Personal Description:
I have over 10 year experience working as a Chemistry teacher and I currently work in an Outstanding Sixth Form Grammar School. I am experienced with tutoring A Level and GCSE students and I have an excellent record of examination results. I completed a Science PGCE at Edgehill University in 2005 and graduated from UMIST (University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology) with a Chemistry BSc (Hons)

I am friendly, confident and approachable person. I have up to date knowledge of the current specifications for AQA and understand the demands that the new linear courses have on the students. I am able to work flexible hours after school or weekends to fit in with your needs and I offer sessions with prepared resources to ensure that your tutoring needs are fulfilled. My lessons are structured to optimise time to the benefit of the student.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught AQA A level and GCSE Chemistry in secondary schools for over 10 years and am judged as an Outstanding teacher. I have a large bank of resources and experience from this.
I have attended many AQA standardisation meetings and I am confident with the structure and style of examination questions. I receive up to date information regarding the new specification and have recently attended AQA's feedback on AS for A level Chemistry 2016.
There is much more emphasis and demand on assessment of practical skills and working in a school which has passed the inspection by AQA for the practical endorsement as well as attending an AQA course that focused on the required practicals and their assessment provides me with up to date knowledge that only a teacher can have.
I have been tutoring students for the last 5 years and have been able to help many students to improve their confidence and achieve their target grade allowing them to gain their place at university. I would be happy to provide any references if required from the parents of these students.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a relaxed, friendly approach to tutoring and use a variety of resources to help aid memory of difficult concepts. I use a lot of exam questions to practice exam technique and build confidence.
I enjoy adapting my teaching style to meet individual student needs and I am always willing to make new resources and revision aids to support my students.
I will bring copies of all resources free of charge.
I charge 35 per hour for home visits or 30 if you travel to me.

Personal Description:
Experienced tutor for A-level and Degree Chemistry. Throughout my academic and research career I have developed a passion for chemistry and teaching and have been extensively involved in the tutoring and mentoring of students across a range of levels over many years. I have a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Bristol in addition to a 1st Class Masters Degree in Chemistry from the University of Edinburgh. I am currently employed as a Senior Research Scientist in the North East with responsibilities including the training and mentoring of chemistry undergraduate students from a range of Universities.

Teaching Experience:

My passion for teaching started during my PhD where I taught practical and theoretical chemistry to numerous undergraduates, with particular focus on 1st year students struggling with key concepts to guide them through exams. Since then, I have continued to teach and mentor chemistry across a range of levels with particular focus on helping A-Level chemistry students struggling to get the grips with key concepts.

Tutoring Approach:

I adopt a systematic and logical approach to teaching using 'real-life' examples and models where ever possible to aid the students understanding and visualisation of the problems. This approach not only assists their immediate understanding of the subject, but come exam time, also helps them to identify the correct answer to the problems in front of them. I am available most evenings for tuition, so please feel free to contact me for more information or a quick chat.

Personal Description:
I want to motivate and empower my pupils to help them become the best that they can be. After five years working in various financial analysis roles across London, I have spent the last two years working for myself as a consultant for charities, Escape Room owners and creative entrepreneurs and as a tutor as well. I enjoy any opportunities to help others achieve their goals.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring University students and adults in business subjects and Microsoft Excel for the past four years whilst working in Finance. Prior experience has also included children of ages 5-12 in groups and 1-1 tutoring at ages: 5-8 (for Maths and English) and 10 (for 11+ exams). Over the past year, I have taken on two students: an adult Saudi taking her Masters in Business and a 10 year old Lithuanian to whom I have been teaching English, Maths and interconnecting it with his interest in game design.

Tutoring Approach:

I tailor my tuition largely to the needs of the student, depending on their requirements and working style. However, my preferred method is to split each session into covering material being learned at school and taking short practice tests to assess weak areas and revise for exams. While tutoring to any required curricula I will also try to instil the love of a subject into a student by guiding them to other fascinating areas of the subject and discovering areas of interests to support the subject's framework.

Personal Description:
Well, hello there! My name is Terianne. I am American. From near New York City. I lived in New York City for a long time. Then I moved to Rome and now here I am in fantastic magical Brighton! Well, in Hove, actually! I ride my bicycle to get around, I do yoga, (Bikram hot yoga and other kinds). I organize comedy nights, I write a blog and nothing makes me happier than meeting new people and this is the right place to do it!

Teaching Experience:

I taught for ten years in Rome, Italy at a school called Wall Street School of English. I loved teaching there. The students were fantastic. In addition to grammar and conversation classes, I started a Drama Club and we did shows for the rest of the school at Christmas. I miss it.

I have also taught at Brighton Language College and I have done a lot of private tutoring. Mostly adults or young adults and some children. I have also taught acting and improvisation so my classes are seriously fun. Both serious AND fun.

Tutoring Approach:

I love the English language and I love teaching! English so weird and wacky and expressive. (Maybe you will need a dictionary to look up those words! :-) ) Unfortunately for you, English can be also a bit difficult. I know. But let's not focus on that. Let's focus on having fun, let's focus on the joy of learning and then what will happen is that the silly mistakes we make will only make us laugh. We will laugh a lot and you will learn a lot. That's the best way to learn.

As for me, I am a trained actress and comedienne so I will always keep you entertained and the lessons will always be lively. And I expect you to do your homework! Just because you hire a teacher, doesn't mean you're going to learn: you have to do the work!
