Personal Description:
I am a first class physics graduate from Lancaster University, now living in York. I am an avid cyclist and due to my background in both applied physics and engineering, I am starting off a business in building bamboo bicycle frames. On top of that I constantly deal with everyday mathematics and physics, so I constantly sharpening my skills in teaching.

Teaching Experience:

I first started tutoring about 2 years ago when I helped my friend's daughter in GCSE physics. The student had trouble understanding the basics behind most of the general physics which the teachers in school go through quickly without realising that everyone has different way of learning. I approached the student with a different point of view and quickly understood her level of understanding. It made me realise that I was in similar situation when I was in school and it was impossible to avoid getting low grades because I received no individual attention from my teacher. I tutored for 6 weeks and her grades went up from D to B. I hope that this information helps parents to understand the difficult situation that some children find themselves in when their learning level is different to others, so outside tutoring always improves confidence and understanding in weak subjects.

Since 2009 I have taught a number of students and remarkably they have all scored better grades after just few lessons. I have taught students who speak different languages and I didn't find it difficult to communicate with them either. Every student is different and I teach every student differently so have never heard a bad review from anyone so far.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is straight forward and simple. I try to understand each student and learn about their weaknesses and strengths early on. This gives me enough information to start with and the student also feels relieved knowing that I understand their difficulties with the subject.

At start I go through problems which the student finds easy to tackle, helping them to build confidence and then slowly I merge difficult problems (different for each individual) into my lessons. This tactic never fails to work as the student is always learning something new starting from the day one.

My explanation of the problems relates to everyday physics and maths that one goes through. Making it simple for the student to understand and relate to. Lastly I am very flexible with time and travel so I am almost always ready to teach.

Personal Description:
Having been born in London I am a native speaker of the English language. I have vast experience with speakers of other languages. I recently decided to make a career change and make teaching English to speakers of other language a professional career. I am CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) qualified. I am also two years into BA (hons) English Language and Literature degree and intend to continue my own personal development by studying for an MA English Language Teaching and Linguistics and by completing the DELTA (Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) as soon as I am eligible.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught to classes of between six and eighteen students whilst training for the CELTA qualification. The students came from a variety of countries including: France, Italy, Turkey, South Korea, Spain, Chile, Colombia, Russia and Poland. I have taught many more personal one-to-one lessons, mainly within the South American community.

Tutoring Approach:

I use a number of different course books for teaching English and try to make the whole experience as relaxed, fun and interactive as possible. This is easier with larger numbers but can be achieved on a one-to-one basis with a little thought and effort. I use audio and visual materials. Each student will have a preferred method of learning and as individuals we are not usually aware of what type of learner we are, for this reason I employ a number of techniques to make the learning experience as beneficial as possible. The techniques I use are: linguistic, logical-mathematical, visual-spatial, bodily-kinaesthetic, musical, inter-personal and intra-personal.

Personal Description:
I am a fully qualified teacher with 7 years' experience teaching at Key Stages 1 and 2 and have been tutoring for the past 2 years. As a current teacher, I am very familiar with current assessment requirements across primary level and have 2 years' experience of tutoring year 6 pupils in mathematics through the government-funded one-to-one tuition scheme.

I have successfully tutored children aged 4-11 in both English and Maths.

In addition to my primary teaching experience, I have a 2.1 degree in German Studies from the University of Warwick and can confidently teach this subject to A-level if required. I have successfully tutored GCSE and A-level students in German, boosting grades by an average of 2 levels (ie. from a C to an A).

Teaching Experience:

Current Year 2 teacher at local primary.
3 years' experience of teaching in upper-Key Stage 2.
2 years' experience of personal tuition (Mathematics - year 6)
Postgraduate Certificate in Education: 2007
TEFL experience - Germany 2004-5

Tutoring Approach:

I like to take a little time to get to know my students and assess their strengths and weaknesses. I encourage the child to identify his or her own areas they think they need to work on.

After an initial introduction, the tuition process is intensive, with plenty of practice and guidance! I am confident in using ICT, where necessary, to illustrate key concepts.

Generally, I have found that an hour per week is sufficient to improve a child's confidence and ability. However, if you feel your child would benefit from more hours' tuition per week, I will be happy to accommodate them.

Personal Description:
I`m a Spanish Teacher (native speaker), my spanish: accent and pronunciation are easy to understand, very clear spanish (Mexico).
No complications, Let`s concentrate on more important aspects.

Be aware of cheap Spanish lessons with inexperienced and improvised tutors, being a native speaker do not make a good teacher. I can assure you, you will learn with me, all this based on teaching techniques, material and drama-method.

My background as an actress taught me to be very social and open minded.
I consider myself as a friendly person and easy going.
I like everything related to learning in general languages, knowledge about diferrent cultures, arts, world cinema, inspiring music, human behavior(Psychology), international food, travelling, yoga, cycling and especially theatre and dance.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught since 2004 in different subjects such as a Spanish, Theatre, Corporal Expression and Arts.
Along my teaching experience I have taught to different cultural institutions, languages schools, private tutoring, including primary, secondary, colleges, universities and cultural centres.

I worked as a teacher for CONACULTA and CONARTE (important government art and cultural institutions in Mexico) since 2004, where I gave various drama workshops/classes across Mexico. As a consequence of this, I obtained
-Recognition as Cultural Promoter and Theatre Teacher to Children.

I have also collaborated with the Mexican Secretary of Public Education, where I provided Primary School teachers with the essential techniques of teaching pupils in the classroom.
Another wonderful experience has been to work with university students teaching theatre classes, as well as planning final spectacles that we presented.

I been teaching Spanish (as a foreign language) in private lessons since 2007, proudly with effective results on my students. I have also worked with Chris Polatch Languages Courses and Elise Languages School.

Qualifications: Licentiate (MA) in Theatre Arts(2:1)
Recognition as Cultural Promoter and Theatre Teacher (National Council of Arts and Culture in Mexico).

LANGUAGES
• Spanish (native speaker)
• English
• Italian (working Knowledge)

Tutoring Approach:

I like to teach in a relax environment.
If you are a begginer, I will help you to learn all the basic, pronunciation, build up your vocabulary.
If you are a intermediate and advance we can work more on conversation and learn more complex structures of the language and conversational practice.
I advice my students to try and make mistakes, that is a principle to learn.

I also combine grammar excercises with listening and some other activities in the class.
And for children my technique is combine Drama and spanish to learn though different activities.

The material I use to our classes are 2 different books (don't worry they aren't expensive).
For children I use only 1 book.

Personal Description:
I am 28 years old and graduated from Leeds University with a 2:1 degree in Spanish Langauge and Literature with an accredited distinction in speaking. I spent a year in Murcia working for the British Council teaching English to Spanish students aged from 11-17. I am passionate about learning and teaching Spanish and I am keen to use my knowledge and experience to enhance other's language skills. I will tailor my classes to work on any areas of weakness to get the most out of my students and rest assured you will receive a high quality yet fun language lesson.

Teaching Experience:

I taught English for a year while working for the British Council in Murcia, Spain. This required me to source interesting material for classes, plan and then teach classes of up to 30 students at a time. As the level of english was low in some years I had to direct the entire class in Spanish and work out the best ways to encourage the children to engage in the English Language.
In addition to the language assistant role I also privately tutored 6 students whilst living in Spain, the ages ranged from 11 to an adult learner and each session was tailored to suit their needs.
Whilst at University I completed a City and Guilds Professional Development Award in Education, this required working on a mentoring programme with a GCSE student and documenting their progess.
I am currently tutoring an A level student, 2 adult learners and a primary school beginner to enhance their speaking skills and I am very keen to work with other students at varying levels.

Tutoring Approach:

I aim to tailor my lessons to suit the learner, I will complete an assessment prior to starting the tutoring and work together with the student to identify potential areas of improvement. I am keen to pass on my Spanish Language knowledge and work with students to improve grammatical accuracy. I take great care and attention in lessons plans and aim to create a fun and positive learning experience.

Personal Description:
Hi I'm Kiran, I'm 22 years old and have recently finished my Postgraduate Degree in 'Psychological Well-Being & Mental Health' with a merit and am currently starting work as a healthcare assistant in a forensic mental health setting. I find myself to be a very dedicated and passionate individual with great love for psychology and how Psychology has the ability to impact everyday of our life.

Teaching Experience:

My tutoring experiences have been vastly voluntarily, through helping out other students in my courses as well as having one-to-one informal tutoring which gave me an opportunity to learn and expand my own desire to teach and help others related to Psychology. Specifically, I have clear knowledge of Psychology examined through the AQA and Edexcel Examination Boards.

Tutoring Approach:

I aim to teach in a relaxed and active manner not only using textbooks, hopefully other inventive ways to get students to appreciate the topics they are being taught. This may include engaging in topics, using examples, activities and evidence to explain topics and hopefully getting students to enjoy learning Psychology as much I as enjoy teaching it.

Personal Description:
I am a graduate entry Medical student at Newcastle University and have a 2:1 Honours degree in Biomedical Sciences and Physiology (BSc) from the University of Aberdeen. The graduate-entry Medicine course is a highly competitive course with only 22 places to over 1100 applicants. I attended school and sixth form in Wales where I did A-levels in biology, chemistry and maths, and I teach A-level biology, and GCSE chemistry, biology and maths.
I also play the violin, which I have played for 15 years and achieved grade 8.
Medicine takes up most of my time, but when I'm not studying I like to play the violin, read, go for walks, and relax with friends.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience in tutoring both face-to-face and online using an online whiteboard. I have been tutoring for a number of years, starting with family and friends during my A-levels, moving on to siblings of friends and then others in local schools via word of mouth. I carried this on when I moved to Aberdeen for my first degree, tutoring students in the local school and college. I have recently moved to Newcastle to start a graduate-entry degree in Medicine. In addition, I have plenty of experience helping students applying for Medicine in personal statement writing and interview preparation. I have also played the violin for 15 years and offer lessons up to grade 5 level.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a very laid-back person, and I like to think I can put people at ease. I love working with young people and feel that you can really get to know a student in a one-to-one teaching environment and therefore tailor your teaching to their learning style, which isn't always possible in the classroom. One-to-one teaching is a much more engaging way to learn and the constant interaction means that the student is far less likely to switch off.
