Personal Description:
My name is Lesley and I am a secondary school teacher. I live in Norwich with my daughter, a daft dog, three cats and some fish! As well as teaching in a local school I offer one-to-one tuition in English, History, study skills or basic literacy. Students can learn new topics, or get extra help with difficult subjects, in a relaxed and friendly environment. I can travel to your home and will bring along all the books and resources needed! I will charge a small additional mileage fee for journeys over five miles (35p per mile).

In my spare time I enjoy reading, going for long walks with my dog, watching films and going to see local bands.

Teaching Experience:

I am a qualified Secondary School Teacher (PGCE[M]), with additional experience in working with students of all ages from three to adult. I have taught across a range of subjects. I currently teach English to GCSE and History to A Level locally, but have previously worked with both primary and secondary school children on literacy projects to improve reading and writing skills.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a friendly and relaxed teaching manner which works well with all ages. I aim to engage students by teaching all subjects using a range of visual, audio and kinaesthetic approaches alongside more traditional teaching methods. I really enjoy both the subjects I teach and hopefully communicate this enthusiasm to my students. I will discuss learning goals with the student themselves, as well as parents, during the initial session, and will assess progress on a regular basis.

As well as teaching history and English, I also offer a short (three session) course in study skills to help students prepare for exams. I will work with students on a range of revision and memory techniques, as well as effective exam skills, to improve exam performance.

Personal Description:
I enjoy reading, walking and I like to keep fit and active. I am constantly wanting to learn new things and develop myself academically.

I thoroughly enjoy teaching and being with students who are wanting to learn and keen to do well. Conversely, I enjoy a challenge and enjoy teaching those who aren't as willing to pursue and achieve their goals. I have the ability to work well with a variety of people and furthermore, the ability to remain calm in a pressured environment. I am seen as a likeable and Honest person who is hard working and believes good tutoring begins with the child.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught in a Special Needs School for five years as the head of English. I taught English to a range of ages from eight to sixteen years of age. I tutored a high school student one evening a week during her final GCSE year and she has achieved a GCSE in English as a result and more recently I have tutored a student who no longer attended school who required my services for a few hours during the week to complete her GCSE in English and she also achieved a GCSE in English as a result. I am currently tutoring English and Maths to a year three and a year five and Maths to a year six student.

Tutoring Approach:

As with all teaching I believe good tutoring begins with the child and the confidence the tutor instills within the child to achieve the best. Its about working with the knowledge, skills and attitude they already possess and nurturing these. I believe that all children learn in different ways and ensure that the needs of visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learners are met.

Personal Description:
I have studied with the Open University for the six years specialising in Languages. My degree consists of French, English language and Linguistics, Mandarin Chinese and Spanish of which I graduated with a degree with 2.1 honours

I am so passionate about languages and think that they are a very important to our personal and professional development. Being able to speak even a few phrases in a foreign language can really help to enhance any trip abroad whether it be for business or pleasure whilst providing the chance to open so many doors.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught French and English to a 4 year old child and covered the basics such as colours and numbers. I have also tutored a few students in British Sign Language in preparation for their exams. In addition, I have coached students through different exams, including French and English

I am currently tutoring English as a Foreign Language via Skype. We have been working together since September and have been working on his pronunciation, speaking skills, comprehension and listening.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring comprises of friendliness and patience. Having studied at home for my degree, I understand the importance of a structured and warm learning environment. My motto has always been "There is no such thing as a stupid question". If you do not know the answer then the only way to find the answer out is to ask the question, whether it is for the first or tenth time. As I am so passionate about French and English along with reading and writing skills, I feel that lessons with me will be a positive, exciting and worthwhile experience.

Personal Description:
I am currently an Engineering Masters student at the University of Warwick, having just completed my 3rd year of the Bachelors course, for which I have obtained a 1st class with honours overall. Apart from that I can also teach Physics, Maths and English up to A-Level, having achieved good grades in these subjects myself.
I really enjoy helping people do well, and would relish the chance to do so. I delight in having the best friends in the world and can't wait for the road trip in Botswana I'm taking with them soon.

Teaching Experience:

I have only taught on an ad-hoc basis, to GCSE classes as a STEM ambassador (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) and on a personal level teaching A-level Maths and Physics to my brother, who is achieving straight A's. Along with STEM I am also a Bloodhound SSC ambassador, which uses the new land speed record attempt and the challenges involved to make science learning more interesting and relevant to the real world, rather than some numbers on a paper.

Tutoring Approach:

I take a relaxed approach whilst gradually building up knowledge wherever possible, but also directing the knowledge to good exam and technique which I am now well practiced in. Learning should be fun and imaginative, which is why I personally try to bring enthusiasm to the table and prepare meticulously so that I am in the best position to help. I strive to hone my interpersonal skills and communicative ability so that I can recognise the strengths of each person, so that their strengths can be used to vanquish any weaknesses.

Personal Description:
I am a 27 year old Mathematics Teacher who has had excellent teaching experience. I am a graduate from the Univeristy of Warwick and I have completed an MA in Education

Teaching Experience:

I have been a Mathematics Teacher for four years with students ages 11-18. I have taught GCSE Mathematics and A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics.

Tutoring Approach:

I am happy to be flexible in my tutoring approach, I am enthusiastic about encouraging students to excel in mathematics in areas they enjoy and areas which may be proving tricky at the time. Neither area should be neglected and this is a challenge I would accept alongside my tutee.
The starting point would be taking in both positive comments and concerns, from which to decide on a plan of action with my tutee based on period of time allocated.
I would draw on the wide range of resources I have available based on the needs of the tutee.

Personal Description:
My name is Ryan and I am currently in my fourth year of undergraduate medical training at Barts Medical School. I have also just completed an educational degree based around medicine. I am very passionate about teaching and I hope this translates into my lessons.

My general area of interest is in the sciences, in particular biology. I have A-grades in biology, chemistry, and maths at A-level and A* in all sciences at GCSE level.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught extensively throughout this year in a variety of formats including one-to-one sessions, lecturing, and class teaching. I have spent this year studying the science and psychology behind teaching and learning and I can therefore back-up my teaching techniques with extensive evidence. I have helped struggling students on the course to improve and achieve their aims.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to take an interactive approach to tutoring with the student engaged at all times - This method aims to reduce 'spoon-feeding' information as much as possible and ensures active understanding of the taught material. This also has the benefit of being more fun for the student and is a much more powerful method of learning.

Creating an atmosphere where the student feels comfortable to ask questions and converse is very important to me .

Teaching Experience:

Tutoring Experience: Teacher of Drama, workshop leader for Northamptonshire County Council since 2007. Personal Description:
I am an enthusiastic and highly-motivated teacher of Italian specialized in Adult Education, with experience in teaching as well as developing syllabi, conducting assessments and administering different levels of linguistic competence.

I've gained extensive experience in dealing with various types of learners, coming from different backgrounds and speaking different mother tongues and my attention has always been focused on learners' linguistic motivations and needs, throughout the entire process of learning and acquisition.

I'm passionate about my job and about Italian language and culture and I've always been focused on sharing and instilling this passion onto my students, guiding them through an enjoyable tour of the Italian world and helping them in dealing with the difficulties they might find.

My five years experience, both in Italy and in Scotland, as private tutor and teacher in a class, has allowed me to develop a deep knowledge of didactic approaches and methods, but I always seek opportunities to augment my knowledge.

Teaching Experience:

I have a 5 years experience in teaching both in Italy and in Scotland.
I've worked with non-EU adults in Italy, teaching Italian as a Second Language and I had to deal with people coming from different countries and backgrounds and speaking different mother tongues.
