Personal Description:
I am used to teaching students of all ages. I have a first degree in History and English and a masters in Art History. I have been teaching successfully in London and Norfolk for the past 26 years and can honestly say that I have never had a student fail, whether it be for an entrance exam or GCSE, 'A' level or even at University helping with a final dissertation. I enjoy tutoring on a one to one basis and am passionate about my chosen subjects.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught at further education colleges in and around London as well as private schools mainly in English and History for G.C.S.E. and 'A' Level students. I am also an Associate Lecturer for the Open University in the Humanities and have been doing so for 14 years. My main strengths are in private tutoring in which I have been engaged for the past 26 years around London and Norfolk.

Tutoring Approach:

In the case of coursework for GCSE or 'A' level I am happy to have students email their work for me to check over and then have a lesson in person. With regard to working towards examinations, I prefer to use the question papers as the basis for learning as generally each exam board has a preference for the way in which questions are answered especially in the subjects I teach. English and History especially are open to interpretation. I believe the need to read around the subject and offer a wider knowledge than is generally taught at schools or colleges is vital. Regular tuition is therefore preferable, so that all problems can be addressed over a period of time.

Personal Description:
I am a First Class Honours LL.B. graduate. I recently completed my LL.M. in Law at King's College London. I also received The Thomson Reuters Law Prize for Best Undergraduate Law Dissertation and have received many firsts in my law examinations and essays.

I strive to achieve the best possible results I can.

All students have the potential to be the best. It is the teacher who must hone this and let the student shine. Tutoring can make a great difference in a student's grade if it is done correctly. I believe that students need practice, confidence and time to be the best they can.

Teaching Experience:

I have previously had experience being a teaching assistant in English, Maths, History and Biology at a Primary School to Year 1 and 2 students. I held this position for 2 years.

If students in a class of 30 did not understand what a teacher had taught them, I would sit down individually with these students and ensure that they understood what was being taught before giving them a set of tasks to test their knowledge.

I have also proofread and helped students from GCSE level to postgraduate level to understand how they can achieve better grades in coursework components. This is especially true for English and History GCSE to A-Level students and undergraduate Law students.

I can also help Law students use the OSCOLA referencing system and make sure they have used it correctly throughout their work.

This would especially be helpful to students who do not use English as their first language.

I have also been tutored previously during my A Levels and I understand the skills and needs that a good tutor needs in order for a student to achieve their best potential.

I am very happy to help tutees improve their coursework and essays.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe it is imperative that students will come away with new knowledge each tuition session. Due to this, I am always happy to change the structure of my teaching for the benefit of the pupil. I will be prepared for all lessons and will provide homework which will gauge the student's performance.

I will identify any weak areas a student may have and focus on improving these areas. Exam and coursework technique will also be improved along with providing students with good revision habits and tips.

I will seek feedback from students so that I can keep improving my methods and so that they can ultimately benefit academically from this.

Personal Description:
I am a third-year medical student achieving Honours in Years One and Two. I can teach Biology, Chemistry and Maths at all levels up to, and including, GCSE level.
I also have three years experience helping students prepare for 7+, 11+, and 13+ school entrance exams.
I have a 100% success rate with all my students to date.

Teaching Experience:

For the last 3 years, I have tutored many young students for the 7+, 11+, 13+, school entrance exams, as well as students working towards GCSE exams. This experience has allowed me to develop my own tutoring style, and given me a great insight as to the most effective ways of teaching a range of different students.

Tutoring Approach:

My flexible teaching style is based around the specific learning needs of each individual student. My approach, however, is both methodical and systematic as I find this ensures that my student has a comprehensive understanding of each topic so that they can then independently find the answers to any questions without needing input from me. Specific topics will be worked through, worked solutions used then followed up by similar questions to establish that the concept has been fully understood and applied in an examination style format. Each lesson is carefully organised, with clear learning objectives. I am aware that students have pre-existing school and extracurricular workloads, so any homework set will be done with quality of work considered over quantity.
I aim to install enthusiasm and provide clarity while teaching.

Personal Description:
I'm previously a senior manager in a large water company. I've recently taken an opportunity to leave the company and I'm enjoying working with children through the local Kumon franchise. I'm looking to expand my tutoring to 121 coaching

Teaching Experience:

My recent teaching experience is with Kumon. I've also tutored my son through an A* GCSE in 2016.

Prior to that, 25 years ago I was a lecturer at Swindon College in mathematics and from 86-88 I tutored A-level maths to fund my way through University.

Tutoring Approach:

Patience and repetition. It is practice of doing it right that leads to always doing it right and failure to practice and not correcting errors early that leads to errors.

I explain the approach to take (and why), demonstrate the approach and then ask the student to implement, first with support but eventually alone.

Personal Description:
I am a highly motivated, inquisitive and passionate individual. I am currently a volunteer with Girlguiding and an English academic coach within a secondary school. I have also previously trained as a maths and English tutor working with 5-14 year olds through Explore Learning. I have a degree in Media and Communication, gaining at 2:1 degree and therefore this is my specialist area. I have a strong academic background and continue to keep enhancing my knowledge through my professional and personal goals.

Teaching Experience:

My role as an academic coach involves in classroom support and teaching intervention classes with year 9, 10 and 11 students who need additional support in English. My responsibilities include: monitoring pupil progress, running lessons and after school clubs, supporting a cohort of students in class and preparing resources to help students progress and prepare for their GCSE English Language and Literature.

My role with Explore Learning involved working with children aged between 5 and 14 years tutoring them in maths and English. The children worked with myself in small groups where they did an hour of both maths and English study. My responsibilities included writing session notes to allow the parents to get an idea of the child's development, running workshops as well as helping the children to achieve their full potential and socialising with the children at the end of their learning sessions. I also get the opportunity to liaise with parents in order to discuss their child's progress.

Tutoring Approach:

My goal as a tutor is to get students to enjoy the subject in which they are learning. Through an interactive and innovative program of study students will get a better understanding of how best to achieve. I strive to inspire students to achieve their full potential.
