Personal Description:
My teaching style is relaxed and friendly, making learning fun but rewarding and with a serious commitment for students to succeed. Friendly, approachable, a good sense of humour, empathetic, patient, dedicated and enthusiastic about teaching, I do my utmost to ensure that my students feel that their learning experience is fulfilling and rewarding.

I do not drive so rely on public transport to get me to and from tutoring jobs, I have put a 15 mile limit on my details but am willing to consider longer distances, however this would incur further travel costs so must be negotiated at the time of booking/hiring my services.

Teaching Experience:

Over 20 years experience teaching 14 years to adults, teaching CV writing (and all areas of Employability), Basic and Soft Skills (including confidence building), Business Enterprise Levels 1, 2 & 3, NVQ Business Administration Levels 1 an 2 and ESOL pre-entry to Level 2. Qualified to Cert Ed, City & Guilds, along with certified in Teaching Literacy and Numeracy to Adults (9380 series), D32/33 Assessors Award and V1 Internal Verifier Award. Currently sourcing a college to study for the Literacy Level 4 Specialism and also to gain ESOL qualifications.

in the last two years I have gained diplomas in Aroma Stress Therapy, Flower Essence Therapy, and in Crystal Healing; an can now either offer any of the therapies themselves, or teach the basics of them.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching is to get to know my students and identify their particular needs, then, working together, devising a programme best suited to them. I am flexible and adaptable according to the student's needs, learning style and learning barriers.

I am more than willing to adapt whatever programme of delivery decided on to best suit the needs of my student, for instance with regard to number of hours per week, number of weeks needed etc.

Personal Description:
I am a computer science graduate and have over 10 experience working within the IT sector as a programmer, Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, Database Developer and then as an IT consultant. Having worked in at least 6 different companies including the NHS, I currently work with a major Bank as a Business/Systems Analyst and Data Architect. As an Analyst and Architect, I am very methodical and logical in my thinking, which always helps when breaking down a problem to people (students) new to the concept.

I'm a very friendly and caring person and have lots of experience of working and interacting with young people in an educational context. I am forward thinking and very creative in finding better ways to explain new concepts to students.

I have experience of working with 1st year to MSc IT students. This usually involves tutoring around concepts not well understood, tutoring to help you start/progress/complete complex assignment and dissertation/thesis.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience teaching in an educational establishment abroad where I tutored in a Secondary school. Subjects included Science(chemistry, Physics, Biology), Maths and IT. This experience gave me good sets of teaching and studying skills that will help the student increase their knowledge and pass the exams with very good grades. My focus at the moment is computer science and you will see from my reviews that I have tutored students with very good outcomes.

Tutoring Approach:

I am very flexible and ready to adapt to make sure that each student gets the most of any teaching session. I understand the fact that each student is different with different pace of learning and understanding. It is with this that I take my time to understand the student in order to optimize the learning experience. I do encourage feedback from my students to make sure that they are happy with the learning.
I am flexible with the teaching session location and I do own my own transport. Also I am flexible as I can do online teaching. Using school text books or lecture notes/slides is my preferred approach as this does not conflict with anything that has already been taught to the student in school or university.

Personal Description:
Qualified and experienced German tutor for 13 years working mainly with adults who need German for business and personal reasons.

Teaching Experience:

Have been teaching German as foreign language for 5 years in South Africa as part of a naval project in collaboration with the Bundeswehr. Furthermore have been tutoring individuals for the past 13 years (from child carers to tour operators). Have upgraded my skills with the Goethe Institute in Cape Town and also attended some teaching seminars of which one was with the German Defense Force at their language school in Cologne. Have a degree in languages as well as a national diploma in German teaching didactic.

Tutoring Approach:

I think that communication is a priority and that a course should be customized according to the specific client's need. I believe that learning a language should be fun and that even adults learn easier with games and topics that they are interested in. The grammar and writing skills should be integrated in the learning process without boring the learner. The other important aspect is to introduce German culture and and Germany to the client in order to get bigger picture of language and its context.

Personal Description:
Hi I'm Heather!

I'm from London and my favourite colour is green.

I hold a First Class Degree in English Literature and Drama from Manchester University. I am also a trained actress.

I've been tutoring for over 5 years, working with students aged 6 years, up to 18, supporting them through KS1-4, GCSE and A'Level/IB curricula. I have also taught English as a foreign language. The content of my tutorials is entirely student- led; i.e I work towards the individual's goals and learning styles. I am experienced in the teaching of essay writing, exam preparation and textual analysis/understanding. The most important thing I can do as a tutor is to empower the student to feel confident in their own abilities and thoughts.

I have worked with students of A Level and GCSE in a diverse range of texts including Victorian Gothic literature, the American Novel, pre and post 1900 poetry, modern drama and theatre studies, post -colonial literature, dystopian literature. All of my students have achieved their personal desired A-C grades, and gained acceptance into the university of their choice.

I have 2 years experience of home schooling Key Stage 2 and 3 literacy and numeracy, with an excellent overview of the curriculum and a variety of techniques to engage different learners. I have worked closely with young learners with dyslexia and Asperger's syndrome.

I also teach drama school audition preparation, public speaking skills and methods of overcoming academic anxiety. I h

Do get in touch if you have any questions!

-On-going voluntary work as a drama wokshop facilitator, (and Hackney Shed Inclusive Theatre Company) both a university and drama school
-TEFL introductory course- Cambridge
-Creative writing teacher training with The Ministry of Stories
-Drama facilitator, Hackney Shed Theatre Company

Tutoring Approach:

I believe tutoring should be a dialogue, not a dictatorship. Each lesson would be highly organized to cater for the requirements and ability level of the individual student. I plan all sessions to include a range of discussion, demonstration, exercises, review of work and homework tasks if required. Crucial to my teaching approach is an easy, flexible engagement with the individual- working to their learning style and objectives, and encouraging the pupil to draw out their own understandings rather than enforce rote learning.

Areas of expertise include: Literature Romantic poetry, contemporary poetry, the dystopian novel, the Gothic novel, WWI literature, post-colonial literature, the early novel, Shakespeare, dramatic writing, film studies. History- Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, Russia from Revolution through to the cold war. Apartheid in South Africa, the Suffragette movement, the history of British Education, Chartism. Personal Description:
I am a fifth year medical student at Imperial College London and recently completed my BSC degree in healthcare management from Imperial Business School.

During my school career I achieved 8 A* and 4 A's. Furthermore I achieved 1 A* and 3 A's during my A levels, additionally I also achieved another A at As level in Further Maths. Teaching Experience:

I think the fact that having just been through what most of these students are going through gives me a slight advantage due to my knowledge being recent and up to date. I also have experience in teaching A-level Maths as well as GCSE Maths.

I have previously served on Imperial College's Interview Panel for Medicine as there student representative and thus have an extensive insight into the interview process, the typical questions asked and the factors that differentiate candidates. Teaching Experience:

I have 6 years experience teaching Year 1 as well as experience supply teaching across both key stages 1 and 2. I have tutored privately for years and worked with children from Year 1 right up to 11+ preparation. I am passionate about what I do and achieve excellent results.

Tutoring Approach:

I have tutored many children on a one to one basis, subjects ranging from Maths, Writing, Reading and also Recorder lessons. The most important part of tutoring is understanding the child's specific learning needs. I tailor every session to suit the child and to follow his/ her progress. As a primary teacher, I pride myself on being extremely patient and on making learning fun. There is nothing to be gained from tutoring a child who wishes they weren't there. Once a rapport has been built between myself and the child, progress flies. Enjoyment is key.

Personal Description:
Hi my name is Jake

I am an experienced photographer/videographer with many years of practice, I have a degree from Nottingham Trent University along with a video production company called Capture the Guru. Over the years I have worked in many different areas of both disciplines, finding myself specialising in architectural photography and music based videography.

I have in-depth knowledge in both practical skills and in the psychology of interpreting images and video, this allows me to not only teach you how to take and record quality material, along with how to work with it in post-production but to also consider how your work will be received.

However most importantly I want to take the interest that you have currently and give you the skills to truly produce material to be proud of, along with further instilling the enjoyment that is so important.

Teaching Experience:

I have not had much formal teaching experience as of yet, however I have taught a fair few people tricks in order for them to produce better snaps. Whilst I was studying me and a group of friends on the course banded together to help teach each other the parts we struggled with, I was always very apt with the technical side of photography and would teach the others how to used different forms of cameras and how to emulate specific styles that we were learning about.

Now however since working within video my colleague and me are constantly teaching each other new tricks whilst filming and editing.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching is simple, to discover the level of enjoyment and enhance it. We can all become frustrated when the need to produce our ideas is limited by our current knowledge and when it comes to mediums like photography and videography a practical hands-on lesson far surpasses any online tutorial.

I am a very hand-on and location based teacher, Instead of giving you material to read I want to show you techniques, allow you to feel what it is like to be searching for an image you may not fully understand.

I have currently been in my teaching role for four years. I have worked with children from Nursery through to the end of Primary seven.
I studied at Edinburgh University after leaving High school at the end of sixth year with nine highers in a variety of subjects including Maths (A) and English (B). I also have higher qualifications in Biology, Geography, Modern Studies, History, Computing Studies, Art, French and Hospitality.
I am 26 years old and have recently just bought a house in East Lothian.
I am happy to travel as I have a car and I am also happy to work at my own home.
Being a teacher means I am extensively PVG checked and have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to tutoring and teaching.

Teaching Experience:

Primary School Teacher, East Lothian Council, Tranent August 2013 - Present

The main duties in my role have included: delivering the curriculum to a primary four and seven class, assessing pupils and recording evidence then using this information to plan the next steps in teaching, working alongside other professionals and management for planning and behavior management and nurturing children's health and wellbeing whilst remaining professional at all times.
I have been in charge of my own professional development and have attended a number of courses and training sessions.
I have contributed to the wider life of the school by organising and running after school clubs. In my three years teaching at an upper and middle level in primary I have gained a wealth of experience and confidence. I have worked at many levels including my classroom, my school and cluster level and have been a part of cluster numeracy moderation which was invaluable to my own professional development.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a very calm and easy going approach to teaching whilst ensuring each child gets what they need out of our sessions. I believe building a relationship with the child is important; they need to be able to trust, respect and like me as an individual.
As I have worked with a variety of children in a variety of settings I feel comfortable working with every child that needs my support.
