Personal Description:
I have 5 years experience working as a Spanish teacher in secondary schools in London teaching years 7 to 13, and my exam classes have a very good track record. I have worked with both Edexcel and AQA in this time, so I know what it takes to get the best grades, especially at GCSE. I am also very happy to work with younger children, helping them to feel more confident with mastering the basics in a language. If your child needs extra support or practice with any particular area, just let me know.

I have made several trips to South America, and have lived in Chile and Spain. I am also a fan of Spanish and Latin American films and literature, so if you would like to incorporate some more cultural aspects into lessons just let me know, as this can be very motivating.

Teaching Experience:

I am PGCE qualified, CRB checked, and have been working as a Spanish teacher for the last 5 years.

Tutoring Approach:

I get on well with children and young people, and would be happy to focus on any area with which they needed extra help. Sessions would be individually tailored and at the student's own pace. If there are any specific texts, exam boards or textbooks with which the pupil is working I would request some advance warning of this.

Personal Description:
I am an accountant by profession (FCCA) but my main passion is inspiring children to become achievers! I am friendly, professional and can relate to children in a very exceptional way - through humour, understanding and teamwork.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a Maths Tutor for over 8 years. All my students have developed a love for Maths. Once the student has been taught the basic foundations and then realises that that there are several methods to use to solve a problem and finds one to suit them, they find Maths a challenging game and it becomes fun and rewarding. I have significantly raised students' grades.

Tutoring Approach:

I became a tutor because I believe that, by teaching a child how to focus and be interested in something as important as education, they can achieve the satisfaction and pride in obtaining very high grades. The experience teaches them a very valuable lesson in life: anything is possible with hard work and if your attitude is attuned to enjoyable, it's not work! It's just getting to where you want to be.

I graduated from Foreign Language Teaching department in Turkey and taught English and Turkish during my university life. I came to UK in 2008 and since then I have been working as a private Turkish Teacher. I worked at many language schools, some supplementary Turkish schools and British Armed Forces & Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I have lots of good references available on request.

Teaching Experience:

Private Turkish Teacher(2008-Date)in London
Private English Teacher(2004-2007)in Turkey

Tutoring Approach:

First I try to know my students and then talior my lessons as their needs.I focus on their weak parts at language acquisiton and ask them to recall things they learnt from the previous lesson.I generally try to give examples from daily use and focus on 4 skills.
I believe the importance of repetition that is why at the beginning of each lessons I make small quizes and want them express themselves in their writing exercises.I also use some audio visiual materials to improve their speaking and listening skills.

Personal Description:
I have studied a broad range of subjects during my Bachelor's degree (English and Classics, RHUL) and Master's (Comparative Art and Archaeology with Law, UCL). My main interests lie in English literature of the Victorian and Medieval periods, Fin de Siecle Art and Theory and Archaeology.

Aside from my studies I play a lot of sport (lacrosse, rugby and athletics) and have captained teams at national and regional level. Due to my teaching experience (see below) I am comfortable working with children through to adults on a broad range of subjects.

I am dedicated to providing all my students with the time they need to improve, thus will only take a certain amount of students at a time. At the moment, I have space for 2 A-level students and 2 more Higher Education students.

Teaching Experience:

German, Maths and Drama Teaching Assistant - Chancellor's School - 2006/2007

Tutoring Approach:

Academic experience: I have worked in private tutoring, state and private schools, university departments and know how examiners mark and what they expect. I have worked for 2 prestigious Universities and am adept at entrance documents and applications. In addition, one needs to be constantly aware of the changing curricula, mark schemes, and student specifications, knowledge and understanding of which can guarantee a 95%+ grade.

Encouragement: As a sports captain, Head of Year prefect and Global Citizenship Mentor (UCL) I realise the need for a pupil's confidence to be built up before they can achieve better. In my opinion a pupil is never failing, they can just achieve more.

Planning: It is essential for us to have an organised lesson plan, and plan for our future sessions so we can map where we should be heading and what we have achieved. Many students suffer from poor organisation which, if remedied, would immediately proffer far better results.

Education: During my past 8 years of college, undergraduate and graduate university I have been educated in a host of valuable disciplines that help interest and inspire any student.

Personal Description:
At 19, I went to India instead of University and returned seven years later to join a four year degree in Drama and Education at The Central School of Speech and Drama. Life then filled with relationships, children and the usual complications of everyday life. There was a lull after twenty years when I returned to education at 40, realising there was no need to say, 'I wish I'd studied English'.
This late second flowering informed the transformation of my life since English and Drama studies enabled me to engage with complex literary, philosophical and socio-psychological theory to develop new ways of seeing, reading, interpreting and engaging with education. Continuing education enables me to make new sense of my rich, varied, exciting, dynamic, dramatic and privileged life.

Teaching Experience:

I have ten years' experience of working full-time in a Further Education College. I have been responsible for extraordinary success rates for students of GCSE English, A Level English Language, English Literature and English Language and Literature combined. My particular strengths lie in finding ways to help adults who have not been successful students to find new ways of learning, understanding, applying theory to practice and to pass exams.
I am now a University Lecturer in English, Linguistics, Critical Theory, and Study Skills.

Students might attend for a short, sharp, intense period of tutoring whilst preparing a dissertation, undertaking research or responding to an assessed assignment or they might come weekly for on-going support with a subject or approach.

Tutoring Approach:

Every individual is different and thus my approach to tutoring is fluid. I work with students as a coach might work with an athlete: you will play to your strengths and develop strategies to address areas that could benefit from improvement, gradually improving your performance and results. We will find out just what makes you tick - what you like doing and what you don't like doing. We might consider how these preferences developed and what weaknesses your strengths conceal while we will work together to establish a reliable set of tools and techniques that you can build on and develop to support your own independent learning.
If you like cars we might change a tyre and consider how this exercise could help you remember the elements you must memorise for a linguistic analysis; if you like cooking we might create recipes for successful essays.
Tutoring is designed around you, using your strengths to support you as you improve other areas.

Personal Description:
Hi!

My name is Simon, I am 27 years old and a native German.
I have been teaching German for private students and at a professional language school for the past five years in Germany, Australia and England.
My university degree is in English Linguistics, and I also speak Spanish and French fluently.

Working as a language trainer has immensely enriched my life experience and filled me with tremendous joy. I truly love languages and would love to be given the chance to keep enthusing students with knowledge about my native language and culture.

Should you be interested in hiring me as a tutor, simply contact me via phone or email. I normally respond within 24 hours.

Teaching Experience:

5 years as a private Tutor and Language Trainer at various professional language schools

Tutoring Approach:

To give my students the confidence to talk, talk, talk. No one has ever learned a language without making mistakes. We were all beginners once.
You won't learn unless you're having fun doing it. Every lesson should be as enjoyable and rich in variety as possible.

Personal Description:
I am a Cambridge graduate and a full-time, professional tutor with a friendly approach to tutoring, placing emphasis on confidence-building as well as knowledge attainment.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring at varying levels, from 11+ to University, for nearly three years, and am now a full-time tutor working for agencies, institutions, local authorities and private clients. Most of this work has been preparation for a particular exam, although I have also had students who are studying just for the enjoyment of it. I feel well-suited to being 'on the other end' of the one-to-one style of teaching that I benefited from at university.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is friendly and informal. I prefer to let the tutee dictate the pace of a session by encouraging them to interrupt or ask me to repeat when we hit upon work they are not fully understanding.

I have found that the most efficient use of a tutoring session is for me to first outline the theory of what we are going to study in that session to the student, and then use the remainder of the time to work through questions with the student as they become progressively more comfortable with the content until, ultimately, they feel able to answer the questions alone.

The content of the sessions is always tailored to the particular qualification the student is working towards, and the student has complete autonomy over what we study together.

Personal Description:
I am an experienced language teacher and examiner. A native French speaker, I tutor students of all ages, from primary to undergraduates.

Teaching Experience:

Since my PGCE, I have taught languages in secondary schools for 13 years; French to A level and Spanish to GCSE.

I am an examiner for one of the country's leading examination boards and mark examination papers. In the summer I conduct speaking tests in schools.

I have taught French in primary schools and after-school clubs and tutor people wanting to learn languages for pleasure or to help them communicate more effectively on holiday.

I also work with language undergraduates and support students wishing to achieve or improve their grade at the examinations.

Tutoring Approach:

I am friendly, patient and tailor my lessons to individual needs. My aim is to build confidence in speaking and using languages by using a variety of materials and making learning fun. I regularly use games to practise or reinforce vocabulary and grammatical structures. I aim to make all my lessons fun and enjoyable, though with a clear focus on learning outcomes.

Personal Description:
My name is Ellen and I have been teaching for fourteen years. I have a vast amount of interests and hobbies. In my spare time, I enjoy going to the cinema, eating out, theatre, walking, reading, eBay and I also work in a shop part-time too.
I have a clean driving license and I am willing to travel to pupil's houses, or they're welcome to be tutored at mine.
I am hard-working, committed and always eager to learn. I rarely have a day off sick, I just keep going!
I am also a member of a local meet up group, which is based in Chester and North Wales. I often participate in these events, I feel it has allowed me to meet more like-minded people. I'm a land lady on rented property, so I have to be professional and organised. This is when my teaching skills come into place!
I strongly believe you have to live life to the full, and grab every opportunity you can. Life's too short.

Teaching Experience:

I have a vast amount of teaching experience. I have taught in the primary sector, ranging from Nursery up to Year Six.
Within my teaching career, I have been a History and PSHE Co-ordinator, where I was responsible for up-dating the school's policy, ordering resources, monitoring other teachers performance in these subjects and organising educational visits too.
I always ensure children's work is marked daily, with constructive or positive comments on their work. I also think praising the children is important, this is done through reward systems. When in permanent teaching positions, I have always ensured that the environment is bright, colourful, fresh and stimulating. Wall displays, illustrating children's work from a varied ability is important.
I always ensure affective discipline is carried out in the classroom and I always accommodate for each child's needs, differentiating if necessary.
During my teaching career I have organised class assemblies in front of the whole school, ensuring that each child has a piece of reading to be read or an acting role to be carried out, the assemblies often link to their theme they've been learning that particular term.
I always follow the Foundation Curriculum and the National Curriculum in a professional way.
I can work as part of a team and communicate with parents on a professional level. I'm hard-working and always ensure that children are happy and stimulated in their learning environment.

Tutoring Approach:

I have been tutoring since 2007, however, in 2012 I did take a break. I always ensure my lessons are appropriate for the child's learning, and after a day at school, I always try to make the lessons as stimulating as possible.
Sometimes the tasks may relate to the child's experience, this is done through reading and writing. I also incorporate celebrations and multi-cultural events in the lessons too, I feel this broadens the child's outlook in life.
My lessons incorporate writing, reading and comprehension.
I always give feedback to the child and parents at the end of each lesson. I ensure my lessons are delivered in a professional manner.

Personal Description:
I am a second year student who is currently studying at the University of Greenwich and I study Chemistry BSc Hons. I am aspiring to be a Chemistry teacher in the future as I would love to share my passion and education with the generations below.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught at many tuition centers and I have been teaching from home for nearly two years. All my students have come away from my teaching with high grades and they have all eventually gotten into good London universities such as, The School of Economics and Political Science or Queen Mary University.

Tutoring Approach:

As I am currently a student, I work with other students very well as I understand the stress and pressure and help they need. I work by teaching them topics in the beginning but then I like all my students to gain a sense of independence when working as that's what they will need when they are in the exam. Many students make the mistake of learning from a textbook, word for word, when the key is understanding, that's what I give in every single subject I teach as that's what differentiates from the A grade students to the other students.

I also give the older students support and advice with their university applications and I also help with open days, I like to be more than a tutor, I like to be my students support so they can be the best they can be in their future work or education. At the end of the day 'If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough' - Albert Einstein.

Personal Description:
I am an enthusiastic person, very passionate about teaching. I love my mother tongue (Spanish) as well as English and really enjoy helping people in the learning process of a foreign or native language. I am very resourceful and see myself as positive and persevering. I have tons of patience and I do think anybody can learn a new language or improve their own one if they want to.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a teacher of both Spanish and English for 10 years, experience acquired in my home country (Colombia), in which I have taught children, adolescents and adults. I am currently studying a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) in the North West Regional College in L/Derry (Northern Ireland). I have a Bachelor in Modern Languages.

Tutoring Approach:

I consider my approach as communicative as it is eclectic, it takes features of different methods and approaches to let the learner practise several skills. I am very patient and design the lessons according to the student's needs.
