Personal Description:
Angela's career has spanned over twenty years of graphic design and illustration followed by ten years of marketing communications.
She lives in a 17C house in Horsham with a studio in the outbuildings. She studied art foundation and graphic design at Epsom School of Art after which she worked in London Advertising Agencies and Design Studios.

Whilst her children were small she worked as a freelance designer supplemented by the part-time teaching of art in a boys school in Isleworth and as a lecturer of advertising/design at Amersham & Nene Colleges. In 2017 she is tutor for a group of artists in Abruzzo, Italy.
Angela now paints full-time and exhibits in London & the South and recently in Rome & Miami.
She is an Associate member of the Society of Women Artists and a member of the United Society of Artists.

Teaching Experience:

Art teacher at Syon School for boys (part-time) 1974
HNC tutor for Design. Northampton College (part-time) 1990-91
Art summer school for children at my barn studio 1991
HND tutor for Design & Advertising. Amersham College (part-time) 1989-91
Private one-to-one teaching 2009- current
Art week in Spoltore, Abruzzo, Italy 23rd April-30th 2017

Tutoring Approach:

I love to teach people who want to learn. A real joy for me is when people have enthusiasm but probably lack the techniques and the training to product a piece of work that satisfies them. We are all fierce critics of our own outpourings but understanding how to improve is the first step to feeling good about what we do. So many people have said to me that they would like to paint and draw but feel hopelessly inadequate when it comes to actually doing it. I can say that without doubt, all my students at Nene college felt that over the year they had finally produced work they were proud of and were amazed they could do this. I am a strong believer in drawing skills underpinning whatever style of painting is applied and so my starting point is always training to really see the world around us.

Personal Description:
As a faculty head of English and modern languages I have a broad knowledge of texts, and am well qualified to meet the curricular needs of any pupil. I have marked Standard Grade folio and Higher Critical essay for the SQA for many years, and Higher Folio for the last 8 years, so am well versed in expected pupil standards.
I would also like to say, at this point, that the reason I prefer pupils to come to my home is because I do not drive and I have lots of materials at home.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching English at all levels, from 1st-6th years, for 24 years.
I have also been tutoring for 12/13 years and in this years (2016) exams I saw all my tutees pass Higher despite some of them only coming to me after having failed their Prelim. All were ecstatic with their result and phoned to inform, and thank,me. This years results have been astounding as of my 8 tutees, 7 got A passes and one got a B. All came for the majority of the year and none were certainties for an A. Indeed 3 were struggling but worked extremely hard and got well deserved A's.

As well as new pupils for Higher last session I also had several returning pupils,or siblings, from last year as my services as a tutor have been retained to now take them through the transition from N5 to Higher. This has been a trend for me as tutees have always been happy with the lessons and my efforts in making them feel comfortable.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a well experienced tutor on a 1 to 1 and group basis. I have tutored at all Secondary levels and will support, and supplement, the teaching materials already provided by the pupils' schools. I will look over, and grade, work done by pupils in school and that set by me. In general, I will identify a pupils weakest areas and we will work hard on improving on that whilst "fine tuning" other areas.
From the Academic year 2014/15 National 5 and N6 Higher students were catered for and I, myself, teach it to my 4th and 5th year students. This will be a very challenging year for S4 as a lot has to be done in a shorter time as year 4, generally have 1 or 2 less teaching periods than year 5/6 yet they have the same work to cover. In addition they have more exams and work experience to cope with. An early start at this would be advised in order to get into folio as soon as possible.

Personal Description:
Currently studying full-time Pure and Applied Mathematics at the University of Aberdeen.

I am a friendly, conscientious individual who cares deeply about young people's personal and academic development.

When not working or studying, I enjoy taking care of my health through the gym and a variety of sports.

Teaching Experience:

I have over 5 years of tutoring experience. I have personally tutored 40+ pupils of varying mathematical ability, which has allowed me to refine and become very confident in my approach.

A large number of my tutees were found through word-of-mouth from former tutees pleased with their results.

I now have quite a few reviews, I have been registered on other websites for years and would be more than happy to supply references from other past tutees for your peace of mind.

Tutoring Approach:

I passionately believe that everyone deserves the best chance at school. However, more and more of my tutees are complaining that their schools are failing to provide that. It seems that due to funding cutbacks/lack of qualified teachers, only the most naturally gifted pupils are given the right attention and everyone else is left at the bottom of the pack.

I have no such prejudice. It does not matter to me if you are a straight A student looking for some insurance, or if you are a bottom set student who has always struggled with maths. All I expect from my tutees is their attention and a willingness to learn. If you care about your education and future prospects, then so do I.

I am available for tutoring throughout the year, even during the summer holidays for 1st/2nd year university resits.

I am available weekday evenings and at the weekend, just let me know which times would suit you. I reply very quickly.

I have a car so travelling to your home is not an issue, however I may require additional fuel money depending on your location.

Personal Description:
Hi there! My name is Will, and I'm a graduate from the University of Cambridge (Christ's College). I studied Natural Sciences, and graduated with a 2.1 MSci specialising in Physics. I studied Maths, Physics and Chemistry at A-levels, and French at AS.
Maths and Physics can be daunting for many young people, yet I believe that anyone can learn to master these subjects if taught to look at the problems in the right way. All that is required is an underlying interest and an enthusiastic teacher!
I work during the week, but I am free in the evenings as well as all day on the weekends.

I am also open to giving INTERVIEW PRACTICE for anyone thinking of applying to OXBRIDGE or one of the many other institutes that demand an interview. Having been in several interviews myself, I can give advice on how to answer general questions, as well as give example questions from my experiences.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored before in my school; I was part of the Mentoring Society from year 11 onwards, in which I taught younger years (especially those taking their GCSE exams). I have also been a voluntary tutor for The Access Project for the past year, tutoring A-Level Physics.

Tutoring Approach:

I'm a very relaxed person, and so I am open to tutoring in many different ways depending on the personal choice of the tutee. I am willing to explain a particular topic, or go through questions that have been answered before the session. However, I would say that working through past papers is usually the most effective way to practice and also identify the areas in which the tutee is having difficulties. My only request is that I'm told beforehand which area/questions/past paper we should work through, to give me time to prepare!

Personal Description:
I enjoy all aspects of English Literature, the research process and critical analysis. My most recent teaching has concentrated on sixteenth century texts, including Shakespeare's 'King Lear', 'Hamlet', 'Romeo and Juliet' and Webster's 'The White Devil.' I have also recently taught Oscar Wilde's novel 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' and Scott Fitzgerald's 'The Great Gatsby.'

Currently, I work as a note-taker for university undergraduates who have sight or hearing impairment or a specific learning disability. I enjoy this work immensely as I go along to support students in lectures and seminars in a diverse range of subjects including Philosophy, Psychology, Law and Sports Development which I find very interesting and rewarding.

Teaching Experience:

At a Sixth Form College, I have taught GCSE English (AQA Board); English Entry 3, Level 1 and Level 2 (OCR Board); a Government unit on Public Services Level 3 (Edexcel) and Public Service Skills Level 2 (Edexcel).
I have also been a Personal Tutor for 16-19 age group at a Sixth Form College.

Tutoring Approach:

I set objectives, plan targets and evaluate progress and achievement. Reflection plays a key part in the teaching and learning experience. I am flexible and can adapt the learning programme to suit the learners' needs. I will also bring a great deal of enthusiasm to make the learning experience interesting and enjoyable.

Last year, tutees achieved excellent results; this was a result of the high standards adopted and expected of the student matched with lots of hard work.

Personal Description:
I am a friendly, qualified and experienced teacher. I am a native German. I moved to the UK in 1991 just after meeting my future husband. We have three grown-up children, and education and parenthood have been very much part of our lives for many years.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked in secondary schools and colleges in the UK for over 15 years as a German teacher and Head of German. I have conducted GCSE and A-level oral exams for the WJEC examination board, written several syllabuses for German GCSE and A-level groups and organised pupil exchange visits over 6 years. The academic work and pastoral care at the school I worked at was rated "excellent" by Estyn. At present, I am working at home with pupils who are eager to improve their grades at Key stage 3, GCSE and A-level, with adults who are relocating to Germany, and with architects, employees in the car industry and Financial advisers (Business German) who have business relations with Germany. I also teach children at primary level, who have moved to Britain from Germany and are keen to practise German with games, stories, songs and puppet theatre.

Tutoring Approach:

Language tuition has been my passion for a long time and allows me to be supportive and creative, motivating pupils and believing in their abilities. One-to-one tuition is very productive, because it adapts to the individual learner's needs easily. My experience in schools and with exams has given me the knowledge of standards required for GCSE and A-level exams, and many pupils have commented on how much improvement they have seen in their school work, and in their confidence, as a result of our lessons. My aim is to make language learning enjoyable, and therefore I always encourage a warm and relaxed atmosphere for lessons. My lessons are structured, integrating all four language skills speaking, listening, reading and writing, and also include grammar, pronunciation, games, video clips, and lots of authentic material and cultural knowledge.

Hi,
I am a qualified primary school teacher. I graduated in 2009 from Roehampton University with a BA Primary Education degree with QTS and have been teaching for 8 years.

Teaching Experience:

My experience ranges from Foundation Stage to Key stage 2. Meaning from nursery to year 6.
Working with a broad age range of children, has allowed me to have knowledge about the different ways children learn. Which has enabled me to have a range of different teaching styles, to suit each child as an individual. I feel that I would make an exceptional tutor for your child as over my teaching career I have enabled children to make exceptional progress. I also have experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs such as Autism and Cerebral Palsy. Showing that not only am I a warm and welcoming presence but I am also compassionate.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring approach would be similar to my approach to teaching. I would find out where my student is academically first, then to the steps to fill in the gaps in their learning. Therefore, ensuring they continue to make progress.
