Personal Description:
I am a second year undergraduate mathematics student at Imperial college.

I completed my A levels in 2011 with full mark scores in some maths and physics modules and every module at an A grade . I also self studied and sat an additional 6 maths modules and obtained 2 grades in STEP II and III.

I achieved 3 A*s and an A in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computing respectively at A level.
I achieved 5 A*s, 5 As and a B at GCSE.

I have a patient, helpful and calm nature and very easy to approach for any issues. I enjoy helping others and explaining maths topics so that they are easier to understand.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored a construction student at Surrey university so that she could understand the mathematics in her mechanics module this year.

I have helped friends understand complicated maths topics many times in sixth form and university.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach in tutoring starts with establishing goals then creating a structured plan so that these goals can be achieved.

My tutoring will emphasis on understanding the core concepts of the topic, then applying the core knowledge to practical examples, and lastly see how the topic is associated within exam questions.

Personal Description:
Nice to meet you! I'm Rebecca; I'm 27 years old and graduated from Bangor University with a BSc in Psychology with Clinical and Health Psychology. After university I spent a year as a specialist support worker for adults with autism and autistic traits. With my psychology degree and experience I am more than happy to cater for students that might need a bit of extra help, and have experience teaching students with Aspergers, Personality Disorder, and depression.

Following uni, I spent nearly 2 years teaching English as a foreign language in Japan. Whilst in Japan, I also learnt how to speak conversational Japanese, and can also read and write hiragana, katakana, and first-grade level kanji. I now tutor English and Japanese full time, and have registered my own language services company.

To better understand what is needed for GCSE Japanese, I took my GCSE in 2016 achieving an A*, and plan to take N4 in the Japanese Proficiency test next year. I am happy to help students work towards their GCSE or N5 level Japanese, and I am constantly training to improve my students learning experience.

I welcome any students with special needs; I have vast experience in the Psychological field and work well with anyone who needs that little bit of extra help and attention! I also work great with kids who need help boosting their English and Maths at school- in the last year one of my 5-year-old student's grades have gone from below average to excellent in their school report.

I'm currently teaching in the Northamptonshire area, and have a classroom set up in my home where I do most of my teaching from.

Please note: I am currently fully booked every evening, so I can only offer morning/ early afternoon lessons at the moment.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experience includes the 2 years I spent teaching English as a foreign language in Japan, where I designed the yearly teaching schedules, lesson plans, and then taught the lessons. My students were from the age of 3 to 65, so I have experience in teaching all ages. Whilst in Japan I also taught beginner's Japanese to foreigners living in my local area.

Since returning to England in 2013 I've been tutoring English and Japanese full time. I took my GCSE Japanese in 2016 achieving an A*, and plan to take N4 of the Japanese proficiency test next year. I have also been teaching one of my younger students English, Math, and other related subjects required for primary school. I currently have more than 20 students learning Japanese 1-to-1 and relish the challenges and individuality between each new student.

At university I volunteered for several groups including an activity group for disadvantaged children, assisting in secondary school classrooms, volunteering at the local mental health unit and volunteering as a charity shop assistant.

Prior to this, I often tutored my younger sister (who has Asperger's Syndrome) and helped her to understand her school work. I have also clocked up countless hours of babysitting for parents around the local area.

Tutoring Approach:

For teaching English as a foreign language, or when teaching Japanese, I believe a fun, active approach is the most effective. A short amount of time is spent drilling sentences and words; but then these new words and phrases should be used in role plays, games, or challenges to make the new vocabulary stick.

When teaching English, debates about the subject material cause important points to be remembered, help students to structure their arguments more clearly, and let students consider what the most important points are and consider counter arguments. Games for younger children and a variety of different activities to help enforce new vocabulary and sentences are also important.

Personal Description:
Thank you for looking at my profile.

I want to see young people thrive within the learning environment and achieve the best of their ability.

I previously wrote an English curriculum for adults that do not speak English. This was based on interactive and fun learning, to ensure full engagement and for the students to reach maximum potential.

I believe the key to learning and retaining information is for the student to believe in themselves and their knowledge.

PGCE Secondary Drama

QTS

Teaching Experience:

I have a great amount of experience within the educational system. I have worked with a variety of students. Special needs students in both primary and secondary school settings. I have done a vast amount of work with pupils with self-esteem issues and challenging behaviour. In addition, working with gifted and talented students.

I have taught Drama to both GCSE and A-level students, I have supported students through course work and controlled assessment.

Media and English have been taught up to GCSE.

I have worked in various schools in Sheffield and Birmingham.

I am currently teaching English and Drama in a secondary school in Warwickshire.

Tutoring Approach:

To work with the student on identifying the areas in which their are struggling to reach their full potential and why. Whether it is because they are struggling to understand or they lack in confidence in the particular subject. I would then work with the student to build the gaps in their knowledge and build confidence through interactive and individual learning. A combination of both styles of learning secures knowledge and the belief that the student has the knowledge.

The students progression will be monitored through continual assessment.

The student will also be a part of self-assessment to recognise their own needs and development.

Personal Description:
I'm and experienced tutor and teacher. Not just in the academic sense but in the practical sense too. I've worked in business, including six years as European Sales and Marketing Director of Pentax in Brussels and ten years as President of a French IT company. Real practical experience and real experience too in Politics - I was, for example, a candidate at the last General Election! So I can interest and enthuse my students in History, Politics and Business.
I have two sons, one of whom has just completed his GCSE's and moved on to the IB and the other is studying Film at Falmouth University, so I'm very aware of the tough choices and hard work facing students today and I'm there to provide both a strong level of academic support as well as listening and advising them.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring one-to-one for a number of years now for CET and Randstad, both in students homes and in secondary schools. I have also taught History and Politics at Abbey College in Cambridge for two and a half years. Each summer sees me teaching the Oxford Royale Academy 'Business & Enterprise' Course and indeed, I am also responsible for writing and updating the courses myself. I have considerable experience and knowledge of advising students and parents on their way through the UCAS process.

Tutoring Approach:

I seek to establish and identify the individual needs and characteristics of each student. I have a strong belief in the importance of inspiration in tutoring and feel that the role of the tutor is as much about building confidence as it is about reinforcing knowledge.
I tailor work to each student and have a full and comprehensive database of materials and information in all my subjects built up over a number of years and covering all exam boards.

I graduated in Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering and I hold a Master Degree in Telecommunications and Networks. Also, I have Teaching Certificate in Academic Practice awarded by Higher Education Academy.

Being at University raises my awareness of stress that students might feel if not doing well in mathematics. Therefore, teaching gives me a great deal of satisfaction to help students to improve their maths knowledge and progress further.

These include: Engineering Mathematics, Mathematics and Computation, Programming and Design (C, Python), Digital Logic, Digital Signal Processing and Linear & Non-Linear Systems. Personal Description:
I am currently an A level student at The Blue Coat School, where I am deputy head boy, studying A levels in Maths, Biology, Chemistry and History. However, my passion is working with children which I have done through my tutoring work.

Teaching Experience:

I teach weekly lessons to a number of students throughout Liverpool in addition to delivering weekly lessons to year 7 students at Blue Coat. I have also undertaken work experience in several primary schools in the area.

Tutoring Approach:

I firmly believe that anything can be taught. The key to success, in SATs and entrance exams alike, is undoubtably the amount of work put in, contrary to the perception of intelligence being the major factor. The students should be provided with an environment where they can work at their own pace and have every one of their concerns addressed. These conditions are unfortunately unachievable in the majority of schools due to their very nature, but I endevour to create the best possible setting for my students to learn and understand. My primary focus in lessons is to build confidence which is essential to achieving but can only be mastered by self belief. Whatever the ability level of the student, with confidence they can progress and then the sky is the limit, which is a fact that I make all of my students aware of. However, just as importantly, my students enjoy their lessons which is essential in order to develop a lifelong love for learning.
