Personal Description:
I am an independent tutor with a strong scientific background and have lived in England since Aug 1965. Most of my school and college education took place in Dudley (West Midlands) and I studied Biochemistry, at Leeds University (1975-8). I am married and have lived in Cheshire since Dec 1978. We have a son and a daughter; both graduated from Universities in Manchester. Following my voluntary redundancy from AstraZeneca, (Jun 2008), I am now a self-employed Tutor / Consultant. In addition, I am able to speak additional languages (Punjabi; studied up to GCE A-level and Hindi) and prepared to travel up to 5 miles. I have been tutoring Yr 7 - 13 students, in Maths and all Science subjects, since Oct 2008. In addition, I have prepared students from Yr 6, for the 11+ exams; frequently used by private schools, as entrance exams. Testimonials / References (from Students and Parents) are available, on request.

Teaching Experience:

During my long service in the Pharma industry (~30 years), I have run many short courses and workshops. During 2005/6, I mentored a pupil (Year 10/11) at St. Peter's High School, Longsight, organised by the University of Manchester. In the past, I have also been responsible for organising and running the weekly classes at the Sikh Temple (Gurdwara), for teaching youngsters the Sikh way of life & Punjabi culture, in helping to improve their knowledge and integration into the Western Society over a period of ten years.

Tutoring Approach:

I can provide tuition to individual students (or small groups) in the form of friendly, relaxed lessons. Teaching sessions are always customised to meet the specific requirement of the students. Generally, I enjoy teaching and considered to have a caring approach. I use a combination of computer and 'white board' based approach, for creating informal interactive / discussion type sessions, with some form of regular tests and re-cap sessions. Closer to the exams, the lessons are much more focused on using past papers covering a wide range of questions, to enable the students increase their confidence in preparation for the examinations.

Personal Description:
In terms of academic qualifications, I have an accountancy and finance background with further specialization (MSc) in Finance and Risk Management. Throughout my educational years, I have been a distinction holder. During my MSc degree in UK as well, I have maintained my academic record. I can not only teach academic subjects but also assist research students in their research work as for the last three years i am working on the dissertations as well as on the coursework for students.

I am teaching for the last 5 years to students who are pursuing accounting and business studies as their career. I also helped students for modules like Human Resource, Project Management, Process Management, Research Methods and e.t.c.
I have done ACCA apart from this i am left with couple of exams of ACA and done CFAB. Apart from this i have also done undergraduate and Postgraduate.
I am doing job since 2008 and also has an experience of working as:
Career Advisor
Course Coordinator
Teacher Assistant
Accountant
Marketing supervisor for marketing campaign in PHILLIP MORRIS INT.

IN ACCA I HAVE THREE WORLD OVER DISTINCTIONS

Teaching Experience:

I have experience of teaching all papers of ACCA even optional level.
I have experience of teaching Corporate Finance to Master level students of Aston University.
I have experience of teaching all the papers of Professional Stage Knowledge Module to ACA students.
I have experience of teaching all the papers of Certified Accounting Technician (CAT).
I also taught the undergraduate and Postgraduate students of Birmingham University, Aston University, Warwick University, Coventry University, Nottingham University, Nottingham Trent University, Birmingham City University, Sheffield University, Wolverhampton University, University of East Anglia, Hull University, Derby University, University of Glasgow and several others.
I have experience of teaching AAT subjects to the students as well as all GCSE and A-Level students .
I am also assisting students with any assignment help they require.

Tutoring Approach:

I think for teaching one has to come to the level of the student and also one must be aware of the requirement of the specific paper with reference to exam I mean exam approach teaching is the best of all. I believe in quality of the lecture not the length of it.

Firstly, the students needs have to be understood and then the tutoring phase will carefully outlined and tutees will be taught according to their needs. Questions will be encouraged throughout the session as these are important for higher understanding.

Personal Description:
I am 36 years old and a mum of two children (4 and 2). I have started giving tuitions when I first arrived in Bristol in 2001 and have not stopped since. I enjoy teaching and take a lot of pride when my students become fluent in French. I enjoy reading, going to the cinema, and anything connected to the French culture (films, books, music, food, fashion etc...).

Teaching Experience:

I have worked as a French assistant for L'ecole Francaise in 2001 and have worked with children, I am also working since 2005 for Cactus Languages and I am actually teaching adults as a self-employed teacher.

Tutoring Approach:

Originally from Paris, I specialise in teaching for the real world of today - fun, informal, slightly irreverent - but practical and above all useful! For your French to be used, you need to become comfortable speaking it, and so to help you develop that confidence I keep lessons flexible and enjoyable. Practicing everyday use in real conversational settings, I'll help you to challenge yourself and achieve your goals. You may not even notice that you're actually "working"!
Whatever your level is, I can help with your French for:

Personal Description:
I am a languages graduate (French & Arabic) from University College London. I studied French and Arabic at university, and have been speaking and learning French academically since the age of 8. I particularly specialise in literature and the spoken language. I completed my A-level in French with a record result of 590/600 UMS marks, achieving a top 5% grade in the United Kingdom.

I have recently returned from a year spent studying abroad, where I spent 5 months in Amman, Jordan developing my spoken Arabic language. I also spent 6 months in Montpellier, France where I undertook a number of university courses to develop my French language further and also to further immerse myself into the French culture.

Teaching Experience:

I have previously been involved in teaching English, Maths and Sciences whilst at school to fellow classmates through a formal "Student Tutor" system up until GCSE grade. I have tutored French GCSE/A-Level students with helping with Oral/Speaking practice as well as literature study sessions.

At University I have been a mentor for a number of years, helping incoming first year students with the transition from school to university and also helping them with the academic difficulties of their courses within the French department.

Tutoring Approach:

When learning a language, it requires a different approach to learning a science. This is something I have developed over learning a language for over 10 years. You can never completely learn a language, it is a constant process. Therefore my approach to teaching it is to first assess what the individual goals are of the student and then map out the logical and realistic path to achieve them within the given timeframe.

Teaching sessions will be planned and will require a degree of preparation from the student to benefit fully from them. Speaking sessions, dependant on the level required, would be structured around the syllabus and would mostly take part in French, however I would strive to push the student to perform slightly above what is generally required, so as to ensure the highest possible grade. With literature sessions, preparation is crucial. Whether a film, a book or poetry, pre reading is essential.

I try to tailor my sessions as much as possible to the individual needs of each student and would be happy to discuss how they would prefer to have the sessions structured to best suit their requirements.

Personal Description:
I am a well humoured and easy going with a keen interest in Art, Craft and Design who likes to keep up to date with the latest trends in many aspects of design from Jewellery to Furniture. I have a bachelors degree in Silversmithing and Metalwork and am currently working towards a masters degree in Education.

Teaching Experience:

I have just completed my forth full time year in teaching mainstream secondary school Design and Technology. I also have 3 years experience teaching A-level Design and Technology at a large sixth form college and GCSE Design and Technology in a Pupil Referral Unit for boys with behaviour difficulties and SEN (including Aspergers, Autism and Dyslexia.) At the Pupil Referral Unit I also began a morning literacy programme to improve the reading skills of students with primary school level abilities to great success. During my teaching training I also worked in a mainstream secondary school and a grammar school. The majority of my tutoring experience is with Primary age students covering 11+ exam entrance including verbal reasoning, english and maths.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a pupil focused tutor who believes that a variety of short, varied activities keeps students focused, productive and able to learn more effectively. My experience with SEN students has made me patient and believe that the key to successful tutoring is being well resourced. I undertake a limited amount of tutees in order to ensure increased availability for my tutees and to ensure that I am focused on the individuals I tutor and their needs. Above all I believe the students need constant positive reinforcement to increase motivation, self belief and therefore success.

Personal Description:
I am a 33 year old maths teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience. I am currently working as vice chairman of a volunteer group. Our aim is to try and save Whiston library from permanent closure and turn it into something that is not just a library but also a community hub where the people of the local area can engage in various community activities. I have wanted to teach from a young age (weirdly!) and see it as a way of giving something back to the local community, as well as having a keen knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject I teach.
I undertook a 3 year teaching degree at Liverpool John Moores University at their IM Marsh Campus in Aigburth between 2000 and 2003 and graduated with a 2:1 with honours in Key Stage 2/3 Mathematics education. My teaching qualification means that I am fully qualified to teach maths between the ages of 11 to 18, in addition to being able to teach upper primary pupils, although it had been nearly 10 years since I last taught in a primary classroom! I also have A Levels in IT, English Language & Literature, Pure Maths & Statistics, General Studies and French in addition to my teaching qualification.

Teaching Experience:

After graduating in 2003, I began my teaching career by doing supply teaching with Select Education (Liverpool), working in a number of short term posts in different schools in Knowsley and Liverpool. I also worked voluntarily for 2 days a week in Prescot Primary school in Knowsley teaching mathematics to a whole class of Year 5 children as well as working with small groups. I also ran booster classes in maths for Year 6 pupils who were Gifted and Talented in the subject (Working towards level 6) in preparation for their National Curriculum tests (SATs).
In September 2004, I began my first full time teaching role at Holly Lodge Girls' College, passing my NQT induction year in the summer of 2005. Between 2005 and 2006, I was given responsibility for creating a transition unit based on government documentation to help Year 7 pupils to settle in to life in secondary school before they were setted in the subject. During my time there, I gained experience of teaching a wide variety of schemes of work (Key Stage 3, Modular GCSE, Coursework, Linear GCSE) and also taught sixth form GCSE resit classes for 2 years. I was also a form tutor for 5 years carrying my form through from Year 7 to Year 11 and participated in the school PSHE programme where I was involved in designing a unit of work for year 7 pupils with regards to financial management and calculations.
I left Holly Lodge in July 2009 due to my father becoming seriously ill and his subsequent death and took a year out of teaching to begin a family history research project before returning to the profession in September 2010 by working for Celsian Education (Liverpool) as a supply. However work was few and far between so by September 2011, I moved to another agency The Education Specialists. But once again work was far from plentiful. In October last year, I joined Our Whiston Library Group (OWL) as a campaigner/volunteer with the initial aim of opening in April 2014 in partnership with Hugh Baird College of Bootle, but they withdrew at the last minute leaving our group to make a bid on our own to take over the building. I became vice chair of the group in October 2014. A copy of my CV is available on request.

Tutoring Approach:

Despite having tutored family members for GCSE and A Level studies in the past, as well as proof reading university assignments for friends and family, I have never registered as a private tutor before. But my aim is to provide the same approach to tutoring as I did in the classroom. A firm but fair approach with an easy going manner and reasonable expectations of what pupils can do. Recent OfSted and media reports have heavily criticised the standards of numeracy and maths teaching in the Knowsley and Liverpool areas. My aim is to give something back to these communities. I am also able to provide tutoring in newly introduced Free Standing Maths Qualifications (FSMQs) such as financial calculations and money management. I also have a vast electronic collection of resources as well as books, at my disposal that I have collected over my teaching career.
My tuition rates are lower than the average due to my main target area of Knowsley (Mainly Prescot and Whiston) being a deprived area. I am prepared to travel to homes, but please be aware that I use public transport and that it is difficult to get to certain areas, in particular after 6/7pm. I can offer tutoring from my house in Whiston and may be prepared to offer online tuition (Via Skpe) in the future.
One of my aims for the Whiston Library project is to use the library as a base for tuition so students would be able to be tutored there as there are study areas and resources such as computers and potentially an interactive whiteboard. All being well, we aim to try to take over the building from Knowsley council in early 2015, so watch this space!

I understand the unique challenges a non-native speaker faces when trying to learn the Chinese. I studied MSc TESOL in University of Edinburgh. So I also can offer 1-1 ESOL classes or group tuition for international clients who wish to improve their English. If you are interested or if you have any questions feel free to email me.
Thanks.

Teaching Experience:

I have done a voluntary year in Edinburgh including offering free weekly informal English classes to internationals. I have studied teaching methodology and theory in University of Edinburgh for 1 year, and would like to keep doing PGDE course in mandarin to be a qualified Chinese teacher in the coming September.

Tutoring Approach:

I shape all of my lessons to uniquely fit each student`s needs and wants and according to their age. I focus on beginner to intermediate levels and also teach corporate groups.

Personal Description:
I am a HCPC registered Practitioner Forensic Psychologist. I have a PsyD in Clinical Forensic Psychology, further degrees obtained include MSc in Forensic Science, and a BSc in Medical Microbiology.
I have experience with writing dissertations and theses, and with research.
My background includes working in both inpatient and outpatient Mental Health Services, with forensic populations, the chronically mental ill, personality disorders, substance use, PTSD, veterans, Comorbid disorders, adults and adolescents (and more).
I have also presented at the IVAT conference in San Diego, California.

Teaching Experience:

I am new to tutoring, but my experience as a psychologist has meant that I have helped individuals (both adult and children) to learn new ways of thinking and problem solving. Furthermore I am able to help people deal with the stress and sense of overwhelm that can occur when learning new material or preparing for an exam.

Tutoring Approach:

I look to find a style that suites the learning needs of my student. We all learn and retain information in various ways, so it is important to work in a way that best allows them to not only retain the information, but to really understand it.
