Testimonials
"Thank you for your help over the past few weeks with my remaining assignments, I now feel a lot more confident about writing essays and reports and I am on track for a 2:1 with the results I have received recently.

I think your teaching methods are very good, particularly as from past experience, other tutors tend to just write comments on your work on how to improve it, but this isn't enough if you want to really understand your work, which is particularly vital for a final year student (like me) who will be sitting exams in May.

However, by using a mixture of Skype and written feedback sessions, I have been able to not only achieve good grades but also build upon each assignment in preparation for the next.

As well as this, you have completely calmed my nerves about my work, particularly during the quality assignment that you helped me with back in January!

I would highly recommend you to anyone who may be in need of a tutor...

Thanks again!"
(Ms Liv, Dated 26/04/2014)

"He listens well and always put a positive spin on things. Before I met him I was very stressed with the amount of work, he was very reassuring which gave me a confidence boast."
(Tutee Ms M, 24/03/2013)

"he is not only a good teacher, but he was also a good friend" (Tutee: Mr. M, 23/03/2012)

"Actually, I'm writing to you to thank you first about the effort that you did with me in preparing for the exam for MIS. I got 60 in the exam. So, that's why I would like to continue work with you in preparing for other exam this term"
(Tutee Ms D, 18/02/2011)

Trained as an architect,I moved swiftly into the world of film and commercials as a set designer, starting at the BBC and moving into the freelance world working on a variety of projects as a Set Designer and Stylist.Drawing and image making has always been central to my art and design .
In film I collaborated with a variety of creatives including directors ,lighting, costume, makeup, special effects designers, which is enriching and inspirational. Then I began to paint for other designers on their projects and my artwork became a larger part of my work.
Now I work mainly from my studio in Wimbledon on commissions ( including painting ) for films & interiors, portrait commissions and my own personal projects in between tutoring.Drawing, painting, photoshop, collage, photography and model making are used in many of my projects.

I am a student at Queen Margaret University, studying Speech and Language Therapy. I was born and raised in Greece, where I completed my first degree in Communication and Mass Media. I also have an HND in Healthcare and an HNC in Web Design and the CPE (Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English). I am enthusiastic about teaching, passing my knowledge onto people who are willing and/or in need of learning.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring Greek and Ancient Greek as a part-time job back home since 2008. I have been engaged in preparing high school students for their national finals with quite satisfying results. Tutoring Approach:

I believe that tutoring a person creates a special bond with them, based mainly on trust. I adapt my tutoring techniques to fit each individual's needs. I use movies, poetry and literature for people who don't want to be bothered with textbooks. I feel that learning should be an ongoing and personalised process.

Personal Description:
I have a First Class BA (Hons) Degree in Creative Arts, comprising Textile Design and Fine Art, from Bath Spa University, and a Masters Degree in Fashion and Textiles Design from the same university. After completing my degree as a mature student in 2006 I worked as a Textile Designer for a year before setting up a luxury lingerie business, which I closed in 2010 due to the financial situation. However, this experience taught me a great deal about setting up a business and manufacturing a product. Since then I have been self employed as a practising artist/designer and sell my work both online and through exhibitions and fairs.

Teaching Experience:

I spent school holidays working with disadvantaged youngsters on playgroups in Salford, Manchester. After leaving school I spent a year as a Community Service Volunteer in a school for blind children in Newcastle upon Tyne. This involved working with children from the age of three to eleven. I have also helped children with their reading skills at my local primary school when my own children were young. During my degree I mentored students, and completed a work placement at a sixth form college in Birmingham where I tutored students in drawing skills.

Tutoring Approach:

I want to support each individual to realise their potential to the best of their abilities. I aim to help students develop their confidence and creativity using sketchbook work, research and critical analysis, and can assist students with portfolio presentation and with report and essay writing. I have an extensive background in fashion, textiles and painting, with specific knowledge of dye processes, surface design, free embroidery, drawing, Adobe Photoshop and painting, and enjoy helping students progress and excel in these areas.

Personal Description:
I am an enthusiastic and friendly individual with a passion for learning. I studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University and subsequently completed an MSc in the History and Philosophy of Science at the London School of Economics. I am fascinated by the natural world and by scientific enquiry. When I'm not teaching or learning I enjoy foreign cinema, playing tennis, and strumming the guitar.

Teaching Experience:

After completing undergraduate degree, I worked as a full-time teacher at d'Overbroeck's Sixth Form College, Oxford. During this four-year period, I taught A-level Philosophy, Sociology and Religious Studies (all AQA examining board). More recently, I have worked as a teaching assistant at Canterbury High School, focussing on struggling students and helping them achieve their potential. Concurrently, I have also worked as a private tutor teaching GCSE Maths, Chemistry and Physics as well as 11+ Maths preparation.

Tutoring Approach:

Once I understand exactly what a tutee hopes to achieve (e.g. A* Maths GCSE, or simply understanding algebra) I have three main priorities as a tutor:

i) to identify a students strengths and weaknesses through short tests

ii) to provide a course of study and assessment that will focus on the weaknesses and monitor progress

iii) to give the student belief in themselves and their abilities and to instil a love of learning!
