Teaching Experience:

At present, I work as a Senior Teaching Associate in Mechatronics Engineering at a leading UK University. However, I have been working as a private/personal tutor for the past ten years, helping students at three main levels: A-levels, Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. I also offer part-time lectures on Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, Aerodynamics, Solid Body Mechanics (Statics + Dynamics) and Mathematics at Universities.

The current charge of 70/hour is only applicable for students who approach me within a limited period of time. My tutoring charge generally varies from 100/hour to 200/hour. Yes, I am a relatively expensive tutor, but I have a proven track record of excellent outcomes, unmatched by any other tutor/teacher/lecturer. In fact, I have made students who were failing their degree studies become university toppers (references can be provided upon request).

Tutoring Approach:

I approach students in many ways, however, this depends on the student's character, his learning abilities and how well he knows the subject. I would always be very friendly with the tutee and get to know where he/she stands in the subject(s). There will a faster rate of teaching with regular homework given to students to ensure that they understand what they will be taught. As the exams approach it will be a matter of fast track revision, and working through past-papers in like marking schemes. I strongly believe that this would increase the student's ability and confidence, and thus leading to better performance in their examinations. In short, good results would be assured for students with genuine interest in their studies.

My name is Marc and I teach self defence moves/techniques that work under fear induced situations, are natural movements using body mechanics and can been taught in a short space of time. I teach the best tried and tested self defence methods that can be incorporated into existing disciplines or used solely to enable individuals to successful defend themselves.
I was a boxer for 10 years with 2 of them being at a professional level.
As well as being a Self Defence Instructor, I am also a Service Delivery Manager, Parent Governor, recurve Archer, Records/Tournaments officer for Archery club, devoted Husband and Father or 2 beautiful daughters.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching Natural Self Defence for 6 years on a one to one basis or in groups of 2 to 20 people. I offer to train people, 1-2-1 or in small groups, in their own homes so traveling to my course is not a problem. I have been a Manager within I.T for 22 years where I have had to teach all levels of personnel (from engineers to senior executives). Training includes technical, managerial, financial, procedural and personal development e.g. confidence building, goal setting, assertiveness and career progression.

Tutoring Approach:

I use handouts to enable people to take notes at particular sections of the training and also encourage open discussions on techniques, moves and legal implications of our actions. Each move is explained in detail and reasons why particular approaches are recommended.
Each week the previous weeks instructions are gone through and discussed in case a question has been thought of between sessions.
I encourage note taking whilst training to ensure the moves are not only phyiscally carried out/remembered but also mentally committed to memory.

I am a native speaker of Turkish. I've been living in England since 1997 and completed my Computer Science degree in 2006 at Aston University / Birmingham. For my final year project I developed computer program to translate between Turkish and English. The program was build using a dictionary, set of rules listed in a pattern and a logic to extract meaning using the dictionary and the pattern. Turkish is morphologically a complex language. However complexity can be simplified by learning the patterns, and then enjoy making sentences using logic. I find learning a language exciting myself and after my degree started to learn German. Through listening to cd's of Michael Thomas. It was fascinating to see that he was using the same technique to teach couple of his students. During the learning process it was their logic that was being challenged more than their memory of words and phrases. I think it is ok to 'cheat' and look up words that you don't remember. Once you start making sentences using particular words and you are comfortable with the sentence you will also remember the word due to the pattern you have built in your mind. Regardless of our individual learning styles, I think building patterns is a more permanent and easy way of learning than trying to memorise everything.

Teaching Experience:

I ve been giving private tuition in Birmingham, and now I would like to continue this in Bournemouth. I am currently doing a research about effective ways of teaching Turkish. I am interested in teaching Turkish because I enjoy teaching, also the experience will support my project. My ultimate aim is to write and record my own teaching materials for learning Turkish

I developed my interest in languages through my degree. I am competent in teaching, and I will adopt my technique based on the individual's learning style. Most native English speaking people in the UK finds agglutinative languages difficult to comprehend, as they attempt to 'understand' by comparing them with their own or some other European language. I gained Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) in 1987. Since then I have worked in both High School teaching Physics and in Primary School as a class teacher. I'm Karis, a 21 year old university graduate just looking to help out wherever I can. I have worked with children and young people since mid-secondary school coaching sports. I'm a hard-working, results-driven, positive individual interested in working with children and young people as it wasn't long ago I was in their exact position in GCSE and A-Level. After leaving 6th form I continued going in to primary schools with my secondary school teacher, assisting her in leading sessions for the children.
During university, I completed work placements working as a teaching assistant in London.
I also worked on a project for university in taking sports and nutrition in to primary schools to relieve teachers of their PE lessons.

Tutoring Approach:

I try to be as easy-going and laid-back as I can be in my approach, I listen to what the child has to say and I help them and try to ease their knowledge out of them with a variety of questions. Its a self-discovery/self-guided approach using Mosston's Spectrum of teaching. For example, I'd ask them questions based on a particular topic or question they need to be able to answer, which leads them to figure out the correct answers themselves, etc. Not only will I use a self-discovery route, but when necessary I'd provide information and knowledge that I know in order to help them achieve their potential.

I am a professional, conservatoire trained, theatre director, drama and LAMDA teacher based in London. My greatest strengths are my creativity on stage, ability to manage and communicate with people and to generally be an effective leader of different age groups, from Age 5 to Age 65.

My theatre voyage stydying MFA Theatre Directing at East 15 Acting School provided Jacques Lecoq puppet, clown and physical training and core modules examining Shakespeare, musical theatre, opera, comedy, contemporary British writing and actor training which has informed my practice as a teacher and director.

A huge part of my study was on theatre of the East, where I visited Bali, Indonesia for one term to study at Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI Denpasar). Here I had intensive training on forms such as Topeng Masked Dance, Legong Dance, Wayang Kulit and an introduction to Balinese Hinduism and performance cultures along with the opportunity to collaborate with actors, directors and filmmakers, and world-famous industry professionals.

I believe my administrative experience, my sales and marketing capabilities, together with my teaching and theatre qualifications with a healthy dose of imagination and a playful nature have all added to my effectiveness as an director, accomplished administrator, communicator and good all rounder.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked consistently in London theatres and in schools over the last 7 years and most recently have been working as the Artistic Director of Fusion Theatre Company, a company I founded, developing shows, workshops, education packs and training programs for pupils and teachers linking with National Curriculum Topics in order to utilise drama as a tool for learning. Most recently I have set up a LAMDA training section of the company, offering group sessions, duologue and monologue sessions for primary and secondary school.

Although I do the majority of my work within Theatre in Education and drama training, I also am currently the Associate Director of Maverick Theatre, whos mandate is to create reimaginations of classic literature in unexpected places.

Prior to setting up my own company, I was an assistant director, teaching assistant and technical operator at Trent College, for a number of shows, abridging and cutting scripts, marketing the school's productions, organising the shared diary and assisting with general curriculum work, organising year 9 classes and office administration. During that time I also worked as a LAMDA teacher with 14 students of my own, all of whom successfully achieved Grades 2 and 3 at the end of the summer term. During my second year I was given the opportunity to direct my own productions, as well as a substantial pay increase. I directed a sixth form production of "Two" by Jim Cartwright, followed by The Sixth Form Review [a comedy sketch show], a production of "Shakers" by John Godber, and a production of "Equus" by Peter Shaffer, and finally an outdoor theatre production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" with a year 7 group. Two years of hands-on experience in education taught me the fundamental rules of theatre, production, discipline and how to motivate others to give their best performance.

Theatre plays a vital role in education to nurture and create opportunities for young people, using the arts as a vehicle to understand the world they live in and the people they are as well as develop crucial life skills. I believe that the most effective way to learn is through theatre and performance and because of this I have an incredible love for youth theatre and working with children and find it extremely rewarding.

Since my study, I have been doing workshops and acting courses with students from University upwards. Whether it be a specific genre of theatre or audition pieces.

My approach to tutoring is completely guided by the person I am working with. My natural instincts as a teacher are to get the student to relate to the material as well as they can by giving them something to compare it with in their own life. As a student of LAMDA since age five and from my extensive experience as a tutor throughout my career I discovered that by adopting a personal approach to teaching and mentoring, identifying the individual strengths of each student, and harnessing and working with those strengths, I was able to yield some incredible results not just within primary and secondary school but utilising this practice for all ages.

I am a passionate photographer with 25 years experience based in York, North Yorkshire. I specialise in portraits, documentary, editorial and event photography. I try to evoke and capture a mood within my pictures, a feeling a unique moment, creating images that have impact. I love to work with people, and I like to be able to build up a close rapport with all the clients that I work with.

Teaching Experience:

I hold a Further and Adult Education teaching certificate, I taught on the Access to Photography, at Newcastle College. There I identified individual learning needs, facilitated learning through presentations, activities, instruction and demonstrations. I designed and developed training sessions, assessed student performance, and evaluated training and development for students of all ages.

I have continued to develop my teaching and training working with primary level children in Photography, web design, animation and multimedia. I also teach photography workshops to all levels and am currently teaching on a individual basis , one to one.

Tutoring Approach:

I really value being able to pass on the knowledge that I have gained and thoroughly enjoy the challenges of teaching and the pleasure and joy that someone has when they have understood that knowledge and are able to then put that into practice. I am a qualified Mathematics teacher currently working as a full time teacher. I am available during weekdays

I am a patient and motivating teacher. I have helped many young learners to achieve great results in Maths.

Teaching Experience:

As mentioned above, I am a qualified teacher. Apart from my full time job as a teacher, I take private tuition for children from year 5 to GCSE. I have 6 years of private tutoring experience.

I use a variety of approaches whilst tutoring. It varies from pure problem solving, questioning, activities, Bingo Maths, Treasure hunt etc.

Tutoring Approach:

Being a Maths teacher, I strongly believe that one cannot excel in Maths without a strong foundation of basic Maths skills. My main focus area would be to give a clear understanding of the basics of each topic.

In order to identify the weaker areas, I conduct an initial assessment. I plan lessons based on the result of the Initial assessment.
I am a strong believer of extended work. Hence each learner will be given homework.
Practicing exam style questions is very important to achieve better results in exams and moving ahead in class sets. I give importance to homework and exam style questions.
