Personal Description:
Fully qualified teacher with 25 years experience of teaching FRENCH, GERMAN & SPANISH to GCSE, AS LEVEL and A LEVEL in schools and colleges. I have also prepared many groups for Cambridge exams in ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE.
I currently teach MODERN LANGUAGES (to A Level) and RELIGIOUS STUDIES (to A Level) in a Sixth Form College.
I teach ADULT LEARNERS too, at all levels, both for GENERAL LANGUAGE and BUSINESS LANGUAGE.
I have prepared hundreds of youngsters over the years for GCSEs and AS/A LEVELS in these subjects and am very familiar with the demands of these courses and exams.

Teaching Experience:

I teach in a Birmingham Sixth Form College where I work as Head of French
I have taught pupils/students in UK schools and Colleges over the last 25 years, specialising particularly in MODERN LANGUAGES at GCSE and AS/A Levels.
My teaching experience has been mainly in UK schools and colleges but has also included 5 years living and teaching in France, Spain and Germany.
I worked at Stafford College of FE for 9 years where I was head of MODERN LANGUAGES
I have been an Examiner for MODERN LANGUAGES at GCSE and A Level with a major Examination Board.

Tutoring Approach:

Professional and friendly approach, looking for real, measurable progress and increased confidence for the learner
Most young learners need a tutor who understands the requirements of the GCSE / AS / A Level exams and can train students in tasks that will prepare them for these
I find that students often need their confidence boosting and many discover that they know more than they realised.
Adults also learn fast and are often surprised to find they are more able than they thought

Personal Description:
I am a qualified teacher of English with many years of study, research and training in some of the world's top universities. My qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in English Literature and the Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) in English, including Media Studies and Drama. My Initial Teacher Training covered all aspects of English and all abilities in the 11-18 age range. My interests, of benefit to many students especially at university level, include Critical Theory, Classical Literature, and African Literature. I have guided many students doing research and proof-read their dissertations. I have also taken the official training for one-to-one tutors rolled out by the government to complement classroom teaching. I also have experience as a GCSE English examiner for Edexcel and gained the status of Senior Examiner serving as Team Leader from the June 2013 exam series.

Teaching Experience:

My first teaching appointment came in 1988 in Cameroon where I taught English and African Literature, becoming an 'A' Level examiner for the Cameroon GCE examination board in 1990. I later took the Initial Teacher Training (ITT) leading to the PGCE, finishing my last year as Education Student of the Year in my university and receiving a national commendation for the quality of my work. I have since taught in different schools in Kent and Medway, preparing students for exams such as Functional Skills, IELTS, GCSE, 'A' Level, IB and AEA. I have also given one-to-one tuition to looked-after teenagers under a government scheme as well as taught in a secure unit for which, in addition to enhanced disclosure CRBs, I was vetted over a six month period. My first long-term (over 3 months) supply position involved teaching GCSE English, 'A' Level English Literature, and the IB. Most of my teaching has been in selective (grammar) schools. I have also given English lessons in my local community as part of an outreach programme organised for speakers of other languages by my church where I teach Bible Studies also.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to establish the needs of the students and carefully review all available assessment records. If the student is preparing for a special exam such as the GCSE, I would start by ensuring that the student is aware of the full requirements of the exam and establish a clear plan to cover these. Alongside any such programme, I believe strongly in incorporating the fundamentals of English grammar which are sometimes overlooked in formal teaching settings. I like to build a good rapport with the student so that they are comfortable revealing possible areas of weakness that we could turn into strengths.

Studied Physics at the University of Southampton, after having studied it along with Maths, Music, Geography and Critical Thinking at A Level. I achieved A grades at A-level in Maths and Physics, and grades A* to A for the same courses at GCSE level. Teaching Experience:

I have tutored students ranging from 15 to 18 years of age in Physics and Maths before.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to have a relaxed style of tutoring. Figure out how you learn best, be it through simply working through the knowledge or imagining it vividly in your mind. We would work through some questions and figure out where areas can be improved and i'll help you improve in those areas and overall. I like to be always contactable, so i can be emailed, texted, called, skyped, facebooked, anything, communication is pretty key. Personal Description:
I recently returned to the UK after a number of years living and teaching in China, and now I wish to use the experience i have gained over the years to help students who need to learn English in the UK.
When i am not working i enjoy travelling and playing sport. In addition to living in China, i have also lived in New Zealand and Australia and travelled extensively in Europe.

Teaching Experience:

I have been an ESL teacher for 8 years. My experience has been gained predominantly in China, though i have taught at a college in the UK. I have taught a variety of nationalities and also all ages and levels. I possess both the CELTA and DELTA teaching practice qualifications. I was also an IELTS speaking and writing test examiner for two years and have passed a Cambridge certified online course in the teaching of IELTS.

Tutoring Approach:

Having lived and worked in China for many years, i am aware of the difficulty of learning a foreign language. However,i believe that with the right attitude, approach and guidance it is possible to achieve your study goals in any language.
I believe in establishing realistic and quantifiable goals when beginning tutoring for progress to be measured against. I also believe that work done in a student's own time is as important as work done in a formal classroom setting. Regular review of what has been studied is also vital.

Personal Description:
I've always been a keen mathematician and in turn have developed a strong understanding of the concepts of physics. I have taken on extra mathematics classes where ever I can, including attending math summer schools and also taking on Further Maths as an extra A-Level, which involved me teaching the course to myself. Applying Maths to Physics has strengthened my understanding Maths greatly.

Alongside tutoring, I am also a musician. I sing, play piano and guitar in a two piece band.

Teaching Experience:

I've experienced teaching a wide age range of individuals, including primary school children when assisting my mother's classes at Taverham Hall Private school. I also attended mathematics summer schools, both as a student completing tasks and presenting the outcomes to peers, and also as an assistant teaching students mathematical methods in preparation for A Level mathematics.

I am also a tutor for London Science Tutors. This is for individuals who studied at either Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, Imperial or LSE to teach a range of sciences and mathematics. I have been teaching mathematics and physics to a range of pupils, starting from 11 to 18.

I have also been conducting Skype tutoring sessions, including preparation for KS3 mathematics exams and also A-level Core 3 & 4 mathematics.

Tutoring Approach:

I am very patient, and having learned firsthand how worried some people can become when they don't understand concepts, I pride myself on being able to make my students feel comfortable. Throughout my bachelor's and master's degrees, I have developed and perfected learning skills in order to understand difficult concepts within both maths and physics. I feel that having had many years of trial and error in order to find out the best ways to learn, I have developed a well-rounded set of skills, both in terms of learning and teaching, which I believe to be effective for tutoring.
