Personal Description:
I am a native of Italy who has lived in the UK for 22 years and has well adapted to the British system of education, still bringing in some of the flavour of her own mother country in connection with love and curiosity for languages, cultures, and contacts with people and their cultures through the activity of teaching.

Teaching Experience:

I have been in the field of teaching languages (Italian being my special subject) for 21 years and have taught for all these years at all levels: children, GCSE, Highers level, University level, and adult classes both vocational and leasure/tourist.
My qualifications include a ESOL-Celta (Univ. of Cambridge) in teaching English as a Foreign Language to children and adults; a degree in English language and literature, as well as French language and literature; a PhD in Italian Studies. I have had mostly experience of teaching at University level in both language and culture (literature and cinema) in the last 10 years where my teaching ranges from beginners through to advanced level of Italian Language; and all levels of culture tutoring; translation studies.

Tutoring Approach:

Approach to tutoring varies from objective to objective.
Language in my opinion should be taught in a full immersion style, especially when it is targeting groups of people who are doing it for either vocational or personal reasons.
Tutoring of subjects such as languages with an objective such as GCSE or Highers or indeed University exams must take into account the syllabus that students must complete in order to reach their target: i.e. pass exams and, at the same time, learn in an effective though 'unforgettable' way. The majority of classes must be delivered in the target language, however in order to meet timing of syllabus coverage and exams some of the concept must be strengthened in the student's language.
In an ideal world, where no exams or timed targets exist, then tutoring of a language should happen 100% in the target language.

Personal Description:
I am 54 now and consider myself to have reached a point where I have experience to share and yet still enjoy working with the students and helping them to get to their own potential. I am family orientated, considered by my friends and colleagues to be warm and nurturing.

I am passionate about my students reaching their potential, even if their starting point is not deemed to be high by academic standards.

I am used to a wide variety of challenges and opportunites having worked with special needs for many years.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught through all the age ranges starting off as a Internationally Qualified Montessori Teacher, working right through to University level as an accelerated learning practitioner (I trained with Tony Buzan). My core specialism is Dyslexia and Special Needs. I have worked with home schooled children for many years as well as continuing to do regular home tutoring after school hours and some Saturday mornings. I still run Montessori workshops particularly for those involved in homehomeschooling. I am also a Qualified and Insured Naturopath and teach a wide variety of alternative health and well-being workshops, as in my experience, health and well being are directly related to the students ability to learn effectively; so many students who have experienced challenges in assimilating learning often are found to have some form of health or allergy issues. .

Tutoring Approach:

I prefer a holistic style of teaching, using where possibly a multi - sensorial and multi -discipline approach. I believe that a good relationship with the student, which, while still being professional, engenders a sense of trust, caring and belief in the students ability to rise higher than they thought they could. I feel that one has to enable the student to find out where their true base line is through good assessment, then allow them to work on their challenges through the utilization of their strengths. I believe in supporting the student in developing their own, successful and sophisticated learning strategies which are unique to their learning style.
I have a current enhanced DBS certificate and am starting up a Montessori childminding facility.

Personal Description:
I got a bachelor's degree in political sciences and a master's degree in international relations at the University of Cagliari (Italy) with 110/110 as a final grade. My studies, together with the international experience of "Erasmus" in Romania, made me discover many sides of the political mechanisms, the cultures and the economies of different countries and areas of the world.
I reckon myself as a very easygoing and motivated person, always ready to cooperate with the workmates. Enthusiastic about the life and the new experiences, always keen to improve myself specially in the relations with the others.

Teaching Experience:

From 2007, in Italy, I started to provide private lessons of different subjects to young students, then in London I have privately helped foreign people in the study of the Italian language. The teaching training course which I followed at International House has given to me, in three months, the chance to learn, improve and practice important techniques in real classes, five lessons for beginners and six for intermediate students: Both execution and planning of a lesson have been tested with good results and personal satisfaction. I can prepare different levels of lessons for groups, business classes or one-to-one, following at the same time the logic and the variety.

Tutoring Approach:

The first goal of a tutor is to help the student as much as he can. Who is learning does not have to feel under pressure or under examination, so it is important to be relaxed and to prepare a logic lesson with exercises that can help the student step by step to build a knowledge of the language. It is essential also to provide adapt material, following the variety of the activities in order to avoid the repetitions which could be boring for the student. The enthusiasm and the motivation of the tutor are absolutely the first steps to provide a good result.

Personal Description:
I am a student at the University of Bristol and would like to be a french tutor this summer (2013). I am currently on my year abroad in the South of France and on my return in June would like to help young students improve their french. Having studied french for 8 years i am very enthusiastic about the language, but also the culture. I am completely flexible this summer and have a car so would be able to do home tutoring. As i spend most of my time speaking french at the moment it would be a great opportunity to further this hobby in England whilst helping somebody else and hopefully giving them the enthusiasm that i have for the language.

Teaching Experience:

Although i have not got any formal qualifications as a teacher, when studying my A Levels I helped with the younger classes and often help my younger brother with his language revision. I have acquired voluntary work with children for two years as a leader at my local Brownies group, therefore engaging in and leading activities. I would feel comfortable teaching children or adults.

Tutoring Approach:

I am keen to take an approach to tutoring that suits the individual client. I would offer structured lessons with exercises and small tests for those who are preparing for exams. However I would also be happy to tutor somebody who needs to practice their spoken french. In the first lesson we can identify what suits the student best and together choose our method of teaching and learning.
