Personal Description:
I am an energetic and experienced English teacher and Assistant Head who strongly believes in building relationships with students that support their learning. I love travelling, literature (both classic and contemporary) and sports (especially football, rugby and cricket). Whatever level your daughter or son is at, I will make sure they progress to the next stage, whether that is excellent GCSE results, A Level results or entry to University.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently Assistant Head Teacher at Stoke College, near Sudbury, and have been teaching English for ten years. I have long experience in teaching and tutoring for students in Years 7-13, usually teaching AQA English Language and Literature GCSEs and OCR A Level. I have tutored students sitting different exam boards with great success, too. I began my teaching career at The Ashcombe School in Dorking, Surrey, before spending two years at Tiffin Girls' School, then the top ranked state school in the country, as Head of English. I have taught many students through to Oxford and Cambridge University entrance. I have taught Media Studies at A Level and my degree is Joint Honours History with English, so am always on hand to help with History or similar work.

Tutoring Approach:

I can give your child the support they need to build their confidence so they feel more able to complete school tasks, homework, coursework and exam revision. At exam level, I build on school work, revising techniques and consolidating the skills and topics learned so that students can reach their full potential in external exams. At the highest level, I will guide your son or daughter through textual annotations and literary study.

For students in Years 7-9, I have found it is often just as helpful to be able to assist and tutors in your son or daughter's full range of subjects, especially those that rely on written work, such as History, Geography and RE.

I bring an innovative and personalised approach to tutoring so your child never needs to feel that tutoring sessions are an extension of school; instead they are a way to look at English in a positive light so tutees can enjoy learning.

Personal Description:
Currently studying full-time Pure and Applied Mathematics at the University of Aberdeen.

I am a friendly, conscientious individual who cares deeply about young people's personal and academic development.

When not working or studying, I enjoy taking care of my health through the gym and a variety of sports.

Teaching Experience:

I have over 5 years of tutoring experience. I have personally tutored 40+ pupils of varying mathematical ability, which has allowed me to refine and become very confident in my approach.

A large number of my tutees were found through word-of-mouth from former tutees pleased with their results.

I now have quite a few reviews, I have been registered on other websites for years and would be more than happy to supply references from other past tutees for your peace of mind.

Tutoring Approach:

I passionately believe that everyone deserves the best chance at school. However, more and more of my tutees are complaining that their schools are failing to provide that. It seems that due to funding cutbacks/lack of qualified teachers, only the most naturally gifted pupils are given the right attention and everyone else is left at the bottom of the pack.

I have no such prejudice. It does not matter to me if you are a straight A student looking for some insurance, or if you are a bottom set student who has always struggled with maths. All I expect from my tutees is their attention and a willingness to learn. If you care about your education and future prospects, then so do I.

I am available for tutoring throughout the year, even during the summer holidays for 1st/2nd year university resits.

I am available weekday evenings and at the weekend, just let me know which times would suit you. I reply very quickly.

I have a car so travelling to your home is not an issue, however I may require additional fuel money depending on your location.

Personal Description:
I am have graduated with a First Class degree Actuarial Science at London School of Economics.
I have achieved A*A*A*A in my recent A Level results and have also represented my country in various mathematics competition which include me winning an Honourable Mention in Asia Pacific Mathematics Olympiad.
Have also achieved Gold Medal in National Physics Competition in my country.

Teaching Experience:

I have previously volunteered with the Salvation Army and had taught GCSE students over there. Overall it went quite well and I saw improvement in their ability to answer questions and attitude towards the subject.
I have also been an assistant Mathematics Olympiad coach. This job required me to lecture some of the best students in Malaysia so that they can score well in national competitions.
Thus, I believe I am able to teach students of different abilities.

Tutoring Approach:

I usually start with the basics. I believe that with a good basic, the student would then be able to improve him/herself to be better instead of just idly solving a question and showing the steps to the student.
Also, I would try to include real life application if its possible so that the student remain interested and understand more about the things being studied.

Personal Description:
* Taught English GCSE for over 16 years

* GCSE examiner

Teaching Experience:

I have taught English at KS3, 4 and 5 for over 15 years. I am experienced at preparing students for SATS exams, GCSE and A level. Additionally I have helped adults to improve their reading and writing skills from helping them to update their CV to sitting an exam. I am also an examiner for AQA and OCR. I currently teach GCSE English and Functional English to KS4 students.

Tutoring Approach:

When we meet I will initially assess your child's needs and set out clear targets for us to focus on. I will offer lots of guidance and coaching in your child's areas of weakness. Your child's progress is reviewed at the end of each term and new targets are set as appropriate. I provide an overview for parents of what each session covered and I also set weekly homework. Experience has shown that private tuition works best with the support of your child's class teacher. Therefore I like to liaise with your child's teacher to see how I can support what is happening at school.

Personal Description:
Hello, I am in my forties and I live in Worthing. I specialise in teaching English as a foreign language. I welcome teaching both individuals and small groups with everyday, educational or business English.

I enjoy travelling, meeting new people and learning about other countries. I have just returned from teaching English in Japan for four years, which I loved.

I also have experience working in both education and business in the UK. I was a primary school teacher for eight years and worked in insurance for 11 years.

Teaching Experience:

-I taught Keys Stage 1 and 2 for eight years in an East London primary school. The majority of which did not speak English regularly at home.
-I carried out training on technical insurance issues as part of my job with the insurance company.
-I taught English in two of Japan's well known English conversation schools (ECC and AEON). I worked with students ages ranging from 18 months to 70+ at all levels from beginner to advanced. I also did some work in a few Japanese kindergartens and some summer relief work in a local Worthing language school (CES).

Tutoring Approach:

I like lessons to be fun and the students to feel relaxed. The needs of the students comes first as everyone is different.

After an initial assessment ,I agree with the tutee a lesson progress plan. The lessons will have a clear goal and will relate to real life wherever possible.

Please note that all lessons with children should be at their home with a responsible adult present or available.

Personal Description:
Teaching .. my true vocation in life. If someone was to ask me what is the best thing that I can do with my life, I would answer without any doubt "Teaching". I love teaching and learning at the same time, in fact, I usually say that I cannot remember a day in my life without studying or learning something new.

I consider myself reliable, methodical, punctual with friendly manners and empathic.

Teaching Experience:

Today I am teaching Spanish at Hinckley & Nuneaton College, collaborating with Sidney Stringer Academy (GCSE) and I have recently completed my Diploma in Education and Training at the University of Warwick, which has allowed me to apply for QTLs.

I have enjoyed teaching Spanish to people of all ages, the youngest being just 4 years old and the oldest being over 70. I teach all levels, from complete beginners, young learners, GCSE, A' Level or degree level as well as adults wishing to learn a few phrases for holidays or business trips, or people who plan to live in Spain.

I have a large experience in several Public High Schools in Spain and in private education as well.

I taught in an Adult Education Public Centre where I prepared the access exam to University (Literacy, Maths and Science).

In addition, I taught several modules of programming: J2EE, PHP, C++ POO, C, PL/SQL, MySQL and Oracle DDBB. I developed web applications including shopping cards, using Mode-View-Controller architecture pattern, PDO, Sql, Singleton pattern, OOP, CSS, Dreamweaver, Html, XML, Doxygen, UML …etc. I have a Master Degree in Java and I developed websites with Struts, Ibatis, Spring, JSP, JQuery ....

Furthermore, I taught Spanish language to Erasmus Students in my country.

Tutoring Approach:

I make my lessons as interactive and enjoyable as possible using all kind of activities, flashcards, games, music, art and stories. It is amazing how quickly children, teenager and adults pick up the language in a natural way, without stress. I try to teach not only a language but also the Spanish lifestyle, cuisine, customs and culture.

I have had experience working in both the public (5 years) and private sectors (6 years) of education and have taught students of different age groups which has enabled me to develop the skills and abilities required to be able to encourage and promote the students best potential. I am able to set priorities, identify problems and focus my attention and energy on resolving these issues. Most importantly, I like to find new and creative ways of teaching that motivate and encourage the students to learn in an enjoyable and challenging environment.

A good classroom session is never the result of improvisation or chance, so, I have made this my motto "90 percent of transpiration, 10 percent talent" for organizing, planning contents, goals, time, procedures and of course paying special care and attention to diversity in the class, adapting myself to the real needs of the pupils.

Spanish language is a beautiful and useful language because of the growing populations and economies of many Spanish-speaking countries and their growing international tourism as well. I love my mother language and I like to teach it to you. In person, with Skype ...everything is a good idea if you want to learn ... because, where there is a wish there is a way...

My name is Shannon, but you can call me Shan! I am 17 years old and currently taking a gap 5 months from A-levels before going to boarding school in September to restart year 12 in the UK. I have a younger sister whom I have spent many many hours with, helping with 'last-minute' homework and projects.
I live with my Mum, and she works full time so I mainly have a house all to myself, so lots of time to study! Currently, I spend my time doing lots of charity work which I have a passion for.

I have a bubbly and friendly nature, and understand how difficult some subjects can be! Trust me, I have been that one in the class who has no idea if the teacher is even speaking the same language as me!! The good news is, I adapted study skills and learnt amazing ways to revise and ta-da... I did really well in my exams!

Teaching Experience:

I taught English in Cambodia during February of 2015.

Tutoring Approach:

Friendly chat to start with, to see what are the key areas of difficulty are.
Work at students own pace until each topic is grasped!

Personal Description:
My name is Danny and I am a PhD student in the Faculty of Engineering and Environment, Northumbria University. I have been receiving the scholarship from the university to do the research on micro mechanics and novel materials. Using a lot of engineering knowledge, I'm confident in encouraging young people going ahead with STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths).

Teaching Experience:

Going back to the time before my PhD course, being a tutor on Maths and Physics since I was an undergraduate student, I helped many GCSE students (i.e. KS2 and KS3) improve their grades. I'm now revising the combined sciences for some Year 11 students who're taking the exam soon. In addition, I got many experiences in lecturing in the university of Technology and Education (I worked as an assistant lecturer in 2010-2011, right after my graduation, and a lecturer in 2012-2014).

Tutoring Approach:

Various methods can be applied depending on each student, but the general approach is connecting all the lessons on the same topic to a common picture. To do that, I usually explain the relevant concepts visually and link them together. In addition, a variety of examples will be provided to clarify the lessons. Some advanced questions will be supplied to develop their knowledge.

Personal Description:
Hi, my name is Bridie and I would love to be your tutor. I am outgoing, approachable, friendly, flexible, and punctual and have a good sense of humour. I can offer fun and enthusiastic sessions that are tailored to suit your learning needs. I have a first class honours masters degree in chemistry and I am very passionate about science. I can help you to feel comfortable with difficult topics and build up your confidence to answer those longer questions you would often panic about. I want to remove this panic from you onto me and help you with your study skills and most importantly, improve your grade. So please pick me and we can work together for you to achieve your goals.

Teaching Experience:

I am an outstanding practitioner and I have been teaching for 4 years. During this time I have taught A-level chemistry, GCSE science and BTEC applied science level 3. I have taught in secondary schools and colleges where I have run extra sessions during breaks, afterschool and during the holidays. This involves group sessions to tackle difficult topic concepts and 1-to-1 appointments to develop exam technique, giving a clearer picture of individual needs. This has really helped to achieve results. Alongside teaching, I have been a science technician which has enabled me to possess a wider knowledge of the practical activities. A strong practical knowledge is crucial for the new A-level specifications.

Tutoring Approach:

As your tutor I will ensure:
• A calm and supportive environment in which to learn.
• You will feel comfortable with learning
• I am approachable so no need to feel nervous.
• You are not confronted but instead helped to understand the topic.
• High level of respect.
• Strong subject knowledge.
• I give constructive feedback.
• Assess the starting point of your learning using a red, amber, green system of a topic checklist.
• A cooperative approach to learning-we will work together to solve a problem.
• Marking of questions answered with a grade so that you have instant feedback, which is then compared to your target grade.
• I give praise and non-forceful encouragement to build your confidence.
• It is ok to make mistakes, you only learn from them and feel comfortable to question a topic idea.
• You will develop to be in control of your own learning.

I have access to many resources such as full notes, revision notes, revision checklists, video tutorials, good website links, topic-based questions, exam papers with mark schemes and examiners reports, stretch and challenge questions, quizzes and multiple-choice questions. All resources will be suited to your individual needs.

Thank you for reading my information and I hope you will consider me to be your tutor.

I am currently an undergraduate History student at the University of Warwick. I have three years of tutoring experience in History, English and Politics. I achieved straight As and A*s at GCSE and have 3 A*s at A Level in English, History and Politics, as well as a B in Maths and a C in Classics.

Teaching Experience:

Tutor for GCSE students in English, History and Maths throughout my A Level studies and tutoring of A level students during my gap year.

Tutoring Approach:

My lessons are engaging and fun. My first lesson will always focus on establishing the current level of the student and establishing their long term goals. At the end of most weeks homework will be set to reinforce the things we have gone over during the lesson. I largely work from mark schemes and exam practices, as the long term goal of parents and students tends to be centred on exam results, but I also believe in the enjoyment of learning and will always focus on making the subjects I teach come to life.
