Personal Description:
I am a very keen and enthusiastic university graduate and love to help others learn. I specialize with children and young adults. I am a good role model as I am bubbly, show confidence and balance my career with my social life including my sports (rock climbing and snowboarding).

I have a range of experience in childcare and tuition and find different ways for my pupils to understand the materials they are learning. I find ways in which they can relate to the information which helps them retain the information for longer.
I have had several years of experience with private tutoring producing great results (please ask if you would like a reference).

Teaching Experience:

All throughout my University degree I was working part-time at Explore Learning, a Maths and English tuition center designed to help children with their national curriculum between the ages of 5 and 14. This has given me valuable experience on many different teaching techniques as well as keeping up to date with the new learning strategies that children are using in their day to day learning at school.
My one on one tutoring experience ranges from GCSE level to Primary Maths and English including other topics such as Current affairs.
On a sporting level, I gained my Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors qualification in 2009 and have continued to teach snowboarding over in Italy with Interski in my university holidays.

Quote from a reference: 'Rabia will definitely miss your cheery and happy persona. She has had other tutors but with nowhere near the enthusiasm and effort that you put in! She looks forward to you coming and has a real connection with you.'

Tutoring Approach:

I have many different approaches to learning, dependant on the age of the pupil. I like to use targets and rewards to keep motivation levels high and learning is fun by relating the subject to my tutee's everyday life. I ensure there are several reviews and assessments to enhance progression and keep on track.

Personal Description:
I have several years English teaching and GCSE examining experience following my degree and am currently teaching English/English at GCSE, A level and undergraduate level on a private basis. I have an MA in English which I passed with merit, and have recently embarked on a further Master's degree in Literature and Culture in 19th Century Literature and Culture.

Teaching Experience:

I originally taught A Level and GCSE English in FE colleges. Following this I started private tutoring in English at all ages and levels along with some basic Primary maths. More recently my work as an English Literature examiner has enhanced my understanding of student needs and of course the requirements of the GCSE exam syllabus. As I have been tutoring for some time now I am familiar with the varying requirements of all the major exam boards in GCSE and A level English Language and English Literature.

Tutoring Approach:

The greatest thing is seeing the student gain in confidence as their ability grows. One to one tuition enables the student to be honest about problems that are difficult to raise in the classroom at school or college. Consequently the tutor can focus on the individual needs of the student. This is the philosophy I adopt in tutoring. I am very conscientious, approachable and happy to adapt to the needs of the individual student , then watch them thrive.

Personal Description:
I have been a teacher all my professional life, although for ten years I worked in the theatre as an actor, fight director and singer. I love teaching and I love music. Most importantly, perhaps, I have never stopped learning!

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching English, French and German for 25 years. I studied English at Oxford; worked in Germany, studied in Spain and have my main home in France. My first GCSE Spanish class all achieved A* and A grades. I recently trained in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, so I feel up to date with current teaching methodology. Nevertheless, I adapt my teaching style and methods to benefit my tutees. I teach adult evening classes and give private tuition in French, Spanish, German and English Literacy.

Tutoring Approach:

I will come to your home and talk to you about what your learning requirements are and will tutor in order for you to maximise your potential in line with your requirements. All tutees have different learning styles and preferences, too, so I will pick up on yours and shape our lessons accordingly. We will work proactively, and there will be specific goals and targets for each lesson so that you will be able to chart your progress. My colleagues think I have a great sense of humour, and I have sometimes found it to be helpful in a teaching situation. I am, however, totally professional in the conduct of my lessons and tutorials.

Personal Description:
I have recently finished a BA Degree in English Literature and Language at the University of Oxford where I recieved a 2.1 degree. I did my A-Levels at Greenhead College in Huddersfield, which was voted number 1 sixth-form of the year by The Times, and I achieved A* A* A A. My focus is mainly English, maths and history for all ages up to A-Level standard, but I also offer Study Skills advice and tuition for the 11-Plus and the Oxford English admissions test, the ELAT. I am calm and polite, unpretentious and enthusiastic, consistent and professional in behaviour, but always friendly and never clinical.

Teaching Experience:

I have roughly 4 years of tutoring experience and have worked with ages ranging from 10 to 40 on various different areas of Maths, English and History.

Tutoring Approach:

I understand the value of your education and the importance of a personalised approach to learning. I advocate a focused, disciplined education, but understand how to motivate younger, or less mature tutees. I know my fields well and keep up to date in current advances - anything I need to learn, I will, swiftly and with pleasure. I am perceptive, able to quickly and effectively identify how a tutee learns best. Having recently left education myself, I can sympathise with those currently part of it. This, I believe, is a huge advantage - as one recently taught, I know what is an effective, modern way of teaching. Above all, I simply enjoy the rewards of good tutoring: watching a tutee grow and thrive. In few other professions is such a reward possible, and this, ultimately, is why I am so dedicated to spending every second required to make your tutoring a success.

Personal Description:
I am 30 years old and have been teaching maths now for 10 years. I have a lot of experience and many qualifications that illustrate my professionalism. I studied a Masters Degree in Aerospace Engineering and achieved a first class (1:1) and distinction. My A levels were Maths, Physics, and Chemistry. I also trained to be a commercial airline pilot, which i have been doing for 6 years now. I am managing director at a tuition company, specialising in state of the art online tuition and exam preparation techniques, amongst other things.

Teaching Experience:

My 10 year tutoring experience is vast, ranging form tutoring at seminar level at university, to private home tuition for KS3, GCSE, and A Level. I have also set up tuition programmes at state schools in London. I have a specialist area of tuition, namely exam preparation.

Tutoring Approach:

Many people can attempt to teach maths, however it takes a certain type of person to communicate maths effectively. Over the years, i have collected information and experienced the fact that students need to learn more applied maths techniques for exams. Its simply not good enough to just learn how to solve and equation, or do some long multiplication. The mindset and understanding of problems in context are key to success, and this is what i teach. Circa 200 students have passed through my professional tuition service, and I could count on one hand the amount that didn't achieve a C grade or higher. Most achieve B or higher.

Personal Description:
I'm 17 years old and am a current student of the Sixth Form at St Bartholomew's School. The four subjects I'm currently taking are Maths, German, History and Politics. In my AS levels I received an A in all three subjects I took, including in Maths. I am a big sports fan and am known to often watch football games at Hungerford Town and Reading. I can also be found at most Wales international home matches. I have experience in volunteering as a befriender for the Alzheimer's Society.

Teaching Experience:

I have a Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership, a course which I undertook alongside GCSEs, where I coached children in Years 3-6 to play sports. At school, I was a year long mentor for new Year 7s as a Year 9.

Tutoring Approach:

Patience is key. Children and young teenagers, who may find maths difficult, can easily become frustrated. It's up to a tutor to let the child overcome their frustration by enabling them to solve complex problems and to make maths interesting. It's often challenging for children to use up their spare time for extra tutoring, so tutoring must be enjoyable and enlightening in equal measure.
