Personal Description:
I'm an Associate of the Higher Education Academy and a Fellow of the Institute for Learning. I work as an A-level tutor, examiner and AQA adviser to schools. I have a PhD in Biochemistry and have published several scientific research papers.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching and tutoring A-level chemistry for 11 years. I specialise in the AQA exam board and work as an examiner and adviser to schools. I have also been teaching online for 5 years using the EvoTuition tutoring platform and have new digital teaching resources for 2017. I previously taught at Durham University and received the Durham University Teaching and Learning Award in 2011. I now tutor exclusively for AQA due to my work for this exam board (since 2013 I no longer offer tuition for OCR, Edexcel or CIE boards).

Over the years I have tutored hundreds of A-level chemistry students. My lessons are based around developing exam technique as well as improving understanding. Last year, I produced a full set of new teaching resources and practise questions for the new AQA specification, which I share with all my students (the new specification started in September 2015). I am happy to offer a free 30 minute trial lesson and answer any questions.

Tutoring Approach:

Personal Description:
am an experienced A Level teacher and examiner for Economics. I currently teach both Economics and Business Studies to A Level and have helped in excess of 150 students achieve an A or an A*. The majority of the students that I work with will increase their grades by at least 1 whole grade.

I am one of London`s leading exam technique experts and regularly deliver exam focused workshops focusing on improving the analytical and evaluative skills that students so often lack and don`t focus on.

I can support you with carefully structured private lessons and guide you with the knowledge that I have gained as examiner for several of the main exam boards for both Business Studies and Economics.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently tutoring GCSE and A Level Economics and Business Studies (AQA and Edexcel for both Economics and Business). I mark exam papers for Economics and Business studies so can easily tailor your specific tutoring requirements to the exam requirements.

Tutoring Approach:

I will carrry out an inital assessment with you to ascertain where you struggle most of all, following this inital assessment we will set a plan to follow, setting target grades and regular assessment for you to complete. I will ensure that your lessons are fun and interactive but with the main aim of improving your target grade. I will ensure that the lessons are fun, interactive but most important of all ensure that you improve your understanding and therefore your final grade.

Personal Description:
I'm an extremely strong mathematician, scoring top grades through school (including scoring 300/300 in my AS Level Further Maths), and went on to a heavily maths-based degree in Civil Engineering with Management. I'm a GCSE Maths Examiner, so I know exactly what is required to get your target grade.

Aside from teaching Maths, I've had a wide range of experiences - I've helped set up an community project in my friend's village in Tanzania and have taught some of our sponsored students out there.

I've just moved back to Exmouth from London so I have lots of availability for tutoring as I fill my books back up!

Teaching Experience:

* Teaching and working with young people as a volunteer or professionally since 2004.

* Qualified as a Maths teacher in 2006, and taught in numerous secondary schools, ranging from very challenging schools through to a high performing grammar school and a private school (including teaching IGCSE as well as normal GCSE).

* Have taught the full ability range from low ability Year 7 through to A Level Further Maths.

* GCSE Maths Examiner since March 2012. Primary School SATS Marker since 2016.

* Tutoring 9-18 year olds since April 2012.

Tutoring Approach:

I'm keen to help pupils understand how maths works, and not simply learn a standard set of instructions to follow to reach the "right" answer.

With the new changes to Maths GCSE, having a good understanding is more important than ever - students simply cannot get by on rote-learning the method alone any more. Students need to be able to explain their answer clearly, and I make sure I incorporate this into my lessons.

Of course, approach will vary substantially depending on the student.

Students who are very close to their exams will need more focus on how to get the best result.

With younger students there will be more opportunity to focus on their understanding, and exploring how Maths works. I try to avoid simply teaching "How To Get The Right Answer To This Particular Type Of Exam Question", which might get them through tests in the short term, but is rather less helpful to them in the long term.

As a tutor I'd be choosing the most appropriate approach for the student.

Although I specialise in Maths, I am more than comfortable with science, and can also help students up to secondary school level in this subject. I will also do English with Maths at primary level.

GROUP DISCOUNTS:
* 5 discount per student if working in a pair.
* 10 discount per student in groups of 3 or more.

Personal Description:
I studied mathematics at Hull University and have since worked as a fully qualified teacher of mathematics. I have experience of teaching mathematics in six different schools. I have regularly received the highest grade of 'outstanding' for my lessons which have been observed by senior teachers throughout my career. I have also achieved very impressive results with my year eleven GCSE classes over the course of my career. I currently work at a school which has been graded as 'outstanding' in all areas by Ofsted. I have additional responsibility for the standard of teaching and learning across the mathematics faculty. I have been on many different training courses which have been based on how maths can be made far easier for students. I have also marked GCSE examination papers so have very good knowledge and understanding of how students can gain and lose marks. Outside of my main job, I have consistently helped tutees of all ages and abilities achieve their desired qualification at the grade they wanted (please just ask for references). I have also coached youth football teams of various ages.

I am very positive, fast-paced and extremely encouraging. I always aim to build confidence and boost mathematical ability both to as great an extent as possible. Being enormously driven and competitive, I will always take pride in my tutees and the impressive results they get. I have very useful resources including new IT based resources as well as past exam papers. I always do an initial assessment after which I produce a schedule of topics in order to maximise how effective my tutoring sessions are. I always mark any work my tutees do, giving detailed feedback on how to score full marks in exams. My rate is 65 for a one hour session or 100 for a two hour session. Personal Description:
I am a Spanish enthusiast. I lived and worked in Madrid, Spain and am able to enthuse and inform my pupils with regards to living in Spain, the Spanish people, what it's like to work in Spain and hope that my pupils go away from my lessons with a sense of the character of Spain.

I am Married, a Mother with 2 children (15 and 18), and have my own recruitment business. I also tutor because I enjoy passing on my knowledge and experience and gain satisfaction from seeing pupils progress.

Teaching Experience:

I am not a 'qualified' teacher but one through experience. I have qualifications as a Secretarial Linguist. I am a fluent Spanish speaker and my lessons have quite a strong discussion element to them. I have taught adults and GCSE students over the past 20 years, and my successes have been many, but particularly bringing GCSE students successfully through their revision stage and adults gaining more confidence in their spoken Spanish.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is a combination of fun and work. I expect commitment from my students, but also I like to pass on my enthusiasm for Spain and hope that my lessons are enjoyable, not just a hard slog! We speak in Spanish for the majority of the lesson, and I encourage students to 'immerse' themselves into Spain i.e. we have access these days to Spanish radio, Spanish TV. There is absolutely no reason not to use these to the full. I encourage socialising between students where possible also, i.e. Tapas visit/evening or introducing my Spanish friends to them so that they can practise their language skills.

"He teaches in a way which makes us learn and remember. He makes us write down his hip-hop "chemical raps" in the back of our books,"

"You were my inspiration as a PGCE student!! All the very best in your retirement!"
"He managed to get me a B grade at A level which I doubted was anywhere near possible....
He is highly knowledgeable, patient and most of all able to make science both fun and accessible. Making the concepts come alive made learning more fun but they also stuck around long enough in my grey matter for me to make the grade; far exceeding my expectations! I still remember the physical representation of entropy as he leapt from bench to floor! Immense! HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND I AM NOT EASILY IMPRESSED!!!"

Teaching Experience:

Ex-Head of Science and Head of Chemistry from a top Bedfordshire Upper School. A highly experienced school chemistry teacher with over 30 years of experience in schools in UK, Australia and in one-to one private tuition. I offer online or face to face lessons at home.

Tutoring Approach:

Teaching and learning are complex processes whose success relies on a trusting relationship between student and teacher. Initially, I will question, listen, challenge and probe to discover a student depth of knowledge, ability to think scientifically and their aspirations. This will enable me to identify areas of weakness and work at developing confidence in expressing ideas orally and in writing. Finally, practising exam questions will help develop in-depth understanding and skills of problem solving and analysis.

Personal Description:
It is my aim to get my students the best possible mark, and that is First Class degree at BSc or MSc level and A* at the A-Level. But I do require your commitment and willingness to help yourself so that we can achieve this goal together.

Feedback:

I hold one of the highest feedbacks in private tutoring in my field.

Recent results:

University: Top results, as you can see from the feedback. One of my students has created history by being the youngest to achieve a First Class Honours degree in Economics, at the age of 19.

A-level: I prepare a select few students every year and have produced quality results. A student of mine got 100% in Unit 3 Economics.

Qualifications: Having received A*s in A-level, First Class Honours (distinction) at the University level and qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (ICAS), I specialise in Finance, Accounting, Business and Economics subjects.

Teaching Experience:

Experience:
I have taught a variety of students ranging from O-level to Masters/MBA level now over the last few years. My feedback speaks for itself. My students have obtained outstanding results at the degree level, and those at A-level have gone on to universities such as Cambridge, Oxford, LSE, UCL, Imperial, in some cases with full scholarship.

Oxbridge:
Having studied at University of Cambridge myself, I have the right skill set to guide you to Oxbridge. But I would require your commitment and persistence in that, as it is an incredibly competitive process.

Tutoring Approach:

Over time, I have developed various teaching techniques through experience and knowledge, given each student in unique. I prefer to set the objectives first with the time scale available, and then work towards meeting those objectives. Whether you require concepts clarification with respect to assignments or exams, I tailor my approach accordingly.

I have a precise approach which is very relevant to the way concepts and examination works. Obviously, examiners are looking for different things at the A- Level as compared to degree level and my practical approach is tailored according to the content and syllabus, therefore maximising the output from the time I spend with my students.

P.S. To tutor at home, I need to factor in the travel cost and time, so charge rate will be slightly more depending on the post code.

Every student is unique with their own background, so I ensure lessons are tailor-made to suit individual goals and interests of my students as well as their level of Russian. I enjoy teaching in small groups as well as one to one. I aim to speak Russian with my students from the first lesson and help them build up their confidence communicating in a foreign language. I mix up the lessons with a variety of tasks to cover listening, speaking, reading and sometimes writing skills.

Before our course starts I usually discuss the student's aims and agree what will be covered in lessons. Based on the individual information I will plan each lesson so that it is structured - but still flexible.

Lessons can take place at my home, your home or your office.

So,
 if you want to learn Russian for business or private purposes,
 start from the beginning or advance your linguistic skills,
 need help with GCSE or A-level exam preparation,
 you are an individual or group,

I will be glad to help.
