Personal Description:
I have taught in many capacities as a tutor, classroom teacher, special needs tutor, teacher's assistant and was deputy head of English at an Outstanding South London secondary school. I enjoy working with young people and helping them to achieve. I value enjoyment as top of the list. If you enjoy lessons you enjoy learning but I also value making what you learn of a high quality. I think you must have pride and hard work to get the most out of whatever you learn and with those ingredients I believe anyone can do anything.

Teaching Experience:

3 years as a teaching assistant and special needs worker at a variety of schools. Achieved outstanding results with ADHD, aspergers, dyslexic and autistic pupils.
Personal tutoring for young people in maths, music, English and French.
Trained as a TEFL teacher and 5 years experience working at home and abroad teaching children and adults.
Deputy Head of English at a South London secondary school where I achieved fantastic GCSE results and taught from year 7-13. I wrote and delivered schemes of work on grammar, English Literature (Dickens, Shakespeare etc) and English Language.
I currently deliver drama and English in many settings such as prisons, with refugees, in schools and with theatres.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in building a rapport of achievement and enjoyment with the tutee. Patience and a sense of humour is vital. I would prepare in detail and allow the lesson to be focused and achievable. I have taken on over 12 tutees from this website aged 6-16 and have enjoyed each one. I can provide appropriate references. I set high goals and believe in adapting to the learning styles of the tutees.

Personal Description:
Nick is an Oxford English graduate who has worked as a strategy consultant and set up various businesses as an entrepreneur, including raising $5m in funding as Development Director for a military website in San Francisco, developing a 1m property portfolio in Notting Hill and the Alps and providing financial backing for the first two albums by a singer-songwriter from Brisbane, who has now won record deals with Sony and EMI and released a number one single in Greece. In his spare time, he loves playing golf, skiing and dancing:
- He helped win the southern and national team ballroom dancing championships for Oxford University and won a Half Blue for being on the winning team in the Varsity match.
- He spent four ski seasons in Mribel and Val d'Isre and lived in Lyon, where he learned to speak French fluently with the aid of a French girlfriend.
- He also spent 18 months in Brisbane, where he became a scratch golfer, and now coaches privately and at City Golf in London.

Teaching Experience:

He has had over a hundred clients aged between six and 46 whom he teaches English, French, Maths, essay-writing and information technology. He also coaches various sports to friends and colleagues in his spare time, including golf, sailing, ballroom and Latin dancing.

Tutoring Approach:

Nick is based in London but is happy to teach in person at a mutually convenient location and/or give help and advice over the phone or by email. For example, after his golf lessons, he sends his clients email summaries of the points covered during the lessons. Clients have told him he is very patient, and his lessons have been very helpful.

"Thank you so much for your help! And thank you so much for letting me send you my draft and read over it!! I'm a bit clumsy with my sentences, so you reading it will be a great help!!

"You really have helped me in grasping the concept of this essay question and what to include!"

Personal Description:
I have a passion for languages, and speak French, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian and Beginner's Arabic. (BA in Italian & Spanish, University College London)

Teaching Experience:

I have 5 years experience tutoring Spanish and Italian to students and adults. I adapt each session to the tutees needs so as to fit with the syllabus/exams. I also have experience in teaching children with a range of different learning needs such as dyslexia, autism and ADHD. I can tutor both one-on-one and also in groups of up to 3 people.

Tutoring Approach:

With the exception of grammar explanations, all tutoring will be conducted in the language we are studying. We will be using all types of media: written exercises and activities, songs and films to help improve listening, reading and writing skills. Grammar will be revised every session and homework can be set. Tutoring is always tailored to meet personal requirements (i.e. extra help with written work vs. grammar).

Personal Description:
I graduated with a Masters from the National Film and Television School and an English degree from York University.
I have worked as a writer and a tutor for the past five years now and continue to love helping people gain the confidence needed to fulfil their full potential. I firmly believe that when it comes to exams, success lies in getting back to the original text. If students are able to enjoy the literature and the process, then we will be able to find out the answers that achieve the highest grades.

Teaching Experience:

My experience with tutoring has varied from one to one sessions, to small classes to assisting with written work online.

I specialise in getting students ready for dreaded exams, preparing them with the forensic knowledge of a text that is required to really succeed. This begins long before the revision process, with homework help and extra work. If you 'learn as you go', things will be much easier later on! I really care for the students I have worked with in the past and believe that everyone has it in them to achieve what they desire with regards to their education.

Equally my work in creative writing provides me with an innovative approach to English for younger students, allowing a more stimulating method of teaching.

Tutoring Approach:

As a private tutor I believe it is my responsibility to cater to the specific needs of the pupil.

With the right guidance, supplementary education provides the tools (and qualifications) so that both children and adults may better their prospects, knowledge and cultural appreciation.

Before beginning tuition, I always suggest an introductory session so we can talk over your specific needs and can adapt my teaching style as required.

Hi! I am Ana, a 23 years old Spanish girl currently looking for job in London.

Personal Description:
A highly energetic and enthusiastic individual, specializing in teaching Biology,Chemistry,Physics, Mathematics and IELTs.I am a friendly person and a professional tutor. By qualification, I am a Doctor of Pharmacy and also hold an M Phil degree in Pharmaceutics. i have also got an overall score of 8 bands in IELTs which demonstrates my strong communication skills. My tutoring experience has made me patient and analytical, so, I always adapt the most suitable teaching approach which is individualized based on a student`s personality, mental caliber and his attitude towards learning. In addition to this, I have myself got distinctions throughout my academic career.

What makes me passionate about teaching is the fact that I have always been rejoiced by the thought of making a positive contribution to other people`s lives, and teaching young students, by far, is the most effective way of doing so. I am deeply inspired by my primary school math teacher whose incredible teaching skills transformed me into a bright and hardworking student from a very mediocre and average one. It was the time when I realized that incorporating social skills successfully into the routine methods of teaching can make learning far more interesting and easy.

I customize my teaching style according to the learning needs and mental caliber of the student. Generally, I start a new lesson by giving the student a detailed concept of the scientific topic. Later on, I elaborate the general and specific details of the topic with the help of examples. Afterwards, I put forth similar problems in front of the student to solve by himself, in order to assess his understanding of the topic. I also share with my students all the possible questions and different forms of a question that they might come across in the examination out of a selected topic. Moreover, I also give them examination techniques to solve such problems effectively.

Teaching Experience:

9 years of teaching experience of science subjects(Physics, Chemistry, Biology), English and Math to the students of KS2, KS3, GCSE and A levels.I started my teaching career in 2004 with A-Level and GCSE teaching. In 2008, when I completed my Pharmacy Degree, I joined professional bodies as a teacher. I have also been tutoring IELTs for the last two years.

Tutoring Approach:

I customize my teaching to learning needs and mental caliber of student. Generally, I start a new lesson by giving the student a detailed concept about the scientific topic. Later on, I elaborate the general and specific details of the topic with the help of examples. Afterwards, I put forth similar problems in front of the student to solve by himself, in order to assess his understanding of the topic. Personal Description:
I am a native Italian speaker, confident, enthusiastic and passionate about teaching. I have attended the TT 4 in Preparing to Teach in Lifelong Sector (PTTLS) and the diploma 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce. I also graduated in Arts (Italian Modern Studies) and completed my MA in Italian Language and Literature in 2008 at Pisa University.
By teaching in different countries, environments and working with people of all ages, I have acquired a board experience, which allows me to identify and address learners' needs and plan in order to get the best outcomes for them. Through the way I teach, I hope to show and motivate the students to learn and understand the history and the culture of my country because learning a foreign language is not just imparting rules of grammar.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experiences include working as key worker in the nursery and teaching Italian language for foreign adults and children in London. In Italy, for two years, I worked for an organisation which specialized in helping migrants (aged 17 to 50) to learn the language and as a personal tutor for a secondary school girl with dyslexia. I have also taught a variety of subjects (including Italian language, literature, history and Maths) to Primary, GCSE and A-level students for about 10 years.

Tutoring Approach:

Through my studies and experiences, I acquired a widen knowledge of contemporary teaching methods and approaches which contribute to plan, organise and deliver high standard lessons according to learner's level.
At the beginning, I usually carry out an assessment (oral and written) for ascertaining student's knowledge of the language and learning style. Then, I plan each lesson in advance and according to the student's needs. I always prepare handouts, worksheets or quizzes that help student to memorise the concepts and me to check her/his progress. I like to use different kinds of resources in order to create a more interactive and motivating lesson every time.

Personal Description:
I'm a graduate-entry third year medical student at Imperial College London. I graduated from the University of Sheffield with an upper second class honours degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2012. In between my two degrees I worked as a Medical Assistant in Paediatrics A&E at St George's Hospital, I admire the energy that young people have and found working with children so rewarding. My education and work life has equipped me with solid communication skills, and the ability to work with a vast range of people. Pursuing a path in science has required a lot of motivation, whilst studying for my degrees I consider that my organisational and time-keeping skills have been vital. Despite my background in science I have always maintained a creative side too, and have a keen interest in literature and the arts.

Teaching Experience:

Taking part in numerous voluntary projects has given me a lot of opportunity to teach, both one-to-one and in group scenarios. Whilst volunteering at my local hospital I helped on the children's ward to ensure the patients were not missing out on their education. This included helping children of all ages with their coursework and school syllabus'. I took part in a project based in South Africa teaching at an orphanage, this was a challenge due to the limited resources available, and a language barrier. However, using innovative ways as a team we were able to conduct lessons teaching English, Numeracy and Music that were accessible and enjoyable for the children. During my university career I have completed assignments presenting my own research or ideas to groups of students and tutors, this required explaining concepts in a clear and concise manner. Over the past two years I have tutored several students privately. I have found this experience rewarding and am very proud of their achievements.

Tutoring Approach:

I am always keen to share my enthusiasm in the subject that I am teaching. I am aware of the importance of maintaining a student's interest in the subject. In order to do this, I believe it is vital to assess each student's style and tailor my teaching towards their individual needs. I am very patient, and am happy to explain concepts in numerous different ways to ensure that a student is comfortable. I approach work in a professional manner, and appreciate the importance of time-keeping and dependability.

Personal Description:
I am a secondary school teacher of French & Spanish, currently working and living in London. I am MFL Deputy Coordinator in my current school and am constantly thinking of new and innovative ways to teach languages to young people in an engaging manner. It's quite the challenge!

I am originally from Northern Ireland but live in SW London with my partner. Outside of school, I am a keen football fan, enjoy staying fit through various activities and love listening to any music made between 1965 and 1975!

Teaching Experience:

I have taught English in a Spanish secondary school during my Erasmus year and currently work as an MFL Deputy Coordinator at an 'outstanding' secondary school on the outskirts of west London.

Tutoring Approach:

I will take the same approach to tutoring as I do to my teaching - enthusiastic and well planned lessons that engage the student in the language. Explaining what is required for the exam is far easier when there are high levels of engagement.

Now I live in Manchester since 6 months ago, working as a Spanish teacher in one-on-one private lessons. I lived other 6 months in London a few years ago.

I studied Pharmacy MPharm in Madrid, also I have a Master degree in Nutrition for the promotion of Health and now I am a student again, finishing a BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics online.

As you can see I have a wide qualified background as a student, combining it with teaching different subjects from school and Spanish to adults, which I really enjoy a lot!! I know what the students need and want in this process.

Do not hesitate in contact me. Try the free first lesson!!

Looking forward to meet you.

Laura

Teaching Experience:

I have being teaching for 5 years with very good results.
I adapt the lessons to the preferences and neccesities of the students.

Tutoring Approach:

In my lessons I always use the new technologies, books and online materials to improve quickly your learning in the best and enjoyable way. Spanish is a great language and why not having fun while you study it?! The lessons are always flexible, personalized and focused on your needs, skills and areas of interest. You will always choose if you want to learn more grammar, writing, listening, speaking...etc.

Whatever are your objectives, I will try you to speak as much as possible and I will correct your mistakes. Two of the main points when a language is being studied.
