Personal Description:
I have a first-class honours degree in History and a Master's degree in American Studies (History) from the University of Manchester. I wrote my Master's thesis on the negotiation of Arab and African American Muslim multiple identities through Islamic hip-hop in the post-9/11 period.

I'm a Marketing Executive at Capital Properties and manage marketing and communications for a number of high-profile commercial clients including Spinningfields and Old Granada Studios. I also work as a copywriter for Union Street Media Arts. I volunteer for Saheli (an Asian women's refuge) and I'm a mentor on the University of Manchester Gold Mentoring programme.

I love to read, write, paint and travel and I have a keen interest in hip-hop studies, music activism and human rights.

Teaching Experience:

I have over 5 years' experience as a tutor having worked as a peer tutor at Bridgewater State University in the USA in 2008 and having since worked as a GCSE English tutor for the Tutor Trust (2011-12). At the Tutor Trust I delivered small group tuition and large group revision sessions in Manchester's disadvantaged schools and sixth form colleges.

Tutoring Approach:

I take a structured approach to tutoring and develop a clear plan with objectives for the student and I to reach together. I work at the student's own pace and provide bespoke tuition which is tailored to the student's needs and learning style. My sessions are clear, engaging and stimulating.

My tutoring style is to facilitate rather than teach. I guide the student in the right direction and provide additional support with study skills, time management and organisation. Ultimately I encourage the student to build confidence in his/her own ability.

I also provide proofreading services for undergraduate, Master's and PHD theses. I check grammar and spelling to a very high standard and offer in-depth feedback on analysis/argument, structure, knowledge/understanding, sources and referencing, and style and presentation to help students achieve the grade that they are aiming for.

My name is Matthew and I am an experienced mathematics tutor up to GCSE Level. I hold a 2:1 degree in Engineering and a post graduate diploma in strategic Business Information Systems from University of East London. I hold a full CRB check which is available on request.

Teaching Experience:

I am presently working as a Mathematics cover teacher in one the community schools in London and I am very passionate about my subject. I got into teaching to make a different in young peoples lives and to help inspire young people towards further education. I have successfully tutored many GCSE students and their remarkable result speaks for itself. I Love challenges; one of which is to help students with special needs to achieve their best possible.

Tutoring Approach:

I undertakes a motivational approach to teaching. Experience has taught that most students lack confidence in their ability and often under rate what they already knew. I often start by assessing my students and creating a learning log of their strength and weakness. This enables me to set target and bench-marks on what we need to learn, how best we need to learn and how much we need to learn. However, I am very flexible, friendly and a realist.

Personal Description:
Hello, I live in Sunderland. I have a B A (Hons) degree and a Certificate in Education specialising in Maths and English and I have also attended relevant courses (for example in Dyslexia Awareness) and have a Counselling certificate.

Teaching Experience:

I have had approximately 20 years experience of teaching English, Maths and I C T and this has included helping pupils to prepare for the SATs tests. I have worked with children and adults on a one to one basis and in groups and fully understand the needs of both.

I have had extensive experience teaching in schools and am therefore familiar with the requirements of the national curriculum key stages 1,2 3 and 4.

I also have a vast array of resources and past exam papers and can also create resources that are tailor made for a specific pupil.

Tutoring Approach:

I enjoy working creatively and will tailor learning to the particular interests of the pupil if necessary as I feel that this makes the work more interesting and meaningful for them. I have established excellent relationships with pupils in the past and have a sensitive, caring and thoughtful approach.

In the first session I carry out an assessment in order to get an idea of the needs of the pupil and use this as a trial session. Pupils don't have to continue unless they are happy with everything.

Personal Description:
I am a French/Italian 22 years old young man, who lived in France, Italy and England. I have finished a Master of Physics at the university of Central Lancashire and I am currently doing an internship at the European Space Agency, where I work on mathematical models that I develop.
I will be starting (September 2013) a MSc (Master of Science) in Modern Applications of Mathematics at the university of Bath.

On the other hand I also worked as a technical translator (French to English - Italian to English) for Transcription Global and NitroPDF..

Teaching Experience:

I have experience as a private tutor in Maths, Physics, French and Italian. I have worked both in France and England, where the teaching methods sometimes differ, which is an advantage for me, as I know different ways to teach the same concepts.

Tutoring Approach:

I love studying as much as I like teaching/tutoring. I believe that everybody can understand everything, as long as the person enjoys what you are teaching him/her. Passion is what has always led me so far: I think I am capable to transmit this passion.
Moreover I am very patient; I started helping my little brother in Mathematics, who is now studying fine arts and hence did not have much interest for this course. However he managed to have very good grades thanks to me.
I have a lot of experience with young people of all age, as I have been a boy Scout and a chief Scout.
Therefore I know how to adapt my teaching approach to each individual person I have to work with.

Personal Description:
Hello,
I'm 19 years old and have worked since I left school. I, on occassions, baby sit for family and friends.
I'm an outgoing and happy young woman with a passion for teaching and tutoring, my favourite subjects at school were maths, psychology and sociology, child care and law.

Anything else you would like to know I will be more than happy to answer.

Teaching Experience:

My experience is not qualification based but I have in the past been asked to tutor foster children, including those with special needs and challenging behaviour.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring differentiates from person to person.
I find where the person is struggling, what kind of motivation they will respond to and go from there. I try to stay away from text books because I find that if it is possible to explain and show the student it is easier to understand rather than just showing them what to do.

Personal Description:
I am a fun and understanding person who really enjoys watching people grasp concepts and and knowledge they previously couldn't quite grasp.
I am currently in my fifteenth year of teaching. My experience of working in both inner and outer London schools leads me to believe that I have the skills, ability, knowledge and resources to help you fulfill your true potential in Science.

Teaching Experience:

I have had excellent lessons with very successful feedback in key stage 3, Key stage 4 and A level Physics. From my OFSTED inspection, I attained a level one and my lesson was referred to in the whole school report as an example of excellence.
I have been the Head of Physics and Second in charge of Science at different school. This has given me a lot of experience of the New National Curriculum and can tailor appropriate resources to a students needs.

Tutoring Approach:

To create an environment of ease for the student. Where the pupil is free to ask questions and make mistakes to gain a greater understanding of what is going on.

To use great resources to help give the student gain concrete knowledge and exam question to help consolidate their knowledge. This will also give the student the familiarity and confidence for their Summer exams.

Personal Description:
I am a 22 year old female, currently pursuing MSc in Economics from London School of Economics and Political Science.
I am from India (Delhi) and have completed my Bachelor's in Economics from the University of Delhi. I scored 92.8% in my GCSE equivalent exams and 92.6% in my A-Level exams. I also secured a distinction in my University with 78.3% marks. In my A-level exams, I scored a 95% in Math, Economics, Physics and Chemistry.

I am a budding writer. I worked as a correspondent with an online social media website for 15 months. I am a very passionate and driven individual and I am forever looking forward to expanding my horizons. Currently, I am in the process of learning Spanish while also serving as the Treasurer of my Hall Committee (Bankside House, LSE).

I am very fond of reading and some of my favourite books are- "To kill a mockingbird- Harper Lee", "A palace of Illusions- Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni", "A thousand splendid suns- Khalid Hosseini" and "The Help- Kathryn Stockett".

I am an enthusiastic traveler and have visited the following countries- USA, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau and Mexico. Currently, of course, I am staying in the UK for my Masters degree.

I love making new friends and meeting new people. I am forever looking for new experiences and strongly believe that every individual I meet has something new to teach me. I believe the biggest motto in life is to be happy and everything else must follow that.

Teaching Experience:

I have a substantial amount of teaching experience. I have taught Economics to high school students. I have also been a Math tutor to children aged 10-12 years and 14-17 years. Since my course is highly mathematical, I believe that I would be able to the students a deeper understanding of the underlying concepts. My entire education has been in English medium schools and hence, proficiency in understanding and speaking English is not an issue.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring style would largely be determined by the nature of the individual I am dealing with. Patience being my strong suit, I am happy to explain the same concept for the millionth time if so needed. My academic record has been quite exceptional and I keep myself updated on the newer methods of teaching and learning. I believe I can tailor my teaching style in accordance with what the student would be comfortable with.
I focus on relating concepts to real life experiences and observations which help to imprint them in the minds of the students and de-emphasize rote learning since then memory plays a crucial role in performance.

However, I do focus on making assignments which I expect to be handed back to me (flexible deadlines, of course) and I do give regular tests to assess if my student is able to coherently express his/her ideas in accordance with what is expected in an examination framework.

I am happy to give a trial class for ₤18.

-- Security for web systems

* Computing concepts for business:
-- Web project management for businesses
-- Search engine optimisation and Internet marketing

Tutoring Approach:

The first and most important step in my tuition is to identify the motivations and learning styles of the learner. This is an important part of the process because it allows me to identify what knowledge is to be taught, and how - i.e. whether the student is more receptive to visual, auditory or kinaesthetic (hands on) learning. With this information to hand, I am able to identify the type of learning experience that is most suitable for the learner.

Upon the identification of the student's needs and learning style, I create and provide access to an interactive visual learning roadmap. This is an online tool that students and their parents can access, providing details of:

* The plan for each lesson.
* Progress made for each lesson so far.
* Success in learning activities engaged.

My system also allow both the learner and their parents to take more control of the direction of their tuition by providing the ability to:

* Make suggestions.
* Questions and receive answers.

By allowing all parties involved to receive notifications, my system ensures that everyone is kept updated about what is expected from each lesson and what is required in advance.

My visual learning system also has the ability for interactive apps to be provided, allowing learners to practise their learning at home or on the move using their smartphone, tablet or desktop computer. Apps can provide progress reporting, allowing parents to review how much practise and improvement has been made on a week by week basis.
