My associates can also help you with English/French/Chinese/Italian to Russian translation and interpreting.

My recent students' testimonials say:

I've been learning Russian for over two years now and I've tried out a number of different Russian teachers from different companies. I can say that, without a doubt, Ignaty Dyakov has been by far the most outstanding teacher. His lessons are professional and extremely fun at the same time thanks to his friendly nature and good sense of humour. Most importantly - for me at least - he will immediately hone in on any problems you have and help you solve them (often without you even realising!). Ignaty is knowledgeable and very well informed about Russian culture; the Russian I have learned with Ignaty has always been accompanied by interesting cultural insights. Finally, I am always surprised at how impeccably punctual Ignaty is given the horrors of the London transport system!
- Richard P.

Ignaty is an excellent tutor of Russian language with very professional approach. He makes every lesson very interesting, bringing his sense of humour and outlook on the topics discussed in conversations. On a personal level I have found Ignaty is very diligent, reliable, willing to help and assist with founding out any information related to learning Russian language or exploring the Russian culture, art or ways of living. Ignaty has been an absolute pleasure to deal with right from my initial email to discuss my lessons till current date and I have no hesitation in recommending him to any individual or company who is interested in learning Russian language.
- Martina

I have been having private Russian Tuition from Ignaty for a period of 4 months during which I received outstanding education from a highly qualified, intelligent and pleasant individual. The lessons were result focussed, fun and interesting. Besides learning the language itself, I also learned a lot about the actual Russian culture. I can highly recommend these language courses to anyone who requires to be conversational in the Russian language in a short period of time.
-Peter

Taking this course with Ignaty has provided me with excellent grounding in the language and has been a highlight of the last couple of months. He has the patience of a saint (!) and is exceptionally knowledgeable. It's incredibly helpful that Ignaty has such extensive multi-lingual capabilities. His enthusiasm and knowledge has inspired me to explore the Russian culture further to the extent that my next holiday is being spent in St Petersburg. Thanks Ignaty!
- Mags

Personal Description:
I offer a one-to-one tuition service to AS/A-Level/degree-level students in English Literature. I am a patient, friendly person who can inspire and motivate students to achieve their goals. I can offer:

A planned programme of in-depth reading & textual analysis sessions to help understand texts thoroughly
Exam coaching and testing
Advice and written feedback on drafts of coursework/essays/dissertations

I am not a traditional secondary-school teacher. I wrote a PhD in English Literature at King's College London (1998-2003) and I have taught graduate-level students at KCL and Royal Holloway. I can offer an independent and adult approach to learning English. I like the challenge of making the subject interesting and engaging for those students who are struggling to see the relevance of reading books from 200 or 300, or even 400 years ago.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience as a graduate tutor (KCL and Royal Holloway, London) and one year's experience working as a private tutor. I also work as a freelance writer, editor and a personal assistant.

Tutoring Approach:

I try to treat each student as an individual. In an initial consultation, I like to get to know my student, to discover their interests, their personality and their job/career aspirations. I try to discover as much as possible about my student's previous learning and teaching experiences. I encourage them to self-reflect on what it is they find most difficult in studying English. I take a very structured approach to lessons, taking into consideration levels of ability. I set small achievable specific tasks and questions (for example about topics/themes/questions that will arise in an exam paper). I think it is important to give my students the basic knowledge and skills they need, but then also to stretch their intellectual capacity by exposing them to more challenging ideas and material. Above all, I am tutor who is also a learner. There are no 'right' or 'wrong' answers in studying English. But the ability to write a cogent and supported argument in an exam essay is achievable with effort and practice.

Personal Description:
I am an Economics graduate from Liverpool University and currently teach part-time in a good secondary school. I also tutor economics and business studies students and own two online businesses. Prior to teaching I worked in advertising for 10 years. I live in Bristol, am married with 3 young children and I am passionate about helping young people achieve their potential.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching Economics and Business Studies in state schools for 9 years. I have taught both A Level and GCSE students. My students have consistently over-performed - for example over 75% of Economics students have achieved A*-B in every year I have taught. As well as teaching larger groups of students, I have also helped many on a one-to-one basis, providing significant added-value and a marked improvement in their performance. All students I tutored in 2014 improved at least one grade since I started working with them, with several improving by 3 or more grades. For example, one recent A2 Economics student went from a grade E in his January mock exam to an A* overall in June, whilst another A2 student went from a grade B to a grade A overall and achieved 100% on an AS resit paper. I am an experienced Economics examiner and am familiar with all the major exam boards. I can supply references on request and I have a current CRB.

Tutoring Approach:

I will always begin by discussing my tutee's individual requirements and areas of the syllabus they would like to focus on. Once these have been established, I usually start with a return to basics, teaching economic or business theory that may not have been fully understood by the student. Once they are comfortable with the concepts, I will look to build in higher order analytical and evaluation skills as well as providing real world examples. I will use a variety of teaching methods to stretch students, backed up with exam technique by practising past papers. I am happy to teach face to face for local students, however I often teach online via Skype, using a whiteboard facility, which my students can also access. This makes the sessions as interactive as meeting face to face and it also means I can tutor students who don't live in Bristol. I always encourage students to provide feedback so that they receive maximum benefit from their teaching.

Below are some testimonials from current and recent students:

"Matt only got an E grade in his February A2 mock exam and the school predicted he would get a C grade at A2. With the significant assistance from Ian, Matt achieved an A* at A2. In his other two A levels, Matt achieved Bs (he also had tutors for these). There are several reasons why Ian made the difference: 1.Being taught on Skype. Matt was initially very apprehensive about being taught on Skype rather than in person. But Skype proved really beneficial. Firstly it enabled Matt to fit in tuition at times that would just not have been possible if travel had been involved. Secondly it enabled Matt to have additional lessons when he had spare time. 2. Focussing on how to structure essay answers. The school just didn't put anywhere near enough emphasis on this crucial area. 3. Essay marking. A key aspect of A2 is exam practice. We paid Ian for essay marking which meant that Matt was effectively maximising his time with Ian. 4. Not accepting mediocrity. The school said that Matt should not retake his AS exams as he had a good B grade. Ian said he should retake as he could do better. 5. Providing positive encouragement. Matt has always lacked belief in himself and Ian gave Matt the confidence that he could achieve a good result.
We would strongly recommend Ian as an Economics tutor" Mr P - South Gloucestershire

"Ian is an incredible tutor, who can prepare you not only for the Economics lessons, but also for the A levels exam. Before came to him, I struggled to understand Economics and was predicted a C. However, Ian helped me to understand all the economic concepts and theories, using up to date examples and YouTube videos and I achieved a grade A at AS level. Half of the lessons I had were via Skype since I was abroad that time. That's why I would especially recommend Ian for those students, who don't have the opportunity to come to his home. On the whole Ian is a brilliant Economics teacher, who will definitely help you to succeed in the subject" Miss B - Bristol and Russia

"Ian is a friendly and helpful tutor. He is punctual for his lessons and flexible with his timings. My son retook his EC2 paper in January 2013 and secured 100% after getting tutored from Ian. This is an improvement from a grade B prior to Ian's tutoring. Ian helped my son tremendously in his exam technique and boosted my son's confidence in the subject and the ways to approach his exams. My son was able to achieve 100% only because of Ian's teaching and from his dedicated effort. I would easily recommend Ian to anyone needing a tutor." Mrs D - Swansea

"Ian started tutoring me in late September and since then my Economics results have improved and I achieved an A grade in my final A2 exams. I have found Ian a very helpful tutor who is more than willing to go through my questions. We go through essays and past paper questions which aid my understanding and confidence in Economics topics. Ian taught me online and I found that Skype was highly convenient in allowing me to not have to travel to Ian" Mr B - Chepstow

"I contacted Ian since I felt that I needed help in understanding the context and concepts involved. Ian style of working was particularly effective. He helped me to improve my understanding of the subject matter by logical explanation and by building from basic principles to a more sophisticated awareness of the subject. Ian was always very patient and sympathetic to my learning needs. He was well prepared for our sessions, and always set me work to do independently as well. As a result of Ian's support I feel that my capability in Economics increased significantly. When I started working with Ian I was achieving at around a grade C. As a result of Ian's support I achieved an overall grade B at AS, the actual grades for the 2 papers were an A and a B. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Ian and would happily recommend Ian as a tutor for Economics. I will be continuing to have him as a tutor through my A2 course" Miss B - Redland, Bristol

"My son initially struggled with the subject gaining an E grade in his mock exams but with Ian's help he managed a grade B in his AS level and attained an A grade in both A2 papers. This was a huge improvement over the two years and I doubt it would have been possible without Ian's help, both with weekly tutoring and the all important pre exam revision days. Ian's approach was personalised and intensive and my son's needs we're concentrated upon fully. Ian was always punctual and organised and struck up a good relationship with the whole family. I would happily recommend him." Mrs W - Redland, Bristol

Personal Description:
Hello! My name is Sibylle and I am a native German beginning to study International Business and Modern Languages up to Masters Level at the University of Strathclyde. I am very enthusiastic about learning languages as I believe that they do not only help people to understand each other better but also provide the learner with a deeper understanding of the culture. I am a hardworking student and love to put effort into my work. I gained an Abitur with an overall mark of 1.1 (equivalent to 40.5 IB points/ A*A*A), while also doing language certificates for my studied Languages English (CAE - Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English & TOEFL) and French (DELF B1 and B2).
I knew very early that I wanted to study in Scotland as the country itself fascinates me as well as its friendly and welcoming inhabitants. I would love to help a student who wants to acquire a good level of spoken and written German as well as getting more self-confident.

My personal hobbies involve reading, current affairs as well as going out and meeting new people.

Teaching Experience:

During my time at school I continuously taught pupils who needed help with either English, German or French. I have been teaching younger students for 6 years now and all of my tutees gained better marks and seemed to fully reach their potential.
I was often recommended by my teachers as I was often successful with my tutees and they reported to enjoy learning with me.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that a strong knowledge of Grammar is essential for the use of a language. Especially German can be very difficult if failing to recognize the famous "Fälle" (cases) as well as the different verb forms. I like to work in an informal environment to build up a very friendly and familiar atmosphere with a tutee that makes him/her feel at ease with me and encourages him to come up with own ideas.
Being proficient does not only involve understanding a language but also being able to speak the language, as well as being able to write a coherent text on your own and being capable of organising thoughts in the foreign language. This is what I aim to reach with a potential tutee.

Personal Description:
I am a Cambridge graduate and a full-time, professional tutor with a friendly approach to tutoring, placing emphasis on confidence-building as well as knowledge attainment.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring at varying levels, from 11+ to University, for nearly three years, and am now a full-time tutor working for agencies, institutions, local authorities and private clients. Most of this work has been preparation for a particular exam, although I have also had students who are studying just for the enjoyment of it. I feel well-suited to being 'on the other end' of the one-to-one style of teaching that I benefited from at university.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is friendly and informal. I prefer to let the tutee dictate the pace of a session by encouraging them to interrupt or ask me to repeat when we hit upon work they are not fully understanding.

I have found that the most efficient use of a tutoring session is for me to first outline the theory of what we are going to study in that session to the student, and then use the remainder of the time to work through questions with the student as they become progressively more comfortable with the content until, ultimately, they feel able to answer the questions alone.

The content of the sessions is always tailored to the particular qualification the student is working towards, and the student has complete autonomy over what we study together.

Personal Description:
From my experience in the classroom I realise that many students benefit from much more individual help than school can provide. I enjoy being able to help students on a one-to-one basis as it is very rewarding being able to improve their achievement and confidence.I am very grateful to my students and their parents for the relationships we have struck up, many of which have continued through the years.

Teaching Experience:

I am an English teacher with over 20 years experience teaching to GCSE, A-level and Oxbridge entrance.I have taught in both the independent and state sectors, in a large comprehensive and a small independent school. I have also tutored in Oxford and London for students from 10 to 19.

Tutoring Approach:

One to one or small groups of 2 or 3.

I aim to develop confidence by supporting the students and understanding their needs as a priority. I then encourage them to explore and develop ideas, giving them support while they grow in this. The key is building an excellent relationship in which high expectations enable them to make progress while always supported.

Personal Description:
SAXOPHONE-I am an experienced saxophonist. Currently I play both alto and baritone saxophone. I have taught young pupils at my old school before for free, but now that i have gained enough experience, not just as a teacher but at a very high level in bands too, I am starting to tutor. I teach many different styles, have it be jazz, pop or classical. I offer tuition for students of all ages. Whether you are young and just starting out or older and wish to try something new/different for fun and want some guidance in the right direction, I am here to help. I teach for those at a amateur and beginner level. Music is a great passion of mine and I really enjoy teaching others something so great.

MATHS- I am a higher level maths student and i have an A grade at GCSE level maths. During my free periods i spend time helping lower school student who are struggling with their maths for free because i really enjoy teaching. I teach everything from key stage 1,2 and 3 maths to foundation GCSE students. Maths has always been a great ability of mine and I mainly teach it because I have a love for it and in my experience those who i have taught have found me very helpful.

Teaching Experience:

SAXOPHONE- I have taught young pupils at my old school before for free to gain some experience in teaching. I also play at a high level in the Hillingdon Music Service concert band and Sax Group, as well as in multiple Jazz and Big Bands.I have been on tour to France with the Music Service as well and have played for weddings too. I now have a good level of experience in both playing and teaching.

MATHS- I have been teaching GCSE and lower level maths for a few years now. I was part of a team who a few years ago went to the UK maths challenge representing my region of London. I enjoy teaching maths and in my experience those who i have taught have found me very useful.

Tutoring Approach:

I find that bringing out the passion in the student is what counts, so for music the genre they enjoy most and helping them fall in love with music that way. With maths i believe having a strategic plan of getting a topic or part of maths that the student is struggling with and keeping at it and doing questions and going through the solutions with them until they understand. I understand that many people struggle with maths or may not like it but i find that someone younger (such as myself) teaching them makes it a lot easier on them. Another good way i find with maths is going through questions and helping them understand how to get to the answer rather than just giving the answer and moving on with a simple tick or cross.

Personal Description:
I am currently in the final year of an Astrophysics PhD at UCL, which I began in 2010. Prior to this I obtained a first class MSci in Physics with Astrophysics at the University of Bristol. I hope to continue in an academic career when I complete my PhD, since I enjoy both teaching and research.

Teaching Experience:

I have two years of experience tutoring students ranging from year 9 up to university level. In addition, I have spent four semesters demonstrating in undergraduate Physics labs at UCL for one afternoon per week. I also have experience marking undergraduate problem sheets and exam papers, which helps me to advise students as to how they should approach their own exam preparation.

Tutoring Approach:

The ultimate goal of my previous students has been to achieve a certain exam grade or to pass an entrance exam. I think the key to preparing for exams in mathematical subjects is practice and so I aim to give students the confidence to answer questions on thier own. My approach to tutoring has therefore been to cover subject matter that the student is perhaps less confident with, before tackling exam-style questions in order to apply what they have learnt.

Hello my name is Philip and I`m a recent graduate from the University of Nottingham. I am a friendly, patient and approachable maths tutor dedicated to helping your children achieve their full academic potential.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring part time for the a few months and am looking to build on that experience. I`m currently completing a TEFL (teach English as a foreign language) course, hoping to eventually combine my love of teaching with traveling.

Tutoring Approach:

Having just left the education system I understand the pressure facing students to achieve high marks. With this in mind I tailor sessions specifically around the student`s needs, building up their confidence by breaking down daunting topics into smaller manageable pieces.

Furthermore, I place a strong emphasis on exam technique ensuring that not only do students fully grasp the material but that they are also able to apply that knowledge within the exams.

I teach a number of different subjects including English, Business Management, Philosophy, Government & Politics and Sociology (plus other social sciences). All levels from GCSE - University. I provide specialist essay/dissertation writing course that has helped many students deal with their academic work to achieve high grades. I have total commitment to excellence. Tuition is delivered in a challenging but supportive environment. The chosen approach in each case reflects individual circumstances of my students: as each student is unique and different, so is my approach to tuition and learning. I place great value on understanding students needs before we start.

Teaching Experience:

I have extensive experience of teaching both at the college and university levels. I have previously lectured at the University of Liverpool and the University of Manchester (Law and Humanities). Alongside this, I also teach (Criminology and Social Sciences) at the University Centre, Blackburn College. I have further served as an External Examiner (Criminology) in the past. I have built extensive knowledge and experience of private tuition over the years with students from a wide range of backgrounds and academic subjects.

This experience helps me to provide a unique teaching experience to enable my students to achieve excellence in their work.

Tutoring Approach:

I firmly believe learning needs to be fun, relaxed and enjoyable but seriously focused on the key outcomes that the learner needs to achieve to make progress with his/her studies. This is the foundation of my approach. It brings the best out of learners. Success is guaranteed. Tuition is delivered in a challenging but supportive environment to drive students towards realizing their full potential

My approach to teaching is relaxed yet suitably focused on the needs of the student and thus student-centred. It's personalised and is not only backed up by extreme dedication and commitment, but designed to bring out the best in the student. The time spent on understanding the student, their learning style and how they perceive their academic challenges is critical to my success. My experience both of the academic and the business worlds has served to support this imaginative approach.

Whether you need an essay plan or model essay/essay writing techniques or long-term tuition to support learning, I offer that. Just contact for a no-obligation exploratory discussion to map out your needs.
