Personal Description:
An enthusiastic and out going Latin American Spanish teacher from Argentina with a passion for helping others improve their language skills! - Especially Spanish

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching Spanish as a foreign language in Argentina and UK for a couple of years.
_________________________________
In addition to languages I also teach drama and free expression for beginners and would be actors. A great technique to learn if you want to build personal confidence in every aspect of life - from delivering business presentations to building personal friendships.

Tutoring Approach:

I design the classes depending on the student needs. Normally my classes include:
________________________________
Regular classes with a careful mix of 25% listening, 25% oral, 25% reading and 25% writing skills all of which can be adjusted to meet the specific needs of the student. The classes use a range of techniques and games and inevitably have special homework assignments!

Conversation classes: In these the student and I develop special themes (for college, work or just for fun!) and use those "themes" to help build grammar and vocabulary. The conversation classes are dynamic, full of games, and involve a little bit of acting - what better way to out your language skills into practice!

Special classes: In these we handle a wide range of "real life" activities, from watching a movie, going to the supermarket, visiting a park and learning how to tango!
________________________________
The lessons can range from an hour to a whole day - so the classes can fit around your social, school and business life. So now there is no excuse in not getting going!

Personal Description:
I am educated to degree standard with a recognised teaching qualification, specialising in Mathematics. I offer Mathematics throughout primary and secondary school to GCSE.I have experience of working in both school and college, though now prefer to concentrate my efforts on 'private tuition' in which I have had considerable success and find stimulating and rewarding.

Teaching Experience:

I am educated to degree standard with a recognised teaching qualification, specialising in Mathematics. I offer Mathematics throughout primary and secondary school to GCSE.I have experience of working in both school and college, though now prefer to concentrate my efforts on 'private tuition' in which I have had considerable success and find stimulating and rewarding. I am fully conversant with the Maths syllabus throughout primary and secondary school and aim to pass this knowledge on to the pupil in a supportive atmosphere, tailoring lessons to the needs of the individual pupil. Several years of experience in Teaching BTEC L3 Engineering.

Tutoring Approach:

Initially find the level of student then according to his/her ability explain go through a couple of examples. Then set task for the pupil any difficulty rectify on the spot. At the end of lesson set home work. If students have a particular difficulty then explain and go through a couple of examples together.

Personal Description:
My names Will, I am a recent graduate of the University of hertfordshire, studying music. I've been a percussionist since about the age of 8 and started playing the kit when I was about 10/11. I believe in methodical practicing; focusing on specific techniques and concepts, and not progressing till they are mastered. I like to make the learning experience as musical as possible, so I often have my pupils playing to backing tracks, of my own piano accompaniment. Piano is my other instrument. My main, preferred style of drumming is jazz. Jazz fusion being the strongest sub-genre. I can teach almost any genre apart from maybe heavy metal, as I never took much interest in that, and don't use a double pedal! My main influences out of many I would say are Dave Weckl, Steve Gadd, John Bonham, Jojo Mayer and Buddy Rich...

I am also a keen artist, and have studied many avenues of art over my time practicing the subject. After music, it is my biggest interest, and I have been doing it all my life. My area of focus is fine art, but I have plenty of knowledge in other areas. Recently I had an oil painting exhibited in the Royal Albert Hall for the remembrance day.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught numerous pupils in my time as a tutor. With the age range starting at about 8 up to 40 odd. I also took a group percussion class during my A levels, and I'm about to start teaching a fellow student of mine in the upcoming weeks.

I have no formal teaching experience as yet for art, but I have built up a bank of experience over the years, becoming well versed in all mediums and subjects.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching the drums, is to build a strong technical approach through consistent and extended study of the different aspects of drumming and genres they can be used in. I make sure time is taken to master certain elements of drumming technique, but also try to make the lessons as enjoyable as possible, by having an extended library of music to play along to, and also by trying to get the student to explore their own creative ideas, and help find their own voice on the instrument.

My approach to teaching art will be similar to how I teach the drums. I will aim to teach the student all the fundamental techniques I know, experiment with a wide range of media, and help them achieve what I call 'flare,' which some people regard as only being a natural talent, but I think you can find it in almost everyone, If they haven't already found it themselves.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified, approachable and professional tutor with nine years teaching experience. I am friendly, reliable, patient and I believe in building a student's confidence to help them achieve their potential.

I graduated at the University of Liverpool and achieved a Masters Degree in Chemistry with Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I then completed my teacher training at the University of Nottingham, before going on to work full time as a secondary school teacher.

Teaching Experience:

For the last nine years I have taught:

- Combined Science to Key Stage 3 (in a secondary school environment)
- Biology and Chemistry to GCSE and A Level (in a secondary school environment)
- A range of examination boards, including AQA, OCR, Edexcel and also the IGCSE qualification
- In both a comprehensive and an independent school
- One-to-one private tutoring sessions to students finding Biology, Chemistry and Science difficult
- One-to-one private tutoring sessions to students needing to achieve the highest grades in A Level Biology and Chemistry for entry into Medicine and Oxbridge

As well as teaching and private tutoring I also work as an Examiner so I have an additional insight into exam preparation.

My role as a teacher in an independent school also involves marking entry examinations, so I am able to prepare students for these exams.

During my industrial placement year at university I worked as a Research Scientist for GlaxoSmithKline, applying Biology and Chemistry to researching new pharmaceuticals. I frequently draw on this experience to stretch and challenge students needing to achieve the highest grades for University entry.

Tutoring Approach:

I thoroughly enjoy motivating my students and I have built a variety of teaching resources to help students of all abilities. My students tell me that I help them break down complex information into more manageable sections. As well as preparing students for examinations I try to inspire them to enjoy and apply their subjects beyond the focus of exams. I strongly believe that learning should be enjoyable and accessible to everyone.

I understand how daunting it can be for parents and students to begin tuition so I am more than happy for parents to stay during my lessons. I can provide references and testimonials from my previous students and the schools I have worked for, as well as an enhanced CRB check. I am happy to set homework, mark examination papers and give detailed feedback, as well as organise additional lessons during examination periods.

Personal Description:
I am a 1st Class Honours graduate from UCLAN, Preston, having studied Dance Performance and Teaching. The course combined dance technique, physical training and a strong focus on facilitating and tutoring.
I gained a highly acclaimed PGCE Secondary teacher training qualificaton specialising in Performing Arts (dance and drama) at Liverpool Hope University and professionally lectured HND Dance at Mid Cheshire college.
I enjoy academic work and feel confident in my own abilities regarding writing skills, basic computer skills and organisational skills. I personally have worked on these attributes through all my A Level studies and during University (both under-graduate and post-graduate) to reach a stage where I am competent and comfortable enough to pass what I have learnt onto others. My A Level subjects included English Language, Psychology and Performing Arts.
I now teach Dance, Drama, Music and English at a London secondary school and am the whole school Literacy Lead as well as Head of Performing Arts (Music, Dance and Drama).
I am an approachable, empathetic and dedicated tutor that has knowledge of the current education system and styles first hand.

Teaching Experience:

To date, my experience varies from both formal educational settings to those in the community. I have experience with all ages and all abilities; including disadvantaged groups and disabled students.
Dance is my specialism so I often teach in Physical Education settings, combining techniques from both typical classroom management and also general facilitation.
I am continually working in the community to broaden my experience base and as a result have worked with all types of learners therefore building up a good amount of tools and skills that I apply to individual cases.
I assisted in the running and facilitating of Preston Youth Dance Company and, until moving to London, ran my own community classes as well as teach professionally at further and higher education levels.
In my professional environment I am subject to regular observations and monitoring to maintain my high practice.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is often a more physical 'learn by doing' approach. Visualising and trying each avenue out is what I find works best in order to understand what does and does not work. I take care in addressing the type of learner I deal with and prefer not to force or expect knowledge but encourage and develop it.
I believe that it is important to firstly understand each other as tutor and tutee and then agree on preferred structure and goals, both short and long term. I also firmly believe in praise where due and do not hesitate to create the correct relationship boundaries.

Personal Description:
I have recently completed a PhD in the law school at the University of Glasgow. My research is interdisciplinary and spans three areas: criminal justice - specifically jury research; critical pedagogy - specifically Paulo Freire's Pedagogy of the Oppressed and interactive theatre - specifically Augusto Boal's Theatre of the Oppressed. I have a rich experience in life having previously worked for 10 years in the music business as a classical clarinet player. I have travelled extensively and have lived and worked as a teacher in Singapore. I am passionate about teaching and where possible use critical pedagogy as a means to develop the best in each student that I meet. I am a relaxed personality and I believe that where dialogue is enabled between teacher and student a critical awareness of the subject can be achieved. I believe in encouraging each student to discover his best self in his educational journey.

Teaching Experience:

I have a great deal of teaching experience which covers all age ranges and abilities. When working in Singapore I worked as a teacher of children aged 5-12 at the Julia Gabriel Speech and Drama centre as well as developing the music course at the sister pre-school, Chiltern House where I worked with younger children aged between 3 and 4 years. In Scotland I have worked as a tutor and lecturer at the University of Glasgow Law School teaching criminal law and evidence to first year LLB students; at Strathclyde University I have been the course coordinator for contract law and a tutor for criminal law, evidence and criminology, each course was for LLB and LLB hons students. I was the course coordinator for criminal law and family law at the University of the West of Scotland and I have worked as a tutor at Glasgow Caledonian University in Glasgow. I current;y work as a Study Skills Tutor at the University of Glasgow where I support students who may have dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADD, ADHA, asbergers or any number of mental health issues, in their university studies.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that each person has the ability to grow and become empowered through education. I have a relaxed and critical approach to tutoring. I believe that people are able to develop their own skills and potential when dialogue is established. I see my part as the tutor as key in encouraging the student to develop his best self. I have experience working with a diversity of people and I know that through developing a space where a person believes in himself a positive attitude to achieving the best results is possible. I am a very patient and versatile character and I am unafraid of adapting my style to suit the needs of the students.

Personal Description:
Buongiorno. My name is Donatella and I am from Rome.
I am a fully qualified, professional language teacher and I have been living and working in London as a teacher since 1999.
I hold a First Class Master degree in Humanities with Highest Distintion from "Universita' La Sapienza" di Roma (Laurea Magistrale in Lettere e Filosofia con 110 e Lode) with a specialization in History of the Arts.

In 2000 I attended in London a 1 year Language training course and achieved an Oxford & Cambridge Certificate to teach Italian as a foreign language (OCR TFLA).

Teaching Experience:

In Italy I worked both as a teacher in a Montessorri school and as a tour guide.
In 2001 I started working for the LONDON COLLEGE OF FASHION, in Bond Street, were I taught Italian specificly for Fashion.
From 2004 to 2013 I taught at the UNIVERSITY OF THE ARTS LONDON (Holborn) in the folllowing courses:

- BA Elective Italian for Fashion;
- FLAW courses (Foreign Language at Work),
- MFL courses (Modern Foreign Languages)
- ABC Award courses.

During the academic year 2005/2006 I also worked as an External verifier at GOLDSMITH UNIVERSITY, in New Cross, London.

I also have extensive experience as a private teacher, tutoring young students from age 5 to 16 as well as adults.
Through the years I have attended various training courses, including:

- One week International Conference "Italian as a Foreign Language" - UCL (2003)
- "Motivation Techniques and Exam preparation in Italian" - Italian Cultural Institute - London (2004)
- Seminars: "Language & Culture"; "One to one tuitions" - International House, London (2010).

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching is based on 4 pillars: passion; patience; careful planning; consideration of learner's needs & motivation.

I am extremely passionate about Italy, its culture and its tradition and I am enthusiastic about providing lovers of Italy with new opportunities to discover this incredibly diverse country through its language.

I regard PATIENCE in understanding and respecting students' individual pace, abilities and inclinations as a mile stone for my profession.

Teaching is not something you can improvise.
Being a good foreign language teacher requires familiarity with specific didactic theories and tecniques, as well as long experience.
It also requires thorough, time demanding PLANNING. No matter how many years I have been teaching Italian, I always prepare my SCHEME OF WORK to plan a term, as well as my LESSON PLAN to structure every session.
This also means selecting the best/most engaging teaching MATERIAL and NOT relying (simply) upon a text book.

As a teacher, I always consider the learner's NEEDS as my primary objective.
In particular:
- I listen to my students and calibrate my approach according to their personality;
- I identify and realise the potentials of individuals' abilities;
- I continuously learn from learners;
- I show them how to improve their lesser strenghts.

My classes greatly emphasise speaking & listening skills (tecnically called COMMUNICATIVE APPROACH), and are taught in a friendly, fun and relaxed atmosphere designed to enhance learning.

Tutoring Approach:

I am firm yet fair and kind. I work with each student to start where they are at in order to decide an appropriate plan of action to develop their skills at their pace but also for them to reach their targets in a timely manner.

Why I am a good tutor?

-I am patient and passionate about the subject I teach
-I make lessons interesting and can show the student that learning can be fun

Personal Description:
My name is Jasmine, I am 19 years old, and I am currently studying TESOL and Japanese at York St John University. My career goal is to become a translator, and I am working hard to help that happen. My hobbies are reading, writing, and music, which is also how I spend most of my free time (that and running around after my two younger brothers!).

N.B.
As my home address is in Cornwall, and my university address is in York, I am available to tutor in Cornwall during the holidays, and in York during term time.

Teaching Experience:

Though I have had no professional experience tutoring, during secondary school I was a mentor for helping younger children with reading and writing. I also have several language partners that I help to enhance their English skills as well as correcting their grammar. My university course includes the TESOL certificate, which specialises in teaching English as a second language, improving my teaching skills.

Tutoring Approach:

As stated previously, while I have never professionally tutored, I think this role would be good for me. I am patient and persevering, and understand through my own experiences that it is not always possible to learn through one method, but instead, there are many ways to learn new information that is tailored to your needs. While I am young meaning I may have less experience in this field, I also think an advantage of my age is that I am very open minded.

Personal Description:
Currently I am a pupil from Aboyne academy and would love to gain experiences on teaching. I am heading to the university of Edinburgh in September doing Accounting and Finance. I am a native Chinese( Mandarin) speaker. I am more familiar on new higher and NAT 5 accounting and maths courses than others due to I've done it and achieved both A band 1(A*) and I have gained top marks in those subjects since NAT 5 until now Advanced higher.

Teaching Experience:

Help out higher and NAT5 accounting classes and manage to help some of them pass the course and getting As.
Helped younger pupils in my school and they manage to get B grades/ A grades in their exams

Tutoring Approach:

The structure would be
1. Outline the struggling areas he/she doesn't understand by asking and do a general paper.
2. Provide similar type of questions as examples for explaining and practicing.
3. Do a unit level question to see if he/she fully understands.
4. Past papers

My aim is to help tutees build up confidences on the subject and be able to pass the exam for granted and hopefully get an A in their subjects
