have developed video tutorials for computer help desks and groups like charity organisations.
I have worked with users who need extra accessibility help due to vision or other related needs.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a friendly personable approach that works with most learners with you deciding how, what, when and how much you want to know. Because of my experience in many different settings I can quickly decide the best approach for you.
My tutoring is based around individuals needing simple help, but we can go much more 'in-depth' if that will help you. Perhaps you could share our time with a friend or arrangements can be made for social groups learning together during one of your meetings.

Personal Description:
I am hard working teacher, who has worked at a number of different teaching establishments. I am a friendly, reliable individual, who strives to get the best out of students.
I enjoy exercising, spending time with my family and friends and I run a netball league for local girls wanting to get fit. I am organised, flexible and have experience of one to one tutoring.

Teaching Experience:

I currently teach A-Level and GCSE Sociology at Garforth Academy. I also teach Social Policy, Health and Social Care and Equality there. I have worked for OCR and have marked students A-level exam papers over the summer period. This hasn't given me great insight into what examiners look for when marking exam papers.

Previous to this, throughout my teacher training I taught at Minsthorpe Academy, Leeds City College and Doncaster College where I taught on the Access and A-level courses.

I have experience of tutoring A-level sociology students including helping a student achieve a C at A-level when her grade was a predicted U. I also have experience of tutoring undergraduate learners ensuring they know how to reference and write academically.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a calm focused individual when tutoring and understand that a key part of it, is to develop a working relationship to ensure the learner feels comfortable. I understand the learner wants to achieve the best possible grade and through planned, structured sessions this will be achieved. I am available to tutor online and have done this a number of times with learners at both A-level and undergraduate level. I am a patient tutor and have the ability to adapt my teaching strategies to ensure the learner is fully supported.

Part of my tutoring rate includes planning sessions and travel expenses. I am flexible in my tutoring and I'm available most evenings or weekends.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified teacher, specialising in Mathematics and Science, but with a background in engineering. I gained my degree in Aeronautical Engineering back in the late 70's, having chosen the subject mainly to continue with my love of applied maths. I worked for some years as an aerodynamicist before studying for my PGCE in Cambridge.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught Mathematics in the capacity of a supply teacher and that of a 1 To 1 Tutor for some years now. This has allowed me to continue to work whilst also taking a major role in the wider education of my children who are now themselves studying at university. I was a Governor of 2 schools in Wiltshire, involved with PTFA here in Lancashire and help to run Preston Pride Basketball Club. For 2 years I successfully tutored pupils in school at Fleetwood High and more recently I taught Catch-up GCSE mathematics to students at Cardinal Newman College, helping them to gain some very good results.

Tutoring Approach:

I try to make lessons enjoyable, believing that learning happens more easily when you are having fun. For many students a few lessons 1-to-1 with a sympathetic teacher will help them to gain a surprising amount of confidence, allowing them to partake more fully in their class at school. I will tailor lessons to each individual's needs, without compromising on curriculum or attainment. I firmly believe in the basic values that respect every individual and strive to help everyone achieve their potential.

Personal Description:
Bonjour! Hello!

Coming from France, which is my native country, and currently living in Doncaster, England, I would like to offer you my knowledge of the French culture and language.

As a native French speaker, I grew up in France, lived and studied there up to now. I am fond of teaching my mother tongue, as well as helping students develop their communication skills

I have always wanted to live abroad because it gives me the opportunity to pass on my knowledge and to teach my mother tongue while exploring a country and a way of life different to mine. Living in England is the best way for me to improve my English skills as well - although I have passed the TOEIC test with a score of 790/990 -, while discovering British culture more deeply and the beautiful landscapes too. What is more, I am really interested in languages, foreign countries and travelling, and I do enjoy teaching. England has always been a country I tremendously appreciate for its historical heritage, for the attractiveness of its environment and for the beauty of its region as well. I would truly like to take advantage of my situation while living in Doncaster to work and increase both my English and more generally, my knowledge.

Likewise, I cannot help but think that being a native French speaker would be a great advantage for both the students and me: indeed, this would definitely enable me to teach everything about the reality of being French or of living in France or any other French-speaking country nowadays.

I really want to teach my language and my culture to other people, because I love sharing my knowledge with others and, thanks to that, acquiring other skills which can be very beneficial in life experience.

Teaching Experience:

I do enjoy teaching my language to people, whatever their level or skills: I like helping a beginner to make his first sentences as well as studying in depth a difficult text or training an ordinary conversation.

Moreover, my experience in the field of sport animation seems to me to be a plus: I have indeed become a regional table tennis coach and trainer for young people, because I really enjoy working with children or teenagers, and it has also enabled me to approach certain pedagogy and some teaching methods.

Anyway, I will be very glad to tailor our lessons to your requirements.

Tutoring Approach:

As said above, I will tailor and adapt my lessons to the needs of my students. I can help them prepare an exam, train them to oral comprehension and expression, to reading or writing and to get into conversation with them as well.
I like using different supports such as texts, videos, audio recordings and songs.

Rather sociable and willing to improve, I have a sense of responsibility and organisation: I know how to adapt myself, and how to show rigour too. I also have a sense of solidarity and mutual aid; I am someone dynamic and willing to help; and finally I am used to putting a lot into my work and into what I undertake.
