Personal Description:
I am an LSE graduate in BSc Accounting and Finance and have also obtained postgraduate qualifications in Statistics, I am currently a dedicated and passionate full-time tutor, I am passionate about my subjects and dedicated to seeing students do well.

I was privileged enough to be afforded a very good private education and originally decided to take on tutoring as an opportunity to share my knowledge with others and allow them to realise their full potential and all the other benefits of a good education.

Five main factors have contributed to my success so far namely,
- I have high expectations of myself and my students, I believe every student can achieve the best grades with the right help

- I instil confidence and a "can do" attitude in students, regularly reminding them that nothing is "hard" if you have been shown how to do it properly

- I listen to students, this keeps lessons interactive and ensures I have constant update on their thought process and current understanding

- I am relatively young so students feel comfortable engaging with me and enjoy learning from me

- I ensure continuous support for students, I make myself available for questions via phone or e-mail throughout the day to ensure the support does not end at the end of the lesson!

Teaching Experience:

I have been a Mathematics and Economics tutor for 4 years in this time my reliability and skill has enabled me to develop a good reputation which has allowed me to have a consistent base of 12 - 16 students on a weekly basis.

Career Highlights!

- Academic Year 2011 - 2012 I helped a student who was predicted a C grade at GCSE to achieve a coveted place at Eltham College after passing a difficult 16+ exam

- Academic year 2012 - 2013 I helped a student who scored a D grade at AS Economics achieve an A grade at A2 level after 8 months of tuition. He was the only student to score an A grade in his school since 2007.

- Academic Year 2013 - 2014 I helped a student who scored a C grade at AS Economics achieve an A grade at A2 Economics with an impressive 97% in Unit 1, 99% in Unit 2 and 100% in Unit 3. He had also had three previous tutors who he was dissatisfied with before coming to me.

Further Teaching Experience

At degree level I have taught Macro and Micro Economics to students attending Russell Group Universities, this year I helped an international student from Ukraine achieve over 70% in both Macro and Micro Economics.

I have taught A-Level Economics across Edexcel, AQA and OCR syllabuses with equal success. I have never had a student score below a B grade and have had several students score over 90% in modules.

I have taught Mathematics at A-Level, GCSE, 16+ and 11+ common entrance levels and covered AQA, Edexcel and iGCSE exam boards. I have helped students gain coveted places at top independent schools such as Eltham College and Bromley High. I have also helped students improve from as low as C grades at GCSE to A grades, however my most notable success this year came when I helped an AS Maths student who scored a D grade in January achieve a B grade in May with an impressive 84% in C1.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching approach embodies a long term approach to learning I teach students in a way which will allow them to be successful in higher study as well as their more short term exams. I also try to make students more confident in their abilities overall not just the material I teach.

I strongly believe that a solid understanding of basic principles is the foundation to success in academic study. I concentrate a lot of time and energy on instilling these basic principles in students.

I am also a strong believer in understanding over 'rope learning' I ensure that pupils understand what they are doing and why they are doing it, never encouraging them to simply regurgitate what they have seen previously.

I also encourage practical understanding of concepts frequently referencing real world examples and using objects to illustrate theory as I recognise that theory on its own given no relevance is harder to remember. Supplementary to this I also relate teaching material to potential job roles and tasks which I have knowledge of (mostly Banking or Business related) in order communicate usefulness to students and keep things interesting.

Finally I believe teaching successfully is ultimately about listening to your students I constantly encourage students to question things and express anything they don't understand or are not too sure of. If a student looks unsure or hesitant about something I will ask open questions or get them to explain concepts to me in order to fully grasp their understanding. This also helps build their confidence and ability to express themselves accurately.

Personal Description:
I am a based on the Wirral on Merseyside. I have a degree in Mathematics and Psychology from University of Newcastle Upon Tyne. I am 25 years old and have spent time learning my trade in a variety of schools across the Wirral. My teach consistently at an outstanding level which has been supported by observations and reviews from senior staff.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe my selling point is my knowledge of the requirements to meet individual target grades at GCSE. I enjoy teaching all levels and abilities. I like to think as I am fresh out of university I am able to relate the learning to the pupils and teach them methods and strategies to help them retain and overcome challenges.

I am patient, persistent and most of all dedicated. I believe you learn the most when you are enjoying yourself and its that attitude and approach I bring to a learning environment.

Personal Description:
I'm a native Italian. I've been living in England for the last 7 years, I love languages and teaching. I studied Finance & Economy with foreign Languages ( English, French and German).

My professional ambition is to contribute to the promotion of Italian culture: teaching my native language is the way that suits me better in reaching this goal! :)I also possess an English (IELTS 7.0 with 8 in speaking), French and German.

Either if you're planning a holiday to Italy, are simply passionate about the language or need to prepare for an exam, all my knowledge will be at your service! :) I'm also available for translating and interpreting.

Teaching Experience:

I come from a family of teachers! While I was in Italy I taught English to many people on a regular basis. Apart from that I have always taught English to foreign students ( it' around 11 years now! ): this has improved my deep understanding of grammar...so that common mistakes can be avoided.

I also taught Italian for 6 years now, I do translations for newspapers, magazines and books on a daily basis.I have a broad field of experience in:

-Tourism
-Art & History
-Economy
-Finance
-Medicine
-Engineering
-Sustainability

I have prepared A levels, As, IELTS students in the past and I have a full DBS(CRB) check.

So if you're aspiring to learn or improve your language for your job, you've definitely come to the right place!

Last but not least, I will ensure whatever your level is you will be able to speak and understand the language as never before! I'm aiming to do that in the shortest time possible as your time is very important. :)

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to consider each student as unique and aim to understand their goals and ambitions as well as optimizing my teaching method to suit their individual needs.

I believe that an important part of learning a new language is to understand and embrace the culture as well.

I usually start my program with a short test to check "Your Learning Method" (this test is applied in the most famous and important schools of language all around the world)

Everybody is different! :) there are people who learn with games, others who learn just listening, others who love writing to remember and people who learn visualizing or listening to music.... Whichever your method is, let's learn with fun!

Each Student will benefit from a Personalized learning plan.

Personal Description:
If you're looking for either practical training, or simply looking for a creative outlet that perhaps your day to day doesn't allow, I would be delighted to offer you lessons!

Teaching Experience:

Cambridge educated, I'm a professional painter and illustrator (see rebeccabright.co.uk for examples!), and have extensive experience tutoring; from young children right through to adults looking to explore new skills - both in art and in English (literature & foregin language).

I'm a big believer that there is no such thing as someone who 'can't draw or paint' - it's simply about gaining the confidence to explore different styles and find what feels good for you.

Tutoring Approach:

Very much about you - lessons should be the part of the week you look forward to, so while it's about growing and honing your skills, it's also about doing it in a way that you enjoy and relish, and will put to practise time and time again.

We'll experiment in different media and different styles, challenging what you know and like and breaking new ground.

Personal Description:
I am a current Psychology MSc student. I love learning, but I haven't always felt that way. I currently read one book a week, while not so long ago as a student I truly hated reading. I had a tough time with developing relevant skills, procrastination and a very limited mindset while studying for my A Levels. This resulted in many set backs, high stress and low motivation. However, I learned something that has completely transformed my life in every way. I am determined to share this with others, which is why I love working with young people.

While attempting to find a solution to my 'student problems' I developed a fascination with the human brain. I read extensively on the topics of psychology, neuroscience and learning. The knowledge and tools that I have discovered has helped me to overcome many issues that most students face daily. For this reason I have spent the last 5 years mentoring and coaching students of various ages, to empower them and motivate them to enjoy learning as much as I do.

I am interested in politics, mental health, psychology, nutrition, metaphysics and many more.

My hobbies are yoga, meditation and reading. I also volunteer as a Mentor to a young adult.

Teaching Experience:

In my current role as an Academic Learning Coach at a sixth form college I design and teach study skills workshops, lessons and support students one to one. With over 2 years spent researching how the brain learns, I teach using evidence based methods and share all my knowledge about the brain with the students. I have taught over 800 students in the last year and worked with 100s of students one to one.

As a Student Ambassador at the University of Sheffield I have over 2 years of experience teaching study skills workshops.

I have one year of experience tutoring/mentoring GCSE students in a school setting.

I have one year of experience of Mentoring A Level students in Philosophy and Ethics.

I have 2 months of experience teaching English as foreign language.

Tutoring Approach:

Through my work with 100s of students I have developed a holistic approach to identifying and addressing individual needs of every student. I have created an extensive assessment form and a range of reflective activities to get to know the young person, what motivates them and what stops them from achieving their goals.

During an initial assessment I identify the young persons mindset, confidence, study skills, writing skills, thinking skills, stress management skills, organisation skills, exam skills, goal setting skills and personal development skills.

After an assessment we decide on the type and number of sessions. I then work systematically through each area using coaching and mentoring techniques. There will be a small task for a student to complete after each session.

Often it might be beneficial to work together with a parent during certain sessions.

Personal Description:
Currently studying chemical engineering at University of Birmingham. I have lots of industry experience with work experience at EDF energy, BP and a gap year placement at Procter & Gamble

Teaching Experience:

Whilst at school I was a leading member of the Maths workshop in which I helped younger students with any problems they might have had. This varied from simple trigonometry pre GCSE, to complex algebra and mechanics at A Level.

Tutoring Approach:

I try to be informal and relaxed, but in return I expect that the student is focused and ready to learn. I aim to keep the student engaged with what I am teaching, but equally I try to mix it up to prevent there being any distractions.
