Personal Description:
I am an inspiring, self-motivating and dynamic teacher with extensive experience in teaching at the UK academies, selective schools and a number of top boarding schools. As a result, I have acquired specialized knowledge of UK and Chinese educational systems and a flexible approach to teaching which is most relevant to the demands of the post.

Similarly, my strong academic record indicates that I am well-qualified for the job. In particular, I am currently studying Mandarin Chinese PGCE course at Institute of Education, which leads the UK for education training. The course has provided me with in-depth methodology skills, highly suited to the UK framework for teaching Mandarin Chinese. As part of this training, I have undergone intense observations across a wide range of school placements. This has provided me with practical experience of developing schemes of work in line with the National Curriculum of Mandarin Chinese.

Furthermore, during my school placements training, I have found this experience immensely rewarding and have developed an approach to teaching which aims to challenge and engage young minds. I have developed skills in teaching critical thinking and learnt how to nurture innovation and original thought. I instill high expectations in pupils and encourage self-efficacy as a tool for enabling achievement. Similarly, given the academic criteria of my school placements, I am expected to teach from basic to Oxbridge level. I have also developed insight into the value of inspiring pupils' intrinsic motivation and meta-knowledge. This involves emphasizing the importance of knowing individual strengths in order to capitalize on them and individual difficulties so as to identify enabling strategies. In addition, by fostering these facets of self-awareness, I find that pupils are often able to self-regulate aspects of their learning to excellent effect.

I will bring energy and enthusiasm to the school's extra-curricular activities. For example, I could offer Movie Clubs screening Chinese movies and Culture Clubs sharing Chinese Calligraphy and Tea Ceremonies. I am particularly skilled at cooking traditional Chinese food, which could be integrated into the school's Mandarin days and Festival celebrations. I am interested in Chinese music, singing and drama. I believe that integrating singing and drama into the Mandarin department would be a motivating tool for developing oral skills in the target language.

Finally, I believe teaching is one of the few vocations in life that can make a significant difference to people's lives, enabling children and young people to build a promising future. I also find teaching to be a very rewarding career, I am particularly happy and proud each time my students make progress in their study or advocate positive behavior. I also enjoy the challenge of teaching and developing new ways to make my lessons interesting and stimulating to a wide range of students.

Teaching Experience:

I have intensive teaching English and Mandarin Chinese experience in both top China secondary schools and UK academies and selective schools.

Tutoring Approach:

I will be teaching according to the students' age and different learning styles accordingly.

Personal Description:
I obtained First Class Honours for my LL.B (Hons) and have qualified as a barrister after completing the bar course (obtaining a Very Competent grade). I have recently completed an LL.M in International Law obtaining a Distinction overall and in each constituent element of the course. I am working as a tutor pending the start of the pupillage stage of my training in 2016.

I started my legal training as a mature student after many years in finance and have good, practical business experience.

I am able to tutor in most humanities subjects but in particular, History, English and Law. I have successfully tutored in the past both mature students and those for whom English is not their first language.

Teaching Experience:

In my previous career I was frequently responsible for the training and development of new school leavers.

As a mature student at university I mentored and helped my peers to understand the subjects being taught.

I have been tutoring for over a year with typically excellent results for my students.

I have tutored students of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.

Tutoring Approach:

I am seeking to work as a tutor as I prefer the more intense and tailored approach which can be taken with individual students or small groups of students.

My approach is tailored to the individual student's needs. Whether the student is seeking support for short term projects or throughout the academic year I am able to quickly build a good working relationship which facilitates tutoring and enables the student to derive the best results from our sessions.

I believe in building a good, solid basis of knowledge and understanding on which the student can develop their own thoughts and theories enabling a full, in-depth understanding of the subject.

Personal Description:
Having completed my legal qualification, I am now self-employed as an IT consultant and business owner with a bit of spare time in which I teach. I have previous teaching experience not only on a one-to-one basis but also in the classroom environment.
Having attended private primary and secondary schools with exceptional teaching standards throughout, I have gained a lot of valuable experience and understanding in how educators can take their students the extra mile to ensure that not only do they get the best grades but also to ensure that students get the best from their education in order to assist them later in life, whether that be at university or in their careers.

Teaching Experience:

Having taught in both classroom and one-on-one based environments, I have a broad range of skills and expertise when it comes to actually laying out the knowledge. Private tutoring has been something I have always done on the side and having taught in such environments for over four years, I have significant experience in teaching and learning styles which can assist students on a multitude of levels.
I have taught students from Year 9 to Year 13 and beyond, the main subjects taught being Maths, English, Sciences, Law, Business Studies and Information Technology.
University Level can also be catered for, subjects such as Law, Business Studies and IT/Computing.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to give students a relaxed environment in which they can learn and enjoy. Furthermore, I believe working outside of lessons is also a key part to learning and developing one's knowledge hence my use of short yet effective homework exercises which not only prepare students for the next session but also help reinforce what they have already learnt. Using these techniques, I am able to better assist the student(s) on where they may need some more assistance. Of course, every student is different and learning techniques always need to be worked upon in order to ensure that students get the most out of their sessions with me.

Personal Description:
A resident of Edinburgh for the past twelve years I enjoy meeting new people and learning new things myself. I am fairly well travelled, enjoy the arts and have a passion for working alongside others to help them achieve their goals.

I am a professional actor with degree level qualifications in both Philosophy (Dundee University) and Acting (Queen Margaret University College).

Teaching Experience:

I have worked with adults in improving spoken and written English for UK degree entry level. I have also worked with college and university students in the Middle East (UAE) to train science and drama education in both Arabic and English.

For several years I have visited schools in both the public and private sectors delivering reading, drama and science communication classes.

I have regularly taught 5-15 years drama in private classes and enjoy working with pre-drama school entrants of all ages in working on giving the best entrance audition possible.

Tutoring Approach:

I am confident at creating a structured approach that works with a pupil's own strengths and needs to provide a tailor-made package for learning.

Ideally I meet with each student to discuss their learning needs, current level and expected outcomes.

Although it is important to push the boundaries of learning, it should always be a workload that is both manageable and individually tailored.

People learn best when they are enjoying themselves, so I try my best to make learning fun and interactive.

Personal Description:
I am a 32 year old native German, moved to Northumberland in 2012 to live here with my family and our little dachshund. After my A-Level (including German and English) I have made an apprenticeship as a Travel Agent, as travelling is one of my passions. The last 4 years before moving here I have been working as a Sales and Marketing Manager in the music industry, as music is another passion of mine. So when I moved here, I started giving guitar lessons and German lessons and I really enjoy both. I love to teach my language to people and have experience in teaching both children and adults.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently teaching private students one-to-one, beginning from 6 years up to 60 years old. Some of them are beginners, others prepare for their GCSE or A-Level. I have been assisting in schools from nursery to A-Level and know the curriculum.

Tutoring Approach:

My lessons are tailored to your needs and full of fun. I am very patient and encouraging as I know how hard the German language can appear. - Teacher of Drama and English, September 1998 - August 1999

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is characterised by the following commitments I make to every learner I have the privilege of working with:

- I will place all learners firmly at the centre of the learning experience
- I will lead all learners towards understanding how they learn best and be mindful that academic success is underpinned by aspiration, healthy levels of self-belief, stress management, courage, organisational ability, resilience, creativity and motivation. And that's to name but a few!
- I will hold the highest expectations of all learners and craft memorable learning activities that will encourage a love of learning
- I understand that behind every set of examination results, irrespective of the scores, must stand a person who is equipped, personally, socially and culturally, to prosper in the 21st Century. For this reason, academic tutoring/coaching will always focus on personal as well as academic development.

The Study Skills coaching I offer can help resolve a wide range of common issues that can be barriers to effective learning. If you answer 'yes' to one or more of the following questions, study skills coaching could well be an investment that brings real value to your child and their future:

- Is your child's effort beginning to slip?
- Do behavioural issues exist in the school setting?
- Is your child frequently getting detentions for forgetting homework or being late?
- Do school reports show a dip in academic attainment?
- Does your child struggle to contribute to classroom activities, for example, answering questions or speaking publicly?
- Does your child give up too easily?
- Would your child benefit from improved social skills?
- Does your child become anxious around examination periods?
- Does your child require increased focus and attention prior to key examinations, e.g. entrance examinations, Year 6 standardised attainment tests and GCSE exams?

Flexible, personalised programmes can commence at any point during the year.

The first session is essential for the success of the programme going forward. In this session, we evaluate current learning strengths and weaknesses in the individual student. In order to get a full picture of the student's learning priorities, we undertake the following activities to determine areas for improvement and the best conditions for success:

- reflections from the student on how they feel about their learning experience
- a learning survey - it's good fun and gives the child/student a really useful exercise in self-reflection
- analysis of recent written reports which contain teacher comments and grades recording attainment, effort, attitude to learning, punctuality, etc. School reports can vary in format so it may be that not all this detail is available
- we ask that a parent/teacher is involved for the duration of this first session to provide their own reflections on the learning profile of the child
- completion of a personalised learning contract whereby the child/student, parent/teacher and coach agree on the required conditions needed for the child/student to be successful during the programme.

Personal Description:
I am Portuguese (although I am proficient in English) and have been living in the UK since 2010, where I have developed my career as a Languages and Education consultant.
I have an enthusiastic approach to teaching as I feel the best way to teach is to adapt to the students' needs and skills and whenever possible will adjust my resources to better suit the pace of the student.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching 1-2-1 since 2006 mostly in languages (Portuguese and EFL) but also Social Sciences, as I have a Master degree in Psychology. When relocating to the UK I completed a level 5 course on TEFL as well as other training courses to better equip me to provide better academic support to students from GCSE to University level. I also have experience teaching groups up to 15 students and regularly promote courses run by my local council to adult learners.

Tutoring Approach:

I have an enthusiastic approach to teaching as I feel the best way to teach is to adapt to the students' needs and skills and whenever possible will adjust my resources to better suit the pace of the student.

Personal Description:
Hello everyone! /Bonjour à tous !
My name is Sarah, I am an enthusiastic, patient and diplomatic young French native. I am willing to teach and help anyone with the beautiful French language.
What else about me? I am a music lover and enjoy going to gigs as much as I can, with a preference for the band Coldplay… I love long walks in nature (preferably with a cute dog by my side), and discovering new places.

I am currently unemployed and would relish the opportunity to gain experience in tutoring. I would love the opportunity to share my French skills with anyone needing help or willing to learn.

Teaching Experience:

I may not have the past of teaching but I firmly believe that my abilities are matching the role of Tutor. I am able to adapt to very different situations, and also well organised. Three years spent in the UK and translating articles from English to French for ColdplayCorner.com made me confident with the English language.
I proved my abilities with children by working temporarily in a primary school in France in 2012 and 2013. I was in charge of the supervision at lunch time and sometimes break time with kids from age 3 to 6.
I, later on in 2013, moved to London to learn English and the perks of the British culture. I was working as an Au-Pair/Nanny for 3 children (aged 7 to 12 when I started) in Camden from September 2013 to September 2016. I loved my job and being close to the children every day, the best positive experience of my life so far!

Tutoring Approach:

The idea of tutoring has held much fascination for me ever since I have a keen love for education and loved all my school years. I am convinced I have what it takes to develop and implement tutoring plans that best fit each individual student I could have. I could use my personal skills to always stay calm and positive with the students. I can work comfortably with people from diverse backgrounds and can exhibit patience and judgement, especially where the need for both is dire.
For example, for anyone who wants to learn a bit of French, I would start with the basics and go more and more deeply in the language. I can make the lesson enjoyable by talking about one the favourite subject of the student. In my opinion, this is a good way of teaching and learning a language as it encourages interaction and communication. I can also do basic lessons and help students with their homework.
