Personal Description:
I completed Nuclear Power Engineering degree studies in 1990 after 6 years of training in Havana and Moscow. Between 1990 and 2004, I worked as a Biomedical researcher in the fields of Immunology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Vaccine Development. This involves collaboration with many European and American research teams and working visits to leading Biomedical centres in UK, Netherlands, Sweden, Germany and Spain including several UK Royal Society Fellowships and a UK Wellcome Trust International Travelling Post-doctoral Fellowship at Glasgow University Division of Immunology/Microbiology, which can be followed up by publication in peer-review scientific journals. Since 2006, I have been teaching Mathematics at GCSE and A-levels in the UK and currently, I am teaching at these levels plus International Baccalaureate Level. I have been an external marker (Mathematics in English and Spanish languages) for the International Baccalaureate Organisation for the last two years. Born in Cuba, Spanish is my mother tongue, thus i am able to tutor at any level in these two subjects: Mathematics and Spanish.

Teaching Experience:

In the last 4 years, I have had the opportunity to teach both in Scotland and England, thus I am familiar with mathematics teaching programmes in both locations. This include pupils at all stages of secondary education from 11-14 up to Advanced Highers/Advanced A-levels. It includes extensive tutoring practice with pupils preparing for GCSE(Standard Grade) and A(Higher) exams.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe the role of a tutor is to encourage and guide pupils who are already interested to succeed in a particular topic. Thus, I would provide all the encouragement and academic support for them to achieve their top potential. In my experience over the years, I have observed over and over again, that pupils preparing for A/Higher levels exams show most difficulties linking contents taught in previous years(GCSE/Standard Grade) to the newer A/Higher level topics. Thus, I focus a good deal of attention to fill those gaps and develop both pupils' awareness of these connections and relevant knowledge and skills in such a way they are capable to perform independently achieving consistently a minimum of 70%-85% in practice papers prior to the actual exam date.

Personal Description:
Having completed my legal qualification, I am now self-employed as an IT consultant and business owner with a bit of spare time in which I teach. I have previous teaching experience not only on a one-to-one basis but also in the classroom environment.
Having attended private primary and secondary schools with exceptional teaching standards throughout, I have gained a lot of valuable experience and understanding in how educators can take their students the extra mile to ensure that not only do they get the best grades but also to ensure that students get the best from their education in order to assist them later in life, whether that be at university or in their careers.

Teaching Experience:

Having taught in both classroom and one-on-one based environments, I have a broad range of skills and expertise when it comes to actually laying out the knowledge. Private tutoring has been something I have always done on the side and having taught in such environments for over four years, I have significant experience in teaching and learning styles which can assist students on a multitude of levels.
I have taught students from Year 9 to Year 13 and beyond, the main subjects taught being Maths, English, Sciences, Law, Business Studies and Information Technology.
University Level can also be catered for, subjects such as Law, Business Studies and IT/Computing.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to give students a relaxed environment in which they can learn and enjoy. Furthermore, I believe working outside of lessons is also a key part to learning and developing one's knowledge hence my use of short yet effective homework exercises which not only prepare students for the next session but also help reinforce what they have already learnt. Using these techniques, I am able to better assist the student(s) on where they may need some more assistance. Of course, every student is different and learning techniques always need to be worked upon in order to ensure that students get the most out of their sessions with me.

Personal Description:
I am a 24-year-old, native speaker and fully-qualified teacher of French, based in Lancaster.
I completed my PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) in French with German in 2016, gaining Qualified Teacher Status, and I have experience of one-to-one tutoring in French and English as a foreign language, to children, students and adults.
I am a bilingual speaker of French and English and have lived, studied and worked in both England and France.

Teaching Experience:

- Currently tutoring and have previously tutored students of different ages and abilities in French and English as a foreign language
- Taught French at Key Stages 3 and 4 in two secondary schools over the course of last year
- Worked as an English Language Assistant in two colleges in France, teaching English to 15-21 year olds, in 2012-2013
- Did a one-week placement in a local sixth-form last year
- Worked as a supply teacher for various subjects in July last year

Tutoring Approach:

I tailor my tutoring to the needs and wishes of my students - whether you would prefer conversational practice with a native speaker, a more academic approach to prepare for exams, or learning French from scratch - it's up to you! I am friendly, patient and enthusiastic, and keen to help you develop your confidence and make progress.

In the first session I will gauge your level through conversation and some generic exercises, and discuss what you wish to focus on in upcoming lessons. From there, we will decide on topics and focus points together from one session to the next, with each session building on the previous one, so that you get exactly what you want out of the sessions and feel like you are making progress in the right areas, whether that be grammar points, speaking, or any other area.

Personal Description:
I'm a 24 year old recent physics graduate, based in Chipping Norton). I'm patient, knowledgeable and have a passion for the sciences!

I'm currently applying for a PhD in nuclear physics to start September 2017 and am working as a part-time private tutor in the meantime.

As part of my degree, I completed 3 years of studying, combined with a year of industrial research work in Cambridge. Before this, I studied A-levels in physics, mathematics, chemistry and History, in addition to 10 GCSEs.

Outside of work, I enjoy everything from football and tennis to hiking and rock climbing.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a freelance private tutor for almost two years now, working in both the West Yorkshire area (whilst attending University) and the Warwickshire/Oxfordshire areas (following the completion of my degree). My tutoring experience includes all three sciences and mathematics at Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3 and GCSE/iGCSE levels, along with maths and physics at AS/A2 and degree levels.

Alongside my physics degree, I partook in an optional 10 month `Physics in Schools` placement - which saw me work as a part-time teaching assistant for maths and physics classes at a local secondary school. In addition to helping out during classes (lesson planning, 1-to-1 support, marking etc.), I also ran after school maths and science tutoring sessions for students struggling with the course.

In addition, for 12 months during my `Year in Industry`, I represented my employer as a "Young Engineer`s Ambassador" to local schools in the Cambridge area. Twice a week, alongside a team of 3, I helped demonstrate basic scientific, mathematical and mechanical engineering methods to classes of all ages - with the intention of inspiring the next generation of potential scientists. The sessions included presentations, 1-to-1 guidance and interactive group workshops.

Tutoring Approach:

Having struggled with maths at a young age and, as a result, taking extra sessions (aged 11), I am a huge believer in the benefits that can come from 1-to-1 tutoring. I aim to create a balance between a fun, relaxed teaching atmosphere, where students can feel confident enough to fully engage in the material, and a secure structured teaching environment with a clear plan for the future. I employ a wide variety of teaching materials in order to keep notoriously dull content interesting and intuitive, whilst ensuring that no method, theory or equation is relegated to the realms of confusion and mystery.

Overall, I have a flexible teaching style and will always formulate a teaching plan using the input from the student, parent/guardian and myself, with detailed progress updates after each session so the client can feel confident they are getting their money's worth!
