Personal Description:
I have a degree in Modern Languages and Literature with QTS and a post-degree Diploma in Teaching Foreign languages and a Masters in Sciences of Education - Educacional ICT.

Teaching Experience:

I have 14 years experience of teaching MFL at high school level and also to adults.
I teach Spanish, Portuguese, French and Latin. I taught at the University of California Santa Barbara as a Lecturer before I moved to UK, where my husband is from. I also worked for the Extremadura Government in Spain as a teacher and as a translator. I am now teaching in London, Spanish, French and Portuguese syllabuses and I have been involved in intensive exam preparation for students of GCSE and A levels. I also revise plans and advise PGCE students in Spanish and Portuguese.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to think of myself as a highly motivated and dedicated teacher of MFL that fosters high student self-expectation. This can be done by building commitment to quality education and developing strong bonds with students, parents and Faculty. For example, I believe in employing a variety of classroom techniques to raise achievement: I have recently developed a bank of resources for Spanish and French teaching to accommodate different learning styles. Aside from good teaching, assessing students' progress is important. For example target setting and monitoring is an important method in ensuring that students reach their potential. Finally, create motivating learning environments that capture the imagination of the students, using for example students performance charts with points to show each student's progress in each field and this can be used to monitor a student's acquisition of the target language.

Personal Description:
I am have graduated with a First Class degree Actuarial Science at London School of Economics.
I have achieved A*A*A*A in my recent A Level results and have also represented my country in various mathematics competition which include me winning an Honourable Mention in Asia Pacific Mathematics Olympiad.
Have also achieved Gold Medal in National Physics Competition in my country.

Teaching Experience:

I have previously volunteered with the Salvation Army and had taught GCSE students over there. Overall it went quite well and I saw improvement in their ability to answer questions and attitude towards the subject.
I have also been an assistant Mathematics Olympiad coach. This job required me to lecture some of the best students in Malaysia so that they can score well in national competitions.
Thus, I believe I am able to teach students of different abilities.

Tutoring Approach:

I usually start with the basics. I believe that with a good basic, the student would then be able to improve him/herself to be better instead of just idly solving a question and showing the steps to the student.
Also, I would try to include real life application if its possible so that the student remain interested and understand more about the things being studied.

Teaching Experience:

Personal Description:
FIRST LESSON FREE - This is an opportunity for me to assess your level and expectations and for you to decide if you are happy with me and my teaching methods.

As a speaker of four languages I know what it feels like to be a student as well as a teacher, so I like to ensure my lessons are not boring but also not just fun and no learning development happens.

I have a purpose designed classroom in my house, with whiteboards etc and a wealth of teaching material, a real teaching environment encourages good learning.

Teaching Experience:

2001-2005 Qualified as a Mandarin teacher at the Taipei Langauge Insitute and taught people from the UK, USA, Japan and numerous other countries.

2006-date Having moved to the UK I have taught at BBC Worldwide, London Conversation Piece, Basingstoke Queen Mary College, as well as numerous one to one classes for adults and children of all levels from holiday conversations, academic like GCSE & A Levels and professional usage such as legal, museums etc.

In August 2015 I travelled to Beijing to undertake further teacher training at the Beijing Language & Culture University, as I feel it is important to not become complacent and look to learn new methods and techniques.

Tutoring Approach:

Every student is different so whilst my all classes cover the basics, they all are developed to personally meet your requirements and expectations.
I use various teaching methods, such as role play, newspapers, television episodes, even a trip to Chinese restaurant as well as a variety of text books and mock tests.
I will explain the grammar and how culture effects the language.
I speak with the standard correct Chinese pronunciation and use both simplified and traditional characters and even classical.

Personal Description:
Hello! My name is Eva, and I would describe myself as a very warm, friendly, straight forward and patient person, with excellent communication skills. I have an incredibly strong academic record (A-Levels: English Literature-A*, Drama-A*and French-A) and a genuine love for reading, theatre, and music. I feel passionate about bringing success and confidence to those I teach, and I aim to inspire my pupils to have a real interest for the subject!

Teaching Experience:

I have regularly helped younger siblings with English homework, and given them the confidence to become braver and more vocal in the classroom. I am able to clearly explain exam and revision technique - which is often the key to improving grades.
I have previously set up a school drama club, and have led games and prepared lessons for groups of children. I enjoyed the challenge and process of this hugely, and know from verbal feedback that they did too! I hugely value the time I spent with these students and their inquisitive minds. As a result of my commitment to this club I was awarded the school's Eunice Hobbs prize for Initiative.
During my degree I was given the role as music teacher, singing teacher and pianist for one of the productions that was being put on. I enjoyed this hugely, and found the work to be incredibly satisfying. The group was made up of university students who had a huge range of musical abilities, and I feel that I was able to attend to each individual's needs by giving clear explanations and ways to think about music.

Tutoring Approach:

I graduated from Guildhall School of Music & Drama with a First Class Honours Degree, and feel that this is a wonderful foundation for tutoring. I feel passionate about helping pupils with Drama, English, or Music, and believe that I would be able to give excellent tutoring lessons. I feel very confident in one-to-one teaching scenarios, and believe I am sensitive to an individual's needs. I do not believe in "one size fits all", and am a great fan of finding out the right way and approach for everyone. Having rigorously gone through GCSEs, A-Levels and then a degree myself, I know how vital it is to feel confident in your own revision technique. I think it is also important to have a sense of fun when learning - and I believe I can bring this to the lesson!

Personal Description:
I am a voracious reader, and was therefore tempted to choose English as my main subject in university, but eventually decided on French. I studied at Stanford University for four years, including one year through its study abroad programme in Paris. I have also worked many years as a professional musician, touring in the UK, Europe, USA and Mexico.

Teaching Experience:

Now a qualified teacher, having trained at the PGCE programme in Aberystwyth, I have taught in many schools around the Aberystwyth area.

I taught English to high school students for one year in France.
In a night school in Utah (USA) I taught English as a second language to adults.
I have taught music (guitar, ukulele and piano) for nearly 10 years.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in student-centred teaching, so rather than impose strict rules I approach each student as an individual in order to find the best approach for gaining skills and confidence in the subject. Structure is also important, however, and it's important to use exercises and repetition to really come to terms with a subject. Games and songs have their place, too; let's have fun while we're learning!

Personal Description:
I am an enthusiastic, motivated person who works hard each day to share my passions with others. I have experience with working with children of a wide range of ages between 5-18. I have a passion for education, I have just completed my CELTA to pursue my career in teaching English as a foreign language. My additional language abilities consist of up to A Level Spanish, and throughout the past 12 months I have been teaching myself French which I have found very rewarding. My degree in Sociology will allow me to provide excellent sessions in this subject but I also feel confident with English lessons and Spanish.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked in classrooms with children of all ages throughout primary and secondary ages as well as working on a one to one level tutoring younger students whilst I myself was at college. I work outside of school environments in the holidays from university at language schools which once again has been one of the most rewarding experiences i've ever encountered helping students learn English when they don't think they have the ability to. Throughout my CELTA course I have worked with adults who are learning English as a second language and have found it an excellent experience.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to each and every individual student is different. I like to adapt my style of communication and teaching to the student, once I have met them and learnt their interests and dislikes I will taylor myself to their style.

Personal Description:
Hello, learner! My name is Anastasia, I am a native Russian speaker, and I know what's going on in your head right now. You're thinking: I want to learn Russian, but how do I choose the right tutor? Do I even need one?
As a language teacher with 4 years of experience, I can say that a tutor is not necessarily a mandatory link in the chain of learning. However, having an instructor is absolutely vital at the beginning, when you're making your first steps towards proficiency.
As your personal instructor, I'm going to give you an honest feedback on your strengths and weaknesses and design a learning program that fits your needs. My programs include elements of grammar, speaking and pronunciation practice in the proportions that are perfect for your learning style. To see how it works, book a lesson.

Teaching Experience:

I have four years of experience of teaching English and Russian as a foreign language. I have worked as a school teacher, as a university professor, and as a private tutor.
My experience made me realize that one-on-one lessons are the most beneficial for students. Many of my tutees achieved the goals they had in mind when they started learning a foreign language: passed a school exam, passed TOEFL, got a job, went on Work&Travel program, started watching their favorite TV-shows in the original, entered a university abroad.

Tutoring Approach:

I am very flexible about my teaching method. I have a good eye and can identify your strengths and weaknesses in language learning. I can give valuable recommendations on what will work well for you. At the same time, I take into account your preferences and look for compromises in the learning process. If you become my student, you will feel extremely comfortable and cared about.

Personal Description:
I am a highly qualified maths and physics tutor with a keen grasp of the subject knowledge and a thorough understanding of the practice of learning. I am professional in the way I treat my clients and provide an expert tutoring service. My previous experiences allow me to connect with a wide range of pupils, allowing the kind trust required for a positive learning environment.

Teaching Experience:

I qualified as a maths teacher in 2004 and began tutoring in 2006. Since then I have taught students from age 9 to 40, and taught primary level up to first year degree maths and physics. In 2016 I became an examiner for OCR, marking exam papers.

Tutoring Approach:

I mainly seek to fill in the gaps in students' knowledge in the subject, using and teaching, techniques and methods for absorbing subject knowledge, and passing exams.
I build a solid relationship with the pupil and create an atmosphere conducive to learning. I tailor the structure of the lessons to the individual needs of the student both at a long term level and within each lesson. We might work through topics that the student is weak in, or start new topics, review and practice exams, or discus meta-exam technique, as required by the situation. I follow the National Curriculum closely, and make heavy use of specimen and past exam papers for GCSE/A-Level candidates.
