Personal Description:
I am a forty-two year old male, who has lived and worked all over the world. I only teach English as a Foreign Language, and I will only teach adults (16+). I live in Southampton, and am prepared to travel if required. I am available most of the time, including weekends if necessary.
My interests include football and sailing.

Teaching Experience:

I have previously taught adult students as follows;
1. In Prague (Czech Republic), mostly at beginner and intermediate level.
2. Fijian adults at intermediate and advanced level.
3. Polish adults at all levels.
4. Arabic adults at intermediate level.
I do not teach any other subjects so EFL is my speciality.

Tutoring Approach:

I have used most of the popular workbooks before, but I am happy to teach to a syllabus of the student's choice. I try to make all lessons as contemporary and enjoyable as possible (I have even taught in a pub), but am happy to adapt to the student's needs as necessary.

Over the last 17 years in IT consultancy, I developed have a breadth and depth of knowledge in IT and computing which is hard to find almost anywhere in the UK having dealt with almost all types of systems and aspects of IT.

I'm not able to teach you all the intricacies of the Microsoft Office products like Excel or Word, but I can train you in system design, system support, software development and pretty much anything in between. I have detailed experience in virtually all Microsoft operating systems and applications. I am also very experienced on VMware products. My name is Freya, and I am a professional singer and teacher. I am studying for an MPerf in Vocal Studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and sing professionally all over the country. I teach mainly at my home in South East London, but I can also hire spaces in central London and I am willing to travel to your home to teach as well. I also spend a lot of time in Oxford so I can take on students in this area.

Personal Description:
I am a successful local tutor and teacher with an MA in Education from Oxford Brookes University (2016), a Postgraduate Diploma in English and Language in Education from the University of Reading (2012). I also have a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Secondary - English) from Oxford Brookes University (2007) and a BA Hons in English Literature (2006). I am passionate about my subject and enthusiastic about improving both my pedagogical and subject knowledge. With A Level clients, I often re-read the key exam texts and exam specifications in order to deliver a successful tutorial. For GCSE, I am confident with multiple exam boards but, again, I take a sincere interest in changes to qualifications and specifications. I have recently led a team of ten teachers in our delivery of the GCSE English qualification through WJEC. Part of my role included observing good teaching practice and documenting this for staff appraisals.

Teaching Experience:

I have ten years experience of working in the state secondary sector as a Qualified English Teacher; teaching anything from Key Stage 3 (11 years - 14 years) up to Key Stage 5 (A Level) including GCSE. I currently teach GCSE and iGCSE English at a popular FE college for adults, returning to education, and for full-time learners aged 16+. In addition, I have previously worked as a Learning Support Assistant, at a Catholic primary school in Reading. I have also taught American children how to use movie editing packages, such as iMovie, in Maine, USA.

Tutoring Approach:

The rapport with the parent is as just as important as the tutee. In order to make a success of the tuition, it's paramount to have a good professional relationship with both. I use feedback from the tutee's parent (via a school report) and informal feedback from the tutee to create an Individual Tuition Plan which includes setting three clear targets. Depending on the key stage and ability of the tutee, this can range anything from parenthetic comma use to translating Chaucerian poetry!

Personal Description:
My name is Carolina, my mother language is Spanish and I am 34 years old. I am a qualified Spanish tutor and I cover both Castilian Spanish and Latin American Spanish. I love languages and being able to teach Spanish is an enriching experience for me and I want to carry on learning other languages myself as it is a totally open door to the world and it is what I like to transmit to each of my students.

Teaching Experience:

I have a wide experience teaching and assisting English teachers and other subjects in my hometown so I know how to give a personal value to each of my students as everyone is different and unique and I am completely conscious of the different teaching methods suitable for individual needs. Teaching and learning a language should be enjoyable and fun, with plenty of opportunities to make and correct mistakes without embarrassment and always with a wide-open window for the communication, which is the base of any language.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe learning a new language is a challenge for anyone and for some people could be easy to comprehend certain things and not so easy other type of things, but when learning the language in a context, where the student is able to see the full picture of the form of the language and be able to explore why its the way it is, is what I strongly believe is the best method of learning. A word on its own does not mean anything in any language, but when you put it on a context, then it takes shape, a nice shaped like a puzzle.

Personal Description:
As a recent university graduate, I offer a closer bond with students than most tutors due to the lesser age gap. Many exams that students struggle with are ones that I myself have taken, so I can empathise and relate to issues students face on a better level than older tutors. I graduated in English Literature from UEA with a 2:1, achieved A*AA at A Level in English, Philosophy and History, and obtained 10 GCSEs at A* to A and 2 more at B. I was educated at Wilson's School in Surrey which during my time there was consistently ranked as one of the best boys' state schools in the country, and indeed was at number 1 in the rankings for a few years while I was there.

I am currently working towards an MA qualification with a view to going on to a PhD to pursue a career in academic lecturing and tutoring.

Teaching Experience:

Most of my experience comes from being on the receiving end of teachers and tutors from entrance exam up until university, and understanding their shortcomings and failings and what could have been done better. Crucially, I understand student mentalities and what students want and need at all levels. I have tutored Year 5-6s in Maths and Year 10-11s in English so far. Since joining UK Tutors I have taught a 9 year old in writing skills and a 15 year old in GCSE English.

Tutoring Approach:

I offer a fun and friendly way of helping the student to realise their full potential through going over schoolwork, practice papers and other forms of assessment - but critically, I focus on talking with and building a relationship with the student. I don't want them to see tutoring as just another school classroom with another teacher - it should be a fun and intellectually stimulating environment that they enjoy participating in. My experience has shown that if the student is enjoying themselves, they will perform to a far better standard.

I can offer high level teaching in English and History, as well as Philosophy, Critical Thinking and German to an A Level standard, Maths and Sciences up to GCSE standard, other subjects can be discussed.

Crucially, I was a master at dealing with exam pressure and good coursework - I will provide expert tutoring for students suffering from exam stress and help them to format and write essays for coursework. As I did much of the same things just a few years ago, I understand better than anyone what it feels like!

Personal Description:
I recently completed a PGCE course in secondary education where I have taught students aged 11 - 18 in Hampshire and Wokingham schools. I previously graduated from the University of Exeter in Civil Engineering and as such the way that I teach is very much based around the application of mathematical theories and skills as I believe this to not just make subjects more engaging but also aids with the learning process.

Teaching Experience:

Having recently completed a PGCE course through the University of Reading I have had experience teaching a wide variety of ability levels in secondary education.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that when tutoring it is vital to come up with a plan tailored to each students individual needs whether that be identifying whether the student needs to practice answering various exam style questions, consolidating learning taking place in their regular lesson or if they need stretching beyond what is being covered in class to better prepare them for the next stage in their education.

I am new to Manchester from Hong Kong. I am an enthusiastic, open-minded and dedicated teacher.

Teaching Experience:

Experienced in communicating with children and young people. Lessons can be for preparation for examinations or just for fun.

Tutoring Approach:

Communicating with different people has always been an enjoyable and funny thing for me and I am able to teach pupils in a relaxed and friendly manner. I believe that allowing learners to make mistakes and then guide them to find out the best answer is one of the best ways for them to understand music. When learners feel comfortable, it would be easier for them to enjoy the lessons and make progress naturally.
