Personal Description:
My name is Lisa, I have a passion for the Martial Arts and love nothing more than teaching others. I have trained in Karate and Kickboxing prior to Taekwondo which has been my life for the past 18 years. I hope to be able to pass on my experience and knowledge to others. I have a venue available in Keighley and Bingley for private tutoring.

Teaching Experience:

4th Dan Black Belt in the Martial Art of Taekwondo with over 15 years experience of teaching. I hold the 3rd Class Foreign Instructors qualification from completing my training at the World Taekwondo Headquarters in Seoul, South Korea.

I have additional qualifications in the fitness industry where I formally worked as a Gym Manager.

I offer private 1-1 tuition in self-defence and Taekwondo; I also teach Martial Arts to young people as part of West Yorkshire Police's Safer Schools initiative and have experience of teaching women's groups, young people in community organisations and individuals.

Tutoring Approach:

I am keen to be able to help others and pass on my knowledge and experience. I will teach you basic techniques to keep you safe & which work. Be aware that some instructors may show you fancy techniques but these aren't realistic in a dangerous situation, the key is to make you feel more confident, more aware and feel able to deal with a situation effectively should one arise. The basic techniques are the ones you can learn and master and which will hopefully keep you safe. It's not about strength but about technique and being knowledgeable in a situation.

Personal Description:
I've been living in England for over 15 years, most of them in a tranquil town of Bradford on Avon. I'm a keen reader and chair a reading group. I have two extremely bright and boisterous boys, both of them completely bilingual, talking, reading and writing in both languages from an early age. I find that teaching comes very natural to me however I use all the latest techniques recommended by teaching authorities.

Teaching Experience:

For the last three years I've been contracted to teach Russian Language for MoD, which means that sometimes I can be extremely busy but most of the time I still have sessions available.
I am working towards teaching qualification (Cert Ed leading to Diploma in Education)

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in using different ways of teaching and learning approaches (VAK). I recognize the necessity of inclusion, equality and diversity, to approach the learners differently according to their needs. During my PTLLS course I learnt how to plan my lessons using scheme of work and lesson plan. Writing lesson plan was particularly useful as it helped me to break it down into parts in order to monitor progress and plan the lesson better time-wise I also like to use different resources, including e-learning as well as textbooks, spreadsheets and printouts. I make sure that my lessons are interesting and relevant.
As a part of a course, I teach Russian Grammar and we do plenty of dialogues, free writing, read Russian literature and poetry, listen and watch Russian news.

Personal Description:
I've just finished a position as a researcher in pure maths at Lancaster University, and will be based in Bellshill, near Glasgow, and available to tutor in the area between mid-March and September, when I'll move to Clermont-Ferrand in France to start a new research position. Before Lancaster, I completed a doctorate in mathematics at Oxford.

Teaching Experience:

I have extensive experience tutoring Mathematics at the Standard Grade, Higher and Advanced Higher levels (Scottish equivalent of GCSE and A-level), and at AS and A-level. I have also been a teaching assistant and college tutor for several undergraduate Mathematics courses, across a number of topics in algebra and analysis and at all levels, at Oxford. In addition to this teaching experience, I have also assisted in giving undergraduate admissions interviews in Mathematics at Oriel College, Oxford, and so would be able to help students wishing to apply to Oxford in the nature and content of undergraduate maths interviews.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach in tutoring is oriented around the student: their expectations, background knowledge and way of thinking; and what they see as most important to focus on, be it a particular part of mathematics, or a certain type of problem. While it is useful and necessary for students to be familiar with certain recipes and templates for solving different types of problems, ideally, the aim is to give them a deeper understanding of the ideas behind the material they learn and the problems they are set. This provides a much firmer basis for an appreciation of mathematics and a greater problem solving ability.

Personal Description:
My name is Umayr. I teach Chemistry, Biology and Maths up to A-Level standard. I also teach GCSE Physics and English Language. In addition to this, I can also teach both numeracy and literacy at primary school level. I am married and I am possibly looking to do PGCE to go into teaching in a school/college later on. I have moved recently to Bradford from London and am new to the area. I have my own transport to travel to any potential tutees.

Teaching Experience:

I have around 10 months of self-employed tutoring experience. I did tutor a fellow class student in A-level maths for a short period of time to improve his understanding of maths, especially pure maths. I also taught chemistry to university students in a university in Poland and was able to help about 70% to 80% of the whole year of first year medical students pass this subject. I provided them out of hours classes to help with certain difficult provided and even provided my own version of written revision notes to help prepare for the exam.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to help the student understand the topic by giving examples and showing solutions with in-depth explanations in simple terms so that the student can understand. I even give the student example questions to try out to make sure they understand the methods or factual knowledge. I believe that a student can only be fully prepared for an exam by attempting past exam papers.

Personal Description:
I am a native Arabic speaker from Jordan. I have a PhD in Arabic Language and Literature and three years of experience in teaching Arabic as an additional language. I teach Modern Standard Arabic, old Classical Arabic ( Quranic Arabic) and spoken Arabic ( Levantine and Gulf).

Teaching Experience:

Three years of experience in teaching Arabic as an additional language

Tutoring Approach:

As a teacher of Arabic language, I believed once in the 'myth' which says Arabic is a difficult language to learn. However, after more than two years of experience in teaching, I am confident that Arabic is easier than many languages including English. This belief has rooted through experience in teaching Arabic to students from beginners to advanced levels. Arabic is a very mathematical language. It depends on logic in all its aspects. It has rigid writing and pronunciation systems.

Personal Description:
Passionate about teaching and a native Chinese speaker, I`m also qualified with the Certificate of Proficiency in Putonghua (mandarin) by the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority.
