Personal Description:
Personal Description:

I am a dedicated and experienced Maths and Science tutor.(GCSE and A Level Maths plus GCSE and A Level Sciences). I focus on each individual that I teach with the view of enabling each of them to achieve their full potential and to remove any barrier to progress. I work hard to keep up to date with ever-changing specifications and expectations of public exams and to collect or prepare resources that match them accurately. I am positive in my approach to life and people, which allows me to create an enthusing learning environment for individual students and for groups. I show empathy and understanding when students struggle with the contents but I have also high expectations and I aim to support them to develop resilience and a strong work ethos.

Teaching Experience:

Teaching Experience:
I have taught in educational establishments for many years and I have been a tutor for the last four years. My lecturing experiences include the University of Southbank, where I prepared students to start their Degree courses and sixth form colleges like BSix, in Hackney, where I taught A levels in Science and Maths. I also taught in schools both in UK and abroad. My teaching experience have given me a good understanding of the British curriculum, including success criteria for public examinations. As a tutor, I have been committed and determined in ensuring the best possible outcomes for those I teach. As a result of my passion and effort, I have seen many of my students building up their confidence and achieve good or excellent grades in their exams.

Tutoring Approach:

Tutoring Approach:
Before each session, I work hard to prepare the appropriate resources for the student that I will teach. These include exam questions, practice exercises, revision notes, videos and presentations. When approaching the individual student, I always try to diagnose what barriers are preventing him from improving further and I make sure that the student understands what they need to do and how to do it. Feedback on exam questions is an important part of my tutoring: I want students to reflect on their level of understanding and on their exam strategies. In revising concepts, I explore my student's knowledge and address any gap or misconceptions that they may have built up in their previous study. Students find my sessions enjoyable and helpful

Personal Description:
I'm an experienced stage and television actor with a degree in English (2.i) from Trinity Hall, Cambridge and a 2-year post-grad qualification from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. I live in central London (Westminster) and enjoy balancing out the right brain activities of acting with the rather more left brain activities of teaching - especially Latin, which I studied through A-Level to degree, taking a Latin translation and literary criticism paper in Part 1 of my Cambridge Tripos.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught both privately and at a range of different schools and colleges for many years. My private client base has principally been in teaching Latin for Common Entrance and GCSE. In terms of classroom experience, I have worked as a supply Latin teacher at Eaton House Schools and as an A-Level English Tutor at Collingham Tutors. The majority of my work is as a private tutor travelling to people's homes and offering additional support to 10-16 year olds who are struggling with their Latin. I have a huge success rate in terms of results, regularly turning C-grade students into A-graders.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is both pragmatic and personal. Every child is different and therefore every child requires a subtly different approach. In terms of teaching English Literature my principle objective is to inspire. In terms of teaching Latin my key concerns are rigour and attention to detail. With the right approach it is often very easy to turn a child who hates Latin at school into one that (even if it is secretly) both loves it and does very well.

Personal Description:
Hello!
I am a 51-year-old woman, native speaker from Germany. I love the theater and worked as an actress, author, and director. I also worked as a secretary and was responsible for the complete correspondence. The work with and via the German language is so exciting and leads you to a completely new world that I would love to share this experience with people that want to learn German.

Teaching Experience:

I am not a teacher in the classic sense but as a native speaker with a lot of experiences in teaching theater items I am able to help you practicing your new language - no matter if you need it for school, your job or just for fun!

Tutoring Approach:

It is my firm conviction you never learn better, quicker and more sustainable than in simply practicing a language.
Of course, it might be necessary to build a base first - that depends on your individual knowledge.
But no matter if you are a beginner or if you do already speak German - soon we will reach a level where we will talk only in German.
We won't learn vocabularies and grammar stubbornly by the book but we will practice the new language right from the beginning on everyday items.

I am no teacher in the classic sense - but I am a native speaker and I can help you with learning and practicing the German language.

So do not hesitate - just do it!

Personal Description:
Having grown up in an Anglo Italian family in both England and Italy, I am totally bilingual and I have a passion for language teaching in all its aspects.

Teaching Experience:

II have taught both English and Italian language for many years and in all kinds of situations.

- I have taught all ages: from children to senior citizens.

- all levels, from elementary to advanced

- from individuals to university courses of over 100 students

- in a variety of professional contexts for companies

- in my home and in cafes to create an authentic environments.

I love seeing my clients make progress.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in putting students at ease and fostering a positive emotional environment within which the students can learn by doing. Believing there is no greater incentive than success I always adopt a positive approach to teaching.

Although grammar is fundamental to any language, I prefer to teach students collocations (groups of words that commonly go together) than dry grammar rules. I leads to people speaking more instinctively and spending less time worrying about the correctness of what they are saying.

Building confidence in the learner and helping them realise that they can transfer natural communication skills from their first language to their second language is key to their success.

Personal Description:
I am a university student who has been studying martial arts since I was six years old, and have studied multiple systems and styles. I grew up in south-east London and have (sadly) had to apply what I train in and teach a few times. I am energetic and enthusiastic person, and very happy to work with anyone and everyone. I am in good physical shape, and charge exceptionally reasonable rates for the level of experience I have.

Teaching Experience:

I have been working as an assistant instructor at my home dojo for many years, teaching all levels of experience and all ages. I have taken on multiple private students in the past, and can provide complementary training for those already practicing, and complete ground-up tuition for those who are looking to start.

Tutoring Approach:

I use an individual approach, and can teach entirely to the students needs due to not dealing with lots of students at the same time. Alongside traditional training systems, I use modern conditioning exercises and training tools. I can be very flexible in my schedule, and teach both during the day and in the evenings. I generally use simple, flexible lesson plans, and can deal with personal training requirements very easily, due to having helped with students with special needs before.

Personal Description:
Hello, I am a person that gets along with everyone and am quite easy going. I am friendly and bubbly and I like to make teaching fun and interesting for everyone.
I have a BSc in Marine Biology and a Masters' degree also in Marine Biology.
I love teaching and helping people who need some extra input or guidance with their studies, this is something I do naturally.
I currently work as a Science support assistant at Dartmouth Academy and help students all through secondary from year 7 to 11.
My previous profession was Marine Biology, I studied in Portugal, Spain and Wales. I lived in Portugal for 10 years and speak, read and write Portuguese fluently. I am also half Spanish and lived in the Canary islands for 6 months.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experience is quite varied. I first started tutoring as a Secondary (yrs10,11 and 12) English tutor in Portugal. My first job after completing my BSc degree was to be the principal marine biologist at a whaling museum where I gave lectures to children (ages 6 to 16) about the ocean and marine wildlife. I then decided to take my Masters' degree and moved to Wales. After that, I decided to become a teacher and get teaching experience in a school. I have been working at Dartmouth Academy from September 2016 to present and I support students and help the science teachers with lesson planning and small recap exercises. Additionally, I have substituted some science lessons and am now working towards becoming a Science teacher.
So far, I am enjoying the experience very much and am also getting very positive feedback from all my students. I have been told that I am nice and that I explain things very well.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to be a support to the tutee. I am quite flexible and can arrange to meet with you where most convenient, being your house or a library or other public space.
I work together with the tutee and create a tutoring plan. I will sit down with you in our first session and make a 3 to 4 session plan to got though the subject chosen for tutoring. We will decided which sections of your work you are most and least confident with and work through them in a logical order. I will ask you to bring all your learning materials and will look through what you have already covered and what you still need to cover. I will then ask you which areas you would mostly like to address and start from then.
After covering the work I will give you some past paper questions to do and we can then see how you get on and what else may need to be worked on.
Your tutor sessions with me are for your benefit and so I will listen to you requests and needs and work with you to achieve the highest level of learning to your abilities initially and then push you a little to see how well you can perform.
