Personal Description:
Hello,

I am 30 years old from the Old Trafford/ Stretford area of Manchester, I graduated in Law from Lancaster university in 2008, I now work in Conveyancing/Property law having previously worked in the Banking/financial field. I am an individual who is quite fond of reading, debating and discovering new things. I would say I am quite lively, not too difficult to get on with, very ambitious but also with an equal dash of a patience for I am a patient individual. Although I am admittedly not fantastic at sports I do play badminton and football from time to time I can play a range of sports but those tend to be the main two. I am a massive fan of education and self development. The colossal impact both areas can have upon our lives is incalculable, as such I tend to be never too far away from reading a book or learning something new to further myself.

Teaching Experience:

I have mainly gained a lot of my early teaching experience through tutoring younger siblings and assisting the junior year students either at college or University with areas which they either required either extra help in or further knowledge. I have further developed this over the last four years and I am confident that the contribution which I have made to those who I have helped has been substantial in helping them to progress onwards to the next stage and beyond. As such I would hope to extend this towards any student who desires to take me on board and to progress until they are ready for the task at hand.

As I have progressed over the years, teaching various and numerous tutees, my own personal & teaching experience has grown exponentially year on year. As such I believe I can approach any teaching scenario and offer the required angle to ensure success as a result of previous experience yet I still take each student on a case by case/ individual basis rather than a blanket approach.

Tutoring Approach:

I begin my approach with an informal but analytical conversation with the student, parent or both in order to assess strengths and areas where we can develop a plan of action or just to establish face to face what it is we will be doing in the time we have. I will aim to take each stage step by step until both you and I are satisfied that we are confident in understanding and explaining coherently the relevant information. I will be professional but understanding as patience dictates, most importantly any work set during the session will be wholly relevant, comprehensible and creative in order to match your needs.

I do incorporate digital media, an interactive projector for lessons and presentations or a whiteboard depending on the subject if a visual element is required in teaching. Presentations can be sent via email at any time as well.

*For any LPC students I can also tutor and instruct in Solicitors accounts too.

Personal Description:
I am a highly experienced Maths tutor, geared toward ensuring you get the best exam grades possible in your field. I will increase your understanding of maths, and my explanations are simple and straightforward. Alongside tutoring, I will guide you through exam techniques, and common pitfalls.

Teaching Experience:

6 years private tutor. 4 years private tutor in Maths 1, Maths 2, and Mechanics of Materials of University's courses.
2 years experiences in GCSE and A Level Mathematics.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching strategy usually involves engaging the student in critical thinking early on, as I believe this is the key to understanding, and I will never "tell" a student what he should do, or why this is like that, but to direct his thinking so that he/she understands why this is the way it is, and why should he/she act that way. I do not believe in memorisation being the main way of teaching in some countries, as this usually does not prepare people for university and life in general, specially in science and maths. Of course, there's always a degree of memorisation in every subject, but I try to keep it to a minimum. This also depends on every student, and I ultimately asses my strategy individually for each student.

Personal Description:
I studied architecture then moved into the world of film and commercials as a set designer, training at the BBC and moving into the freelance world working on a variety of projects as a Set Designer and Stylist. My drawing skills have always been central to my varied art and design career .
In film I collaborated with a variety of creatives including directors ,lighting, costume, makeup, special effects designers, which was enriching and inspirational. Then I began to paint for other designers on their projects and my artwork became a larger part of my work.
Now I work mainly from my studio in Wimbledon on commissions (including painting ) for films & interiors, portrait commissions and my own personal projects in between tutoring.Drawing, painting, photoshop, collage, photography and model making are used in many of my projects. I currently have a painting in the BP Award 2016 at The National Portrait Gallery,London, then in Lincoln and finally to The Scottish National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh until the end of March 2017.
I continue to be passionate about the visual world, creating and sharing my skills and experience, carefully designing my sessions to respond to the students requirements in an enjoyable and rewarding way.

Teaching Experience:

In recent years I found people came to my studio for advice and inspiration. I was then invited to be a visiting artist at a school in Kingston and began taking workshops for groups of varying age groups and abilities.
I have designed and run workshops for 'Gifted and Talented Children' and have recently been invited to devise workshops for the V&A.Recently I devised and supervised a project for a final year textile design student at Manchester University to work on a project with a working designer .The students I work with at the moment age from 6 years to adults. From Scholarship Applications to students needing help with university projects to professionals requiring assistance with projects.
My City & Guilds course for Delivering Learning enabled me to carefully design the projects to suit the students and their individual requirements.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a great believer in the unique value of creative skills to build confidence and enrich our lives in so many ways.
My sessions are carefully considered and devised to encourage my students to develop their talents and make it an inspirational and enjoyable experience.One-to-one Tutorials are a great opportunity to work on your own skills to enable you to produce that art & design portfolio, better pieces for your GCSE course work or for the practising artist or designer to inspire innovative ideas & concepts, alongside the exploration of materials, process and techniques.

Personal Description:
Hi. My name is Llinos. I am 37 and live in Eastleigh near Southampton. I currently work part time as a History teacher in a senior state school. I have previously been Head of History in a very successful senior girls' grammar school and in private prep school. I have also had several History teaching roles up to A2 level as well as teaching Maths and English up to year 8.

Over the last 14 years I have taught a wide range of History topics at all levels and to a wide variety of abilities from EAL students to preparation for Oxbridge interviews. I have also prepared pupils up to 13 for the Common Entrance English examination and have provided on-going support in English focussing on literacy, grammar etc.

I work for OCR as an A Level and GCSE examiner so am fully aware of the requirements needed to attain the best grade possible here. I have also attended several INSETS of the other main exam boards at both GCSE and A Level as well as the most recent meeting for History at Common Entrance level so have a very good knowledge of all public examinations.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching History for over 14 years. I taught in a very high achieving boys' grammar school (Reading School) forc2 years before becoming Head of History in a very high achieving girls' school (Kendrick).
I taught all years including GCSE and A level and think that I have covered all main exam boards and many of the topics taught at all levels. Most girls gained A*-A grades at both levels.

I also ran the Berkshire group for the Learning Skills Council to work to improve attainment at A Level for all abilities as well as presenting at LSC conferences on study skills and how to stretch the most able in History.

I then taught in a private girls school where my duties involved helping pupils with English as a second language gain a higher-level pass at A Level as well as teaching all years of mixed ability including GCSE and A Level classes.

Until recently, I worked in a prep school as Head of History and delivered one-to-one lessons with all of my year 8 pupils in preparation for their exams. Last year, my class of 18 very mixed ability pupils all gained A*-B in their Common Entrance History exam.
I have also taught English, Geography, Maths and RS at secondary level.

Tutoring Approach:

I have done much work on study skills, particularly mind-mapping, and learning styles. It is a bit of a passion that I have in addition to the History!

I love teaching pupils one-to-one and working out what is going to be the best method (or methods) of learning for them. I also see that the problem can sometimes be happening at a very basic level to a large extent. For example - if a student is just sent off to 'make notes' without ever having been actually guided in HOW to make these notes.

I don't really think I have an 'approach' in general as I truly believe that, in a one-to-one situation, methods can and should be completely tailored to the specific needs of that individual pupil.
Depending on those needs, I can work with students to produce specific and useful sets of notes, work on examiantion technique, provide extensive essay feedback, help them recognise how to remember specific historical details and which ones to bother learning etc.

Personal Description:
I am 27 years old and a fully qualified Upper Pay Scale teacher with whole school responsibilities for English. I have tutored in the Horsham area for 4 years. I have a passion for helping children to learn and overcome barriers to their learning. I am happy to tutor long or short term in Maths or English and can also offer support in History and Science to GCSE level.

In Maths and English I am confident working with:
National curriculum in England: Key Stages 1-4 new and old curriculum.
Lesson planning will depend on initial assessment of the student's abilities and gaps in knowledge. Misconceptions will be addressed and then teaching can progress.

I use a variety of teaching strategies including: use of technology (Ipad, videos, online activities); journalling/note taking for revision; traditional teaching with guided worksheets and finally interactive problem solving activities (Maths).

Teaching Experience:

PGCE Primary
5 years teaching KS2 2012-present.
8 years tutoring experience in Maths and English including recent experience of new curriculum with grades 1-9.

Tutoring Approach:

Personalised teaching methods will apply for each pupil and subject. Generally, I aim to understand a pupil's particular needs and motivations. I believe children will succeed when given teaching that is tailored to their specific strengths and weaknesses.

Personal Description:
My interests include cycling and cooking. I am married and have three daughters. My students appreciate my approachable and relaxed style of teaching. I worked as an industrial chemist for GSK and Avecia but retrained to become a teacher, this gives me a more rounded picture of chemistry and its application in real life situations.

Teaching Experience:

4 years at University level
3 years secondary schools
2 years at FE colleges
4 years home/online tutoring
A-level, advanced higher, higher etc

Tutoring Approach:

Simple effective approach. Students need to succeed, I get students through exams as I have good subject knowledge and know how to teach. Students increase in confidence and gain a deeper understanding of chemistry. I teach using Skype and an online application called scribblar, this is really the future of home tutoring and is just as effective as if I am in the room with the student. I have a satisfaction guarentee ie if you are not happy with the service you don't pay.

Personal Description:
I gained a 1st class degree in Modern History at Oxford University in 2009, specialising in the history of conflicts such as the Northern Irish troubles and Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I have also completed an MA in International Relations at Yale University, where I came top in the year for academic achievement. During my studies at Yale, I taught undergraduates classes in social science and discovered a passion for teaching.

In addition to my academic and teaching experience, I have considerable professional experience in international affairs. I have worked in The Hague for a non-governmental organisation working to build empathy in communities divided by conflict. I have two years of experience project managing international development projects, especially education projects in conflict-affected areas. I have two years of experience as a management consultant working on projects for UK central government departments. I have also carried out part-time research for universities and think tanks.

Teaching Experience:

I have significant teaching experience working with both children and adults at different stages of their academic development.

In 2013, I was a Teaching Fellow at Yale University, delivering social science lessons to classes of over 20 undergraduate students each week. I prepared my classes, coordinated the logistics of the classes with the professor, graded the students' problem sets and provided one-to-one tuition to students.

I have provided private tuition to students for A Level and GSCE in a range of subjects including English, History and Political Science.

I also have provided Oxbridge preparation for students applying to Oxbridge for History and Classics. This included providing preparation materials, interview advice and interview practice.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a friendly and diligent tutor who creates tailored lesson plans based on the needs of the individual student. I am patient with students and committed to helping them understand the material and realise their potential in examinations.

Personal Description:
Hello, my name is Luis. I am a PhD candidate at the University of Aberdeen working on oil spills in the deep sea. I am from Spain and I am very passionate about academia and learning in general.

My background is on oceanography, where I have covered ecology (biology), ocean dynamics and sediment geochemistry (chemistry). Data interpreting is part of my research work and it involves statistics of academic level and mathematical modelling.

I collaborated with AU Science Magazine writing blog posts and editing articles. I am currently involved in a Research Development initiative to create a collaborative framework within the University of Aberdeen for researchers and students alike.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a demonstrator at the University of Aberdeen since October 2014, where I assist in the following courses in two Schools:

School of Biological Sciences:
- Oceans and Society (SX1015)
- Animal Population Ecology (ZO3307)
- Ecology and Environmental Science (BI1511)

College of Natural and Computing Sciences:
- Chemistry for the Life Sciences (CM1020)
- Chemistry for the Physical Sciences (CM1021)

I have ample tutoring experience from when I was at University in Spain and I continue tutoring to this day in Aberdeen (+6 years). I have long-distance students whom I tutor via Skype. I was also a collaborating student at University in Spain where I prepared practical work for students.

Tutoring Approach:

Where students find difficulties I like to break down concepts into simpler pieces that then assemble to represent the entire idea. I also think it is important to let the pupil know the purpose of these concepts in a wider context so that they can appreciate the value of learning the contents of the course.

Finally, I am an advocate of enjoying learning and always endeavour to make lessons as fun and interactive as possible.

I'm a 25 Canadian teacher, now in my third year teaching in London. In addition to teaching, I take part in screenwriting, filmmaking, and online blogging.

Teaching Experience:
