Personal Description:
I am a passionate teacher born and raised in Spain. I think everyone should be able to develop his/her skills, and this is why I decided to be a teacher. I have been teaching since I started my degree, as I find it really rewarding.

Teaching Experience:

I am a qualified teacher and Spanish native speaker. I love to teach since I started my degree, and I have been doing that since then. I have worked as a Spanish teacher at the University of Oviedo (Spain) and in a High School in Spain as well.

At the same time, I helped people who could not afford official classes to pass DELE exams with success.
For this reason, I adapt every lesson to the needs of my students.

No matter if you need Spanish for children, beginner, intermediate, advanced, day-to-day conversational Spanish, etc. I can help you.

Tutoring Approach:

I use a wide range of different materials to help my students to approach to Spanish, since there is not only one way to speak it. I also prepare complete courses depending on your needs, I work with small groups or one to one, and I provide all the materials with no extra cost.

Your level will be assessed free of charge on the first session, so we can start at the most suitable point.

Personal Description:
I have been a teacher for over ten years and have gained excellent results with students achieving 100% A*-C at GCSE and 88% A*-B. I have also attained 100% A*-C in my A-Level, teaching both Edexcel Philosophy of Religion and the AQA Philosophy Course.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught in top Grammar schools for both boys and girls and in good comprehensive schools with students of a range of abilities. I have also taught special needs students who struggle to comprehend difficult concepts and have pushed high flying academics to attain the highest marks.

For the past seven years I have also taught adults at the Institute of Education 'How to teach Philosophy'.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to first identify what needs to be learned and to agree this with the student. Once this is agreed I will then form a flexible timetable for the student and to identify what we can work on lesson by lesson. I think it is important for a tutor to be open to any needs that arise during the lessons and although I think smart targets are vital, I also feel the tutor should adapt their lessons to suit the pupil.

Personal Description:
I've just finished a position as a researcher in pure maths at Lancaster University, and will be based in Bellshill, near Glasgow, and available to tutor in the area between mid-March and September, when I'll move to Clermont-Ferrand in France to start a new research position. Before Lancaster, I completed a doctorate in mathematics at Oxford.

Teaching Experience:

I have extensive experience tutoring Mathematics at the Standard Grade, Higher and Advanced Higher levels (Scottish equivalent of GCSE and A-level), and at AS and A-level. I have also been a teaching assistant and college tutor for several undergraduate Mathematics courses, across a number of topics in algebra and analysis and at all levels, at Oxford. In addition to this teaching experience, I have also assisted in giving undergraduate admissions interviews in Mathematics at Oriel College, Oxford, and so would be able to help students wishing to apply to Oxford in the nature and content of undergraduate maths interviews.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach in tutoring is oriented around the student: their expectations, background knowledge and way of thinking; and what they see as most important to focus on, be it a particular part of mathematics, or a certain type of problem. While it is useful and necessary for students to be familiar with certain recipes and templates for solving different types of problems, ideally, the aim is to give them a deeper understanding of the ideas behind the material they learn and the problems they are set. This provides a much firmer basis for an appreciation of mathematics and a greater problem solving ability.

Personal Description:
I am studying Computer Systems Engineering at City, University of London, meaning that I study engineering mathematics every day.. Having achieved over 80% in my first year at university encourages me to carry on a high standard of achievements in my academic journey and then professional career.

Studying Mathematics at University has allowed me to master diverse areas of mathematics from Calculus to Linear Algebra. I am confident I can inspire tutee`s to enhance their problem-solving skills and understanding of mathematical terms.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like some general advice.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring for two years and have help students from most academic levels, from foundation university to KS3.

I am currently involved in a volunteering program where I teach secondary school students.

Having experience in helping students from different academic levels I am confident that I can push my tutees to perform to the best of their abilities.

Tutoring Approach:

I start by explaining the meaning of mathematical functions or just give a summary of how this can be understood by relating it to daily life or through the use of logic. If they manage to understand, I will go through multiple examples with them. Finally, I will leave some questions for them to do and as they work I request that they tell me every step they make and the reasoning behind it.

I also offer a past paper session, which includes me and the tutee solving a paper together that will help him advance his exam skills and improve their confidence.

Note: I might request to see the tutee`s syllabus and lecture notes as this will help me be in sync with the teacher/lecturer. From this, I am able to thoroughly prepare my sessions, and straight away start to build tutee confidence by helping them become knowledgeable in areas they were once weakest in.

Teaching Experience:

I taught MA students philosophy of science at the University of Lancaster and, from 2004 to 2012, I taught at the United Arab Emirates University, specialising in the philosophy of mind and the philosophy of science, winning a prize for educational videos and podcasts. Since 1990, I have also published many articles and reviews for Nature, The New Scientist, Science Spectrum and The Times Higher Educational Supplement and National Review. I am the author of The Myth of the Closed Mind: Explaining Why and How People are Rational.

Tutoring Approach:

My approcah to teaching is best summed up as student-problem-based learning, in which the student attempts to solve problems that they have identified as of stimulating interest to themselves and relevant to their intended qualifications. I believe that all learning starts with the student's own first rudimentary explorations of an issue. I act as a conversational and critical guide through this journey, providing reading material, questions, and formal techniques of citation.

My YouTube channel, currently with 38,000 view, is available for my students to consult.

Typically, a student will select an issue/question in philosophy, we will discuss it one-to-one, and then the student will produce a short essay on the issue, which we will critically discuss in the following session.

I am also available for one-on-one study days (consisting of 6 hours each) for 160.

Personal Description:
I am a native Greek speaker, having been born and raised in Greece. I had an inclination and passion towards foreign languages from a young age, which resulted into my learning English and French as a primary and secondary school student and Japanese and a little Korean as a high school and university student. I have a BA in English Language and Literature from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece and I am currently studying for my MSc in Comparative Literature at the University of Edinburgh. I also hold several foreign language certificates.

Teaching Experience:

I have previously worked as a tutor of English as a Foreign Language (EFL), teaching mostly primary and secondary school children as well as preparing adults for English language exams and certificates. I have also taught Greek to foreigners and elementary Japanese.

Tutoring Approach:

I always tailor my lessons according to my students' needs, strengths and weaknesses. I like using textbooks as a base for my teaching but multimedia and extra material is an integral part of my lessons, since they not only enhance the learning experience but they also keep the learners' interest intact and help them attain some original contact with their target language.
