Personal Description:
I am a professionally trained actor. I have written for numerous publications, with stories and poems published regularly. I am confident with public speaking, since I have been performing in diverse venues for nearly 10 years. I have an MA in Acting and an MA in Theatre & Performance Studies. I have professional training in elocution, pronunciation as well as accent and dialect work.

I am a keen footballer, and believe in the importance of keeping fit and eating healthily. I also love travel, gardening, fixing computers and watching and critiquing films and theatre.

Teaching Experience:

I have been working as a private Tutor since 2007, and am a member of a number of private tutoring companies. I have tutored in English Language, English Literature, Speech, Drama, Acting, Philosophy, Entrance Exams, and most primary subjects. I have tutored Students from all ages and abilities; including adults and teenagers, as well as younger pupils, and pupils with learning difficulties

From Aug 2009 to May 2010 I was a Learning Support Assistant, DeBeauvoir School, Hackney, London.

Main duties included ensuring that students with learning difficulties are both kept up to speed with the general classroom environment, and that this does not disrupt the other students.

Other duties include:
- To provide full time academic and pastoral support to individual learners with learning difficulties, and/or behavioural and social problems.
- To provide academic and pastoral support to all other learners when required.
- To encourage learners to pursue further academic or vocational education.
- To provide behavioural support in class and to teaching staff at all times.

July 2009 - August 2009 I was SEN Assistant at Kentish Town CE School, London

Main duties include ensuring that students with physical and/or cognitive complications are given the extra support they require within the general classroom environment, and that this does not disrupt the other students.

Jan 2009 - June 2009 I was a Cover Supervisor, Neat Education & Select Education, Sheffield

Responsibilities are that of a Supply Teacher, being responsible for the learning and conduct of a whole class of students. Maintaining discipline and focus as well as being at all times a strong leader and role model were essential at all times.

Other duties include:
- Academic and pastoral support to all other learners when required.
- Monitoring attendance of learners and set appropriate targets.
- Invigilating examinations and mark work.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that Tutoring is first about personal connection. Any learning can only be achieved given a certain level of trust, which must be established in order to create a solid platform from which further learning can then flourish. Younger students are most open to absorbing information and should have the chance to take academic information and guidance from a range of people. This enhances the educational experiences and broadens the horizons of a student.

Having myself struggled with poor teachers, or unwieldy subject matter, I know that, with the right teachers, such areas can come alive. More clinical approaches to tutoring further separate students from the learning process. Having experienced one-to-one tuition myself, I have seen the many positives and potential pitfalls the system can bring. These experiences galvanize me and help me in my own tutoring. I relish taking what I have learnt, and the exciting methods by which I have learnt it, and passing that on to other students.

Regardless of the level taught, it is impossible to make real progress unless the student first has engagement and interest in the subject. I see my task as tutor as a process of invigorating the material for those studying.

Personal Description:
I recently graduated from Drama Centre London, top of my year, with an MA in European and Classical Acting (which incorporated a real focus on Chekhov and Shakespeare). Although in essence a practical course, it gave me a wealth of experience in 'unlocking' classical language and style, interrogating character and thematic devices. This built on my BA degree in Theatre, Performance Studies and Literature from Warwick University where I graduated with a 1st.

I specialise in deconstructing all forms of literature and thrive in finding ways to get my students to actively engage with the text. I have taken part and personally facilitated workshops on Shakespeare at spaces including: The Globe, universities in Japan, Stratford Circus and Warwick University, and this has given me a wealth of experience and tools to access classical text. I am incredibly passionate about making text accessible and figuring out what works for the individual student.

I have been an experienced tutor of Drama and English literature since my time studying at Warwick University, and more recently worked in Russia tutoring a 12-year-old girl for Public School Entrance Exams in England (which she successfully gained entry for). I also run workshops and one-to-one session on audition, technique for students preparing for drama school auditions.

Teaching Experience:

Teaching Experience
Private tutoring:
Two years' experience of private tutoring at A Level/GCSE in English Literature; Drama (performance and text work); English as a foreign language;
Tutoring for 13 + Entrance Exams;
Drama teacher/Workshops;
Warwick University Youth Theatre, facilitator for Stratford Circus; Saturday Circus skills; Curious Directive (theatre company), workshops on Macbeth at various Japanese Universities.

Additional Experience
Different Every Night: Mike Davis Workshop at The Globe (2011)
Teaching Shakespeare: Shakespeare's Globe Theatre (2011)
Ecuador Volunteers: Teacher of English as a Foreign Language (2009-2010)

I first started leading workshops for children through the Warwick Arts Centre Youth Theatre, where I became a Youth Theatre Leader for the 14-16 year-old age group. For a year, I led workshops for three hours every Saturday morning in which we explored different types of storytelling, movement, and music culminating in a show we co-wrote at the end of the year. I also directed for Warwick Arts Centre 'Play in a Day', which is all in the title really! I had a large group of 4-8 year-olds and we had the day to devise a play to perform to parents in the evening: a tiring but exhilarating day! I have since gone on to lead workshops using theatre in prisons, youth groups in London and in Quito, Ecuador. This September I was so excited to return to facilitating workshops in 'Circus Skills' at Stratford Circus.

Tutoring Approach:

I have worked with students across all ages and this has made me comfortable in adapting my approach to each student's specific requirements. Unlocking text to make it accessible and exciting is of upmost importance to the way I work especially when it comes to classical text. Feeling removed or finding themes irrelevant to modern life are challenges that I often face with students, and I am passionate about removing these blocks. I also believe that an appreciation of literature, both classical and contemporary, is important and makes a difference to performance across the board: encouraging a critical approach improves analytical skills important for all subject areas, and helps in writing well-balanced, well-structured essays.

My training as an actress enables me to provide an innovative and stimulating approach to the individual student. I work hard to encourage confidence in each session, as this not only improves engagement with the subject but also helps develop a strong individual writing style. I tend to figure out what approach works best for each student over the first few sessions and structure lessons accordingly so as to maximise learning and overall enjoyment of the subject.

I am a high achiever and extremely conscientious with regards to all elements of my work. It this attention to detail and a strong work ethic I intend to impart to students, be it in structuring revision plans, planning essays or analysing text. The importance of proficiently organising work not only improves success but dramatically decreases stress levels, which is something I have found to be the biggest block for student preparing for difficult exams and auditions or school entrance exams.

Personal Description:
I am currently studying the International Baccalaureate at Impington sixth form. I enjoy teaching and working with children. I have experience with working with young people and have run and lead several youth club sessions. I have level 2 British Sign Language and am passionate about working with hearing impaired children. I am looking to be a teacher and hope this will give me a taster.

Teaching Experience:

As I am only 17 I have limited teaching opportunities, however my experience is wide for someone of my age. I have gained my youth work award and have lead several youth club sessions in Cottenham and have also got a sports leadership qualification. I regularly assist my mum with her riding school and often take out children on rides individually. I frequently help my younger cousins with homework and I also babysit. I have gained my Duke of Edinburgh award during which I volunteered at the local Rainbows. During my work experience I spent two weeks working with primary school hearing and deaf students.

Tutoring Approach:

I prefer working one to one with children so that they have my full attention to enable them to reap the benefits of the teaching sessions. I believe in a collaborative approach so that the children are able to discuss ideas rather than regard learning as a chore. I like to enable learning through fun to bring out their passion in learning and give them the best chance to exceed expectation.

Personal Description:
Hi, I have always had a love for languages and would love to instil you with the same enthusiasm. After having lived abroad as part of my degree, I then graduated with a BA Hons Degree Class 2.1 in Modern Languages (German, French and Italian), after which I obtained my Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). After teaching, I also worked for International companies, using my languages extensively by liaising with customers and colleagues overseas and also translating and interpreting. I have always kept my languages fresh by reading foreign literature and keeping in touch with German / French friends. I am mother to 4 children, but even after my children were born, I continued to do some freelance translation. As a mother and as a teacher, I know the importance of patience and how important it is to make learning worthwhile, enjoyable and fun!

Teaching Experience:

After qualifying as a Languages teacher, I have taught German and French in a Comprehensive School to the 11-18 age group. I have tutored teenagers and adults privately in both German and French. I have also provided French classes in one of the International companies I worked for.

Tutoring Approach:

I can offer a learning program which is specifically tailored to suit the individuals needs, whatever the level of knowledge or ability. If required, lessons can be adapted to focus on specific areas such as grammar or conversation practice. My experience in using languages in a business setting also means that I am also well placed to teach lanuages to adults for business purposes. I am a perfectionist and will strive to offer the best tuition possible, by thorough preparation and the use of a variety of learning materials and approaches. If required homework can be set to consolidate knowledge learnt. I want your learning to be productive and engaging. It can open a window into foreign culture and soon you will realise how much fun it is to be able to communicate in another language.

Personal Description:
I am a fun loving person who has always enjoyed mathematics. I am very approachable and love it when people ask me difficult questions! I know how hard it can be studying for A level, Higher and Advanced higher exams so I would be overjoyed to help someone willing to put in a little extra effort for their exams. I have been through the process myself and luckily I had good teachers who knew the importance of making classes fun and interesting. I hope I can fill someone else with the same enthusiasm that I have.

Teaching Experience:

Tutored many younger pupils on a regular basis whilst in school.

Tutoring Approach:

I hope to make mathematics fun and interesting as well as squeezing in all of the important information. I will never assume that someone has certain knowledge and make sure the most basic steps are fully understood before moving on. Having been a student myself so recently I know exactly what is required to do well in a GCSE or A level exam. The key to this is knowing which areas of the subject to put in the most effort. I can help a tutee to understand what the most important things to remember are and make sure they have a solid knowledge of these.

Personal Description:
Graduated at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in 2011, I'm skilled in traditional fine art skills (such as drawing, painting, sculpting, and mixed media) as well as in digital media (including photography, animation, and editing).

I am practicing fine artist with previous exhibitions in Hungary, Austria and the UK. Due to my studies I have a deep knowledge in history of art, architecture, design and other related subjects.
As I graduated in General Set Design, I'm interested in theatre and film design, and my credit includes participation in award-winning productions (such as the Berlin Film Award winner, the 'Only the wind' and the 'Othello' 2009 in the Vígszínház Theatre Hungary).

Teaching Experience:

I gained experience in teaching through hosting workshops in various cities in Hungary as well as in London (UK).
These workshops involved life drawing, face-paint, puppet-making, theatre-design and painting (for example on the Caledonian Road Festival 2012, and the Békésmegye Spring/Summer Festival 2008). These activities involved teaching children in a wide age range (from 3-19) as well as adults. I am currently undertaking a teaching assistance course with a secondary school placement and am a Session Leader with the Fabelist Art Collective in an art workshop for children aged between 7 and 14.

Tutoring Approach:

I'm interested in one-to-one tutoring as I believe that a tutor has to have an understanding in the student's skills, interests and current level to be able to provide help.

It might be just for a temporary occasion of getting on with a project or a long-term development (let it be an aim to get good results in school, or to get into Foundation or Art University), the most important for me is to help developing skills with offering a wide range of art techniques and ways of seeing.

I think it is essential to find a personal way to each person to be able to develop their skills.

Personal Description:
I see myself as a passionate musician, always looking to expand my skills and knowledge and share them with other musicians both live, in studio and through lessons.
As you will note, I finished my BMus (Hons) back in 2012, specialized in electric guitar and I have also acquired three years of Music Production/Technology at Linköping University, Sweden. I hold a CRB check as well as a Child Protection and Health and Safety Certificate.

As a versatile individual, I have been taking part in different professional situations where I have applied my skills as a musician, live, in studio and through private teaching. These experiences have solidified my confidence and have given me the opportunity to express myself musically as well as instructing my students to pursue their musical journeys.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching privately students of ages 8 - 45, for the last 20 months. For my lessons I have created my own material combined with information gathered from other sources (books, dvd's, masterclasses) and I also have used different guitar syllabuses in some cases.

Tutoring Approach:

My goal as a teacher is to share my appreciation for music with students and fellow musicians, by teaching a range of topics including Techniques, Sight Reading, Ensemble Performance, Style Studies, Composition and Music Production. Besides introducing new concepts to the students, I am positive about creating a fun and relaxed environment but challenging at the same time.
I usually choose songs that from my point of view are suitable for the students and combine that with other topics like the ones mentioned above. I find it very important to create fun and captivating lessons with the emphasis on the student's growth in the most efficient way. For every lesson taught, I keep track of the student's progress making sure that the information is learned and applied in context before moving on to new material.

Personal Description:
I am a Geography graduate of Magdalene College Cambridge. I studied Geography, Mathematics, Biology and English Literature at A Level as well as taking an Extended Project Qualification. I achieved 100% in several of my modules including Decision Mathematics, Victorian Literature, Biology practical work and my Geography AS paper. I am an open, friendly and approachable character with a genuine love of learning.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored previously and lectured at New York University. I have given talks to school aged children and fellow students at the London Science Museum and Cambridge University Engineering Department. As a Guide leader I am used to working with children and young people. In addition to this I have been tutored myself so know what can be achieved with one-on-one teaching.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a strong work ethic driven mainly by my love of assimilating knowledge purely for knowledge's sake. I hope to not only improve my tutees abilities in their respective subjects but encourage them to enjoy their learning and see the value of education. I believe that confidence is a major factor when approaching a new or a difficult topic. Making mistakes is a natural part of learning and just because you are struggling with a problem now doesn't mean that you will never be able to solve it. I have first hand experience of this. In my first AS Maths exam in January I got a C. But by June I was achieving A grades and never slipped below this again. I believe that it was tutoring that was the catalyst for my improvement. It gave me the confidence to ask questions but it also showed me that the rapid pace of classroom learning doesn't suit everyone. Tutoring should consolidate what is taught in schools and should only push children beyond their age range's ability if the child is comfortable with this and has a keen interest in the subject.

Personal Description:
I am a friendly, patient and reliable 22 year old who enjoys helping students of all ages achieve their full potential. Having recently completed my degree in Mathematics and Music at Cardiff University, I am also well travelled and love meeting new people.

Teaching Experience:

I have a great deal of experience working with children and adults of all ages and abilities: for the past three years, I have worked as a Student Tutor in a college helping students study for GCSE and A Level Mathematics. Whilst studying for A Levels, I was able to tutor many students in the early years of secondary school. As a warranted GirlGuide leader, I organise weekly educational activities for children between 11 and 14. I have also spent a substantial amount of time working with children with disabilities, from the learning setting to camping/play areas.

Tutoring Approach:

My style of tutoring is one that highlights the fun aspects of Mathematics/Music. I will work towards improving a student's weak areas by relating the topic to everyday life, or an area they are competent in. By being empathetic to a student's knowledge, background and learning style, I aim to motivate and inspire students to reach their goals.
