Personal Description:
I'm a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

I started as a trainee accountant in 1999, working for a variety of businesses and gradually gaining experience and expertise, becoming a member of the ACCA in 2008. In the last few years I have worked as an for the BBC, Lloyds TSB, Bread Youth Project, the Furniture Re-Use Network, Windmill Hill City Farm and Aster Group. Since 2010 I have also been doing freelance work for clients in commerce and the not-for-profit sector.

I have recently started teaching bookkeeping to clients whose duties include recording finance transactions but who do not have formal training in that kind of work.

Teaching Experience:

on and off since October 2010

Tutoring Approach:

Double-entry bookkeeping is a beautiful and robust way of recording financial transactions, but all-too-often it is shrouded in mystery and bristling with incomprehensible jargon. So instead of using double-entry bookkeeping, many people use columns of numbers, either on spreadsheets or in big red books, and risk making mistakes, leaving things out, and losing track of what has been paid for and what is still outstanding.

I can teach you double-entry bookkeeping if you are methodical and willing to learn -- you do not have to be a whizz at finance and you do not have to be fantastically numerate. We will proceed at your pace. Initial sessions will cover the very basics, and we will not need a computer for this, but as you progress you will reach a point at which it would be beneficial to apply your learning directly to the computerised bookkeeping system you are using or going to use in your business; if you do not have real transactions to record ("post"), we can invent some and post them using a practice set of accounts.

Learning happens best in a comfortable and un-hurried environment in which the focus is on acquiring skills and knowledge, and not on getting the accounts sorted out.

If you are interested in learning how to record finance transactions properly, please send me a message telling me a little about yourself, and what you need, and what you know about bookkeeping already (and it's perfectly OK if you don't know anything).

Personal Description:
Master Degree in Applied Mathematics at University of Cambridge (Part III Tripos), focus: Theoretical Physics.

BSc Mathematics and Physics at University College London (UCL). Received 1st-Class Honours over all years.

Graduated 43/45 points in International Baccalaureate (IB) with 7s in (HL) Mathematics, Physics, Economics, (SL) Geography and English. Received 7 A* 1A 1B in IGCSE including above subjects.

4+ years of experience in University/Secondary (especially in A-levels) tutoring. Always highly recognised for excellent teaching and enjoyable lessons!

Teaching Experience:

4+ years of Tutoring experience on IB (International Baccalaureate) and A-level (HL) Mathematics and Physics. Encourage guided training on exercise problems and past papers. Have been highly known for excellent teaching, being clear and rigorous at appropriate levels. All students I've taught have highly positive reviews and enjoyed the lessons thoroughly, while finding themselves coming out with a solid understanding and appreciation of Maths and Physics.

Also I can provide insight if you are thinking of pursuing Mathematics or Physics in University, from "what is maths like in Uni?", to advices in different schools, how to apply and write personal statement, etc.

Tutoring Approach:

Most likely will conduct tutoring in a classroom in University Campus, unless specifically request otherwise. This gives easy access to whiteboard for clearer teaching.

Training in Maths and Physics requires a clear, solid, understanding of the key concepts and rigorous logic. The best approach towards Maths and Physics is to allow tutees to voice any possible doubts towards the subject and then clarify them while making it more solid. After that, consistent practice with real life problems and Past Paper questions, under guidance, will enable tutees to fully achieve their potential, ideally.

Finally, people achieve their best if they find something interesting. All my students so far have always find my teaching fun and enjoyable, making learning much more easy and effective! I believe this is the key to continued learning to maximise one's potentials.

- Interactive approach, clarifying doubts and questions towards subjects
- Able to phrase concepts and theories in clear and fun ways
- Work on past papers questions
- Tips and Advice for exams
- Solid training preparing skills that applies to any subject

TESTIMONIALS

"Over the past 3 years, I`ve had Italian lessons with a number of Italian teachers. Craig has by far been the most effective. He was quickly able to identify specific approaches to learning that would work for me and most importantly, keep me enthused! I am impressed by his preparation he doesn`t just bring the same text book to each lesson and set gap-filling exercises like previous teachers I`ve had - each lesson is carefully tailored to the subject in a way that makes the lesson interactive and memorable. Although I may know what the agenda for the lesson is, how he chooses to run the lesson is always a surprise. One subject leads on to the next as I progress but within each new topic, he skilfully and patiently recaps over previous topics to make sure I don`t forget what we`ve already touched on, which I really appreciate. Homework is set each week and because he makes it interesting, I look forward to the challenge of completing it. My ability to discuss, negotiate, tell stories fluently in Italian has really come on since working with Craig and my grasp of Italian grammar continues to improve thanks to his clear and concise explanations." Su, Walderslade

"Craig has been teaching me Spanish for nearly a year. One-on-one home tutoring enables me to fit lessons around my busy work and family life.
As a mature student I really appreciate Craig`s structured approach to language teaching tailored to my own specific learning pace" Neil, Lordswood

"I have been furthering my French with Craig for some time. He is very encouraging and likes to push you out of your comfort zone at times - which is a good thing as it gives confidence. Craig always makes learning fun and we can be discussing anything from the state of the country to man-eating spiders! He uses a variety of media and tailors lessons to your own requirements/needs or if there is something in particular you have a problem with he finds a way to explain it clearly." - Sharon, Chatham

"Craig is very professional, patient and understanding, I am an absolute beginner in French and after a couple of weeks of tutoring by Craig, I feel confident enough to ask in French some basic questions. Very big plus for me" Jacqueline, Walderslade

"Craig is friendly , helpful and moves you along at your pace" Martin & Lynda, Hempstead

Teaching Experience:

Experience teaching all ages, both in a school environment and one-to-one private tuition and with years of tutoring experience.

We can cater for beginner level right through to experienced speakers who want to brush up on their skills.

Tutoring Approach:

We teach using a variety of materials depending on level, such as class and activity books, grammar and vocabulary books, videos, Internet and printed exercises.
We do our best to tailor lessons to our student's needs. Most of our students are learning a language for a specific reason, such as for holidays or for exams. We design our lessons according to the reason and aim for learning.

Personal Description:
My name is Jae, an international student at University of Surrey studying Aerospace Engineering. I have also studied at Australian National University for two years. My major at Australian National University was Manufacturing and Management Engineering. Although I am an international student, I have finished my junior and senior secondary education in English spoken country, thus I have good background of using English.

Teaching Experience:

I have no official teaching experiences in the UK. However, I am always willing to help my colleagues if they have any questions or problems regarding their subject as long as it is engineering related materials. On the other hand I was a volunteering Maths, Physics and English tutor in Korea for a year in total.

Tutoring Approach:

It is essential to understand the basic and fundamental concept in every academic subject and practice it. Thus, my approach for tutoring is to express the fundamental base as easy as possible then trying many examples to make a new understanding solid for later application.

Personal Description:
My name is Shadi, I am French native speaker and I live in West London (Barons Court) for 5 years now.
My colleagues say I am a very communicative person, hard worker and perfectionist. I have a cosmopolitan culture which helps me to be open-minded and very approachable by my students. I have worked as a Marketing Manager for over 10 years in Paris but my deep passion has always been teaching languages. I have realised my dream relocating to London.

In addition to French I am also fully fluent in Italian where I have lived and worked for over 3 years. My passion for Italian Culture and Language has no limits.

Moreover I am well organised, punctual reliable and specially enthusiastic with a fun and approachable teaching manner with my students.

Teaching Experience:

I have started to teach to adults in private and corporate trainings for over a year for big companies in the City of London (both Italian and French). Some of my group adult students switched to private lessons and I still teach them all the ways to improve not only their language level but also their knowledge of the culture and the country of the language they learn.

I have travelled a lot for professional and personal purposes and I have a very easy ability to communicate. Even if I have not taught for many years my knowledge and working experience has given me enough confidence to adapt myself very quickly and easily in the languages I know.

I am able to teach French and Italian at all levels.

Tutoring Approach:

I have had the opportunity to teach in London in corporate trainings to adults at a very demanding level. Needs were not the same, some wanted learn for pleasure others wanted to learn for professional purposes in order to catch new opportunities of work.
Feedbacks has demonstrated that I was not only adaptable, but also good listener and approachable. This is how I believe teaching has to focus on.

There are no secrets, enjoy what you do and you will learn it faster is my credo

They will gain confidence as they progress far more this way. I am a good communicator and understand the many problems students face. Towards exam time we will go through all the past papers for that exam to give students extra confidence in exam technique

I have lived in Peterhead my whole life, attending both Clerkhill Primary School and Peterhead Academy. I have then spent the following 5 years at the University of Aberdeen Studying a range of biology and chemistry courses. I also have a current PVG disclosure Scotland certificate available upon request.

Teaching Experience:

During the final year of my undergraduate degree (2013-2014) I enrolled on the BP tutoring scheme which firstly entailed a short teacher training course before I was assigned a placement at Turriff Academy, Aberdeenshire. With the support of the classroom teacher, I was involved in the designing, delivery and evaluation of teaching materials for classes ranging from S1 to S6 in subjects such as general science, biology and chemistry. This experience greatly improved my communication skills as well as enhanced my ability to think on my feet as many of the classes I instructed were allocated to me at short notice with little time to prepare.

Personal Description:
I have many years of tutoring behind me and am currently studying for the Diploma in English Teaching to Adults.

I'm widely travelled and have spent many years living abroad. This has contributed to a high degree of fluency in Spanish and French. I acquire languages easily, being open to the cultures in which I find myself.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught exclusively in continental countries. One year in Finland, six years in Spain and two in Germany. In all cases the teaching took place in private schools or in company offices. Much of the teaching was 1 to 1, the rest being in small groups.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that language acquisition takes place when the learner is relaxed and so my approach may be considered informal. The choice of materials is a joint decision. Good classes can take place with or without them.

I also favour a communicative approach, which entails giving a needs analysis to all my learners.

Moreover between the years 1996 and 1999, in addition to teaching Mathematics in a private school (located in Bandar Mah-shahr), I was employed as a Technical (Mechanical) inspector in B.I.P.C.(Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex) which also enabled me to achieve a BEng. in Chemical Engineering (Petrochemical Industry) in 1999. After returning to the U.K. And becoming a qualified teacher (DTLLS), I specialised further into Pure Mathematics and gained a BSc(hons) in Pure Mathematics in 2007 and an MSc in Pure Mathematics in 2015 as a distance learner with the Open University in Milton Keynes.

Personal Description:
I am a first year medical student at Glasgow university with experience in tutoring children and young adults. Due to the fact I have just finished my high school exams, achieving very good grades, the course content and exam structures are still fresh in my mind which is what makes me a good choice of tutor for anyone studying the new Curriculum for Excellence Scottish courses. I am a very friendly and approachable person and genuinely enjoy tutoring.

Teaching Experience:

I have au paired for the last two summers in Spain, giving daily language, maths and science tutoring lessons to children from the ages of four to sixteen. In addition to this last year I self taught my self two SQA advanced highers - Spanish and chemistry - and achieved the necessary grades to study medicine.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is the same method I use everyday when studying for my degree. I find that fully grasping concepts and ideas by discussing them and looking at relevant examples, instead of just monotonously writing down notes is the most successful way to learn which also prepares you well for exams and sets you up nicely for a higher level of study in the future. This is followed up by then applying this knowledge by practicing exam questions which helps build confidence in one's ability.
