Personal Description:
I am a contemporary artist making visual art for exhibition, publication and screening. I make work in painting, photography and film and I also write and make books. My work often takes me to lots of interesting places around the country and abroad where I facilitate training in art and creativity with a range of community groups. I have been working as an artist in schools since 1997 particularly with primary school aged children. When I am not doing all of this i like to go to the theatre, galleries, travel and cook. I'm part of a local ladies football team who i train with every week and I commute by bicycle whenever I can as keeping fit and active is an important part of my lifestyle.

Teaching Experience:

I began teaching/facilitating as a training advisor in 2001 within a community arts project and adopted a participant-centred approach which was effective in working with participants who were partly or permanently excluded from school or/and living within the foster care system, or unemployed with no or little qualifications. My role was to facilitate the development of individualised project briefs and themes with participants based upon both their strengths and interests and build a programme of workshops to facilitate both creative and Key Skills development. Participants would be encouraged to work independently, individually and in groups in response to self-created briefs to produce a portfolio of creative work. I liaised with outside agencies within education, social services, and industry sectors to actively re-introduce and establish participants who had produced a body of work into full/part time education, work experience or/and relevant employment. The process of facilitation and consultation was quite challenging due to issues and barriers to learning and expression participants displayed and I developed an open, flexible and responsive attitude. Continual monitoring, informal and formal assessment strengthened the reflection and evaluation of participants engagement and progress which in turn led to further developments in implementing differentiated provision.
This experience laid the foundations for a teaching style that was inclusive in nature and was further developed throughout the following years (2002-) of artistic practice that saw me facilitate skills in visual art production with a range of community groups. The combined experiences as a training advisor and as an artist/facilitator have merged into what I consider to be a teaching style that flourished with my role as lecturer on the photography degree at a local college. Working within an institution of further and higher education as a lecturer was a stark contrast to what I had engaged in before and required me to teach within established schemes of work and modes of delivery. I adapted myself to this successfully maintaining a creative and individualised approach to teaching within a framework. The following academic year in 2007 I was given the responsibility of devising the scheme of work and mode of delivery for the critical and theoretical studies module on the photography degree, which was to be co-delivered with a new member of staff.

Tutoring Approach:

Throughout employment as a lecturer and training advisor my approach and teaching style took into consideration each student's individual circumstances, their interests, needs, abilities, and learning styles, adapting the teaching content and style to ensure student engagement. I am also aware of what is needed to effectively strike a balance between individual student aspirations and abilities against collective requirements stipulated by a curriculum. I've worked with students from both vocational and academic backgrounds, with disaffected and culturally diverse youth age groups, with students who have alternative and changing lifestyles, mental health and physical conditions, and do so by adapting style and content to structure and scaffold their journey through the course offering the relevant support and pastoral care.

Personal Description:
I am a senior manager working within the public sector based in central London. My academic qualifications in this field are supported by extensive professional experience working within local and central government. I provide that sought after combination of in depth academic political knowledge with 'on the ground' relevant and extensive practical experience. Many of my clients comment on this being a significant factor in why I was chosen above other tutors.

I am not a State Registered Teacher. I like to ensure that this is clear. However the vast majority of politics teachers are not qualified in politics and have little in depth understanding of the nuances of British or US political systems. Many of my students ask me why I don't teach. The simple answer is that I can pick the subject I want to teach and throw 100% of my time into one student at a time.

Teaching Experience:

I have extensive tutoring experience of A level Government and Politics and a proven track record. I am currently tutoring students for Edexcel and AQA A Level Government and Politics and essay writing. I can provide verifiable references from recent/current students.

The last round of exams (August 2016) all my students achieved a minimum two grade increase to their original grades (some going from E to B) and can provide details and personal references for any potential client to check. All of my students this year achieved a B or above.

A significant amount of my client base is built up through recommendations from previous clients. I also have extensive experience of teaching adults in an adult education environment and have an NVQ in Delivering Learning.

Tutoring Approach:

I provide tutoring on a 121 basis but am totally flexible depending on the tutees needs. I tutor to the subject syllabus, with the added value of my experience, expertise and contextual detail on current political and social events being included. I build confidence above all else.

It is always difficult inviting a new tutor into your house, but you will find I am relaxed, friendly, totally adaptable and totally reliable. My clients comment they can set their watch by my punctuality! I am available most evenings and all weekends but with sufficient notice I can also tutor during the day.

Included in the fee is full email and telephone support - no extra charges !! In addition the first consultation is free of charge for you to meet me and ensure that I am suitable for your needs. I will travel most places but if it is a substantial distance will add travel costs.

Teaching Experience:

My experience is mainly in coaching and one to one instruction and mentoring. I am patient and I go that extra to make sure the student gets the best of what I offer.

My approach is to give an overview of the value of education in general and to establish interest in the subject. I then coach the student to understand that the success story is centred on him or her no matter how good I am. In other words I give 5-10 free minutes of motivating the student before the real lesson

Personal Description:
I am a PhD Candidate (Lebanese/Brazilian) at the University of Edinburgh, speaking 4 languages and having worked as a professional private tutor in sciences/math abroad, and within the UK, for more than 8 years. I had the chance to tutor over 120 students in levels equivalent to GCSEs and A levels, as well as higher-degree university students. I hold two masters degrees with Distinctions in natural sciences (Oceanography) and Carbon Finance (renewable energy and climate change studies).

Teaching Experience:

Because the vast majority of my research is conducted off campus, I am available to take on flexible tutoring sessions throughout the entire week, at almost anytime of the day, as I coordinate my research time around tuition sessions. With an extensive experience with students of different academic backgrounds, I have grown a firm grasp of what tutees of various classes, ages, and intellectual levels need and what approach is to be best adopted during progressive sessions, in accordance with how fast a tutee can learn.

Tutoring Approach:

I will generally take the first meeting to get to know the learner and talk with them one on one about their needs and their perception of their needs. If the learner is a child I will then talk to their parents separately about their child`s needs and behavior toward learning and general attitude toward an academic environment. I take personalized care of each student of mine, tailoring each experience depending on the need. I will generally find supplementary material to work with the student in tutor time. Again, I will do this depending on the particular situation of the tutee. I will be there to help complete homework, provide additional less or more rigorous material, provide study skills, help study, provide writing skills and practice, language immersion, progress reports for parents and teachers for child tutees, and most importantly a constant helping and supportive contact for those in need of help at any time. I take great care of my students as a tutor and my unwavering goal is to help students grow and learn academically and personally and give them the tools to maintain these skills, be it through their next exam or their life. Tutoring and helping is my passion and my utilitarian approach to tutoring is varying based on each individual`s needs but is based upon unwavering and constant support.

Personal Description:
I am 23 years old and have recently moved to the west Yorkshire area from Newcastle Upon Tyne. I have loved to Perform ever since being a small child where my hobbies were dancing and drama. Through this I have performed in many different places including Her Majesty's theatre in the West End. I have also been very interested in community arts and theatre. It was during my GCSE years when I decided I wanted to turn my hobby into my career. After passing my GCSE in Drama and Alevel in Performing Arts, I graduated from Newcastle College (affiliated by Teeside University) in 2014 with a BA (hons) in Acting where I received a First Class Degree and the year after I graduated again with my PGCE which I specialised in Drama. After a year trying to make a life for myself in Newcastle I moved to West Yorkshire where my Parents are currently living.

As well as teaching and working a bar job to enable to fund myself I am also in the process of applying for masters degree, hoping to start in September.

Teaching Experience:

During my PGCE year I completed my teaching placement at Newcastle college where I taught and lead modules in the BTEC Performing Arts course for both level 1 and level 2, teaching both writing and practical assignments. During my PGCE year I also taught lessons with second year degree students in their alternative technique module, looking at different ideas that can added in to devised theatre.

Even though I have not taught one-to-one private tuition, for the past year I have been teaching Comedy and Drama at a Saturday Performing Arts Academy in the North East, I still travel every Saturday to teach at the drama Academy. I am currently involved in helping to direct my third show with the academy, one of which we performed in London.

As a private tutor I can help with a variety of needs for the student, from extra help with drama GCSEs, Alevels and Degree courses both with written work and Practical work. I Can help with Auditions for Drama school or private lessons to help with extra curricular drama exams such as Trinity College London - where I am some experience.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe it is important to create a rapport with students, as from experience they become comfortable with me as a teacher and create mutual respect which I believe helps with the learning journey. I care about my students success.


I can tutor face to face (essential for practical work) or tutor online via emails and Skype, where I can give feedback, help to break down tasks, plan , help with research and set tasks when need be to further on the learning.

I set homework as and when I feel is appropriate.
