Personal Description:
I studied a BSc in Genetics at the University of Liverpool after which I worked in a microbiology laboratory. In 2008, I moved to Brighton, my home town, and completed a PGCE in secondary science with the University of Brighton. My teaching practice was in two West Sussex schools and I then worked a maternity contract as a Teacher of Biology in an all-girls school in central Brighton. Following this role, I worked as an Editor for a science publishing company based in London.

My most recent teaching position was as Teacher of Science at Bellerbys College, Brighton, an international school which prepares students for a university education in the UK. Since 2008, I have tutored many students from GCSE to University level providing guidance for exams and subject-specific support. I thoroughly enjoy imparting my understanding and love of science to others.

I have recently returned to England after living in Scotland undertaking an MSc in Psychology at the University of Abertay, Dundee, whilst also working as an Independent Advocate. Alongside this, having trained as a Yoga teacher with the British Wheel of Yoga, I teach private and group Yoga classes.

Teaching Experience:

I hold a PGCE in secondary science from the University of Brighton and whilst on this course I taught 11-18 year olds at two West Sussex schools. I then worked for a year, on a maternity contract, as a Teacher of Biology at an all-girls school in central Brighton. For three years I worked a full-time position as a Teacher of Science at Bellerbys College, Brighton.

I have eight years tutoring experience, having tutored Undergraduate-Level, A-Level, AS-level, GCSE and mature students in both Biology and Chemistry. I have a very successful track record.

Tutoring Approach:

I am very friendly and approachable, and highly dedicated to my students -- I put in a lot of time and effort to ensure they are achieving their full potential. Within the sessions, I provide solid structure and tailor my approach to their individual needs. I suggest work for completion outside of sessions and provide the students with direction to develop their private approach to learning and revision.

I am able to explain difficult concepts in an easily digested way, making learning for them enjoyable and confidence-boosting. I have a clear, patient manner, and an excellent grasp of my subject specialisms.

Personal Description:
I live in Cheshire and have two children. I enjoy camping, the outdoors & the countryside in general. We like to travel around the UK, especially Scotland & Southern Ireland. I have enjoyed being successful professionally & in my academic career & I am always looking for new opportunities to make the best use of the skills I've developed over the years. I enjoy working out and train most days. I have an interest in numismatics (coins and paper money).

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching in Further & Higher education for the past 17 years & I am Head of Subject & Senior Lecturer at a College with Beacon status in the North West. My results are 10% above national benchmark & I am an examiner with a leading examination board. Last year, I carried out some regular private tuition & was able to turn E grades into A grades at A2 level. This was very satisfying for me & the student concerned was able to go on & take a degree in Law, something he wouldn't have been able to do otherwise.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to treat every student as an individual & seek to respond to their individual learning needs. I offer a very reliable, high standard of service & see us as working together to achieve a common objective, that of success in the summative examinations. Being an examiner for sociology is also a real advantage for my tutees too. More recently, I have been working with Nelson Thornes and AQA to provide 50 online Sociology learning resources for publication in support of their new A2 student book. I now also offer online tuition via Skype voice and video call at a discounted hourly rate for block bookings, hence the £30 rate.

Personal Description:
With me as your tutor, not only do you receive a first-class education in a supportive environment, but you also get the benefit of my extensive experience and ongoing research.

Last year, I completed my funded PhD on Samuel Beckett and Theodor W. Adorno at Royal Holloway, University of London. I completed my Masters study in Literature and Philosophy in September 2012, graduating with Distinction, and received a First Class Honours BA in English from Royal Holloway in 2010. Between my Undergraduate and Masters study I worked for a year as an Editorial Assistant in the Health Sciences division of Hachette UK.

I also offer a proofreading service and online tuition.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a Visiting Lecturer at Royal Holloway since September 2014 and have taught on the courses 'Modernist Literature'; 'Reorienting the Novel'; 'Inventing the Novel'; 'Fundamental Questions in Philosophy'; and 'Special Author: Samuel Beckett'. I have received excellent student feedback, with over 95% of my students agreeing that the seminars significantly furthered their knowledge. A number of the students last year identified seminars as the aspect of the course that helped them increase their knowledge and skills, with comments including 'engaging and approachable' and 'very helpful essay feedback'.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that each student requires entirely different strategies for the optimum level of learning. It is important for them to be taught in a positive and open environment, where they are encouraged not only to develop academically, but also to enjoy the experience of learning.

Whilst I recognise the need to cram for exams in our education system, I still believe that excellent grades can be achieved without compromising original thought and extra-curricular study.

I also offer proof-reading services if you do not require face to face tuition but only some help on a particular piece of work.

Teaching Experience:

I have more than 9 years of teaching experience. I have taught in Denmark, Sweden, United States and now the UK. I have taught to individuals and small groups in a variety of settings and with a variety of goals.

Tutoring Approach:

I love interactive classes, and strongly believe that the learning space should be used to put the language into practice. I create a lot of materials myself, which assures that they are adapted to the level and needs of my students. I like to incorporate technology resources into my classes. Communication is key in the approach to my teaching.

Personal Description:
I graduated with a Masters from the National Film and Television School and an English degree from York University.
I have worked as a writer and a tutor for the past five years now and continue to love helping people gain the confidence needed to fulfil their full potential. I firmly believe that when it comes to exams, success lies in getting back to the original text. If students are able to enjoy the literature and the process, then we will be able to find out the answers that achieve the highest grades.

Teaching Experience:

My experience with tutoring has varied from one to one sessions, to small classes to assisting with written work online.

I specialise in getting students ready for dreaded exams, preparing them with the forensic knowledge of a text that is required to really succeed. This begins long before the revision process, with homework help and extra work. If you 'learn as you go', things will be much easier later on! I really care for the students I have worked with in the past and believe that everyone has it in them to achieve what they desire with regards to their education.

Equally my work in creative writing provides me with an innovative approach to English for younger students, allowing a more stimulating method of teaching.

Tutoring Approach:

As a private tutor I believe it is my responsibility to cater to the specific needs of the pupil.

With the right guidance, supplementary education provides the tools (and qualifications) so that both children and adults may better their prospects, knowledge and cultural appreciation.

Before beginning tuition, I always suggest an introductory session so we can talk over your specific needs and can adapt my teaching style as required.

Personal Description:
From my experience in the classroom I realise that many students benefit from much more individual help than school can provide. I enjoy being able to help students on a one-to-one basis as it is very rewarding being able to improve their achievement and confidence.I am very grateful to my students and their parents for the relationships we have struck up, many of which have continued through the years.

Teaching Experience:

I am an English teacher with over 20 years experience teaching to GCSE, A-level and Oxbridge entrance.I have taught in both the independent and state sectors, in a large comprehensive and a small independent school. I have also tutored in Oxford and London for students from 10 to 19.

Tutoring Approach:

One to one or small groups of 2 or 3.

I aim to develop confidence by supporting the students and understanding their needs as a priority. I then encourage them to explore and develop ideas, giving them support while they grow in this. The key is building an excellent relationship in which high expectations enable them to make progress while always supported.

Personal Description:
I want to motivate and empower my pupils to help them become the best that they can be. After five years working in various financial analysis roles across London, I have spent the last two years working for myself as a consultant for charities, Escape Room owners and creative entrepreneurs and as a tutor as well. I enjoy any opportunities to help others achieve their goals.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring University students and adults in business subjects and Microsoft Excel for the past four years whilst working in Finance. Prior experience has also included children of ages 5-12 in groups and 1-1 tutoring at ages: 5-8 (for Maths and English) and 10 (for 11+ exams). Over the past year, I have taken on two students: an adult Saudi taking her Masters in Business and a 10 year old Lithuanian to whom I have been teaching English, Maths and interconnecting it with his interest in game design.

Tutoring Approach:

I tailor my tuition largely to the needs of the student, depending on their requirements and working style. However, my preferred method is to split each session into covering material being learned at school and taking short practice tests to assess weak areas and revise for exams. While tutoring to any required curricula I will also try to instil the love of a subject into a student by guiding them to other fascinating areas of the subject and discovering areas of interests to support the subject's framework.

Personal Description:
Hi,
I am a qualified primary school teacher. I graduated in 2009 from Roehampton University with a BA Primary Education degree with QTS and have been teaching for 8 years.

Teaching Experience:

My experience ranges from Foundation Stage to Key stage 2. Meaning from nursery to year 6.
Working with a broad age range of children, has allowed me to have knowledge about the different ways children learn. Which has enabled me to have a range of different teaching styles, to suit each child as an individual. I feel that I would make an exceptional tutor for your child as over my teaching career I have enabled children to make exceptional progress. I also have experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs such as Autism and Cerebral Palsy. Showing that not only am I a warm and welcoming presence but I am also compassionate.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring approach would be similar to my approach to teaching. I would find out where my student is academically first, then to the steps to fill in the gaps in their learning. Therefore, ensuring they continue to make progress.
